DSO Activation - Monitoring Status

Hi,
I would want to monitor the status of DSO activation of M-->A, just like the data load as each package of records once it gets update to the DSO we could see in the request monitor, is there any way where i could monitor activation of records likewise.
Thanks,
Mani

Hi Mani,
There are 3 ways:
In the manage tab of the DSO, There is a button called "LOGS" beside the monitor button.
Click that button, where you can get the total log for the ACTIVATION of the DSO.
And also if you want you can check in SM37 by giving the name as: BI_ODSA*
and one more option is you can check in t-code SLG1 by providing the input as:
1. Object: RSSM
2. Subobject: MON
3. EXTERNAL ID: -ODSAC-"ODS NAME"
Give user id, time.
Select all logs.
and then you can get the log for the activation.

  • My airport doesn't manually shut down: airport icon is off, but activity monitor shows lots of packets still flowing. Its not my activity- all updates turned off. Virus?

I'm running a Macbook Pro circa 2007 with OSX 10.6.8 and Firefox 27.0.1, and just had a circumstance that really puzzled me. I have a Hughesnet satellite modem with wireless router that I connect to via the airport, and I use Little Snitch software in the demo mode so I know and have to approve which software can send info through the internet connection., but the demo mode had just timed out and terminated and within a half hour of that the computer fans started speeding up to max and the CPU got blazing hot (+200 degF).
Worried, I looked at the activity monitor and it was showing lots of internet activity even though I wasn't doing anything on the internet at the time, and I have all my software updates set to manual because otherwise they would use up my allotted daytime bandwidth and leave none for me. I'd already completed manual software updates during the nightly free time recently. Fearing my computer was hijacked & out of my control, I turned the airport off to terminate the internet connection, BUT IT DIDN'T TURN OFF, and though the indicator in the top right of the screen said it was off, packets were still streaming back & forth like crazy on the activity monitor, and the poor thing was still overheating. So I rebooted the computer, and when it came back up there was no internet activity, and things started cooling down, back to normal again.
Though I'm no techie, this seems to me like my computer has been hijacked by some virus that has taken control of the airport and is feeding me lies about the internet connection status, so that it can use my computer for sending out its own messages. Has anyone heard of a virus that prevents the airport from being turned off, and what should I do about it? I'm afraid to back up my data with my time machine, though its been months since that was done, for fear I'd overwrite a virus-free state of the time machine files with a virus laden one, but I also hate to do something to clean up the machine without backing up my files, and lose a bunch of data. Is there virus protection software that could surgically search out and remove only the virus from my machine and leave most everything else untouched?
    Any advice is welcome,
    Christina

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Try Changing the Airport Channel
Open AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on a computer using Mac OS X.
Select the device you’re setting up, and then click Manual Setup. Enter the base station password if necessary
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
Choose a new channel from the Channel pop-up menu.

  • Process Chain - Follow on dependencies to DSO Activation

Hi, I have a Data Load Process where the start routine is dependent on DSO data that was just previously activated.  For some reason it looks like the the time before the load and the time after the DSO activation are close by just seconds.
The Data Load Routine will drop records if the activated DSO data is not available and this seems like what I am witnessing.  I thought there was a way to configure the chain or job to wait until the previous is completely done.  or did that go away with 7.0...
Is there a way to make sure the loading process doesn't start until the previous DSO activation is completed and the data is available?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Interuppt concept :
If a process chain is only processed either in part or in its entirity if more than one start condition is filled, you use this process type to specify the additional conditions.
The chain is started when the condition of the start process is filled. However, the interrupt process will interupt the processing of the chain (as long as its status is "active") up until the point at which the condition of the interrupt process is filled. Should the start process condition be filled again before the interupt process condition is filled, the chain will start again and will only run up until the point of interruption. As soon as the interrupt process condition is filled, the system continues the last run of the chain only. The earlier runs remain unchanged.
The interrupt process schedules an additional background job that starts based on the relevant condition. Therefore the interrupt process is not really active during the interrupt phase; it does not use any resources during this time.
If the interrupt processes are filled before the start process condition, the chain starts as soon as the start condition is filled; the interrupt process no longer interupts the chain because its condition has already been filled. If the interrupt process condition is is filled again before the start condition of the chain is filled, this does not influence the chain. It is not stopped by the interrupt process..
so basically your interrupt will wait for an event like ex:..YABAP_YGTRFCEVENTRAISE_0035 ... so you can raise that event eother by some job or some program..bUt for you i think adding the waiting timw will be better option ..
    hope i cleared  you ..

  • DSO Activation

I have a standard DSO.  In the settings, the only thing checked is "Set Quality Status to 'OK' Automatically",  I have this loading using a process chain and in the chain, I have the Activate process included.
The DSO loads with no problem, but the Activate step fails with error message "No active PSA table".
    Two things that seem weird:
    1.  Without doing anything, I go to the DSO > Manage and the DSO has been activated (so why does the process Activate in the process chain fail?)
    2.  If I Repeat the Activate step in the process chain, even though the process is active based on # 1 above, the Activate step turns green and completes the process chain.
I am having this problem for several DSOs in several different chains.
Thanks for any help.  Keith J

PC- Display variant for DSO activation - click on Parallel processing -  click DS Activ option -
       Background with "A"
Num of Par proessing = 6
again Click on this time DS-SID GEN
    Background with "C"
Num of Par proessing = 3
Make sure you have the same settings for DSO activation which are failing?

Open Activity Monitor, Show:>All Processes, sort on CPU%, see if anything using too much CPU% when this happens, click on Memory tab, do you have many Pageouts?
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Check the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive in Disk Utilty by highlighting the Drive & looking at the bottom of the window.

  • Monitor status is yellow  for many days

    Hi All,
I am extracting data from CRM and when I try to extract data for both master data objects and cubes, the monitor status is in yellow for many hours and not getting changed.
Result: data is not come to BW.
    Observation:
    1) In source system the job is not getting started for ALEREMOTE_CR user and always in ready mode.
    2) In monitor screen in BW when I click on OLTP push button, system not allowing me to enter in to Source system and saying check the connection parameters. (Source system connection  check is OK)
Kindly look in to this and feel free to contact me for any explanation is required.

    Hi,
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
    1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
    2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
    3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
    4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load).
    5) SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the new data table.
    Thanks,
    JituK

  • Deadlock when deleting from rsstatmanpsa during DSO activation

We are experiencing intermittent Oracle deadlocks during DSO activation in our BI system.  The deadlocks occur when the following SQL statement is executed:
          delete from rsstatmanpsa where
                 partnr >= l_s_status-rnr_sid and
                 psa     = l_s_status-dta.
This is at line 83 of the SET STATUS method of class CL_RSSM_STATMAN.  (See below for runtime error details.)
When these errors occur the background job for the DSO activation is cancelled with the message ABAP/4 processor: DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR.  Strangely, when this occurs as part of a process chain, the status of the process variant does not get updated until/unless someone displays the process chain log, at which point the status changes and follow-on events are triggered.  In other words, the process chain does not seem to be receiving word that the DSO activation process has abended, so we do not receive alerts that a problem has occurred.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks,
    Bob
P.S.  We are running BI 7.0, Patch Level 15 on Oracle 10.2.0.4.0
    Runtime Errors         DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR
    Exception              CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
    in
procedure "SET_STATUS" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
    How to correct the error
Database error text........: "ORA-00060: deadlock detected while waiting for
    resource"
    Internal call code.........: "[RSQL/DELE/RSSTATMANPSA ]"
Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR" "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB"
    "CL_RSSM_STATMAN===============CP" or "CL_RSSM_STATMAN===============CM008"
    "SET_STATUS"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
    1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
    In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
    Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
    4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
"SET_STATUS" "(METHOD)", or its possible occurrence must be declared in the
    RAISING clause of the procedure.
To prevent the exception, note the following:
    Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_RSSM_STATMAN===============CP" -
    in "SET_STATUS".
The main program was "RSPROCESS ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 83
    of the (Include) program "CL_RSSM_STATMAN===============CM008".
The program "CL_RSSM_STATMAN===============CP" was started as a background job.
    Job Name....... "BI_PROCESS_ODSACTIVAT"
    Job Initiator.. "ALEREMOTE"
    Job Number..... 05302800
The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB" occurred in
procedure "SET_STATUS" "(METHOD)", but it was neither handled locally nor
    declared
in the RAISING clause of its signature.
The procedure is in program "CL_RSSM_STATMAN===============CP "; its source

Thanks for the suggestion.  This is the same recommendation I just received from SAP.

  • Running Activity Monitor To Shut Unnecessary Functions Off?

I just ran Activity Monitor to see how the CPU on my MacBook was doing and saw all these "root" functions and this Quicklook thing that list almost 600MB of RAM/Virtual Memory usage. iVirus usage 171MB. Are there ways to disable apps and directory actions that are totally unnecessary to save RAM and CPU actions? Any links to Activity Monitor tutorials?
Also since the SL 10.6.1 update, the fan comes on more frequently and the casing underneath is getting warmer. I assume this has to be related to something related to what is going on in Activity Monitor. Any clues there?
    I have 4GB RAM.
Thanks for any help and ideas on what could improve the MacBook performance.
    Steve

I would stay away from killing processes you know nothing about as that can lead to the OS failing to function. As for Activity Monitor and memory management see the following:
About OS X Memory Management and Usage
Reading system memory usage in Activity Monitor
Memory Management in Mac OS X
Performance Guidelines- Memory Management in Mac OS X
A detailed look at memory usage in OS X
Understanding top output in the Terminal
The amount of available RAM for applications is the sum of Free RAM and Inactive RAM. This will change as applications are opened and closed or change from active to inactive status. The Swap figure represents an estimate of the total amount of swap space required for VM if used, but does not necessarily indicate the actual size of the existing swap file. If you are really in need of more RAM that would be indicated by how frequently the system uses VM. If you open the Terminal and run the top command at the prompt you will find information reported on Pageins () and Pageouts (). Pageouts () is the important figure. If the value in the parentheses is 0 (zero) then OS X is not making instantaneous use of VM which means you have adequate physical RAM for the system with the applications you have loaded. If the figure in parentheses is running positive and your hard drive is constantly being used (thrashing) then you need more physical RAM.

  • Cannot launch Activity Monitor on Maverics 10.9.2

Is there anyone with the same problem for giving me a solution "Why I can't launch Activity Monitor on Maverics 10.9.2 Macbbok Pro?" ?

Has always worked for me. Try this:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Mountain Lion or Mavericks

  • Activity Monitor misreports RAM?

I have the brand new aluminum macbook with 2 gigs of ram. I looked in activity Monitor before and it was telling me that I was using 500 megabytes of ram, with no programs running. I looked at all the processes and they could not possibly have added up to 500. I know that green and blue are free and that red is for the OS. It was just the yellow that I looked at and all the processes, even including kernel_task (which is counted under wired, right?), could not have added up to 500. Please help!

You've given us nothing to suggest a problem. Activity Monitor does not provide information on background processes. When you say, "they could not possibly have added up to 500," that means you don't really know what they added to nor that you know what to add.

I think you should review what you wrote. There is no question, hence, my reply. I can't tell by the AM listing what applications are using memory. You need to click on the Real Mem column once or twice to display in descending order.
Aside from what you see in AM, what exactly is your problem or perceived problem. You are very low on Free Mem at the moment the screen shot was taken. Those displays are not depicting your computer's instantaneous memory usage.

Adding RAM only makes it possible to run more programs concurrently.  It doesn't speed up the computer nor make games run faster.  What it can do is prevent the system from having to use disk-based VM when it runs out of RAM because you are trying to run too many applications concurrently or using applications that are extremely RAM dependent.  It will improve the performance of applications that run mostly in RAM or when loading programs.

  • I can't run activity monitor application. It just processes with the multicolored disc spinning, but does not open.

I can't run activity monitor application. It just processes with the multicolored disc spinning, but does not open.  It also won't close without using "Force Quit." When I access it in Force Quit it's listed as not responding. I am getting the messase that my start-up disc is full, but I can't assess the status without using the activity monitor app. Thanks for any assistance you can give. -F.J.

If your hard drive is full, you have to delete files. Open Finder, search in all your user's folders and delete files that you don't need, or move them to an external drive.
When the hard drive is full, OS X works slow and applications may freeze, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason why Activity Monitor isn't working

  • Activity monitor showing iOS process CPU load?

Twice in the past two weeks my iPhone 4s (running latest 7.1.1) suddenly became very warm, and its battery went down rapidly even when on standby. If I plugged it in, it got even warmer and it charged very slowly.
In each case I was eventually able to recover, by stopping all apps, putting the phone in airplane mode, doing a couple of full restarts, and (this seemed to be important) turning the phone off completely until it cooled down completely. Because I did several things almost at once, I can't be sure which ones were effective.
This could be a hardware issue with the battery. The fact that turning the phone off completely seemed to be an essential part of the cure suggests that. It could also be a hardware issue related to network communication, cured by Airplane Mode.
It could also be related to beta software that I was running, though that software was not active either time. The testing profile was installed though, and could have been involved. After the second incident I removed the profile as a precaution (fortunately the GA version of the software had just come out).
To help track down the cause, if it happens again, I would like to find an iOS equivalent of Activity Monitor on my Mac. I've installed several free system status apps and I have read the description of several paid ones. The ones I have tried give me a list of running processes with their priorities, and total CPU load, but so far I have not found one that shows which processes are the CPU hogs. Maybe one of the paid ones does that, but their descriptions don't claim that feature. It t doesn't make sense to spend money without getting the feature I need. If it is a software issue, looking at total CPU load while starting and stopping apps may not be a good diagnostic since the culprit could be a background or system process.
    Any suggestions?

And a process that is capable of running multiple threads of execution, can concurrently use more than 1 CPU, and thus consume greater than 100% of 1 CPU.
