DW CS4 can't see CFCs in site

Dreamweaver CS4, with ColdFusion 8 extensions installed and Dreamweaver sites defined, refuses to see CFCs in sites defined in Dreamweaver on my localhost testing server. The Components Panel says "There are no CFCs defined in the current site", even though they clearly appear in the Files Panel, whether creating a CFC with the DW wizard, hand-coding with a new file in the site, or copying a CFC file into a site folder. Also, when attempting to create a CFC query (via adding a recordset from the Bindings panel), I can see the site folder in the Bindings panel, but the CFC Query form itself will not let me browse to or find in the dropdowns the CFC I want to use. Have tried refreshing views and panels in DW, restarting DW and rebooting.

Use an FTP client that allows you to view "hidden" items on a server. No server changes required.

Can't see my local site on ios device

Hi there!
Edge inspect is installed, Chrome is running, iMac and iPhone are connected with each other - but I can't see the local site I opened on my Mac in the iPhone screen.
I opened the the website I am currently working on with chrome on my Mac and now it should appear on my iPhone screen, too. Shouldn't it? Other regular www-tabs are shown.
What am I missing?

Hi bartl,
Edge Inspect needs the site to be served through a web server for a number of reasons, but primarily because that allows an external computer to access the files in a way that doesn't compromise machine security. To view local pages you can set up a web server like MAMP/WAMP or Web Sharing on iOS, so you don't need upload your files to a web server elsewhere. Inspect understands localhost and 1270.0.1 URLs and the connected devices will translate those so you don't need to set up a virtual host name.
You're right, Edge Inspect doesn't provide web hosting as a feature, and it's not intended to. The primary features of Edge Inspect are:
synchronous browsing - so if you have multiple devices connected you don't need to browse/refresh on each individually
connection management - so that devices connect quickly and easily and (attempt to) remain connected to your computer
screenshots - take individual or multiple screenshots simultaneously with a single click and without needing to root the device
remote inspection - inspect the DOM of the remote device on your computer via weinre

Dreamweaver CS4 - Can't see table cells and borders

Hello you all. I just started using CS4 and whenever there is a white background I can't see any of the table cell or main borders.
I went to View>Visual Aids>Table Borders and it is on, but I can't seem to find the area I need to change the color to view it on white.

I just remember the previous versions would allow you to change the dotted line color that indicated the table and cell borders.
Must say I can't ever remember that being a preference in any previous version of DW.
Sadly, it looks like I will be using tables to set up my site. Haven't adopted CSS as much as I'd like at this point.
Now's as good a time as any to start with CSS from the ground up.
Try one of the pre-made templates in DW under File > New

Can't see my "new site"

I have created a website, then created new pages, sure I can do that, but now, after creating a "New Site", and I can see it and edit it in iWeb, but when i go into iWeb on my "new site" and go "view published site" . . . I cannot see it published... I keep getting this error "We're sorry but we can't find the iWeb page you've requested. It's possible that.." So I put it in as a link to this site I can't see, as a reference off my home page, but it STILL get the same error! Why would this be? I could post my website if that will help solve the problem...
Is there a limit to the number of "sites" one can create in iWeb?

After saving and "publishing", it says "do you want to visit site"... sure, all looks good, but obviously it is not working!??!?

Some people can't see my iWeb site

Quite a few people complain of not being able to see bits of my iWeb site, most typically these are users from the public sector, and they either can't see photos or albums, or, worse still, can't see any of the links iWeb puts automatically at the top of the page, so they only see the one page. Is there anything I can do make sure everyone can see it?

Can't see my second site

I've published my 1st site and can see it via my browser, but when I created a second site with iWeb08 and tried to see how it looked via my browser I get an error of "We're sorry but we can't find the iWeb page you've requested. It's possible that" can anyone help me

are you publishing to a different destination? how are you uploading? publishing to folder?

I can't see my iWeb site on iPage hosting

I made my site in iWeb after upgrading to LION
I bought my domain name and published my site to the iPage hosting service
my site should appear at www.positivelyproudtobeme.com However, what shows up when I go to that URL is a blank white screen or a redirect page saying the site hasn't been created yet.
When I log into my ipage account directly, I can see the pages on preview, but can't get them to publish.
Can anyone help? Please!

The index.html file you have in your root folder is - more or less - blank. You need to upload a new copy. Try publishing the who;e site again using the iWeb FTP.
The external index.html file is slightly different to the one inside the website folder.

Can only see iWeb created site on iPhone

I made some major changes today on my site and once I uploaded those changes Safari "couldn't find host" when I went to my site? What's weird is I can see my site on my iPhone. If I try to go to my site on any computer in the house it says "can't find host". This one has me baffled. I've tried deactivating my domain from mobileme and then reactivating it. I've cleaned out my iweb site from mobileme and re-uploaded it. I've changed it's name. I've reset Safari, emptied the cache and reset the history. The only thing I haven't done is reset the router to factory state.
Again, I can see my site perfectly on my iPhone but not from my mac's at home.

I have received a malaware warning on a site that I have paid to join, because of this warning I don't feel confident to access the site any longer. How can I see if the site is safe/protect my pc?

If a malware warning comes up on a site I reguarly use and subscribe to how can I protect my pc and still access the site or contact the site holder to get the problem rectified?
There was a link to google web checker and they said that they hadn't been on the site for over 90 days and they did not see any threats however, the malware warning keeps coming up when I try to access the site.

At present there are no known remote exploits against a fully-updated installation of OS X 10.6 or later. Make sure Java (not JavaScript) is disabled in your browser, and don't trust the site with any personal information. Don't open any files downloaded from it.

MX2004 - CS4 : can't see new CSS outlining

I got out of the stone age and got CS4 mainly for graphic workflow and easier integration with DW. What sold me is being able to see the outlining CS4 shows with CSS.
But when I brought in all my websites and opened them it pretty much display as MX did although of course there's live view etc. BUT there's no outlining around all the CSS page content and there's no tree when I view the CSS files.
I mainly used MX2004 for hand coding since its so old and all the site render properly in the browsers. Why won't they take advantage of the new features in DWCS4? Is it because they were created in MX? It shouldn't matter to the CSS should it?

I also make extensive use of Firebug in Firefox to see which rule is affecting which element in the layout.
When you say there's no CSS tree, are you referring to the CSS Panel in DW or the Code in Code View or something else?

PS CS4 can't see script in folder

I have a Slideshow Pro script installed that I use in Photoshop to batch export Photoshop files for use in Flas with Slideshow Pro. The file is in c:\program files (x86)\adobe\adobe photoshop cs4\presets\scripts, and I have that location set in preferences. But it does not show up when I pick File > Scripts. I can browse to it and run it, but it used to show up in CS3.
ANyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks.
(fyi - The Slideshow Pro plugin works fine in Flash.)

Maybe you simply have too many scripts in that folder? I believe the length of the list is limited to 20 entries or so... You may also need a newer "official" version of the script perhaps, that correctly hooks it into PS CS4. Perhaps some minor thing has changed that prevents it from showing up, if it is an older version...

I have added a domain name ‘mikesinks.com’ with go daddy which worked fine to start with but now when I go to the safari button it directs me to http://web.me.com/mmerry/Mikes_Inks/Welcome.html along with the message Safari can’t open the page “http://www.mikesinks.com/Mikes_Inks/index.html” because Safari can’t find the server “www.mikesinks.com”.

PS CS4 Can't see the filters previews.

I am using Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, I already updated to Ver. 11.0.1
My problem is that when I open the filters, like "Unsharp Mask" the window that shows the filter preview
doesn't show anything, it remains blank. This is happening with all the filters that have previews. My OS

The updated version of Safari no longer uses the thumbnail view. It uses tabs. Take a look at iCab Mobile. It offers similar thumbnails to the previous version of Safari.

Despite numerous reboots Firefox would not open for 3 days because apparently it was occupied, how can I see what it is occupied with and how to close it ?

I opened my online banking site but could not sign in or sign out hence I closed the website and closed Firefox. For 3 days I could not open Firefox nor Explorer. During the 3 days I rebooted several times. On the forth day when I opened Firefox a screen opened saying Firefox was embarrassed etc. etc.. and that I could restore my online banking site which I did. I was able to sign in and sign out of the account and close the website. My question is when Firefox locks up like this, how can I see if a site is open in Firefox if I can't open Firefox?

The 'Embarrassed' screen comes up when Firefox has not closed down correctly and is trying to restore the situation. This will not always succeed, and you may have to do a normal restart.

You should always try to close Firefox by using

Where possible try to avoid closing by: killing the process, closing the window, or turning off the computer whilst Firefox is running.
If you are unable to sign in to a website sometimes it may be a Firefox problem, other times it may be an internet problem, or the site itself.

I do not know why you could not open firefox for 3 days, presumably a problem with your computer. Note even if there is no internet Firefox itself should still open when required.
If Windows Explorer is not running/working there was probably not much you could easily do with the computer. Or was your problem with Internet Explorer (The default Windows Browser) again possibly a symptom of a bigger problem.
