Driver Store upload problem

Hi all. I have installed a new OES Linux SP1 with iPrint. I have created a
ne w Driver Store, when I try to upload a driver from file, all is done and
seem is ok ( I get the message that say all is ok), but no drivers appears
on the drivers list. If I try to upload a driver from system, all work ok,
and I get a driver in the list.

  • HOW TO upload linux drivers to OES SP2 linux driver store

    Hi everyone,
I couldn't get iprntcmd to upload a linux driver to OES SP2 driver
store. Tried everything. Drove me crazy.
The solution I finally came up with is multi-step but it works. Do
    this as root.
    First:
You can't upload the drivers in compressed form (.gz extension) so to
    expand them all you run
for filename in /usr/share/cups/model/*.gz; do gunzip
    /usr/share/cups/model/ "$filename";done
This expands all the zipped files in the driver directory.
    Second:
Run the following to upload the drivers to the driver store:
for filename in /usr/share/cups/model/*.ppd; do iprntman driver linux
-upload -username admin -P novell -from-ppd
    /usr/share/cups/model/"$filename";done
Obviously, you need to substitute your own username and password (-P
parameter). If you don't add the username and password, you'll be
prompted for them for each driver uploaded.
It's not pretty, but it'll get you there.
    Regards,
    Don

  • Itunes Store Gift problem

I sent an Itunes Store Gift to my daughter but, not thinking, (stupidly?) we redeemed with my account open instead of hers. She has fiddled around with work-arounds (dragging the songs to thumb-drive then uploading on to her Itunes account) but can't get the songs to sync on to her Ipod. I suspect this is a simple security issue as Itunes/Ipod thinks she is basically trying to get the songs without paying. Is there any other option to fixing this problem? She is 13 years old and quite "emotional" about not being able to get her gift. The issue may be complicated by trying to fix while running between Itunes 8 on the iMac DV and Itunes 9.2 on the MacBook Pro.

Try playing those songs through iTunes - perhaps they just need to be authorized. In case you'll be asked to authorize those tracks enter your ID/PW.

  • Driver selection/upload tabs missing in iManager

I have symptoms similar to the ones in TID 7005243,
    at least :
    * Unable to see Driver tab in Driver Store's Properties in iManager

Strange enough I can create driver profiles and assign existing drivers to new printers.
My environment is OES 2 SP1 Linux

Check in either the iprint or imanager forums. There's a diff. TID you have to use to fix it.
After patching, you may have problems with iPrint Plugins in iManager on OES2 SP2. Check out TID #7005152. Youll have to change the property pages for two objects.

  • OSD Failed to add driver to driver store. Code 0x8022001b

    Hello,
I am stuck at applying a Dell driver packages with SCCM 2007.
It's for the Dell Optiplex 7010 & Dell Latitude E6530
    82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
I tried the Dell driver package but it kept failing and I ended up in creating a driver package with just the network driver but it also keeps failing.
I don't know what to do anymore because I really need to have a successful network driver installation to continue the deployment. The driver is working fine in WINPE because there I have an IP and Windows7 is installed(PXE deployment) but it fails installing
the driver on Windows7. I have also tried the latest driver from Intel (18.2).

  • Need a fix for Muse upload problems to GoDaddy????  I found one!

GoDaddy now has a new cpanel named "Plesk".  In that panel you will find File Manager.  (I use the Windows version).  In the left panel of File Manager, you will see the root directory and all of its subfolders.  When you click on any of these folders, you will see their contents in the right panel.  You will also see a folder labelled "httpdocs".  This is the default folder that is set up in GoDaddy to be your "home" folder.  So, to fix your upload problems, do these steps:
    1.  Click on the httpdocs folder to see it open in the right panel.  In the toolbar above the right panel, you will see a green plus sign with the word "New".  Click on this drop-down menu.
    2.  Choose "directory"
    3.  Type in the name of one of the folders that your site will need, e.g. images, css, assets, scripts, etc.  This basically creates a subfolder within the httpdocs folder, right?  (There is a way to see how your Muse site sets up these folders prior to publish or upload.  You do this by choosing "Export as HTML" in the File menu of Muse, creating a folder on your desktop (or wherever) for the HTML export, then inspecting its contents after your save it.)
    4.  Continue to create all the subfolders within httpdocs that you will need.  Unfortunately, you have to do this one folder at a time.
    5.  After you have them set up, begin the process of uploading your site, like this:
    6.  In the File menu in Muse, you'll of course see "Upload to FTP Host ...".  Click on it.
    7.  A dialog box will open.  In the top text field, type in your website name ... you must use www. with your entry
    8.  In the "FTP Host" field, type in your domain name again like this ... "ftp.yourdomain.com" ... NO FORWARD SLASHES!!! (even if you find instructions to the contrary, like in Filezilla)  (Also, your domain might be a .org or .net, instead of a .com)
    9.  In the "Host directory" field, YOU MUST ENTER "httpdocs"!!!!  Despite what you learn, DO NOT LEAVE THIS FIELD BLANK!!!
    10.  Then enter your GoDaddy username and password.  (If you set up a different username for your GoDaddy account and your Plesk account, like I did, then use your Plesk username and password.)
    11.  Click on "Upload:  All Files"
The next few steps are tedious, but necessary to keep your site organized on GoDaddy and to keep from confusing things.  You can probably get away with it, but, if your site doesn't load properly in a browser after doing the above steps, you'll need to click on each folder in the root directory that you copied as a subfolder in the "httpdocs" folder and delete the files.  For example, in the left panel of File Manager, you'll see the root directory.  Click on the "images" folder.  If there are any images that you need for your site in that folder, delete them.  Remember ... you've already copied them over to the images subfolder in httpdocs during your last upload described in the instructions above.  If you don't trust that you can delete them, click on the "httpdocs" folder, then click on the "images" folder and check the files.  Same files, right?  So, go ahead and delete the site files that you find in the appropriate folders in the root directory, making sure that you don't delete the ones that are NOT duplicated within the "httpdocs" folder.  Also remember that your .html pages will not require a subfolder to be set up in the "httpsdocs" folder.  They can just sit there, looking pretty.  But you will have to delete them from the root directory to keep things tidy.  Just click on the folder icon next to "root directory", and you'll see those html pages in the right panel.  Again, delete them.
REMEMBER:  To keep your Muse uploads to your GoDaddy site error free, you must ALWAYS make sure that "httpdocs" appears in the "Host directory" field in the "Upload to FTP Host ..." dialog box in Muse.  And all files and folders that your site needs MUST go in the "httpdocs" folder in the root directory of your site in GoDaddy's File Manager (now found in your Plesk Panel).
I hope this wasn't too confusing.  If so, call GoDaddy.  I called them with this fix and they are using it in their phone support.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was going out of my mind. And GoDaddy was no help (although they're usually really good.) I put all the folders in "httpdocs" and the website worked perfectly!

It just stops there and won't continue to boot. Disconnecting the SATA cable from my CD drive and using a flash drive to boot fixes these issues, but I didn't continue with the install because I wasn't sure if I would be unable to boot with the drive plugged in later. This is my CD drive. It's connected to a SATA 6GB/s port on my motherboard. The drive works perfectly in Windows.
Also, if anyone knows anything about the USB error, help would be appreciated. That was the only error that did not go away after disconnecting my CD drive. I only have a keyboard, mouse, and WiFi dongle plugged in.

Your issue with the SATA disc drive is a problem with Udev. Namely that some SATA disc drives do not support 16-byte pass-through commands coming from Udev. See this post for a longer explanation and the correct workaround:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=895404
Other guides online will say to comment out parts of Udev's 60-persistent-storage.rules file, but I have found that to not only not work, but mess up detection of the SATA hard drives.
So, after, or during, Arch installation using your USB stick:
    Add
    options libata atapi_passthru16=0
    to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
    Add
    FILES="/etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf"
    to /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
    Rebuild kernel image with:
    mkinitcpio -p linux
    reboot
To narrow down your USB issue, maybe you could try booting with only one plugged in at a time to identify which one has the issue. Do they all three work even though one gives this message?

  • Macbook shuts off during start-up - can't get through safe-mode, single user mode (fsck -fy) and target-drive shows no problems when running disk utility repair

    Hi everyone,
I'm simply all out of ideas on what to do - my best guess is the problem is not specifically hard-drive related since all the 'normal' fixes just won't work.
What could be the cause of my issue? The only way i've managed to keep the Macbook Pro on for longer than a minute is through target drive, where it seems to work just fine - i can access everything. To sum up everything:
    1 - I tried resetting the PRAM
2 - I tried to go in to safe mode, it shut off before i could type the password
3 - I tried fsck -fy command from single user mode, sometimes i can get to actually typing it but mostly it shuts off before
4 - I tried to repair disk via target drive - success, no problems detected (and it didnt fix my issue)
    5 - I reinstalled OS Mavericks.
The Macbook Pro previously had some problems with the power-button not working properly (a mac-cunning friend of mine had to open up the mac and start it by swiping to metal pins on a specific (battery/power?) part inside it. The problem kinda went away afterwards but it might be related to this?
This is way off my comfort zone of 'diagnosing' issues, so I'm crossing fingers for some good advice.
    Thanks,
    Aske
    Denmark

    I think you're right.
If it's hardware related, is it possible to guess at what it might be? It would be nice to know how much I should expect to pay for a repair before actually getting it fixed.

  • Does PersistAllDeviceInstalls and/or DoNotCleanUpNonPresentDevices remove drivers from the driver store?

Let's say that I have three completely different computer models, and I want to add the drivers for them all to a single image using pnputil.exe.
    1. My understanding is that PersistAllDeviceInstalls and
DoNotCleanUpNonPresentDevices remove the actual install of the devices but not the
drivers themselves.  So, the drivers themselves should continue being installed in the driver store.  Is this understanding correct?
    2. If this is correct, then what exactly are PersistAllDeviceInstalls
and DoNotCleanUpNonPresentDevices changing?  What are they removing?
    3. If my understanding is correct, then if PersistAllDeviceInstalls
is set to false and DoNotCleanUpNonPresentDevices is set to false, then devices that have drivers previously added using pnputil.exe should automatically re-install themselves after Sysprep, right?
    Thanks for any clarification.

Yes,sysprep deletes any custom drivers from the store, because any added driver is seen as a specialization.
To preserve your added drivers you need to use PersistAllDeviceInstalls
     along with the DoNotCleanUpNonPresentDevices
    set to true switch.
    BUT
it is not raccomended to apply a sysprepped image with PersistAllDeviceInstalls
to machines that doesn't have identical hardware configuration because the results are impredictable (as happened in the casistic you described). It depends on what kind of drivers  you want to preserve though.
In your case i'll suggest to integrate the drivers you need offline with dism in order to bypass the sysprep behaviour, assuming that the utility you are using generates wim image type
To answer your question, yes, sysprep without the DoNotCleanUpNonPresentDevices
set to true will delete the custom drivers you added because those drivers aren't in use when sysprep runs.
If you want to gain a deeper understanding on sysprep here is the link of "how sysprep works":

How is your external drive formatted? Use Disk Utility to check the volume format. If it is NTFS, you will need to reformat the HDD as exFAT in order to retain universal compatibility (RW to it on both Mac and Windows).

  • A different uploading problem

I have read through the discussions and see that a lot of people are having an uploading problem. I am too, but my problem is a little different. When I upload my photos, everything seems to be fine, all the pages turn from blue to red, and it appears to be done. But, if I quit iWeb, it says it hasn't finished uploading. When I go to the site on the web, everything is there. So, it seems to not be finalizing the last little part where it marks the files as uploaded.
    I am using iWeb 1.1.1.
I have tried deleting the files from my iDisk and uploading again.
    I have repaired permissions.
I have deleted the file com.apple.iWeb.plist
It's not that I'm trying to quit too soon, I have left it for hours, even overnight, and it doesn't complete.
There's a small circle to the right of the word site that fills in to show progress as it's finishing, and that gets to the point where there's only a small sliver of white.
Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

  • Uploading problem with Ebay and Dreamweaver MX

I am unable to sync websites with Dreamweaver MX 6.01. When I connect to the remote server, it shuts down the program. I have reinstalled the program, but it still does it. Also, when I use Safari, Opera, and Firefox to upload photos on Ebay, the upload process fails completely, and blows me directly into My Ebay, as if I was not on the selling page at all. I have to go to my PC to do the photo uploads. Seems like it may be a related issue, some kind of uploading problem with Rosetta, or something. I am using a Macbook Pro with the 2.0Ghz processor, connected with ethernet cable, and firewall is set to off. Any ideas?

For E-Bay you might try the following:
Type the following command in Terminal (while Safari is NOT running):
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
Then launch Safari, and you will be able to use the new Debug menu.
If you ever wish to disable it again, just repeat the command with a "0" instead of a "1".
Under the Debug menu, you'll see the User Agent sub-menu; select Windows MSIE 6.0 from the list and then try connecting to your web site
Dreamweaver you might need to update your version.
    To Dreamweaver 8.01
