You can do that by using an add-on such as:

Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.

In your case, could you do the below steps:-
Step1 : create a new window, add your view containing Adobe interactive form into this window.
Step 2: Open this window on button action event. Following snippet of code might be helpful for you.

Line 1 & 2. A reference to the context node is created This context node(Node_Name) which is mapped to the UI elemenents on the adobe interactive form.
Line 3,4 & 5: reference to the window manager, component and window are created(all those starting with 'if' stands for interfaces, if you want details about these interfaces, goto transaction SE24 and insert their name and search for parameters and methods.- putting all these details as you said you are new to Wd ABAP).
rest of the lines: creating window API and assigning mandatory parameters to this window.
last line: opening window whenever this particular(wd window) is getting called.
for more details goto SE 24 search with 'if_wd_window".

Creating URLs that open a new tab or browser window?

Hello out there...
I am creating some podcasts via Garage Band and iWeb for my grade 9 class. I have embedded some URLs in the podcast however when one 'clicks' the links the iWeb page is closed and the user is taken to the new page.
I would like the iWeb page with the podcast to remain open and a new page or tab open up to display the link.
Is it possible to do this?

[Solved] How to open n different URLs in n different browser windows

Suppose there are 5 windows of dwb browser open. Using a script I want to open URL1 in first window, then URL2 in second and so on...
Any other browser would do too.

So after a little tinkering around, I found this solution:
First I installend `xulrunner`. Then got conkeror .tar.gz from its git, extracted it and copied the folder twice; effectively creating 3 folders. Now in each folder, I edited each one's application.ini with
Name=conkeror1
Name=conkeror2
Name=conkeror3
Then I created .conkerorrc in home folder and added one single line:
url_remoting_fn = load_url_in_current_buffer;
You can also set it to `url_remoting_fn = load_url_in_new_buffer;` if you want newly issued urls to open in new buffers (tabs).
Then simply issued commands like this:
xulrunner conkeror1/application.ini "URL1"
xulrunner conkeror2/application.ini "URL2"
xulrunner conkeror3/application.ini "URL2"
Voila! Each window is targeted separately!

Customer requirement states that a doc must be opened in the browser, but requires that it open in a new window or tab. I know that this is bad practice, but customer is the customer. Please provide the best course of action. 95% of docs
will be PDFs and can not use client application as the means of opening. Appreciate your help and easiest, simplest solution.

FF 14.0.1: Bookmark with java-script function to build and open URL. Works unless clicked when already in a new blank tab, then does nothing. Why?

On 14.0.1 I have a bookmark which calls a java script function to prompt for input, build and call a dynamic URL. This has worked fine until last update of FF. It works fine if I right click and select Open in a New Tab, or new window. It works fine if I am in any other website and click it. It only does not work, if I open a new blank tab or window, and then click it from inside that new tab. Then it does nothing. Same happens whether the "New tab Page" is displayed or not. Same happens in safe mode.

I searched for a recent thread on this but couldn't find it.
This may be the result of a security restriction on some "about" pages such as about:home and about:newtab.
Did you blank the new tab page using the little button or did you actually change the new tab page to about:blank? In case you need steps for testing:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter the desired value:
''(i) Page thumbnails (default)''

Firefox 4 stops opening new windows after browser window dragged to second display

Firefox 4 stops opening new windows after browser window dragged to second display. It's weird. Behavior is fine until I drag any browser window to the attached second display, and after this point it stops opening new windows but will still open new tabs in the same window. Restart fixes it until I drag the window back to the second display.
"Show all bookmarks" stops working too--won't open a new window.
This is after clean reinstall with total deletion of any Firefox/Mozilla folders and the previously installed app and a restart of the computer.

We are using Oracle 11g Discoverer 11.1.1.4. Requirement is to open the discoverer report in a new browser window and without connections page.
When we are running discoverer reports with this parameters we unwantedly get the connections page of the discoverer plus which we don't want.
Went through the documentation given in this page and followed it still the issue persists, and i see couple of threads with my issue and no updates.

open a browser window: not sure you can do that ; though you can try with Runtime.exec() but you will have to choose the browser that should open and if the comp does not have it you're stuffed
read the content of an URL: i think you can do that with methods of URLConnection class :)

Launch an URL within same browser window

Hi ABAP WebDynproExperts,
Here is a short scenario description what I want to achieve.
I have a ABAP WebDynpro Component which has "Input-Parameters" (Parameters of the Inbound-Plug - Default). Within the handledefault Method I want to call one of my own Function module which generates another URL.
Now I want to launch this URL directly in the same browser window directly without putting the URL on an button. So the ABAP WebDynpro Component/Window/View has no UI elements itself - it should just be used to parse the "importing paramaters" via the url parameters to the backend and executing the URL without user interaction.
Unfortunately I was not able to find a WD specific method how to call a URL in the same browser window? Do you have any ideas?

Targeting url hyperlink to blank browser window

Hi everyone,
I have an indesign file and have created some hyperlinks that go to specific URLs. After I export to pdf the file is uploaded and is embedded in a browser. When this happens, the problem is that when the hyperlink is clicked, the destination page opens in the same browser window, so I wondered if there was a way to customise the link in Indesign so that it will open in a blank browser window once the pdf file is within the browser. I know I would have to use target="_blank" but I don't know if there's a way to add this within ID.
I wondered if anyone has had this scenario and whether there's any solution?

There's the APex javascript function you can use html_PopUp - you can use it in the button's URL Target:
google it to get more details - you can specify the new window name e.g. myWindow and window size etc

Can someone please help me? I've tried to use code as if I were using Dreamweaver without any luck(i.e. blank target).

Jono, if you are still out there. I am also having trouble with this function. The button works just fine, but it does not open another browser window. I am trying to keep my pdf open, and send them to a url. That way they can come back to the form. Like you would with the target="_blank" function in javascript.
What am i doing wrong? I have tried opening the script editor, but I am not sure what to do there. So I put the same as you did on your form, no effect. I put target="_blank" and set it to javascript on just about every option. I have tried to go into the code on the xml source tab, no luck anywhere. I have tried to just use a text field, no luck.
Seems like everything I have tried has no effect.
Hopefully you can tell me it is something simple...

How do I open a new FireFox browser window to the home page and url filled?

win 7 64-bit, firefox 5 open new window no url. When I have firefox open and open a new browser window, the new window does not open on the home page and no url is present in the address field. If I click on the favicon in the address field, the url of the current page will automatically fill in. The forward and backward arrow buttons remain disabled. In addition, links opened in a new window cause a new browser window to open, but the linked to website is not displayed in the new windows. What is displayed is a new window completely blank with no url in the address bar. I tried to include troubleshooting information by clicking on the copy to clipboard, but apparently the character count was exceeded.

I disabled all plug-ins and extensions. the problem has been resolved. Now I will enable each one individually to find out which one was the offender.
