Duplicate entries in Purchased folder

After installing the latest version of iTunes (7.0.2), all of a sudden there are extra entries in my Purchased folder, including all non-purchased songs and duplicates of purchased songs. Is there a way to fix this other than manually deleting all the extras?

I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. See this  thread for background.

  • Upgrade to iTunes 8.1- duplicate entries in library

Since upgrading to 8.1 (and having just managed to rescue my iPhone from sync disaster caused by 8.1) I notice that I have duplicate entries in my purchased library which were not presnet before.
This seems to be songs which were purchased before iTunes Plus versions were avaiable, but were subseqently upgraded to iTunes Plus versions. In the music folder two files can be seen for each song, one of which is locked. Both get listed in the library as the same song in this 8.1 version, something that has not happened in earlier iTunes releases.
Should I do anything to correct the library from showing duplicate entries? Or shoudl I wait for this bug to be fixed?
    Thanks.

um that's not the case for me... I have used the wire that came with the phone as well as the wire that I purchased to charge the phone and the bluetooth headset and I'm still having problems. When I plugin my ipod classic however, it works fine. now the problem with both items is that when I plug them in, is that they show full battery life right away, and they stop charging. The weird thing is that on iTunes, it shows that it does NOT have a full charge. this happens both with the iPhone as well as the ipod. it's very annoying and I have to plug both of them to an electrical outlet so that the battery can charge. And forget about syncing my music, it says it's not recognized, or that is the memory is not available, so it doesn't sync. I've been so ****** at my iPhone lately, that all I want to do is throw it out the window...
And before you suggest what I think you will suggest, yes, I just did a full restore on the **** thing, and it's STILL showing up as fully charged when it's not....
I can't wait till my two years are up with ATT so that I can get rid of this phone.

  • Deleting duplicate entries in iCal?

How do I delete duplicate entries in iCal (identical entries on the same date)?

    Todd,
I suspected a more serious problem because the answer was too easy.
Thousands of duplicate entries...Is this what happened?
According to, Mac OS X 10.4: Stay away from the SyncServices folder: As if it were a swarm of bees, you should stay away from the SyncServices folder in Mac OS X 10.4. Removing or modifying anything in it—or in subfolders within it—may cause unexpected issues. (This folder is located in your Application Support folder, in your Library folder, in your Home folder.)
Deleting or modifying things in the SyncServices folder may cause unexpected results such as:
    • Duplicate contacts in Address Book or appointments in iCal.
    • Data loss in Address Book or iCal.
Important: Any lost or duplicate data could propagate to other devices and computers via iSync and .Mac sync. This means data could be lost on other computers. If that is your problem, I suspect that without a backup, duplicate entry deletion will at best be tedious, and at worst fraught with frustration. You may be better off starting from scratch.

  • Right Click Move menu has duplicate entries

One of my users frequently sorts mail into subfolders on a shared mailbox. They most commonly do this by right clicking the message, selecting Move, then selecting the folder.
Somehow, they ended up with a duplicate entry in the right click menu. In other words, the folder "October 2014" appears twice in the list.
The first question is: how can the duplicate entry be removed?
Secondly, one of these menu items works. When it is selected, the message can then be found in the "October 2014" as expected. The other of these menu items does not work. When it is selected, the mail is no longer in it's original location (inbox,
etc.) but  also does not appear in the "October 2014" folder. Searching her mailbox (even searching all of Outlook) returns no results when searching for a message moved this way. I've
also used Get-mailboxfolderstatistics to examine the folder structure of both her account and the shared mailbox account. Only the one folder named "October 2014" appears to exist.
Second question: How can I find where messages moved with the duplicate entry were moved to? How can I move them to the correct folder?

    Hi,
Do you mean there is a duplicate entry in the Move To Folder history that you see when selecting
    Move?
We can try to clear the Move To Folder history to check the result. To do this, please follow:
    1. Exit Outlook.
    2. Open your Registry Editor and navigate to:
    Outlook 2013
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles\profile name\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046
Outlook 2010 or previous on Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\profile name\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046
    3. Find the registry value named 101f031e.
    4. Rename or delete the value and restart Outlook.
Now, the Move To Folder history will be cleared and next time you move a email to a folder, Outlook will add the entry to the history again.
For the second question, how did the user add the shared mailbox in his Outlook? Please note that in some configurations, you are limited to using the
Current Folder search scope when searching in a shared mailbox. Please try to directly login to the shared mailbox and then search for the disappeared emails. Please let me know the result.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to avoide multiple duplicate entries in adress book?

How to avoide multiple duplicate entries in adress book? I can add the same contact name and number more than twice and the phone isn't warning me at all!!! I's quite a heck for me.

not possible from inside AB AFAIK. but you can do the following. in finder open the folder /users/username/library/application support/address book/metdata. switch to the list mode and sort by date modified. quicklook the vcards at the top to see which ones they are.

  • Duplicate entries in iTunes display, but both entries point to the same physical location.

I've seen lots of discussion about how to remove duplicate copies of the same song, but my issue is different.
iTunes has duplicate entries in its database, but if I do show in finder, then both entries point to the same physical location.
If I delete one entry, then the other entry becomes unusable.
Any idea how I could clean this up? Its annoying because if I select an album to play, then each song gets played twice.

@zoo_bink I too have exactly the same issue however it's not affecting all my files.
One solution, which I'm contemplating, is to backup the iTunes Media folder, delete files, uninstall/reinstall iTunes then re-import the files. The issue may have arisen during initial import. (I'm not sure at this stage if Apple allow iTunes to be uninstalled.)
iTunes music collection is showing 58.95GB versus 57.11GB in Finder so it's not a massive deal but annoying nonetheless as deleting entries isn't an option.
    Any suggestions welcome.

  • Duplicate Entries in Application List ..?? 8230 OS4.6 DTM 6.2 Win XP SP3

    Hi ...
I just noticed that the Application list in DTM shows duplicate entries of 3 of my apps on my 8230 ...
I was curious about what was listed, because I was investigating the phenomenon of MyWorld incorrectly showing the "trial" verions of 2 apps even though I have the purchased version of those apps ... plus ... I seem to have gone down from have 49M free to only 47M, and I wanted to see what was using up those add'l 2M ...
I'd like to be able to tell DTM to UNINSTALL those duplicate apps, but I want to check here first to make sure that actgion won't cause problems with those apps ....
Alternatively, is there anything like a DEFRAG'ing app available for the BB..? (I'm already using MemoryUp Pro v 3.5)
Does anyone have any similar experience(s) with a phenomenon like this ..?
    Thanks in advance!!

... have some add'l info to add:
I just attempted to remove 1 of the dup apps (fet safe in attempting this, because it was listed as a back-level version of the running app...); and the process never got to the REBOOT portion of the procedure ... so the app is still there ...
I've tried disconnecting / reconnecting the device (Win XP had it connected as offline storage, even though I selected NO on both the device and on the pc); but this didn't seem to help to remove the app either ...
So, I'm still curious about ways to address this ....
    TIA

  • HT5373 duplicate entries in iCloud calendar

I see multiple entries of the same event on my iCloud calendar. All my devices ( Macbook and iPhone) shows this. I tried deleting some of the calendars but no use. How do I delete those duplicate entries?
    Thanks

I have had similar duplication problems. All sorted by de-synching. BUT! My wife's birthday now appears on two different dates, following earlier experiments. I delete her card in Address Book, and both related iCal birthday entries disappear. When I add a new Address record for her, whatever I put under Birthday, the old error date shows in iCal.
Running 10.5.2 and iCal 3.0.2, I have to admit I cannot find the Calendars folder in ∼Library/Application Support. Possibly this would cure the problem.

  • Ipad still showing duplicate entries for songs.

my Ipad still showing duplicate entries for songs. I have unchecked Show Itunes in the Cloud purchases, I have tried replacing all items when autofilling (before syncing) I have even logged out then back into itunes, to no avail. Can you please assist? Thank you

hi guys, i was just googling the problem as i too have it, i am currently trying to sort it, i have deleted all my music off my phone using itunes and then put it all back on and also tried deleting it and outting 1 album on at a time, still not got rid of the duplicate tracks, i have now used the show duplicate items view and deleted those off my itunes library. i think i may have come across the problem!! i have just deleted all my music off my iphone using itunes again, and it shows nothing being on my iphone, however, if i go into music on my actual phone it is still showing 126 songs and none of them play. so i have now deleted them manually directly from the phone and am now putting all my music back onto my phone hoping i have cured the issue of ghost tracks.
ill let you know when its done if we are cured!!
BOOOOOMMMM!!!!! it worked!!! been so frustating, now its all good, hope this helps anyone with the same issues

  • Index search returns duplicate entries

When I double-click on an index entry in the compiled .chm to
open it, the Topics Found window opens with 2 duplicate entries --
even though the topics are only entered in the index once. Any
    ideas?

    Hi Bill
First off, I'm pleased Cindy's issue was resolved. However,
what you explained as the reason doesn't seem to match my
understanding of RoboHelp. So naturally I have questions.
    You said:
These files will start with the letters "rlt" and are created by
the system whenever you edit a file that is flagged as read
    only.
Now I've always understood that these little beasties only
    get created when you
preview a topic. I do know that it's not uncommon to find
them lurking about among your true project files. I've always
assumed that something happened that caused RoboHelp not to be able
to clean up after itself, leaving these orphan files behind. I've
also always advised students that these files are totally safe to
blow away, as they are simply temporary files created and used
    during the process of previewing.
So I performed a little test. I used a small test project and
flagged one of my topic files as read only. I then tried to edit
the file. It opened just dandy in the WYSIWYG editor. But when I
tried to edit, I received a message advising the file was read only
and asking if I really intended to edit. After saying yes, the read
only flag was removed and the edit happened just fine. During this
whole process, I monitored the folder location and never saw the
    rlt file appear.
I then tested my preview theory. I previewed the topic and
flipped over to Windows Explorer and sure enough, there was my
    little additional rlt file.
Now here's the kicker. I was trying to duplicate what Cindy
reported. But regardless of how I try to induce it, I'm not able
to. Because RoboHelp normally removes the rlt file after you close
the preview, I sneaked behind RoboHelp's back and flagged the rlt
as read only. This way RoboHelp couldn't delete it and clean up. I
then closed the preview. Compiled and tested and no duplicate Index
entries. I also examined the compiled .CHM for the existence of any
file beginning with rlt. Again, nothing.
Needless to say, I'm more than a bit confused at this point.
    Cheers... Rick

  • ZipException -  Duplicate entry

    Hi all,
I am trying to zip a number of files(reside in different folder) into the same zip file. However, i encountered duplicate entry exception due to i try to add two same zip entry into the zip file.
The way i try to avoid such exception is as followed (I will simply ignored the duplicate exception due to the nature of my program.):
    public void addToZipFile()
        try
            //some code here
        catch(ZipEntry ex)
            String msg = ex.getMessage();
            if(msg.indexOf("duplicate") > 0)
                  //ignored such error
            else
                 throw ex;
}Is the above method a right implementation to deal with the duplicate entry exception ? Any suggestion ?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.
As i said the files i try to zip are resided in different folder , so they can have the same filename.... And due to the nature of my program ..... i add only one of those repeated files.....and it satisfy my requirement .... it is too troublesome to explain why i only add one of those repeated file.
I just try to find out is the way i handle the exception is correct ?
    thanks

  • How can you EASILY delete duplicate entries

For some reason, I have duplicate entries of most everyone on my iPhone 5S - is there an easy way to delete these instead of going into each duplication and scrolling to the bottom to delete????

I am responding to your reply to davidfrommonterey (Jul9,2011).  To quote: "If these are seen in iPhoto it would be good to figure out how they got there since it is typical that iPhoto will not import duplicates.

Duplicate annihilator is a good tool for finding duplicates - http://www.brattoo.com/propaganda/
If you are seeing them in the finder then don't - you should never go into the iPhoto library using the finder

I have a similar problem.  My point is my photos are not importing as duplicates, they are  duplicating and moving  from one album to another, sometimes bumping the contents of said  folder to another location.  I cannot find a logical explanation.  I tried the trial version of Duplicate Annihilator, but that was a bust since it could locate only five (5) dups.  Any suggestions?          BRENDA Sfrom Charleston

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

  • Problem with duplicate entries in a structure.

    Hi,
I am creating a custom structure by including 2 structures in it as DRSEG and COBL_MRM_D.
Now both the structures have many common fields and hence it gives an error on check.
Is there any workaround to create the structure in DDIC by including both the above structures.
    Pls help with your ideas.
    Thanks,
    stock.

    Hi
Create a DDIC structure which has all the common fields. Include this structure only once .
Then include the fields which are not common from both the structure into the created structure . so that no duplicates entries are present
    OR
Include the first structure then dont include the second structure include only the fields which are not common to both . this also eliminates the duplicates
