Drop Down Pop Up Menu

hey.
i am making a website. my website has two frames, a top and a
bottom main frame. i made a drop down pop up menu and it wont go
over the bttom main frame so part of it is hidden. what can i do to
make it go over the main frame?

There is no practical way to make a layer (that's how
drop-down menus work)
cross the boundary between two separate frames (i.e., two
unique HTML
pages).
It is true. Your choices are limited now -
1. DUMP THE FRAMES - you would not be having this problem in
a non-framed
site.
2. Redesign your menus so that they do not need to span a
frame boundary.
3. Redesign the frameset so that you leave enough room for
the largest
popup.
4. Move the layer code for the popups from the page in the
navigation frame
to each page in the content frame.
5. DUMP THE FRAMES - you would not be having this problem in
a non-framed
site.
I recommend either #1 or #5, depending on what your needs
are. You just
have no idea the horrors that await you if you continue with
the frames.....
8)
Nevermind the method you have used for the pop-up menus. I'm
afraid to
ask....

The drop down view by menu (Song, album, etc) at the right side of the iTunes window is like a ghost. It flashes into view for a millisecond once in awhile but never lets me click on it. Anyone know what this is about and what to do?

    Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
    Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

  • When I double-click the gold star to bookmark a site and click "Choose", none of my current folders appear in the drop-down under Bookmarks Menu.

Running 3.6.12 on Windows XP in my brand-new HP 6000 Pro, and when I double-click the gold star to bookmark a site, 5 of my 80-odd folders appear in the drop-down under Bookmarks Menu. But then, when I click "Choose", no list of current bookmarks appears, so I have to bookmark every time under "Unsorted", then drag each bookmark to its correct folder. What am I doing wrong? I use Firefox on my other 2 systems, and every folder appears on the drop-down, just like it should.

I don't use Xmarks, so I don't know whether that is a factor here...
If you use Ctrl+d on a bookmarked page, does the Edit Bookmark dialog appear?
Firefox doesn't have a convenient way to determine the location of a bookmark. One workaround is to use the extension [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/show-parent-folder/ Show Parent Folder] to add a column in the Library dialog showing the location of a bookmark. Then when you use the search function or Recently Bookmarked query, you should be able to discover the location.
The extension shows just the folder name by default. If that isn't unique enough, you can change a setting for the extension so it shows the full path down to that folder. To set this, open the Add-ons page, Extensions category, and use the Options button for Show Parent Folder.

How is the best way to  add a Drop Down City Selection Menu to my site next to MyCITY logo?  This page should be selection on Los Angeles (w arrow icon next to it), but I need 4 other city choices.  It needs to drop down like RESTAURANTS with an arrow.  Not sure the best way to approach this.

  • I lost the bookmarks drop-down on the menu bar

I have a problem with my bookmarks, cookies, history or settings
    == Description
    ==
I have Firefox 3.5.10. Somehow, I managed to click on "hide this folder?" while I was trying to organize my bookmarks, and now I can't get the folder back onto the menu bar. I am able to access them via the sidebar, but I prefer the drop-down menu.
I have already tried View>Toolbars>Customize. There is no icon for "bookmarks" for me to add; there doesn't appear to be any way to add/delete menu bar items. Besides, I really don't want to restore the default after having customized it.
    Any clue????

  • CSS Drop down menu; how to align the right edge of drop down and parent menu?

    Hello everyone,
I have a drop-down menu that is currently working well.
The only change I need to make is to have the right edge of the  drop-down menu to align with the right edge of the parent menu. When you  hover over the menu, it currently "drops" down and to the right, with  the left edges aligned.
I want the menu to "drop" down and to the left, so the right edges are aligned.
I have tried fiddling with floats and absolute/relative positioning. I'm not sure what needs to be changed.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated! I'm learning via "cut and paste", so please go easy on any terminology you may use.

  • There is no Lightroom menu (drop down) on my menu strip.

At the top of the monitor where the menu strip has "file" "edit" "develop", etc., my understanding is that there is suppose to be another menu titled "Lightroom" to the left of "file." The tutorial I am following says that the "Lightroom" dropdown has "Preferences" "Identity Plate Setup..." Services" "Hide Lightroom" "Hide Others" "Show All" "Quit Lightroom" so how can I get that drop down????
    Gerald

Mucho Thanks.....I cannot believe that I did not see the "Identity Plate" under Edit.....and thanks for all the other explanations....
I am going to send Chris Orwig, the man who did the tutorial for lynda.com an email saying he didn't tell us PC folks where the Identity Plate was. He normally tells the PC folks what their option would be.
    Oh well....you made my day....

  • Shut Down Pop Up Menu

Sometimes, unexpectedly the "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?" pop up menu shows up on my computer. After I click cancel a few seconds later it will pop up again and again after choosing cancel.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

The dialog can be triggered by pressing the Power button on the case or on the keyboard. This means that it can sometimes be triggered if there is a short circuit or defect in USB wiring or in the computer case near the button, that gives a false Shut Down signal. You might try jiggling wires a little or hitting the Mac Pro power button a couple times in case there's a spurious connection somewhere.

  • Can't edit the text in drop down css navigation menu bar

    Hi All,
I'm just setting up contribute for a client to be able to edit a particular page on their website. The page they need to edit is essentially a huge CSS menu from which customers can choose location, then product and it will show them the price per product.  The menu is a hover menu so as someone progresses through the menu they reach the price.
The client needs to be able to review and amend the prices reasonably regularly and can't afford to have full blow CMS so I thought contribute might work for them.  I've connected to the web page and can select the CSS menu tree but when I then go to select the text for any of the hover overs the menu disappears back down to the initial menu item i.e. the hovered menu item doesn't stay visible and so I can't amend it.
Does anyone know if this is possible to do in contribute and if so can you explain how for me please?
    Thanks
    Andy
PS. The page in question can be found at http://www.visionltd.co.uk/price-calculator.html

    Hi,
He can try editing that web page in an external application through Contribute. So, after browsing to the web page, he can click Ctrl+Shift+E, to edit the web page in an external application, there he can change the prices, save his changes, and publish the web page.
    Hope this helps.

  • Drop downs from Navigation Menu?

  • DW Pop-Up / Drop-Down Menu Problems

Hi. I am new to this forum and I am not a pro web designer
(but am proficient with web / graphic design software), so bear
    with me...
I am using Dreamweaver MX and Fireworks MX (not the 2004
versions) to re-design a new website for my photography biz (I am,
of course, using PhotoShop for some graphics/images too).
I want to use a horizontal navigation bar (with 9 buttons)
and drop-down menus on the new site.
My first attempt was to design the nav bar in FW and export
it into DW (preferably into a Template). The nav bar design (w/
drop-down menus) in FW was simple. Exporting was also simple.
However, I experienced major problems when inserting the "piece"
into a FW document (I use "tables" and not "frames"; no CSS nor
    Flash).
Once the nav bar is inserted into a DW table, it doesn't work
in the Browser (latest version of Safari; I use a Mac PowerBook).
Some times, it did work, but most others, it did not. FRUSTRATING.
I then decided to simply design the nav bar "buttons" in FW
(with simple roll-over to change text color / size on each button)
and realized that DW can also do Drop-Down / Pop-Up menus. This was
successful at first, but now when I try to insert numerous buttons
into a DW document (multi-row and column table), I get the same
result in that the d-d menus do not work when viewing in the
browser (but the roll-over text effect does work). STILL
    FRUSTRATING.
I have also tried to save the nav bar / buttons as Library
Items, but to no avail. This is rather important should I decide to
one day change the navigation on the site (it will have over 25
    pages to start with).
I have been on the Adobe site and have read numerous tech
reports to try and solve this. I have also come across a few notes
on this forum, so decided to give it a shot. Quite simply:
    1. Am I wasting my time using an older version of DW and FW
(even though I have no interest in using fancy Flash stuff and have
no interest in being a pro web designer; I do want to do my own
site and maintain it though...). Should I upgrade to Version 8 of
    the suite?
    2. I see that some third-party software is available to do
Drop-Down menus. Should I take this route? Will these extensions
work in the older version of DW?
    3. My nav bar will be relatively simple, both in appearance
and functionality. So, I do not need any extravagant type of
software. Can anyone recommend something for me?
    4. The following link is the only attempt that I had at
getting the nav bar to operate both locally on my browser and
uploaded on to my host server. I am not 100% happy with the
appearance, but when I went to change it, I had the same problems
detailed above (i.e., it didn't work). This example was done with
FW into DW. It was simply a test (to see if uploading the page on
to the server would get the drop-downs to work), so none of the
links have been inserted into the menu selection tabs.
    http://www.vagabondvistas.com/test/home_page_test.html
Thanks for your help. Sorry about the long message, but I
wanted to include enough detail such that you wouldn't have to come
back to me for numerous questions...
    Dave

Depending on your expertise level, DMX may be all you you
    need. But where
you are wasting your time is by fiddling with these awful
    pop-up menus.
Those who understand them left them behind when they were
    first introduced.

Yes, and yes, and don't think twice about doing it! Use the
    PVII methods or

  • Can't select number and type of tracks from drop down menu!

When I create an empty project you are supposed to be able to select the number and type of tracks you want from a drop down menu. This menu worked when I opened logic for the first time. In subsequent new projects this window does not drop down fully and I'm unable to make any selections!
    Can anyone help?

    Thanks for your replies.
I tried Eriksimon's solution which worked the first time i re-opened Logic, but reverted back to how it was everytime after that!
As you'll know when you launch Logic you get prompted to choose a template, so i slect empty project, then when the main window opens you're prompted with New Tracks drop down/pop out box. What I should get is a choice of Type - Audio, Software Instrument and External MIDI with another section underneath with Format, Input, Output etc... All i get is Number of tracks to choose and External MIDI as the only option! Even if i create the track any subsequent tracks are all External MIDI, no other options!
When i installed Logic i left off the Jam packs as i'm short on HD space at the minute, i don't think this would be the cause but it's the only thing i've left out of the installation. If i have to re-install i will, but it took nearly 2 hours!

  • In firefox 4, bookmarks drop down menu dissapeared next to the home buttom, but appears to be there when customizing, when clicking done, is dissapears

My bookmark drop down menu disappeared next to the home button on firefox 4. When I right click customize, the bookmark drop down appears on menu bar, but when clicking done, it's gone again. I went into customize and removed it then put it back. When clicking done, it is gone again and will not appear. It happened when I click tools, options, tabs, and uncheck open new windows in a new tab, then clicked ok

I had this same problem, using Ubuntu 11.04, here is the solution, pretty simple after trying 800 things to find the solution. Go to your addons, disable the addon called "global menu bar integration", then if your menubar is still viewable, disable it, and then you can see the drop down menu for your bookmarks. If you don't have Ubuntu then you just need to disable your menubar directly (the one with File, Edit, View, etc).
