Dunning procedure in configuration:Define Parametrize External Transactions
Hi There,
We can assign a Dunning Procedure in configuration at "Define and Parametrize External Transactions".
Path:
Financial Accounting->Contract Accounts Receivables and Payables->Basic Functions-> Posting and Documents->Document->Maintain Document Assignments-> Maintain Transactions for Non-Ind. Contract Accounts Receivables and Payables->Define and Parametrize External Transactions.
For every unique combination of Application Area, Company Code, Division, Main and Sub Transaction:
When you Add or Select an External Main and Sub transaction, on the Line Item Parameters you can add among other things - a Dunning Procedure and Dunning Lock reason. We cannot assign a Dunning Grouping here though.
I have been trying to figure out what the use is of assigning the Dunning procedure here.
1)In what business processes and when/where is this used? What circumstances is Dunning Procedure assigned at Transaction (Main and Sub) level?
2)Does this configuration insert the dunning procedure at the Item level? i.e all items created by this configuration (main and sub transaction) are configured with this Dunning Procedure or Dunning Lock Reason?
3)What advantages does it provide over assigning the dunning procedure to the Contract Account or Contract Object?
Thank you.
Hi,
1)In what business processes and when/where is this used? What circumstances is Dunning Procedure assigned at Transaction (Main and Sub) level?
Everytime a document item with this combintaion of transaction is created. It is a way to default some attributes when documents are posted. This dunning procedure has priority over the one filled in the contract account.
2)Does this configuration insert the dunning procedure at the Item level? i.e all items created by this configuration (main and sub transaction) are configured with this Dunning Procedure or Dunning Lock Reason?
Yes, this level has the highest priority (the specific level over the general level), and yes this configuration insert the dunning procedure at the item level
3)What advantages does it provide over assigning the dunning procedure to the Contract Account or Contract Object?
Well, it depends what do you want to get. Sometimes specific postings done in the contract account are required to be dunned using a different dunning procedure than the one filled in the contract account. The dunning procedure filled in the contract account is used by dafault to dunn all the contract account postings, but the postings with its own dunning procedure.

Difference between dunning area and dunning procedure
Hi,
can anybody explain the exact differnce between dunning area and dunning procedure
why we define both n how we use them
what is the differnce between dunning by dunning area and dunning by dunning procedure
i would be very much thankful if can get the exact differnetationDunning Areas are organizational units that you use to process the dunning program for example, by division, or sales organization.
You use dunning areas if several organizational units are responsible for carrying out dunning within a company code. These organizational units are represented by dunning areas in the SAP System.
You can have either One dunning procedure for One dunning area or several Dunning procedures per dunning area.
Dunning procedure actually defines how business partners are dunned.
The dunning program duns open items in customer and vendor accounts if the overdue items result in a debit balance. When you configure the dunning program, you can specify additional criteria for determining whether accounts or their open items are to be dunned.
Hope it helps.

UnitOfWork event and External Transaction Control
Hi
I'm running Toplink 9.0.3 with JBoss 3.2.2. Toplink is configured with an external transaction controler. My code is running inside a Session Bean, with CMT (Container Managed Transaction). My bean's transaction type is "Required" so the JTS transaction is already started when I call getActiveUnitOfWork().
What I want to do is register a listener on the UOW's preCommit event. When I do, the listener is never called... Is it an issue with Toplink or is it me who is missing something?
Thanks a lot
Regards
EricHi Eric,
When configured correctly the registration of the listener should happen when you acquire the unit of work, and if logging is appropriately enabled you should see the #register log message on the console. You should not need to do anything in preCommit. Make sure that you have:
- set the login to useExternalTransactionController()
- set the controller instance on the session
e.g. session.setExternalTransactionController(new JTSExternalTransactionController()
- set the TransactionManager on the JTS listener class.
e.g.
TransactionManager jbossTM = ... // look up TM
JTSSynchronizationListener.setTransactionManager(jbossTM)
You will have to look up the JBoss TransactionManager in JNDI in order to set it on the listener class. I can't remember what name it is posted under in 3.22 but it is something generic (javax.transaction.TransactionManager, or something like that -- your app server doc should tell you).
If you are using sessions.xml then the equivalent elements exist there as well to set the first two parts.

The T-code of creating dunning procedure
Could anyone please tell me the T-code of creating the dunning procedure. Thanks in advance
CONFIGURATION PATH:
Financial Accounting -> Account Receivable and Accounts Payable -> Business Transactions -> Dunning -> Dunning Procedure -> Define Dunning Procedures OR Transaction Path:
Accounting/Financial Accounting/Accounts Payable/Periodic Processing/Dunning/Environment/Change
Configuration
TRANSACTION CODE: FBMP
Basically there are three steps in this transaction:
1) Maintain dunning procedure
2) Maintain dunning levels
3) Maintain dunning texts
transaction from SAP:
- Before defining several dunning procedures and forms, you should check whether you can fulfill
all your requirements using one dunning procedure and one form.
- You should select Always dunn. notice? for
the last dunning level so that items at this level are not skipped.
- You can store the header and footer texts separately
for your dunning notices. If your letter paper already contains these specifications, you can remove the windows for these
texts in the form you define using SAPscript.

Error while saving Dunning Procedure
Hello All,
After the dunning run, the list was empty. Upon scrutiny, it was found that the field "Dunning Procedure" in customer master data was not populated. After entering the appropriate procedure, i tried to save the settings. That's when i got the error "No dunning settings have been maintained for Company Code XXXX".
The dunning procedure is defined in SPRO.
Regards,
AnuHello,
Dunning procedure is defined at client level.
It must have been assigned and configured accordingly to your company code.
You must assign the dunning procedure for company code.
Assign relevant forms.
Unless you do this this dunning procedure is no meaning for your company code in which your customer resides.

Problem defining an external service using WF_EXTSRV
Hi,
I think that this is the most appropriate forum to post this message, but please correct me if I am wrong.
I'm trying to define an external service for the Webflow to use. In transaction WF_EXTSRV I have to provide details of the service. One field requires the Logical System to be nominated. The help says that this entry must be in table TWPURLSVR. In our system this table is empty, and I cannot figure out in customising where to populate this table.
Anyone have any ideas about this?
BR,
Tony.Hi Anthony,
Couple of things:
1) You may make manual entry in this table.
2) the necessary steps can be found in the documentation: SAP@Web Installation Guide, chapter "Post-Installation Activities".
3) from se80 go to utilities->settings->ITS choose the server where you want to publish or choose all available servers. (note if you dont see the ITS server list in the drop down -ITs may not be configured properly)
I hope these clues help.

Automatic BRS - External transaction Keys
Dear Gurus,
Please provide the standard external transaction keys used for MT490
are these external transaction types are common across all the banks or are they different.. ?
Regards,
AbhijeetHi Abhijeeth,
From your previous post it seems you are trying to configure Electronic Banking Statement Configuration and if i'm not wrong, looks like you are bit confused about the basic account determination objects used. Below is the high level understanding of these, let me know if you have any further questions.
As you might know about the functionality of EBS, lets not get into. Basic terminology used in this customizing 1. Internal Trans type 2. External Tran Type 3. Posting Rules 4. Posting Key 5. Account Symbols. Its important how this is interlinked and data flow from bank statement to GL.
1. Internal Trans Type: Typically bank provides data in various formats, few of these formats are BAI, MT940, SWIFT and MultiCash. Each formats differs by how data is provided by housebank. Most commonly in US we use BAI(2) format. You match these with ECC by configuring Internal Trans Type to correspond to bank these formats(BAI, MT940...). SAP ERP provides defaults with all these and as per your clients requirement, you can create additional ,if required. You can assign only one Internal Trans Type to one bank account. (For ex: BAI2 format to Chase)
2. External Trans Type: For each Internal Trans Type(Ex: BAI) you maintain multiple number of External Trans Types. Using these Ex Tran Type, we Identify different bank transactions in the EBS provided by bank(in this case, format is BAI). Few of the examples of are Incoming Payment by check, Incoming payment by wire, bank charges, etc: Typically, bank has few hundreds of these trans type's identify each of the individual trans type. As said in the above post, these Ex Trans types are provided by bank to you, depending up on your requirement(I believe, we don't need all of these). Here you might notice one thing, Interpretation Algorithm, Mainly this help in interpreting the reference document number in the trans data(Check number, Account doc. number). One thing to keep in mind, when we assign Internal trans type to you bank account, all these external types implicitly assigned. Hope you got the logic.
3. Posting Rule: This is basically a connector between Ex Trans type we discussed about to the GL account determination. We define the posting rule with Debit & Credit GL accounts(actually we use account symbols, in turn we assign this to GL a/c). Importan thing here is, knowing about determining posting area and Account Symbol(Instead of assigning GL accounts directly we assing account symbols to debit/credit posting keys.
4. Account Symbol: We create generic account(For ex: ++++++001) For ex: If you have multiple bank accounts in US, for all these bank accounts configuring individual step of configuring GL account takes time and efforts to make this process easy, we make use of this technique. Make sure, your COA is designed in such a way to match this.
As a recap of above,
1. We first assign Internal Trans Type to a bank account( For Ex: Chase - BAI2)
2. The above Internal Trans Type is assigned to multiple External Trans Type (BAI2 --> 101-Incoming Payment by check, 102, Incoming payment by wire transfer.....)
3. Transaction in the incoming data contains an External Tran Type (For Ex: 101 & 102)
4. As you might know from above, We connect the External Trans type to GL account using Posting rule. For that reason, we assign posting rule to Ex Trans type.
5. Posting rule is Assigned to Account Symbol which in-turn assigned to GL account.
6. Finally data flows to your respective bank GL account.
MBS & Check Depost: As you might observed or know, MBS and Check deposit, follows the same technique differs at few places.
Tran-Codes: Configuration: IMG, Import Bank Statement to ECC: FF_5

Hai All,
I am configuring Electronic Bank statement. There once we define the posting rules we have to go with create trasanction type and assign external trasaction type.To assign the external Trasaction type do we have to define there only or else do we have to create elsewhere and have to assign in assign external trasnaction type.I have doubt in this. Please suggest me how to assign external trasaction type.
ThanksDear:
You can map external transactions to posting rules within a transaction type. After that assign each bank key and bank account combination to the transaction type that should be used for processing statements for that account. If you want different external transaction mappings for different account IDs, then you need to create different transaction types and assign each account to the relevant transaction type. Since the TT are assigned to the account numbers, you can have different TT for accounts with the same bank key.
To have different posting rules for debit and credit, you don't need using separate transaction types: the assignment of a posting rule to external transaction is done separately for + and - signs, so you can assign 2 different posting rules to an external transaction, one for debit and one for credit.

The step-by-step procedure of configuring Split-Valuation
Hi
Can anyone give the step-by-step procedure of configuring Split-Valuation
cheers
MaruthiRamHii,
To used split valuation, you have to activate it using 'OMW0'.
To change split material valuation once it has been set, you must
1. first post out all stocks (for example, to a cost center or with movement type 562)
2. then change the control parameters
3. if necessary, change the automatic account determination
4. finally post the stocks back in again
In split valuation, you can distinguish between partial stocks of a material according to certain criteria and valuate them separately.
The material stock is divided according to valuation category and valuation type.
The valuation category determines how the partial stocks are divided, that is, according to which criteria.
The valuation type describes the characteristics of the individual stocks.
With the function "Setting" you can determine:
which valuation categories exist in your company (global categories)
which valuation types exist in your company (global types)
which valuation types belong to which valuation category
which valuation categories exist in a valuation area (local categories)
Your entries are only relevant if you set split valuation as active in the function "Global settings".
In the standard SAP R/3 System, the following valuation categories are default settings :
B procurement type
with the valuation types:
"EIGEN" for in-house production
"FREMD" for external procurement
H Origin
X automatic valuation (only for batch)
To select split valuation ('OMWC'), proceed as follows:
1. Determine the valuation categories and valuation types that are allowed for all valuation areas:
global valuation categories via menu "Goto --> Global Categories"
global valuation types via menu "Goto --> Global Types"
2. Allocate the valuation types to the valuation categories.
a) Select "Goto --> Global Categories".
b) Position the cursor on a valuation category and select
"Goto --> Global Categories --> Assignments --> 'Types->Category'".
c) Activate the valuation types you want.
3. Determine the local valuation categories for each valuation area.
a) Select "Goto --> Local definitions".
b) Position the cursor on a valuation area and select
"Goto --> Local Definitions --> Allocate Categoires->Org.units (button Cats->(OU)".
You obtain a list of the global valuation categories.
c) Activate the categories to be used in this valuation area.
The system creates the local valuation types based on the allocations under point 2.
Only now can you create a master record with split valuation.
Specifying Split Valuation by creating Material Subject to Split Valuation
1. Create a material master record, selecting the Accounting View 1.
2. Enter your data as required on the Accounting data screen, specifying a valuation category.
(If you can't find the valuation category field, it might be hidden, use OMSR to define the Field Groups.
Look for the field MBEW-BWTTY for Valuation category).
3. Be sure that the price control indicator is V for moving average price and enter a moving average price.
4. In the case of split valuation, you can create only one valuation header record with price control V because the
individual stock values are cumulated, and this total value is written to the valuation header record. This is where the
individual stocks of a material are managed cumulatively. To do this, fill in the Valuation category field on the accounting
screen when you create the material master record and leave the Valuation type field blank.
5. Save your data and the system creates the valuation header record.
6. The initial screen appears.
7. Extend the material by creating new material master records from the Accounting view 1. For the first material, specify a
valuation type in the Organizational Levels dialog box and enter the respective accounting data on the data screen.
Proceed likewise for the other materials, distinguishing between them by valuation type. To do this, call up the material in
creation mode again. Due to the fact that a valuation header record exists, the system requires you to enter a valuation
type for the valuation category.
8. Repeat step seven for every valuation type planned.
You want to valuate the stock of material XYZ that you obtain from manufacturer A in Los Angeles at a different price than the stock you obtain from manufacturer B in Detroit. In this case, the valuation category is H for origin. Your valuation types can be LOS ANGELES and DETROIT.
If a material is subject to split valuation, every quantity (sub-stock) of this material must be assigned to a valuation type (for example, country of origin).
For every valuation type, there are two types of data in the system, as follows:
Valuation data (for example, valuation price, total stock quantity, total stock value), which is defined for every valuation type at valuation-area level and applies to all dependent storage locations.
Stock data, which, like batch data, is managed separately for each storage location. If a material that is subject to split valuation is also subject to management in batches, its stock data is not managed by valuation type, but rather by batch. Every batch is assigned to a valuation type.
The stock quantity, stock value, and valuation price for all valuation types are managed cumulatively at valuation-area level.
Must the Valuation Type Exist Before the First Goods Receipt?
You can post the goods receipt of material of a certain valuation type only if the valuation data for this valuation type already exists, because the system valuates the goods receipt at the price defined in the valuation data. On the other hand, the stock data for the valuation type is created automatically during the first goods receipt into the storage location, if this is defined in Customizing for Inventory Management.
Goods Movements with Materials Subject to Split Valuation
If you want to enter goods movements for materials subject to split valuation, you must enter the valuation type in addition to the material number.
Enter the valuation type in the Batch field for MB01.
In MIGO, there is a valuation type field in Detail data -> Material.

Jhanvihi Jhanvi,
Execute the FBL5N and create your own Layout and from there you select the fields of Dunning and Accounting Clerk and then save that Layout.
If the above fields are not available in that option then go to Tcode O7R3 it is for the Special Fields of finding and sorting DATA.
Click on New Entries and enter the Table name and select the field from the F4 slection and then save it.
Once again go to Tcode Fbl5n and select your layout and now you can see that fields added to that.
Hope this will solve your problem
Cheers
