  • Drill Down from Chart View

    Hi,
I have a Pivot table with Chart view only, I want to drill down from the legend and from teh graph itself, is it possible? If so please let me know the steps involved.
    Thank you very much.

    UPDATE POST
    @SSk
can you try this never i tried, the legend that is coming is a column from your request right?...go to column properties in that you find a option called navigate there you place the navigate report and see if the legend is showing a link below it to navigate
follow this topic navigate value interaction of a column http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/olapoperation_
if it works i would be happy, but never i tried......please try this and tell me did you get or not???
    Cheers,

  • Drill Down in Pivot Table with item on page level

    Hi,
I've got a pivot table with Chart next to it. The chart is a separate view, I did not use the 'Chart pivoted results' option.
My pivot table has one Page Level item being the Month Name.
I now have the strange behavior that drilling down on the Pivot table elements gives me No Results as my filter would be too restrictive. The problem is with the 'Month Name'. Removing this item from the filter shows the correct data. When I use the chart next to my data to do the drilling I encounter no problems. This is because this way the restriction on the month name is not added when drilling.
Has anybody encountered this behavior before and knows of a way to solve this.
    Thanks for your advice,
    Kris

My query looks like this :
    SELECT TO_NUMBER (TO_CHAR (t1601.datum_prestatie, 'MM'), '99') AS c3,
    t1584.description AS c4, t1497.project_group AS c5,
    t1497.project_desc AS c6, t1497.project_code AS c7,
    CONCAT (CONCAT (t2241.firstname, ' '), t2241.lastname) AS c8,
    t2254.employee_number AS c9, t1601.duur AS c11,
    t1601.datum_prestatie AS c12
    FROM t_projects t1497 /* Dim_PROJECTS */,
    t_organization t1579 /* DimX_ORGANIZATION_Project */,
    t_organization t1584 /* DimX_ORGANIZATION_Project_Parent */,
    t_employees t2241 /* DimA_EMPLOYEE_Prestatie */,
    t_prestaties t2254 /* DimA_PRESTATIE_Project */,
    t_prestaties t1601 /* Fact_PRESTATIES */
    WHERE ( t1497.business_domain_code = t1579.department_code
    AND t1497.project_code = t1601.project_code
    AND t1497.project_code = t2254.project_code
    AND t1579.parent_department = t1584.department_code
    AND t2241.employee_number = t2254.employee_number
    AND t1584.description = 'Specialized Technologies'
AND t1497.project_group = 'SUPP AP TM'
    AND TO_NUMBER (TO_CHAR (t1601.datum_prestatie, 'MM'), '99') = 3
The last row being a check on the month number.
At the same time in OBIEE I get this :
    No Results
The specified criteria didn't result in any data. This is often caused by applying filters that are too restrictive or that contain incorrect values. Please check your Request Filters and try again. The filters currently being applied are shown below.
Divisie is equal to Specialized Technologies
and      Month is equal to 3
and      Project Group is equal to SUPP AP TM
and      Month Name is equal to Mar
The physical query doesn't even show the restriction on Month Name which makes it even more spooky...

  • Drill down error on Viewer

Hi, I'm having an error on Discoverer Viewer (Release 4.1.44) when I try to Drill down on an element. The drill down functionality works ok, except when the drill down elements are too many and needs to be drawn on Next Page. In that case I got an error ("The page cannot be display").
Anybody had that problem, or knows why it is happening?
    Thanks in advance
    Ivo

Though I cannot say without investigating this if this is a bug or due to some other issue, the first advice would be for you to upgrade to the latest patchset, 4.1.48 or later. There is a good chance that this issue, if a bug, may have been fixed in a subsequent release.
The other option would be to take a look at Metalink.Oracle.com and see this issue has been reported earlier.

  • Pivot and chart drill down

    Hi ,
Could anyone please let me know how to drill down in pivot and related chart report .
As because when I drill i get a table view instead of chart.
    Regards,
    Megha

    Hi,
I believe you are trying to show chart of your pivot table as well in your pivot view. I tried and I can drill down from both chart and its pivot table.
You need to select drill option under Interaction tab of Additional Charting Option properties of this chart. Save your report and see if drill down in pivot table and in chart in the Pivot view is working.

  • How to drill down and keep all my pivot table...

    Hello experts!
I have a question about how to drill-down in pivot table. If I drill-down I can see the result in the same place...but it dissapear other bins or measures...
    Example:
    Pivot table:
    A
    B
    C
If I click in A I can see:
    a1
    a2
    a3
    But I don't see B and C.
I would like to see when I click on A:
    A
    ---a1
    ---a2
    ---a3
    B
    C
In my example I have a lot of bins to do drill-down...so it doesn't work for me to create three pivot tables and to do a union...
Is that possible? If you need more details you can post here...
    Thank you!

Alex, this isn't another question. It looked like you were asking something different. That's why I said to start another thread. The bottom line is that OBIEE can't do what you are looking for.
But I think what is more important is not necessarily how to do what the OP wants, but what is the best way (read: most efficient, simplest, viable) to achieve the goal.
In this case, I think a better approach to your reporting is to use to Dashboard prompts. The first would be like Vehices (which has Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, etc. in the drop-down window) and the second, constrained on the first, called Models/Brands (which has values dependent on what is chosen in the first prompt). With "All Choices" checked off in the prompt design, you have all the combinations a user needs to see in the pivot table. If the user chooses "Cars" from the first prompt, and "All Choices" in the second, then he/she will get all the car models displayed in the pivot table. Or, the user could select one particular moded from the start.
In fact, this is how many product web sites are set up. This gives the flexibility to the user and the report looks clean and efficient. You can have the drill down on the particular model (value interaction) if you wish to supply extra data on the particular model chosen.
I think this is the "correct" answer, Alex, though not the answer to the question you posed. Good luck.

  • Drill down ( Collapsible Row ) Report in BEx query designer ?

    Dear Friends!
I am supoosed to create a report drill down report for Purchasing History to be precise,  I know that we can have drill down feature using heirarchy but is it possible for Us to have PO & PO item heirarachy ? or any other way to do drill down reporting in SAP BEx Query designer ?
like my current report is : -
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
Now I am supposed to create a report  in which
    normal view
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | |> PO Number| .... ( keyfigures) | Payment |
drill down or collapsible view ( please consider the heading as data I am not talking about dynamically change of  headings ).
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | V PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
is there anyway to design the report in above mention manner ? you any input will be appreciated greatly.
    Thank you so much!
    Regards
    Naim

    Hi Naim,
usually we don't do the transactional data as hierarchy.  not sure the reason behind your requirement.
we can do one of the below :-
    1. To have the default view as
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | | PO Number| .( keyfigures) | Payment |
and then user can drill down on rest of the characteristics for detailed view later on.
    2. or if they don't want to drill down on characteristics;-
we can build 2 reports , one for header level information and then jump to second query for detailed information(item level) using RRI.
    first query:
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | | PO Number| .( keyfigures) | Payment |
    second query:
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant |  PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
Let us know if this works out?

  • Drill Down Report using Crystal reports in eclipse and jspviewer

    Hi
I want to understand how to write a drill down report since I have a requirement for my project, so I tried to run the sample drill down.rpt that is available with Crystal Reports 2008 Complete Reference book by George Peck.
I can see the results correctly( i.e. can drill down) in the preview tab . Since I am working inside the eclipse, the way I run the reports is first  "Create report viewer JSP" by right clicking the report and have a url mapping to this jsp. I am running the reports from a hyperlink that maps to the url which will launch the jsp.
    the jsp is:-
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1" %><%@ taglib uri="/crystal-tags-reportviewer.tld" prefix="crviewer" %><crviewer:viewer reportSourceType="reportingComponent" viewerName="Drill Down-viewer" reportSourceVar="Drill Down" isOwnPage="true" allowDrillDown="true">
         <crviewer:report reportName="reports/Drill Down.rpt" />
    </crviewer:viewer>
The one that was created by  "Create report viewer JSP" did not had "allowDrillDown" attribute at all .But I added it since it isnt working.
So when I launch my web app and click on the link to run the report, I get the report results but only to the summary level. When I double click the summary level I get a 404 error page.
Can please anyone suggest what is going on.
    Thanks
    poonam

Ok. So, you added the report to the project. Now we have to add the CR assemblies to the project, add the viewer (if need be) and fire it off. Simplest code would be:
    Public Sub New()
' This call is required by the designer.
            InitializeComponent()
' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
            CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = ("path to report")
        End Sub
In this case you are using the viewer SDK to runt he report. The report will prompt for any logon parameters - but you can code these also. You can load the report via the engine as bellow. Again, the report will prompt. I prefer to use the engine as it is way more "extensible"...
    Public Sub New()
' This call is required by the designer.
            InitializeComponent()
' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
            Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
            crReportDocument.Load("path to report")
'Bind the report to the viewer
            CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
        End Sub
If you have a report added to the project (strongly typed) the code would be:
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = New myReport()
For more details, I'd recommend looking at the sample app vbnet_win_simplepreviewreport.zip available from the following location:

  • Drill down report is showing popup even though it's disable in column properties

    Hello,
I am facing an functionality issue where I have crated Summary to drill down report. Summary is chart and drill down is table view and I am using OBIEE Action link  here.
Now I have disabled the Popup in column properties so when user click the bar on the graph they will directly navigate to detail report. But strangely after disabling the Popup, when i click on bar the drilldown report is coming as popup link.
does anyone has any idea how to handle this issue??

It would seem to be a issue with either the hardware of the printer or the replacement cartridge. If it is the cartridge, it should be covered under warranty (if it is HP genuine) since you just purchased it. At this time I think that your best move would be to contact HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you.
The only other option would be to try another new replacement cartridge to rule in or out the cartridge being at fault.

  • To display drill down values in the same table

    Dear Friends,
Suppose if you apply drill down on one object, it wont appear upper level values of that perticular object. If you want to display all levels of values in the same report during drill down.

From your view I belive that currently you have a structure in Rows containing Shipping and Sales for Current and Last year. Moreover, you have Year in the column and that is the reason you are getting the numbers in two different columns.
My suggestion is like this, remove the KFs from the selection of the structure and keep the name of each of the elements as it is. Remove Year from the Column and include them into selections of the structure elements.
Add the KFs, shipping and Sales into COlumns. Now as you already have restrictions into your selection, your numbers will be restricted in the output, but again here you will have Shipping coming in one column and Sales will be another column.
But you have above mentioned structure, you can include the cell refercing into the query. Overwrite the value of cells at the intersection (Shipping / Current Year) or (Shipping / Last Year) with the adjustant cells which will be (Sales / Current Year) and (Sales / Last Year).
    ______________________Shipping_____Sales
    Shipping (Current Year)______1000
    Sales (Current Year)__________________1000
    Shipping (Last Yera)_________2000
    Sales (Last Year)_____________________5000
After you apply cell referencing, 1000 and 5000 sales will be filled in the empty cells next of shipping next to sales.

  • SmartView - Error when i drill down many records

    Hi,
Our users are currently receiving the error "Invalid Pointer", when trying to refresh Smart View reports or when users are trying to drill down.
Do you know how many records can i see using drill down in smart view.
And if this number of records can be change?
    Thanks!

If you're just trying to increase the number of rows that can be retrieved, see: Maximum rows exceed in SmartView
Do you get an error in the applicaiton log? Essbase log? I ask because I wonder if the error is SmartView/Hyperion Provider Services related or from the database.

  • Drill down on Chart in CR XI R2

    HI
I am using Crystal Report XI R2 to design reports. And we are inviking CR through Java API(GWT).
Does Crystal report supports Drill Down on Chart (Clicking on pie should bring up the related detailes section).
I could see it n designer , But CR Viewer is displaying chart as image so I do not see Drill down enablen in viewer.
Do we need to do use some API or Setting to enable in viewer. Or I am doing something wrong.

While installing, you were asked to enter a MySQL root user and a BusinessObjects user. You can install MySQL Administrator and Query Browser to log on to your DB.
    http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/gui-tools/5.0.html
I don't think I understood your question completely though, if you installed Crystal Reports Server with MySQL as CMS database, the installation process will have configured and set up MySQL as your CMS db automatically.

  • Drill down reort.

    what is drill down report?
what is the difference between drill down & normal rports?
    plz send me.

    Hi,
    Drill Down Report:
As the name suggests you can drill down further to view details from basic the list. It has more than one level.
    Example:
You have a repor that displays header documents. You would like to see the item details by clicking on the document number in the initial list. In the item list, you wuold like to see shcedule line details, hence click on item and view the schedule line.
i.e. it has three levels, first level - header data, second level - item data of the corresponding document, third level - shcedule line data of the corresponding item.
    1st Level:
    Document1 Date Vendor1
    Document2 Date Vendor1 etc.
on clicking on 2nd Document1, you would get something like this:
    Document1:
    item1 material1 quantity
    item2 material2 quantity
on clicking on particular item (lets say item2) you would get something like this:
    item1
    scheduleline1 quantity
    scheduleline2 quantity
    Normal Report:
It has only one level. You would have to display all the data in one screen. At times it looks clumsy to put header, item, and schedule line details in one report. Hence, we would go for drill down reports.
    Ex:
    Document1 Date Vendor1
    Item1 material1 quantity
    scheduleline1 quantity
    scheduleline2 quantity
    Item2 material1 quantity
    scheduleline1 quantity
    scheduleline2 quantity
    Document2 Date Vendor1
    Item1 material1 quantity
    scheduleline1 quantity
    scheduleline2 quantity
    Item2 material1 quantity
    scheduleline1 quantity
    scheduleline2 quantity
    Hope this will help.
    Regards,
    Naveen.

  • Drill Down within Xcelsius

    Hi all,
I know that it is possible to use a "Pie Chart" and Drill Down into a "Column Chart" by clicking on any of the sections included within the Pie Chart. (I have already done that).
    My question:
Is it possible to drill down from the "Column Chart" (obtained by clicking on the Pie Chart) and generate an output  "tt" by clicking on any of the Columns?
Sequence: Pie Chart --- Drill Down into --> Column Chart - Drill Down into> List View
Many thanks in advance and Happy New Year 2010.
    Best regards,
      Imanol

Drill Down is also possible in Column Chart as it is in Pie Chart. you can get details here:

  • Pivot Table Navigate (drill-down) to Detail

I have a simple pivot table containing summary data (measures):

    A-----$2---------$7-----------$4-------
    B-----$8---------$5-----------$1-------
    C-----$3---------$7-----------$5-------
I would like to navigate to a new view (or Dashboard) if the user click on one of the measures - simulate the effect of drilling down to detail by showing the detail behind a measure. Is something like this possible in OBIEE?

Yes, "use the Force." :)In the Criteria tab of the source Request, click on Column Properties of the measure column and then on Column Format. Under Value Interaction, change the default to Navigation and then, via the Browse button, select the detail destination Request you created. In the destination Request, add the "Is Prompted" filter to the measure column, the column that represents the row (A, B, etc.) and the Year column.
