Duplicate email address

Hi, is it at all possible for some to have the same email or apple/iTunes account email?
I ask because my email address comes up with a different surname to that of mine.

I am also doing the same thing.I am sending mail to more than one mailid and all these mail id I am reading from a property file.These mailids are comma separeted.For EG-->[email protected],[email protected],[email protected]

When you get an email ids from the third party vendor and you are loading into CRM BP master data. how to delete the duplicate email address already exits in the system. In CRM you can create the same BP with different id. I would like to know how to delete the email address during importing email addresses from the third party tool.
During the campaign you are sending email to all your customers, when the customer want to unsubscibe the email address from your list, how to unsubcribe the email address and how to updat the BP master data.
If you are sending the email to customer, you are using html or simple text, if the customer wants only html or simple text, how you to specify in the system?

1. I think you should clear the data with duplicate E-Mail adresses in the external tool.
2. Unsubscription could be done by a Marketing Attribute which could be set by using a Target Group which is created by Campaign Automation. Have a look at this Toppic. There is also a Best Practice avaliable at http://help.sap.com/bp_crmv340/CRM_DE/index.htm.
3. Also HTML or Simple text can be mained in a Marketing Attribute. You have to use different Mail Forms to which are sent to different Target groups.

Easily eliminating duplicate email addresses

I find that I have about 300 email addresses on file but many are duplicated 3 or more times. Is there any easy way to eliminate the duplicates on iPad?

If you use iTunes to sync contacts, open your contact manager, merge duplicates and then sync in iTunes.

I recently updated my 8830. When i sync'd for the first time, it had 1300 changes to my 1300 contacts. Each one had a picture change, but not all to the same picture, some were pictures i have downloaded, some were generic pictures. However, I now have the wrong picture for prolly 1290 contacts that didn't have a picture before. The picture only shows up on my phone, not in my WindowsMail where it shows the default picture.

I never hear this, but try this.
If you have all the correct data in outlook, my suggestion is wipe the device (all the data is erased) and synch the device again.
To wipe the device go to menu, options, security options, general options, press menu, and wipe handheld.

Is it possible to merge duplicate email addresses in the same address book?

Instead of multiple address books have combined them all into one by dragging and dropping into main address book. Is there a method to merge duplicate address such that no data is lost? I.E. if one entry had different data from another duplicate can they be combined such that there is no loss of data?

Remove duplicate email addresses from "To" bar?

Fellow Mac-users,
I am experiencing an annoying issue with my standard mail client and contacts. Though I have extensively searched the net for an answer, I still have been unsuccessful in solving it. I have a MacBook Air that runs on OSX 10.9.1.
I have my contacts stored on the iCloud which is a good thing. Everytime when I compose an email message that I'd like to send I experience the following issue: When I use the auto-fill feature to fill in the recepients ("To"), the contact automatically duplicates itself. So this is how it looks like: "To: [email protected] [email protected] instead of just once".
I have already deleted my complete previous recepients list via the mail preferences. When I disable syncing of contacts on the iCloud, I get the mail addies just once, however my contacts are empty since they are stored on the iCloud.
I have read discussions where it was indicated that the problem might be that the details were stored both on the iCloud accound and on the "On my Mac" account locally and that I should make sure that the latter was both empty and set NOT being the default acount. I expecience issues with both items as firstly it appears that the "on my mac' account is empty (though it does not vanish, as it should); I cannot delete the account and I cannot set my iCloud account as default since that option is not present in the generals tab of my contacts preferences.
I am at a loss here. I would welcome any suggestion that might lead to solving this nasty little problem.

Please test after taking each of the following steps.
Step 1
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBookSourceSync
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash.
Log out, log back in, and test. If there's no change, go to the next step.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Step 2
If you use iCloud, uncheck the box marked Contacts in the iCloud preference pane. Press return to confirm, or click Keep on Mac in the dialog that opens.
Step 3
From the list of groups on the left side of the Contacts window, select All On My Mac. If that group doesn't exist or is empty, skip this step. Otherwise, from the menu bar, select
File ▹ Export ▹ Export vCard
Save the exported contacts to the Desktop.
Step 4
Quit Contacts. Reveal the following item in the Finder as you did in Step 1:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
Move the selected folder to the Desktop, leaving the window open for now.
Step 5
Launch Contacts. Your contacts will be gone. If you took Step 3, then double-click the file you created in that step and confirm that you want to import from it. Your contacts will reappear.
Step 6
If you took Step 2, reverse it. Test. If the issue is resolved, delete the AddressBook folder and the vCard file on the Desktop and close the open folder window.
Otherwise, quit Contacts again and put the AddressBook folder back where it was, overwriting the newer one that will have been created in its place. Post your results.

How to get distinct values in a comma separated list of email addresses?

4) Change the email address associated with your account.

Can anyone tell me if the apple ID area of the site is having issues? I have tried most of the day to change my apple ID in "manage your account" and it will not accept or allow me to change it. This is irritating since it now requires an email address

Can anyone advise if apple is having issues with the APPLE ID portion of their site? I have been trying all afternnon to update my apple id from "Manage your account". It will not allow a revision with the instructions given. THis is most irritating since with the new update your apple ID must now be your email address which is incredibly old and I would certainly like to change it to my current email address!
You have the option to do that but THAT OPTION is also not working at this time.

I am having the same problems. Firstly found out that I had a duplicate email address on two apple ids so I fixed that but now it wont let me verify the email address. When I click on "verify email address" nothing happens. So frustrating cos cant set up Facetime or iMessage on my iPad.

Now when i use my dads computer which has outlook express to send an email from my site the outlook window pops up with my website email address appearing twice in the message mail to: field e.g infoatexample.com infoatexample.com...I am receiving the emails but worried this may confuse people is there a way to change it so it appears only once.

As per the description, I understand that you'll have duplicate email addresses in the To... field when create calendar invites.
In order to understand the issue more deeply, I would like to clarify the following questions:
How did he/she "add people" in the To... field? Did he/she directly type email address or pick it from your address book?
Will the duplicate happen right after adding people in the To... field or after sending the invites?
Seems you've tried a lot on the machine side, I suggest we first try this on OWA (Outlook Web App) and see if issue persists. This will help to determine whether the issue is on the client side or the mailbox (server) side.

Share namespace/email address coexistence w/ Exchange

I know this has been discussed in other threads but I'm trying to find a clear answer on how/if this can be done. I've got a customer who has to co-exist between GroupWise 8 and Exchange 2010 for some period of time. Some users will be migrated from GroupWise to Exchange but the period of coexistence will likely be somewhat long.
Our goal is to be able to share the same namespace (client.com) and setup SMTP coexistence between the two organizations. Actually getting SMTP coexistence working is very simple and I have that working right now. I've also got an external domain configured in GroupWise with external contacts, and I can pick those contacts from the address book and email them without issue.
The problem I have is when I need to migrate a mailbox to Exchange. Using the "old" method of the Exchange 2003 connector and API Gateway in GroupWise, I could simply set the visibility to None on the migrated mailbox and then create a new external user with the same email address and everything works. However for whatever reason when I try to do the same with the external user it complains that the address is already in use.
If I simply define a different email address ([email protected] instead of [email protected]) then mail routing works properly. But I'd really like to keep the same email address to maintain consistency with external email recipients.
I hope this makes sense. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Maybe you're changing the users *primary* email address, but the old one
is still in the list of allowed addresses, e.g vie userid,
first/lastname or some such?

Hi, I am using the oracle membership provider for an application and have found that I can create users and log in just fine however if I try to create a user with a duplicate email address or username the application crashes with the message below. I was thinking this would all be gracefully handled between the CreateUserWizard and the membership provider but apparently not? I've managed to repeat this on two machines but I am certainly no expert in all this.
Anyone come across this before and have any advise on how to sort it out.

Hi, thanks for the help. First I will qualify my answer with the fact that I am by far from any expert in Oracle.
The version I have is 9.2.0.1.0 which is installed on the same machine as the web server there is certainly no remote database involved in this transaction (or there shouldn't be). Using ODAC 11.1.0.6.21
also, not sure if there could be any issues with having Oracle client 9 installed at the same time as this?

Can I zap email addresses from my IPAD that seem to be stored forever

My manager uses his IPAD daily and update the contacts in MobilMe. When I go into MobilMe and check the contacts they are correct but when my manager produces and email and selects the contact he wants to send it to it will show that person in there with an old work email address, a duplicate new work email address and a personal email address. The personal email address is correct, the old email address does not show up in mobilme anywhere that I can see and the duplicate email address I can't find either.
This happens when he uses his IPAD to create a message and/or his I-phone to create a message.
Currently, we are using Lotus Notes as the email provider.
How can I solve this problem?

You would have to install the messaging software on your computer and then connect via USB to retrieve specific information. Can't remember if that software is compatible with this MiFi model or not, I know its not with the MiFi 4510L.
Otherwise what you see on the MiFi is what you get. Use the menu and navigational buttons to poke around the device.

OIM 11g: How to remove rule requiring unique user email addresses

Use the OIM 11g Administrative and User Console to update a user's email address to be the same as another user's address and on save you get error message:
"The user with the attribute Email and value [email protected] already exists"
In OIM 9.1 we used to be allowed duplicate email addresses.
OIM 11g wants them to be unique (refer OIM 11g User Guide table 11-2 in section "11.2 User Entity Definition" which shows the email attribute properties with unique:yes).
How do you change this to "unique:no"?
The OIM 11g Admin Guide section "14 Configuring User Attributes" describes the User.xml file in MDS but doesn't mention unique properties.
The System Properties accessed via System Management->System Configuration doesn't show anything that looks like an option to enforce email address uniqueness.

OIM 11g does not allow duplicate email addresses. We asked Oracle about this and they responded that the feature (duplicate email addresses) was "removed from OIM 11g due to sending mail notifications, security and other related
concerns". We think we can live with this restriction and did not make an enhancement request.
The user guide does show that email address is unique:

but there's no way to override the rule.
