Drivers won't install properly

I am trying to re-install printer driver/software for my HP Officejet 7210. It is working as a printer only not a fax/scan etc. when I try to re-install driver info it tells me access denied. Any ideas? Below is a list (shortened) of what I have tried.
1-tried downloading from disk, HP, 3rd party driver finder & tried to fix via HP website fix for access denied (abt clicking SFS box-but I don't have that box...)
2-turned of firewall and antivirus prog tried downloading again
3-removed all printer/hp files/folder, also did appwiz to remove, did a search and removed those printer/hp files/folders, checked to make sure there were no unknown devises, tried to install drivers
4-changed user permissions in safe mode and gave everyone permission to everything, install driver
5-added another user w/ full admin permission, dwnld driver
6-HP utility remover, restart, install driver
7-HP utility- "access denied" msconfg on hp printer installation
8-downloaded driver from HP website (instead of the disc I've been using) I have again tried to re-install with anti-virus off...
And all of these I have tried a couple of times, and I tried to change startup (but then returned it to normal)
Any ideas would be great!
thanks!

Try installing first the Intel chipset driver then wireless card driver.

    The drivers won't install>Hi
I have a very old MP3 player which I recently started using again. It is around 5 or 6 years old and I think the model name is just Creative ZEN. The model number is DAP-HD005.
Following a hardware failure on my old PC a couple of months ago, I have recently got? a new PC, which runs on Windows 7 (64 bit). The old PC was about 5 years old and ran Windows XP. I have just tried to installm the software that came with the product on the installation disc but it won't load. I have also tried to find anything on theCreative site that will help, but nothing I have downloaded has so far solved the problem. I understand that the player is so old it is unlikely to be supported, but I wondered if there is some generic software that I have missed that I can install which will allow my PC to recognise the player.
Failing this, is gthere a way to make the player work with a Macbook? I tried to install the software on my wife's Macbook, but it wouldn't even try to run.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mark

You should be able to use compatabilty mode for XP to install this [url="http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=00098">driver[/url]. It may freeze during the install & not progress but if it does & it lasts longer than 0mins exit it & reboot anyway. Then connect the player. Others have used this method & have been using their older players. I used this method on my Vista comp to install an older nomad player. Download the driver rightclick on the driver choose properties>compatabilty>Xp>then Ok. Then run the file & follow the instructions.

  • Satellite L875D-S7230 Sound problems / drivers won't install

I've run a PC tech support service for over 10 years so I've tried all the standard fixes to no avail.
Main problem was after I started using my laptop with an HDMI cable to a projector -- the audio and video worked fine via HDMI, but when I disconnected the HDMI cable the laptop had no audio, and had a red x on the audio symbol in the system tray. Device manager only showed AMD High Definition Audio Device.  Under Playback devices via the Sound icon (yes Disabled and Disconnected Devices are both checked) it only shows the AMD High Def device.  When I reconnect the HDMI, the audio works fine.  Once I thought that not properly "ejecting" the HDMI cable could be the problem, so I used Windows + P to show the Projector menu and selected Computer Only to disconnect the HDMI and then removed the cable and then the laptop audio worked, but that happened several weeks ago, and now after using HDMI again, it's back to no audio.  I've reinstalled  the HDMI audio, but in trying to reinstall the Realtek Audio Drivers shown on the Support page for my model, they won't install - they extract and then when I click to install, the install stops with no error warning, etc. The same with the AMD Display driver (which is supposed to contain the chipset drivers).    I've been through this two hours troubleshooting process twice over the past 6 months and I am done.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Here's the support page:

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, and thanks for posting! I understand you are having some issues re-installing the software for your HP LaserJet Pro M177fw Printer. I'd like to help you with this. First, I would recommend checking your programs to make sure there isn't anything listed for the LaserJet that wasn't uninstalled: Swipe inwards from the right hand side of the desktop (or press Win key + C on the keyboard). The charms bar will pop up on the right hand side of the screen.Select Settings, then Control Panel.Select Programs, then Uninstall a program.Check the list for any software indicating the printer model (select the software and click uninstall if necessary). You'll also want to make sure you have removed all instances of the printer from your devices and printers folder: Follow steps 1 and 2 above to open the Control Panel.Under Hardware and Sound, select Devices and Printers. If you see any icons for your printer, right click and select delete (or remove device). Now let's do a cleanboot of your computer (to make sure another program that is running is not interfering with your installation). You can find the steps to perform a clean boot in this Microsoft document - How to perform a clean boot in Windows Once all of this is complete, run the software install again. Please respond to let me know if we have resolved the issue!Good luck.

  • Windows Boot camp drivers won't install

So I'm trying to put windows on my mac again, for the fifth time since windows won't let me activate it anymore. Everything goes fine and it installs and I put the Mac os x install disc 1 in to install the drivers. It loads up and goes through the process of installing the drivers. Once its down it asks me to restart the computer which I do. Once I get in however, none of the drivers are installed like nothing ever happened. I can tell because I can't get internet and the trackpad won't work properly. The boot camp faq shows up and another window to update something shows up but it need the internet to work. I go and try to repair the drivers and it runs its course, restarts and still nothing! No drivers. I've tried deleting the drivers and reinstalling them, removing the partition and reinstalling but nothing is working. I've gotten the drivers just fine before but now they just won't install. I've updated my mac from 10.6.4 to 10.6.7 so can that be the problem? Its the only thing I did different.

I'm at my office at the moment and I don't have the disc to view. Tell me, have you found the drivers folder? You can select any driver and it should automatically open boot camp and install all "Apple Drivers" while in windows mode. Then after installing bootcamp, you can install Apple updater. I'm adding more than I should because I don't know how far along you are- if you look around the clock area in windows, you should see a boot camp icon; is it there?
Send me a screen shot with your disc open and I can maybe help you from there. [email protected] Otherwise, I will look at the direct path this evening and post the info here.

  • Access Connections and Tools won't install properly

I have followed advice uninstalled the wireless driver, access connections, hotkey, power manager. . Reinstalled all ( latest versions) except access connection. Wireless connections work correctly and all hot keys function appropriately ( including Fn +F5 ). Then I let TVSU download Access connections. An icon is placed in the task tray. Clicking on it nothing happens. Also none of the hot keys work including the blue ThinkVantage key. Once I uninstall Access connection I am back in business with the wireless connection and the hot keys working. ( for all these installs I turned off the Microsoft virus scanner and the firewall).
Have similar problem with ThinkVantage tools in that I get the Icon in the task tray and then the program freezes. No problem in reinstalling  PC doctor5

    Hi dulverton,
I find lenovo drivers and software rather eccentric; since they need to be installed in a particular order to work properly.
First uninstall your wireless driver and access connections, thereafter reboot your system. Then install wireless driver first, again reboot, subsequently install access connections, reboot again.
Further this is the order in which the following drivers must be installed for each of them to function desirably:-
    1) Lenovo PM driver
    2) Lenovo System Interface Driver
    3) Hotkey driver
    4) Wireless driver software [reboot]
    5) Access Connections [reboot]
    Hope it helps.

  • Bootcamp drivers won't install

After installing Windows XP Home SP2, I insert the Leopard DVD to install the Boot Camp drivers. The installation begins and gets to the Broadcom network drivers, then I get a windows bluescreen for a second and the computer restarts. There are no wireless drivers or anything else installed. I tried downloading the BC2.1 drivers (.exe, but that will not run at all. I have re-installed Windows, but this does not fix the problem. The BC drivers simply won't install and crashes windows.

Hello...well, this might have worked for you guys, but not me.
The Bootcamp manual simply says that upon restarting, "just follow the Found New Hardware Wizard" and it's all set.
Well, the Hardware Wizard never appeared. Tried everything over again and still nothing.
I know you say to use the OS disc that came with my machine (a Macbook Pro), but I have been. Otherwise, I of course wouldn't have been able to install Bootcamp.
So, I've gone through the Bootcamp installation (after the windows installation) twice now, and everything seemed to go fine (meaning the wireless network is operational, and all other utilities that should be linking up with the OS X side of the computer), but on that previously mentioned restart (Step 3, Point #4, on Page 12 of the Bootcamp instructions PDF), the Hardware Wizard STILL doesn't come up....and yes, the disc is in the drive.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there any other way to make these drivers work? I, too, cannot stand the big fat blurry text/windows on the screen!
    Thanks!

  • My dazzle drivers won't install

I have a Dazzle DVC 100 and it plugs in and the laptop (HP Pavillion TouchSmart, Windows 8) scans it fine. However when i try and update the drivers it won't install even though i have the right drivers downloaded! When i try to install the drivers by
their wizards it comes up with an error screen that says that the install was interupted. Please help!

    Hi,
What is the detailed error message? And anything valuable recorded in the event?
    You can first try:
    Temporarily turn off security software.
    Re-download the driver, install again.
If fail again, Install the driver in safe mode:
Start your computer in safe mode

  • Canon MF4890 Drivers Won't Install On Mac Running Mavericks

I just purchased an MF4890.  I use a Macbook Pro running Mavericks.  The disk that came with the printer doesn't support Mavericks and when I download the drivers from the Canon website, they won't install.  If I keep the driver image on my Mac desktop, the printer will print for a time -- but then it no longer sees the printer.  This isn't normal.  I should be able to eject the disk image (as in every other application), and the app/drivers should be installed on my mac.  When I as much as created a folder on my desktop and moved the disk images into the folder (print/fax/scan), the mac no longer sees the printer (wireless).
Help!  Does this printer support Mavericks?

    Hi BonnieBoop.
The imageCLASS MF4890dw does support printing on the OS X Mavericks operating system.  You should be able to open on the Mac_MF_Ver1010_00.dmg file and run the installer package.  The icon looks like an open brown box.  Next just follow the steps to install the driver.
If you are not able to see this information or if the setup does not allow you to save the information, we recommend that you contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) and a live technical support representative will be glad to assist you.

  • No audio, after factory reset, flash install,SoundMax & HDA audio drivers won't install

    My problems are:
No sound with Youtube or the laptop itself
SoundMax won't install either though I downloaded HDA audio drivers it requested.
Flash download stuffed up my SoundMax after factory reset.
I decided to do a factory reset after Youtube starting slowing down. After reset it (Youtube) kind of worked better
then the audio disappeared from the laptop. The drivers, SoundMax Audio was gone (greyed out).
I downloaded the Audio driver from Lenovo website for my X31 but SoundMax install wouldn't install because it kept saying HDA Audio drivers weren't installed.
    I downloaded it from here:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_AU/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT072373
So I went to HP site to download HDA audio drivers, then the SoundMax Audio reappeared and I had sound on my computer.
HDA Audio drivers link at HP website (since Lenovo doesn't have it):
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?cc=US&lang=en&swItem...
When I downloaded latest Adobe Flash, the SoundMax Audio disappeared again. So at the moment I have Youtube video without sound (and Firefox keeps telling me to download Flash?)
No sound on IE as well.
Would appreciate your help. Thank you very much.
    I'm using:
    ThinkPad X31 (2673-QU6)

  • Z60T Audio drivers won't install.

I have spent at least 10 hours on this problem, searched the net, searched forums, re-installed Windows a second time after formatting a second time, to no avail.  I have no sound, and Device Manager says the following Drivers are not installed:
Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus
    Biometric Coprocessor
    Unknown Device
I don't care about Unknown and Biometric Coprocessor, I think they are fingerprint reader related.
But I DO care about having sound, and I'm about to lose my ever loving mind on this.
    Here's what happened:
We bought this laptop used on Craigslist.  I formatted the hard drive, including the ThinkVantage partition, and installed XP Professional SP2.  I went to the IBM site to download drivers, and that's when all this heppened.
I installed the Q888111 patch before installing the drivers.
When I installed the drivers, the Soundmax screen came up, and then just sat there, nothing more happened.
I then had to force a reboot, and Soundmax showed up in Programs, but when I tried to play a file in WMP 11, it said there was no audio device installed.
Soundmax showed up in Add/Remove programs, but would not respond to being removed so I could try to reinstall.  I had to manually remove it and run RegCleaner to get rid of it.
I'm beginning to think my sound device is broken...I have NEVER had this much trouble with a  driver before.
Another symptom is constant freeze up.  I know I need more RAM, but 512 should be enough to at least run installation.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,

  • [nForce] Drivers Won't Install

I have a K7N2 Delta2 motherboard.  It has a NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 chipset.  I am trying to install the drivers for these integrated components:
NVIDIA nForce2 AGP Host to PCI Bridge
    NVIDIA nForce2 Memory Controller
NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 Memory Controller
NVIDIA MCP2S Parallel ATA Controller (v2.6)
    NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
I also had problems installing the Ethernet drivers, but they installed successfully recently.  I am trying to install the latest 5.10 nForce2 drivers.  On all the components above, I get the following error message.
An error occured during the installation of this device
    Access is denied.
I am logged in as a member of the Administrators group.  I also tried it as Administrator.  I cannot get these drivers to install.  Any ideas?
    My computer specs:
    AMD Athlon 1200Mhz
K7N2 Delta2 motherboard with the latest BIOS flash (W6570NMS V11.5)
    Kingston ValueRam 512MB 400Mhz CL3
NVIDIA GeForce2 Pro AGP video card (don't remember what brand, maybe MSI)
Windows XP Professional with SP2 downloaded and installed
    anything else needed?

OK, I booted into safe mode, removed the old VIA drivers from the %systemroot%\system32\drivers folder, and then saw that the nForce2 drivers from a previous install were in Add & Remove Programs.  I believe that to be my entire problem.  So I uninstalled all NVIDIA drivers.  Rebooted into Safe Mode.  Installed all the 5.10 drivers with success, excluding the sound driver cuz I don't need it.  Rebooted.  Windows hangs during loading screen.  Reset, then I hit F8 and choose Last Known Good Configuration.  Remove all NVIDIA drivers again.  Reboot into Safe Mode.  Install one driver at a time and reboot inbetween.  System hangs because of the IDE driver.  So, choose Last Known Good Configuration again, uninstall all NVIDIA drivers, reboot to Safe Mode, reinstall all drivers but IDE, then boot Windows normally.  Needed to install display driver, as I have a NVIDIA card.  Did that, disabled nwiz and NvMcTray in msconfig as I always do.  Reboot.  My SYSTEM registry hive is corrupted.  So after wiping Linux (which I never use anyway cuz my modem is not Linux compatible) off my other drive and installing Windows and the Internet on it, I found out how to take the registry from a previous Restore Point and copy it to the config folder.  Did that, booted to that drive, had to uninstall and reinstall all NVIDIA drivers again, but it works now.  I don't have tons of System devices like you Fredrik, but I do have 3 Motherboard resources, which is weird.  Whatever.  Thanks for all your help, guys

  • NVIDIA IDE drivers won´t install

    Hi.
I have K8N Neo2-FX AMD 64 3000+ and the IDE/sata drivers don´t install from cd in any way. Anyone know what folder to look in at the cd. I know Promise and I tried Nvidia/System/CK84/IDE.

    NVIDIA nForce3 250 Serial ATA Controller (v2.6)

  • WPSM54G drivers won't install on Windows 7

I've just migrated to Windows 7 (Home Premium) and found that my WPSM54G driver(s) won't install.  The installer error message is essentially: Windows 7 is not supported.  Is there any way to override this behavior?  My guess is that the driver(s) will work just fine, if they could only be installed.  Alternatively, when is Linksys likely to fix the problem?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This problem IS NOT solved by the above. Sure you can print with this option, but what about scanning and faxing? The WPSM54G is an ALL IN ONE sever and not just a print server. When is Linksys going to get updated software out? Why am I ALWAYS having issues with Linksys products that are software or firmware based.

  • Multiple drivers no longer install properly

The situation started when I tried to connect a disk drive from another laptop that had died, to my HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook, i7-2630QM, using a USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD cable I purchased from StarTech.com in order to recover some files. When I connected the cable to the usb 3.0 port the system tried to install the device driver but it was not successfully installed. When I looked into the matter with the Device Manager nothing shows up under disk drives except the internal drive; there is no usb mass storage device under the usb controllers category; instead it has an unknown device with yellow exclamation pt. and an ASMT1051 label with a yellow exclamation point due to a driver install failure. The device listed in the properties specified is c:\windows\system32\drivers\USBSTOR.SYS. In looking for an answer to this condition I went online at Microsoft, Tom's hardware, and Seagate. Following some suggestions that the driver file may be corrupted, I deleted the driver file and rebooted the system. The driver file was reconstructed but no change ensued when I reinserted the cable. Updating the driver, uninstalling the device, etc also had no effect on the problem. All OS updates were also applied to my system.
I then contacted StarTech for some insight into the issue. On their Windows 7 machine the cable [without disk drive attached] worked fine but it didn't use this driver it used the disk.sys and partmgr.sys files. At their suggestion I tried connecting the cable to a Samsung netbook I had running a Win 7 Starter OS without the hard drive. The system detects the cable, installs the driver properly. the device manager sees the cable as a disk drive ASMT2115 usb device. The driver details for this device specifies c:\windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys and partmgr.sys. Under the usb controllers besides the usb composite device it has a usb mass storage device. I also installed the cable on a friend's Windows 8.1 system successfully. This kind of eliminated the cable as the source of the problem.
After this I suspected the dv7 notebook had the problem. In searching the HP support website I found this post http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6100-Quad-Edition-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-seri...
This post suggested uninstalling the usb root hubs and rebooting the system to alleviate the problem. Upon doing this I ran into multiple failures when rebooting.  I now still cannot successfully attach the hdd/usb cable, but I also no longer can log into the system using the fingerprint scanner, and I cannot use my usb connected HP laserJet printer.
I hope this dissertation isn't too disjointed for you to understand. Can you please help me with this issue? I would at least want to get the system back to where I can use my printer so I can print out my income tax forms and other documents. I also have a file which shows the Device Manager listing but I don't know how to attach the file to this post.
    Thank you for reading.
    This question was solved.

    Hi @Mitch8 ,
    Thank you for your inquiry.
I understand that you are trying to connect a HDD via USB to 2.5HDD/SSD cable.  After uninstalling and reinstalling the USB root hub you had multiple failures on reboot including the fingerprint scanner and HP laserjet printer.
You could try doing a Windows restore back to a known good date to acquire your fingerprint scanner and printer back up and running.  If that is successful once you have your income tax and other documents  printed off, I would recommend doing a recovery back to factory.
HP Notebook PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore
You could also try running HP Support Assistant  to look for HP drivers and software.
You could try reinstalling the HP laserjet printer as that may also work.
Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7)
There will be an option during the recovery to backup your personal files to prevent data loss.
Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 7)
