Drilldonw Icon in BEx Analyzer 3.5 with Excel 2010

We have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and Office 2010. After the Upgrade in 3.5 Workbooks, when we drill down, instead of seeing an Arrow (to be clicked to open the details), we see a Square which can not be used to drill-down.
Has any one experienced thsi issue?
Thanks

  • Error when using BeX Analyzer 7.0 with Excel 2007

When i try to execute a query in BeX analyzer 7.0 and my microsoft excel version is 2007, there will always have a fatal error showing. However, when i use the Bex Analyzer 3.5 , i could execute the query.
    Anyway to solve this problem?

You need to do the following
Identify the SAP GUI version you're using, 6.40 or 7.10, and the patch level.
Identify the BW or BI Add-on and patch level of it.
From there, check to see if the versions you have actually support BI 7.0 and Excel 2007.  Reliable Excel 2007 support requires failry current patch levels of both the SAP GUI and the corresponding BW/BW Add-ons..
Do you have access to a PC that has a more recent version of the SAP GUI and BW/ BI Add-on?  If so, try using that PC and see if you still have the problem.

  • BEx Analyzer: Formula Variable with Replacement path change Month with Day

Hi experts I'm facing this issue in BEx Analyzer.
I need to have some dates in format DD/MM/YYYY in Index Structure, in order to do this I've created a formula variable with replacement path referenced to 0CALDAY characteristic.
The formula works but it behaves in a strange way:
if the day is higher than 12 the displaied result is correct (DD/MM/YYYY)
if the day is lower or equal 12 the displaied result is wrong (MM/DD/YYYY)
    I'm on BW 7.01 SP6 and BEx Analyzer 7.10 SP12, excel 2007.
anybody has faced this issue before?
    any help will be appreciated
    Daniele Cortopassi

    Hi Daniele,
This seems pretty strange. Pls. redo validation with the dump data, as being a flat struture BEx does not apply any logic changes. May be it might have been MM/DD/YYYY format as in workbooks. Else you may change the property of 0calday display as "Text". Business Explorer > Display > KeyMaster Data/Texts > Texts (Plese check this option). If you are using some text table you may maintain the same using BI0/TCALDAY (Similar to BI0/TCALMONTH2). Guess it should be an excel based issue; if not you may try the same in WAD/Report designer to verify the nature of the issue. If you don't face these inconsistencies in WAD/RD then you may change excel formatting options. Lastly, please let us know if the infoobject has some predefined settings in RSA1 > Infoobject > (BEx) Properites.

  • BEx Analyzer: Exchange characteristics with design item "Button"

    Hello everyone,
I am creating a workbook with the BEx Analyzer. The user should be able to exchange one characteristic with another one by a button click (e.g. replace the drilldown of characteristic product group by a drilldown of customers).
I inserted a button in the design mode and edited it with the command wizard.
In the area for the static parameters I inserted the following:
    Name/Index/Value
    DATA_PROVIDER/1/DP_1
    CMD/1/EXCHANGE
    IOBJNM_1/1/Product Group
    IOBJNM_2/1/Customer
I tried several variations of this, but they all didn't work.
Does anyone know how to define such a command?
Thanks in advance for your answer,
    Rainer

    Hi,
Button Design item is used to perform three types of functionalities
    1. Workbook specific Commands : these are helpful in performing any changes or navigations in the workbook. For example moving from one sheet to another on the click of the button can be realised.
    2. Planning Specific Commands : these are used mostly when a planning scenario is realized using the Bex workbook. Planning commands usually would be to save data in the workbook created on an input ready query to the plan cube, or to execute a planning function or a sequence.
    3. Data provider specific commands : Commands used to change data based on a spcfiic dataprovider.
Let me know if you are looking at anything else other than this.

  • BEx Analyzer: Display values with Zero data

    Hi,
I urgently need to know something about BEx QD/Analyzer:
If I drilldown e.g. Customer into the rows, it only shows me those customers for which there are values in place. However, I need to see all Customers, i.e. also the ones where the values are zero.
How can I do this in Bex Analyzer or if needed BEx QD.
    Thanks
    Sabine

    Thanks,
but it won't be possible to create a multiprovider just for that.
    Maybe I wasn't clear enough
If a have Customer A, Cust B and Cust C and I drilldown by customer in the rows, then the system only shows me Cust B and Cust C, because for a there has been e.g. no turnover in one specific month.
But in the drilldown in the report, I still want to see Cust A as well, even though the value is zero. So I should just see an empty line (instead of the key figures for Cust A).
Guys, that must be possible!! Help me
    Sabine

  • Problem opening BEx Analyzer Workbook (saved in Excel 2007) in Excel 2003!!

    Dear all:
I know there are threads about this issue and numerous support tickets have been provided, but we still can't get any Excel 2007 Query to be opened by Excel 2003.
I have tried to save Excel 2007 BEx Analyzer Query into 97-2003 XLS format. But when we reopened (by both Excel 03 and 07), it prompted the warning messages and broke down the query workbook into several sheets with scrambled data. What am I missing here...? According to the support ticket, it seemed pretty straightforward just by saving the format to 2003 XLS, but in reality it just doesn't work as "advertised"
    Thank you...!!!
    Brian

I have the solution for this.
    It works to my environment.
    Follow the steps :
    1. you must open the xlsx workbook from Bex Analyzer.
    2. Save As workbook locally to your PC for excel 97-2003
(Not "save as" from bex Toolbar but from      excel)
    3. Now save that workbook with Save As->Workbook from Bex Toolbar into your BI database.
Now go to detail properties of your workbook and there you can see the format xls for your workbook.
    Good Luck

  • BE Analyzer not working with Excel 2007 / Gui 710

    Hi
I am working on a machine that has MS Office 2007 installed.
Here I am experiencing problems with BEx Analyzer.
The program starts up fine, I can connect to the BI server, see my excisting queries and workbooks when I press "Open" (created on a PC with Office 2003 installed) but as soon as I try to execute either of them I get an error:
    "A Critical program error occured.
    The program has to close.
Please refer to the trace for further information."
The same error occurs if I try to insert a query to a new workbook.
    Background info:
    SAP Gui 710, Patch 1
    Support Pack Stack 12
According to the documentation I have found the combination of MS Excel 2007 and Gui 710 should be supported.
    Johnny H.
PS I have added the SAP folders to my "trusted locations", and I have also marked the "Trust access to the VBA project object model" in the Excel options.

    Hi,
I'm running SAP Gui 710 patch 3 and the BW add on 710 patch 1 on a Vista with Office 2007 and it runs well. I would suggest to download the latest patches on service.sap.com/swdc

  • Excel Analyzer template problems with Excel 2003

There are numerous common problems when using Excel Analyzer templates with the Analyzer Add-In for Excel 2003:
The following problems have been found in the latest version of the stand-alone BI Publisher version 10.1.3.3.2:
    1) If your report name is more than 24 characters long, the Excel Analyzer template will never open in Excel. The error is completely uninformative, too. The reason is that the Analyzer template tries to make a tab in the Excel file called <report_name>.xdo. Since tab names can only be about 26 characters long, Excel chokes when opening the file. It would have been nice if BI Publisher printed an error when encountering this situation.
    2) If your report produces too many rows, Excel will time out when opening the Analyzer template. Again, the error in this case is completely uninformative. In fact it appears no different from the error in (1). Excel 2003 is supposed to have a row limit of 65,000, but we can't get the Excel Analyzer template to open with more than about 15,000 rows. This is a completely unacceptable limitation if you're going to be making pivot tables in Excel. This is a processing time-out problem, which cannot be remedied by changing any settings in BI Publisher.
    3) If you use the data in your Excel Analyzer template to make a wide report, like maybe one column for each day in the year, because maybe you want to plot the data over a full year, then forget about opening this report successfully. Since the number of days in a year is more than 256, Excel will choke when trying to open the template. No informative error here either.
    4) If you're going to make a Pivot Chart in Excel, in the Analyzer template, then your reports cannot produce more than 256 rows. I'm not talking columns, I'm talking ROWS people! No more than 256 rows. This is because Pivot Charts require creating a sideways pivot table, which means your rows end up as columns. This is the only way to plot data with time on the x-axis, which is where it should almost always be.

  • Excel inplace (ALV) with Excel 2010

    Hi,
we have changed our workstation to windows 7 and Office 2010. Now i have a problem
with excal inplace of ALV. When i switch to excel inplace I don't find any way to save or save as the excel.
    The button "datei" isn't activ.
    Has anyone an idea?
We use GUI 720 patch 4.
    Regards, Dieter

A simple workaround working is to "Customize the Quick Access Toolbar" in Excel 2010 itself from the File (Backstage) menu.  add the "Save As" icon which carried forward in SAPGUI Excel inplace and now users can at least choose where to save their work as needed.

  • CSV file encoded as UTF - 8 loses characters when displayed with excel 2010

    Hello everybody,
I have adapted a customer report to be able to send certain data via mail a a CSV attachment.
For that purpose I am using class cl_bcs.
Everything goes fine, but since mail attachment contains certain german characters as Ü, when displaying it with excel those characters appear as corrupted.
It seems the problem is with excel, because when opening the same file with notepad, the Ü is there. If I import the file to excel with the importer, it is correct too.
Anyway, is there any solution to this problem?
I have tried concatenating byte_order_mark_utf8 in the beginning of the file, but still excel does not recognize it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pablo.

    - Does ms excell actually support UTF-8
Yes. I believed that we installed some international add-on which is not in default installnation. Anyway, other UTF-8 or UTF-16 file can be openned and viewed by Excel without any problem.
    - have you verifide that the file is viewable as a UTF-8 -encoded file
I think so. If I open it into Notepad and choose "save as", the file type if UTF-8 file
    - Try opening the file in a program you are confident
that it support UTF-8 - eg. Mozilla...
    I will try that.
    - Check that your UTF-8 -encoded file has a UTF-8 identifier (0xFEFF ?)
    as the first character
The unicode-16(LE or BE) file I got from internet, I found there is always two bytes in the front. (0xFEFF or 0xFFFE). My UTF-8 file generated by java doesn't have that. But should UTF-8 file also has this kind of specifcal bytes in the front? If I manually add these bytes in the front of my file using Ultraeditor and open it in Excel2000, it didn't help.
    - Try using another spreadsheet program that supports UTF-8
Do you know any other spreadsheet program supports csv file and UTF-8.

  • Excel 2013 VBA Compatible with Excel 2010

    Hello,
I am new at working with VBA and have a question regarding an excel sheet with a VBA macro inserted.
The sheet was created in Excel 2013 by another user, and my laptop runs Excel 2010.  I get script errors when I run it, however on Excel 2013 it works fine.
My question is: Is there a way to make Excel 2010 work with Excel 2013 VBA scripts? Perhaps importing the library from Excel 2013 VBA to E-2010?  Or perhaps a way to save a VBA script in E-2013 to be backwards compatible with E-2010?
Thank you all for your support.

    Open the workbook.
    Select Tools > References...
The references that are in use have their check box ticked. They are all at the top of the list. Do any of those start with MISSING?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The first Mac with Thunderbolt was the Early 2011 MacBook Pro. If you have got a 2010 MacBook Pro, you have got Mini DisplayPort instead of Thunderbolt, which are the same, but Mini DisplayPort can't be used to connect external disks.
To check which MacBook Pro you have, open  > About this Mac > More Info, and you will see the MacBook Pro model. If it's Mid 2010 or older, you haven't got Thunderbolt, so you have to connect the external drive through USB
