DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.
First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there. I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me. I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there. I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it. That is what opened the new window with new content. I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work. If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.
I know this is long, but here is my code for the page.

I'm confused by your post and code. Adobe has a function to do this. In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu. The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now). But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
<select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window. If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window. A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.

CS4 Help with spry menu bar. Want Top Centered and Subs left-justified.
Hi there, using DW8 mostly, but have the trial version of CS4
for the spry menu bar. WinXP.
Can someone help me with the spry menu bar on this page? I'd
like the main menu to be centered, as it looks better for
appearance, and the sub menus to be left-justified.
http://www.manmeetswoman.com/example4.html
But I can't seem to do that, if I make the main menu
centered, it seems to override the submenus even if I make a class
just for the submenu to be left-justified.
Am I doing something wrong or is this not possible?
And the menu bar looks horrific in IE6. I assume it looks ok
in IE7 and above. Can someone help me with a code just for IE6 for
this?audio90 wrote:
Not quite what I was looking for. I'm wanting the top menu to be grouped together and to the right and the submenu boxes to all a single square box, not just with backgrounds extending only the length of the word. Also, your menu bar doesn't display properly in IE6 either.
1) You should be able to achieve a square box for your submenu items by fixing the widths of all of your submenu items to something larger than the content of your widest submenu <li> tag. This should be achievable with a single change of setting in the following CSS rule.
ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul li {
width:???em;
Set your width using em units, so that the box shrinks and grows with the size of the text when the latter is changed by the user.
2) Getting your top menu items to group together to the right may be more difficult as the entire menu bar is built on an HTML list structure with left-floated <li> tags. If it is possible, then you should begin your experimentation with the following CSS rule
ul.MenuBarHorizontal li {
float:right;
Change the float property from left to right, as I have indicated.
My suspicion, however, is that many subsequent adjustments will have to be made. So, back up your current CSS file before you begin.

[Help]Help with Jump Menu
Hi there,
I wanna make an inserting form , like that
Name:
E-mail:
Location: (list menu : US, UK, ARE, UAI, Else) if the user choosed "Else" Show a text field to type his location ,
when I tried "Jump Menu" it reset fields for sure , so is there any pro way ??
Thanks.The problem you are experiencing here is that you have selected the wrong type of menu item for your form. There are 2 types of drop-downs that Dreamweaver can create in a form. There is a list/form and jump menu. The jump menu is used so that once an item is selected from this menu you are redirected to another page or website, or if this is undefined it simply refreshes the page you are on. This is not what you want. When you select this, look at the item right next to it in the menu and you will see a List/Menu. This is the type of drop-down you want when someone is filling out a field in a form that will be submitted to an email/database.

Help with jumper setting on my new internal HD?
Just got my internal HD Samsung 500gb for my powermacG5.
It comes with a jumper. I want to use the new HD as an extra HD and keep the original 160gb HD as main.
On my new HD how should I set the jumper (if at all)?
Set as Master
Set As slave
select cable
Thank you.Unless the drive won't work to auto-negotiate, leave be, or if the vendor's FAQ or K.B. says you must jumper it in older systems that don't support 3Gbps.
I've read good things about Samsung drives, just never gotten one for myself.

Is there a way to open a new window from the "Go" menu in Mavericks?

Is there a way to open a new window from the "Go" menu?Before Mavericks, I was able to go from the Finder to the top menu "Go" -> "Utilities", or Applications or Home… and a new window would open.
Now I have to manually open a new window to avoid loosing my existing window.
Is there a way to open a new window from the "Go" menu?
First, as others have already stated.....make sure the checkbox is deselected for "open folders in tabs instead of windows" in Finder Preferences.
If you're like me and don't like tabs very much, there is a way to make folders always open in windows with a simple click (I'm using Mavericks 10.9.5). Go to a root folder (for example, the Documents Folder), open it, and select View > Hide Toolbar, then all folders within that root folder will open in a new window.
As an alternative method, any folder can be opened in a new window by holding down either Command Key while clicking the folder. But sooner or later you will forget to hold down that key, and then clicking on a folder will open in a tab (which will automatically resize the window and cause much aggravation).
The Hide Toolbar trick will also work with any folder present on the Desktop. It will make all folders inside that folder open in new windows.
To make the Applications Folder open in a new window when opening it from the menu bar at the top of the screen, you will have to open the main hard drive folder and use the Hide Toolbar trick. This will cause all folders inside it to open in new windows.
Hope this helps. -
or when i tri google search, this url is automatically open and open a new window inside a tab.
Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?<br/> A troubleshooting mode.<br />
You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running. <br />
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut to open it again.
If not, see this: <br />

In the past(recent past) I was able to open a new window of Firefox by licking on File then there was an option to open a new window(session) of Firefox. At some point which I am unsure of that option is no longer there. Does anyone know why or how I can correct or fix it?
I'd very much appreciate the help because I miss the feature very much!If you do not see the menu bar with the File menu then see Menu bar is missing
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes and Troubleshooting plugins
You can also try "Reset toolbars and controls" on the Safe mode start window -

The only ways to avoid opening a new window with the home page is either to set the home page to about:blank (ie disabling the home page) or use a bookmark with the location set to about:blank and use Shift + left-click to open that link in a new window. -
I am having problems when i have minimized windows and try to open a new window it will open all minimized windows along with the new window. It just changed when mozzilla updated. It did not do this before the update. Before the update if i had minimized windows they would stay minimized when i opened a new window. Please help ,I would guess it is just a setting somewhere but i cannot figure out where the setting is. Thanks jason

Problem with Javascript and opening a new page
Hi,
I'm developping a website with Java Server Faces.
I've a problem with JavaScript.
I have a table, and each row of that table, has a button, to display more information about that specific row. I want to display this information in a new window. For this I want to use JavaScript.
The new window, of course, needs some information of the other window, to show the right data.
The first time I click the 'more-information-button', it works perfectly, but from than on, he keeps showing the same information...
Here is my jsp-page of the first page (the one with the table):
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<jsp:root version="1.2" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page">
<jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"/>
<f:view>
<f:loadBundle basename="languages.MessageBundle" var="bundle"/>
<html>
<head>
<meta content="no-cache" http-equiv="Cache-Control"/>
<meta content="no-cache" http-equiv="Pragma"/>
<title>- UCV-Period -</title>
<link href="resources/stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>
</head>
<body style="-rave-layout: grid">
<h:dataTable binding="#{UcvPeriod.dataTable1}" headerClass="list-header" id="dataTable1" rowClasses="list-row-even,list-row-odd" rows="5"
style="left: 24px; top: 168px; position: absolute" value="#{UcvPeriod.dataTable1Model}" var="currentRow">
<h:column binding="#{UcvPeriod.column1}" id="column1">
<h:outputText binding="#{UcvPeriod.outputUcvPeriod}" id="outputUcvPeriod" value="#{currentRow['UCVPERIOD']}"/>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText binding="#{UcvPeriod.outputText2}" id="outputText2" value="#{bundle.ucvPeriod_columnHeader_ucvPeriod}"/>
</f:facet>
</h:column>
<h:column binding="#{UcvPeriod.column11}" id="column11">
<h:commandButton action="#{UcvPeriod.btnDetails_action}" binding="#{UcvPeriod.btnDetails}" id="btnDetails" value="+" onclick="window.open('Details.jsp')"/>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText binding="#{UcvPeriod.outputText21}" id="outputText21" value=""/>
</f:facet>
</h:column>
</h:dataTable>
</h:form>
</body>
</html>
</f:view>
</jsp:root>Here is my action, when someone clicks on the 'more-information-button':
public String bthnDetails_action() {
Object s = outputUcvPeriod.getValue();
BigDecimal ucvPeriod = (BigDecimal)outputUcvPeriod.getValue();
this.getSessionBean().setUcvPeriod(new Integer(ucvPeriod.intValue());
return "detail_ucvperiod";
}Here is my constructor of the Detailspage.
public Details() {
this.txtUcvPeriod.setValue(this.getSessionBean().getUcvPeriod());
}Here is the navigation part for this part of my faces-config.xml .
<navigation-rule>
<from-view-id>/UcvPeriod.jsp</from-view-id>
<navigation-case>
<from-outcome>detail_ucvperiod</from-outcome>
<to-view-id>/UcvPeriod.jsp</to-view-id>
</navigation-case>
</navigation-rule>Thx a lot....

Since you can open a new window when your button is clicked, the tutorial and FAQ will explain ways to pass your data to the new window.

Problem with open in new window for second level tab
Hi Friends,
I am using 2 level tabs in my application. In my second level tab when i right click and select *open in new
window* it is giving Page not found error. But for the first level tabs it is working correctly. How can i fix this so
that either i can show the page when right click the tab and select open in new window or disable the right clicking
for the second level tabs. Please help,
Thanks
JeevHi,
I don't think its exactly possible, as tabs use javascript:doSubmit('somevalue'); and you can not open javascript in a new window, as javascript usually references the current page you are on, and since you open the javascript in a new window, it doesn't know what to reference. The most helpful thread I found was : Re: Open other tab in a new window (ATD reply, third from the bottom).

Tabs only open in a new window. Ctl T opens a new window NOT a new tab help-last update this problem started 2 days ago. How do I set FF back to open tabs in 1 window?
There is no plus sign and going into optins and changing settings has not worked. I have uninstall FF and reinstall-keeping my personalization-and that was no help.
Right clicking on FF Icon to open a new tab, or going up to FF drop down tab and clicking on new tab both do not work.
Help everything opens a new window not a new tab. there seems to be no way to reset this or to chose a different optin. I just downloaded new tabs at end addon and it didn't do a thing.as a first troubleshooting step - does it work like normally when you open & run firefox in safemode by pressing the shift key while you open firefox (all other instances have to be closed before)...
