Drill Filters In Block

Hi All,
    I have created a report with two separate tables namely Block1 and Block2.
   I have enabled a drill filters in my report.It reflects both the blocks.
   But the requirements is,I need a drill filters only for my Block2.
   How can I achieve this?Can anyone please help to solve this?

You can use for Block1 the objects from the first query only.
For example:
=[Query1].[Region]
and for block2 you use the merged dimension:
=[Region]
If it doesn't work you can try this other way of solving it (check this link):

Is it possible to have individual Drill Filters for each block of a report in BO XI R2? Suppose i have a Cross tab report and graph in the same report, and i want to apply individual Drill FIlters for Cross Tab Report and Graph. Can we do this in BO XI R2?

Problems with drill filters

In BO XI, I am facing problems with drill filters. I have a report with eight tabs and each tab has data corresponding to a particular value in the drill filter. A particular value is selected from the drill filter and the corresponding data is displayed in each tab. I need to select a value from the drill filter and display the corresponding data in the tab; while doing so when i save the report and open it again, the data corresponding to the particular filter value is not present instead it displays all the data. The only other way i could solve this problem was by creating a report level filter in each tab but this doesnt seem to work in other reports. What is the proper way of using the drill filter in this case?

Environment - BO XI 3.2, SP 2, FP 3.6
Source - BI 7
I have requirement for the end users , that they should only able to access the reports and refresh them. I have achieved this, but with these access users are not able to view the drill filter applied in the reports. Could you please help that where am I lacking or which other access I need to provide so that user should be able to have refresh on demand + drill filters access in report.

Have you given the right ""Work in Drill Mode" on apllication level for hte perticuler user.

Drill Filters?

Hello Experts,
I have a report where there is some drilling in it. In the report there are upward pointing arrows all throughout, and also there is a drill filter pane showing any drill filters present. I know that if I turn drill mode off all of the arrows and drill filter pane go away. I want to be able to show the drill filter pane, but not the arrows that are in every column and every cell within the report. These arrows are covering some of the values, and it just doesnt look nice. The client likes that the drill filter pane is showing the dimensions with a dropdown menu, therefore I simply cannot just turn the drill mode off. Is there anyway to just display the drill filter pane and not the arrows?
I would really appreciate some advice on this.

The problem I have is that I do not have access to the universe, so I am unable to see/change how these objects are being exported to BOXI.
What I did as a workaround was, I created variables based on the exact objects then dragged these variables into the report, because we cannot drill up/down on variables. I was able to keep the 'Drill Filter Pane' in the report while drill mode is on, and no arrows are showing(object was not underlined anymore).
@ Stratos, I am using horizontal tables in the report on BOXI r2, puzzling why the arrows are in all of the cells rather than just the headers!
Thanks again for your time and help. I will leave it unsanwered till end of day incase someone sees any ill-effect my workaround may pose. Points have been assigned to both!

Windows 7 Built-In Firewall Filtering Platform Blocking Outlook.exe Even Though Firewall Off

I first encountered this problem on a Windows 7 computer running Outlook 2007 a couple of weeks ago. The system kept asking the primary user for a password to connect to our Exchange Service. The user kept typing in the correct password, but it would never
connect. Using Outlook Web Access from the same computer with the same user and password was successful, so the credentials and network connection seemed good.
After checking the Security Logs, I found pairs of Event 5152 and 5157 whenever the user tried to enter a password. Example events are listed below (although they are from the most recent incidence). I found out that the Filtering Platform is supposed to
be part of Windows Firewall, but couldn't find much other information about it. However, the Windows Firewall is turned off by Group Policy (verified by looking in the Control Panel for Window Firewall), so I didn't think it should be blocking anything. Oddly
enough, the Windows Firewall service was running on this computer, but it was running on all computers, even if they didn't have this problem.
I found that I could make the problem go away by stopping the Windows Firewall service. However, it seems odd that would be necessary. It seems a bit of a kludgy fix.
I hoped that the problem would only by on one system and could let it go for a bit. Unfortunately, I just had the problem crop up on a new Windows 7 system with Outlook 2010 installed.
At this point, I'm concerned about what might be causing it and that it might start happening on all our systems. I could stop the Windows Firewall service on all of them, but I'd like to understand what might be happening more before taking that action.
For reference, both systems have received all Automatic Updates and are running the McAfee Total Protection Service anti-virus and firewall services.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi indyvql,

- So you've enabled McAfee firewall? If you have McAfee firewall turned on, then everything is managed by McAfee Personal Firewall which might cause the issue.
To troubleshoot the issue, I would suggest we first disable McAfee temporarily, then try again.
Also, as you've mentioned, please go ahead to have a test with just updating McAfee but not stopping the Windows Firewall service, then verify result.

Drill filters in Webi

Hello All,
I have the following requirement in Webi XIR 3.1..
I have a hierarchy defined as Country,State,City and Area..When i right click on Country,i have options to drill by which shows State,City and Area..I need to capture the option which the user clicks on drill by (either State,City,Area) so that i can display a table related to that particular dimension..
If i use DrillFilters function,it shows me the values of a particular dimension..This does not work out for my requirement..
Please let me know if there is any way to capture State or City or Area..

Yes. You can achieve this functionality through "Drill Across" in WebI.
For this you need to create a separate hierarchy and link to main hierarchy in Universe level.

Drill down in several blocks at the same time

Hi all!
I have two charts. Both are based on same drillable dimension, with different measures.
Is there any way to drill down on both charts (or tables) by clicking in only one of them? It is, when I click on a dim in chart1, chart1 and chart2 drill down by the dim value clicked on chart1. I hope I made myself clear...
For the record, I checked "Synchronize drill on report blocks" under WebIntelligence user preferences, but still doesn't work.

The "Syncronize Drill" option should cause this to work. Are you sure they are the same dimension on the same report tab? And are they coming from the same query?

Drill Filter parameters getting changed when "Refresh on Open"

Hi Experts,
WEBI reports have some drill filters inside the tabs, saved with default values (for Ex MTD)
when user opens these report, it starts with the value which was saved in the report .
Recently we made these reports as u2018Refresh on Openu2019 to enforce authorizations.
Now when these report are opened by users and refreshed, the original parameters of drill filters with which the report was saved, is lost ( as all the data is purged).
So are you aware of any settings with which we can save the reports with some default values in the drill filters and still make it u2018Refresh on Openu2019.

Try this approach.
Create a local variable which woul act a a global filter in the report -
1. Drill Filter = If (Length(DrillFilters())=0; "MTD")
2. Display Flag = If ([Drill Filter]=[*TD]; "Show")
*[TD] is the object which has MTD, QTD, or YTD values.
Include this object in the report block, Apply filter on Show.

Cisco internet filtering for cisco asa 5515x

hi all,
i know either websense or smartfilter (btw, mcaffee is now not selling smart filter anymore) can be used in 5515x internet filtering but does cisco have it's own filtering software for its product? please don't give an appliance, my company is small.
I'm tempting to use the default CLI command but there's no reporting on it i think. Can it provide reporting for user access? If it yes, please provide on how to do that.

I just installed the ASA CX (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps12521/index.html) onto my software module on the ASA 5512-X. All it required was a SSD and license for the software. If you know anything about the Ironport Web Security Appliances, ASA CX is basically the IronPort WSA running on the sw-module of the ASA.
The on-box version of the reporting/configuration engine (Cisco Prime Security Manager "PRSM") is simple but effective. Longer-term storage and drill-down reports requires an appliance or VMware virtual machine with the full-blown PRSM.
The neat thing about the CX is the ability to block not just domains, but drill down and block specific application features. Say you want to block Facebook Games but not Facebook itself, it is a simple configuration on the ASA CX.
I believe there is also a cloud version of it you can purchase, but I'm not sure of the details.

How to change drill filter values of all reports at the same time

Hi,
The Webintelligence users in our environment usuallly use drill filters in their document's reports. We'd like to find a way to change the drill filters' values of all reports when one value is selected. I mean, we need a work around to change the drill filters of all reports at the same time.
We are using Business Objects XI 3.1 (a lot of webintelligence documents available, over than 2500).
Does someone know a way to do that? I've already looked for that a lot, but I couldn't find anything.

If you are using ALV standard functionality then if you are sorting with field then it will consider only that field. but if the data for other field also same then it will sort based on first field only but it will look like it is consider second field also.
If you are using standard functionality then you can not impletement logic that first field get selected and sorted by second even if its values are same.

Webi authorization for drill down

Hi all,
we have made a report based on bex query with BW hierarchy. Our users can acces the correct hierarchy node (based on authorization in bw) but they cant drill down the data even when there is a "+" sign next to the hierarchy node. Can someone tell me which authorization should i enable for them to drill down the report ?
