Dynamic actions query

hello gurus
Iam new to  HCM , i have a query when we go in   for dynamic actions configurations what does " PSPAR-MASSN " stand for and where can i see the  details for this .
Regards
Lakshmi

hi,Lakshmi!
While conifguring dynamic actions, you would use this term while checking conditions - to check whether a particular action type ( MASSN ) is being executed based on which you will execute the dynamic action.
A typical dynamic action condition check will look somewhat like this :
Itype : 0002
FC : 04
No : 903
S : P
Variable Function part : PSPAR-MASSN='01'
Thus, through this step in the dynamic action you will be checking whether action type 01 is being executed.

  • Refresh report title with dynamic action

    Hi all,
    I have a report that is refreshed with an dynamic action. When the refresh is performed, first the value of two hidden variables are set (P2_ID and P2_NAME) and are submitted (using a dynamic action type 'pl/sql', with code 'null;' and page items to submit: P2_ID,P2_NAME).
    In the query of the report, i use :P2_ID in the where-clause. That's all working like a charm! The one thing that doen't work, is the title of the region: that's defined as 'Properties of &P2_NAME.', but the title isn't refreshed when the report gets refreshed.
    Is there a solution for this? I hope I'm clear enough.

    See Re: Dynamic action - Refresh
    So you are right; the native Refresh action just refreshes the report content, it does not perform &ITEM. substitutions everywhere in the region.
    What you could do is use a named SPAN as the title like <span id="my_title">&P2_NAME.</span> and add a TRUE action to your Dynamic Action to set the title using Execute Javascript code $s('my_title',$v('P2_NAME'));Hope this helps.

  • Dynamic action with interactive report region refresh

    Hi!
    I'm using APEX 4.02
    I've got a page with 2 regions.
    Region1 is a (input) form
    Region2 is an interactive report on the same table as region 1
    When entering values on the form I'm trying to dynmically lookup similar records in the table with the interactive report.
    I've made a dynamic action on the change of the form fields which should refresh the interactive report region. I can see this one fires if I add a alert to debug if it fires.
    The dynamic report is based on a query with bind variables pointing to the form fields, for example
    where
    field1 = :P2_FIELD1
    This works great on the page load, so no dynamic action is fired but I can see the rows in the report region are the ones I am looking for.
    But the refresh of the report region is not working, it is never refreshing and/or showing the correct data after a change of the form fields, so it looks like the dynamic action "refresh region" is not working on the interactive report.
    Any ideas why this can go wrong ?
    I would like to solve this using standard dynamic actions and preferrably not via PL/SQL or JS, shoudl be possible if I should believe the documentation... ;)
    Cheers
    Bas

    Hi,
    When you change value to item, I assume you do not set value to session state.
    Use interactive report advanced attributes "Page Items to Submit" , set items session state before report is refreshed.

  • How to create a dynamic action from link column in classic report

    I Have an apex page that display a modal window utilizing jquery. In the modal window I have a classic report with a link column that I want to capture its click event.
    I was thinking I could create a dynamic action with selection type=jquery selector. Not for sure if I need to do anything on link column and do not know the syntax
    for jquery selector. Would appreciate any help or direction???

    Thank you for your response. I am very new to Jquery so don't understand all that well.
    What I did:
    I created a dynamic action
    Event: Click
    Selection Type: jQuery Selector
    jQuery Selector: tdheaders
    Created True Actions
    I created an alert to see if this is being executed.
    Alert 'I made it here'
    What I have:
    I created a report region with the following query:
    Select empno, ename, 'SELECT' from emp
    where (ename like '%'||ltrim(rtrim(:P2_SEARCHPU))||'%'
    or :P2_SEARCHPU is null)
    I created 'SELECT' column as Link Column
    Report Attributes
    Link Text Select
    Target Page in this Application
    Page 2
    Region Header
    <div id="ModalForm2" title="Employee List" style="display:none">
    Region Footer
    </div>
    This report is displayed in a modal form when a button is clicked.
    Code for modal window in Page Header
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $( function() {
    $('#ModalForm2').dialog(
    { modal : true ,
    autoOpen : false ,
    buttons : {
    Cancel : function() {
    closeForm2();
    function openForm2()
    $('#ModalForm2').dialog('open');
    function closeForm2()
    $('#ModalForm2 input[type="text"]').val('');
    $('#ModalForm2').dialog('close');
    </script>
    I am trying to capture the click event on the link column of the report in the modal form. I want to pass a couple of column values
    back to the main form and close the modal window. I do not want to do the submit that happens if I click on the link column and link back to the main page(2)
    If I let the submit to happen, all other entered fields are cleared on my main form.
    Just don't understand the jQuery selector. I have no problem catching the button clicks on the modal form.

  • Help using a dynamic action to update tabular form items (specifically radio button) based on collection

    Hi Everyone, I have posted this question in the past and made huge progress with Denes Kubicek's help:  https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=31517:294:115851992029365::::: based on my earlier question posted: https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2537494
    I am struggling with one item in my tabular form.  It is a radio button.  The choices all appear properly, but the value is not saved in the collection (and hence, not saved in the table).  All other items in the tabular form save properly.
    here is what I have for the query.   It is item c024 (which maps to ;'f03'), which is defined as a radio LOV based on an existing LOV.
    Currently I have:
    2 page items:
    P110_ID
    P110_VALUE
    Dynamic action called CHANGE COLUMN:
    event: CHANGE

    from apex_collections
    where collection_name = 'SPECIES_COLLECTION' order by seq_id
    I have noticed the following:
    when I change column C011 (price) the following values are set in the dynamic action:
    P110_ID = f11_1
    P110_VALUE = whatever I change the price to.
    when I change the column C024 (hms_flag), the following values are set:
    P110_ID = f03_0001
    P110_VALUE = whatever I change hms_flag to.
    the region is refreshed in my dynamic action, and the change for hms_flag does not hold.  I have tested the SQL query that generates the value for v_SEQ in the dynamic action.   In both a change to price and HMS_FLAG it appears valid
    select ltrim(substr(:p110_ID,5,4),'0') into v_seq from dual;
    if f11_1, v_seq:= 1
    if f03_0001, v_seq := 1
    thank you!

    solved.  sort of.
    field c024 references f03.
    the Dynamic ACtion, step 4 calculates v_member by taking a substring of P110_ID...and in all other fields, the column and the field (fxx) are the same value....except for c024.
    I am not certain exactly how to resolve, but see the problem.

  • How can a classic report be filtered using one select item and dynamic action?

    APEX 4.2.1
    DB 11g
    I have a page with 4 reports on it.  The top report is an interactive report and the following 3 are classic reports.  The users would like to be able to use a select list to filter the 3rd report by PO line number without refreshing the entire page.
    After verifying that the report is set to allow partial refreshes, I took the following steps
    1.  Created a PO Line select item (p_po_line_select) in the same report region
    2.  Added p_po_line_select to the report query
    3.  Created a dynamic action on p_po_line_select with 2 true actions
         1.  Set value (p_po_line_select)
         2.  Refresh report region.
    The Set Value dynamic step was not working; I would get an out of memory error at line 2, memory stack error, or the value did not get saved to session state depending on the settings I selected.  I was able to get it working with the following set:
    1.  Action = Set Value
    2.  Set type = PL/SQL Expression
    3.  PL/SQL Expression = :p_field_does_not_exist
    4.   Page items to submit = blank
    5.  Selection Type = Item(s)
    6.  Item(s) = p_field_does_not_exist
    p_field_does_not_exist does not exist as a page or application item which leads me to believe that this is a bug and I am just lucky that it worked.  I would rather know how to do this properly.  Can someone please provide a link to a working example of how this should be done or state which settings are wrong?
    I was able to reproduce the issue in the following app
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=4500:1000
    workspace = occam
    user  test/apex1

  • Multiple Select List does not Refresh with Dynamic Action

    All,
    Scenario:
    Using APEX 4.2.2, I have a Select List page item (P4_SPONSOR) set to allow multiple values which has a dynamic LOV to populate the list.  What I would like to do is highlight the display values based on another page item's value (P4_DRIVER_ID).  When I set the source of P4_SPONSOR to static text, such as a delimited string of 1:2:3:4, any display values where the return values are equal to the static text are highlighted when the page loads.
    Problem:
    The problem lies in trying to use a query as a source for P4_SPONSOR which is filtered based on the other page item, P4_DRIVER_ID.  For instance, my SQL Query (returning colon separated values) returns the same as the static text noted above.  In the query's WHERE clause, I specify that the driver's ID is equal to P4_DRIVER_ID:
    SELECT sponsor_id
    FROM sponsors_drivers_xref
    WHERE driver_id = :P4_DRIVER_ID;
    This, as I understand it, would necessitate a refresh of P4_SPONSOR whenever the value of P4_DRIVER_ID changes.  So, I have a Dynamic Action that does just that.  When executed on the page, I can see the P4_SPONSOR multiple select list actually refresh, but none of the display values become highlighted.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks,
    -Seth.

    Seth,
    A dynamic action refresh of your select list will refresh the list of values (this is what you are seeing), it will not refresh the value of the item itself.  In fact, it will remove any values that you had already selected.  To refresh the value you will need to add additional dynamic actions.
    Create another dynamic action with:
    Event: After Refresh
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P4_SPONSOR
    If this was a normal select list you could just create a Set Value action and use your query to set the value of the select list.  Since this is a multiple select list your will need to get your colon delimited value first and then use some javascript to set the values of your select list.
    Create an hidden page item name P4_SPONSOR_TEMP.
    Add a true action to your new dynamic action:
    Action: Set Value
    Set Type: SQL Statement
    SQL Statement:
    SELECT sponsor_id
    FROM sponsors_drivers_xref
    WHERE driver_id = :P4_DRIVER_ID;
    Page Items to Submit: P4_DRIVER_ID
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P4_SPONSOR_TEMP
    Add another true action to your new dynamic action:
    Action: Set Value
    Set Type: JavaScript Expression
    JavaScript Expression:
    $("#P4_SPONSOR_TEMP").val().split(":")
    Selection Type: Item(s)
    Item(s): P4_SPONSOR

  • Calling a BI Publisher report from a dynamic action

    Greetings,
    I am working with Apex 4.1.0. I have created a BI Publisher query and layout and defined them in the Shared Components for my application. I also created a button defined as 'Download Printable Report Query'. When I press the button, everything works as expected. The page variable is passed to the report and the report prints as it should.
    My question is, can I run this report using a Dynamic Action instead of a button?
    Thanks
    Larry

    Hi,
    All that such a button does is submit the page and branch to page zero passing in the request field something like this:
    PRINT_REPORT=my_report
    So, to do the same in a dynamic action, use an "execute javascript code" action with something like this in it:
    location.href = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=my_report';

  • Unable to create a dynamic action ALERT to be generated on a Select List when particular value is selected.

    Hi everyone, this should be so easy, yet I am stuck.
    I have a form region with an item P110_VESSEL_ID.   This item is a select list.   It is based on the query:
    select distinct v.vessel_name, v.vessel_id
    from vessels vessels v, frequent_fishermen ff
    where ff.dea_permit_id = :G_PERMIT_ID and
    ff:vessel_id = v.vessel_id
    UNION
    select v.vessel_name, v.vessel_id
    from apex_collections a, vessels v
    where collection_name = 'SUPVES_COLLECTION' and
    a.c002 = v.vessel_id
    If the user decides against the values in the select list query, they may opt to SELECT ALL VALUES.  This SELECT ALL VALUES is a POST ELEMENT TEXT on P110_VESSEL_ID.
    <a id="popVessels" href="#"><font color=blue>Select from ALL Vessels</a>
    This all works fine.
    The issue is that when the user selects a vessel name = 'UNKNOWN' and it's corresponding vessel_id value, I would like an ALERT to appear indicating that they should double check that the vessel is UNKNOWN and not that the is no vessel.
    I created a dynamic action
    event= change
    select type = item
    item = P110_VESSEL_ID
    True ACtion #1 is the ALERT.
    I currently have no other logic, but cannot even get this to work.  Any thoughts.   I have also tried the SELECT TYPE = jQuery Selector = select[name='P110_VESSEL_ID'] but that does not work either (though I am not certain if the value should be P110_VESSEL_ID or the static name of VESSEL_ID).
    Any help is appreciated.
    ps.  the page is not submitted when the vessel is changed.  There is other data that needs to be entered both in this region and others and many validations run when submit, so the submit would not be an option.
    thanks again,
    Karen

    This should work.  Sometimes I've see where there is other javascript on the page that may have some errors and is causing the dynamic action code to not be executed.  Use your favorite browser script console to try and determine if this may be the case.

    P.S. Your jQuery selector can be: select#P110_VESSEL_ID

  • Dynamic action on File browse change event

    Hi Experts,
    apex version 4.1
    This is what i'm trying to do..
    i have a file browse control and a text field. when user selects a file, selected fiel's name (without file type extension) should be set to text field.
    I tried adding a dynamic action to file browse control's change event and within pl/sql Set Value logic i queried the wwv_flow_files and tried to return the file name it didn't work. i got no data found error. i assumed file is being inserted into wwv_flow_files when a page submission happens.
    In my second approach within the SetValue pl/sql logic i got the file browser control's (by directly accessing field, not by querying wwv_flow_files)value and did some string manipulation and tried to return only the file name. yet i got the same no data found error.
    Any idea how can i implement this ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I think PL/SQL approach will not work before you submit data to database.
    Have you think use $v function to get value from file browser?

  • Dynamic action - Cache server data

    APEX 4.2.2
    Is there a way to cache server side data in a global (page/document level) Javascript vector (bunch of key-value pairs) (associative array, array of objects or some such)? This way the data can be used by subsequent dynamic actions' Javascript code without querying the server over and over.
    I see that apex_util.json_from_sql is still undocumented after all these years. Are there any examples of using that API to do this sort of thing? Can someone please share?
    Thanks

    I took a shot at this and it seems to work well using Javascript global objects for data storage. Hope this helps someone.
    1. Page attributes - Javascript global variables var gData,gLookup={};2. On-demand application process Get_Emps as apex_util.json_from_sql('select empno,ename from emp');3. Page Load dynamic action to invoke the application process and cache the data var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$v('pFlowId'),'APPLICATION_PROCESS=Get_Emps',$v('pFlowStepId'));
    var retval=get.get();get=null;
    gData=apex.jQuery.parseJSON(retval);
    $.each(gData.row,function(i,obj){
       gLookup[obj.EMPNO]=obj.ENAME;
    });4. EMPNO page item - Standard OnChange dynamic action to SetValue of ENAME page item using the cached data - Javascript expression gLookup[$v(this.triggeringElement)]
    We document something when it is ready to be supported. This specific procedure isn't something we haven't invested in, and thus, per our discretion, have elected not to document or support it at this time.Fair enough.

  • Set value in tabular form field with dynamic action

    Hi Guys,
    I have a dummy field in a tabular form which I am trying to use to populate another field in the tabular form when it is changed.
    In the tabular form I have an ITEM_ID field. Each item_id has an ITEM_NAME which is the dummy field as it is not a field in the database table.
    When the user enters an item name, I would like something like a dynamic action to fire, populating the ITEM_ID.
    e.g User enters part no ABC into the dummy field. When they tab out, I want the value to the item_id field on the tabular form row to be populated based on a SQL query in a similar fashion to how it can be done with dynamic actions on text items on a form.
    I am using APEX v4.0.0
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

    Hello Chris,
    Why can't you use Select List Item on tabular form, which will display all item_names and return item_ids?
    If the list is huge and you need users to type & search, then you can use Pop-up LOV item.

  • Get infotype data in e-mail/sapscript - Dynamic action-

    Hello,
    we developed a dynamic action sending a mail if an employee leave the company.
    We can catch data in infotype 0000 and 0001 in the sapscript used in the mail, but we would like also fetch data from other infotypes.
    We tried to generate an ABAP code from an ad hoc query, but it was impossible to get the return tables in the sapscript.
    Are there other solutions to get infotype data in saps scripts?
    Kr,

    Hi ,
    you can follow the below solution .
    1. Create a custom report for the leaving/terminated employees by using the action in infotype 0000 with field massn, massg.
    2. you will get all the employees from table pa0000 who are laving between a date interval .
    3. by using the personnel numbers from pa0000 get other infotypes information.
    4. create a smartform/script for your requirement.
    5. using the program you can send the data to the employees.
    another way .
    if you know the name of the script you can create some variables for the other fields from other infotypes in that script and you can populate the variable values using perform in program command using a custom program in that script.
