Dynamic Approver Group

Hi all,
Is there a way to let the dynamic approver group to return more than one record?
for one record we return the person_id in the format 'PERSON_ID:'||PERSON_ID
Could we use 'PERSON_ID:'||PERSON_ID||',PERSON_ID:'||PERSON_ID for example to retrieve 2 person id's??
The query of the approver group is calling a function that check the process name and return all the people associated with a position or a job, I need to build dynamic approver groups to send notifications to a group of people so that anyone in that group can approve it and hence it moves on to the next approver group's people
any idea?!

I have tried doing your advice, the query return more than one record (3 in my example) and the voting method is first responder wins.
What happened when submitting the request is that the notification sent to the first person (the one returned in the first record) only and i have to wait for his approval or rejection
if he approves or reject the cycle stopped.
i need to send the notification to all employee that the query return and the approval from one of them is enough!
any idea?

With Dynamic approval First Responder wins does not work, We have to use Roles in HR Manager.

Dynamic Approver Group Will Not Return Multiple Approvers

We have created a dynamic approval group to return person_ids (stored in a lookup) for some of HR operations people. This will be called by an FYI rule.
The problem is that AME seems to fail if mulitple person_ids are returned by the dynamic query.
Is it even possible for a dynamic approval group to return multiple person_ids? If so what could I be missing?
P.S. I realize I can use a static approver group to meet the same requirement but the reason we choose a lookup was it made it easier for us to maintain. We can revert to a static group if there is no other solution.

We overcame the problem by splitting out each person_id into a different row in the lookup table.
Multiple approvers are now being returned.

More, if user is trying to use a more simple query like:
select distinct person_id from PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F where full_name = 'Mr.
Oliverking G' we are getting same error
Any idea, plse, would be gretaly apprciated.

Hi,
You need to prefix the value with a text string which indicates what kind of value you are returning.
E.g. if you are returning a user ID, prefix the value with 'user_id:'; if you are returning a person ID, then prefix it with 'person_id:'

AME - Nested Approver Groups

I am trying to setup a nested approver group. The setups I have done are as follows:
Create a dynamic approver group - A - There is a SQL attached to retrieve the members of this group
Create a second dynamic approval group B - There is a SQL attached to retrieve the members of this group as well.
Create a static approver group C and enter the Group members as Approver Type - Nested Group and Approver is Group A and Group B.
The transaction goes for approval to the the member of approver group A and dayanoes not go any further. It should also have gone to the members of
Approver Group B since they are nested and part of the group.
The transaction exists in hr_api_transactions and the notifications appear in wf_notifcations as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dynamic Distribution Group - Moderator approval fails

we use the above in our organization. we have some dynamic groups created. I have a moderator for a couple of groups. when a user sends an email to one of the group that has a moderator, the latter gets an email to either approve or reject the message. when
he/she clicks on the accept button they get the following error:

Please confirm if your Dynamic Distribution Group is created on-promise and the moderator is on the Office365 Exchange.
If the Dynamic Distribution Group and the moderator are in different Exchange servers: On-premise and Online, please open the Dynamic Distribution Group in EAC, then check
Senders inside and outside of my organization in delivery management to have a try.
If it doesn’t work, I suggest we can change a moderator who is in the same mailbox server with the Dynamic Distribution Group to check whether the issue persists.

After passing the comma separated approver list,I could see in BPEL instance. But assignment thinks it is single group at runtime. E.g
if comma separated groups are A,B. Assignment service thinks it is single group and complains saying A,B role not exist.
What I noticed that in static comma separated list, i could see individual elements added in source code
<participant name="Assignee1">
<resource isGroup="true" type="STATIC">A</resource>
<resource isGroup="true" type="STATIC">B</resource>
</participant>
But in dynamic approver list do I need to apply any xQuery or XSLT to iterate over list? Please advice

Human Workflow email notification to a distribution list when assigned to an approval group

Hi All,
is there a way to send the notification email to an email distribution list when a task is assigned to an approval group instead of sending individuals emails to each member?
As of now HW config is sending individual emails to each member of the approval group when the task is assigned to that approval group, for some approval groups (not all) they want the notification emails be sent to a distribution list, also we are using the actionable emails - so far it's working fine - the only thing is that the recipient of the actionable emails should be a dist list, is this even possible?

From your description, some users that are not the dynamic distribution group members receive the messages that are sent to the dynamic distribution groups. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
In your case, I recommend you use the following cmdlets to verify the members of this dynamic distribution group at first.
$MarketingGroup = Get-DynamicDistributionGroup "Marketing Group"
Get-Recipient -RecipientPreviewFilter $MarketingGroup.RecipientFilter -OrganizationalUnit $MarketingGroup.OrganizationalUnit

Correct, some users that should and are filtered out from the DDL are receiving the emails.
I set the variable and ran the command you provided and got consistent results to the "filter preview" in EMC, the particular user that is filtered out in both membership preview method is still receiving these emails!

Dynamic Distribution Group set conditions by importing text file?

Exchange 2010 SP2.
I created a dynamic distribution group via the EMC. We have populated AD with ExtenstionAttribute1 and ExtensionAttribute2. I have created the ddg with custom attribute1 value = employee. What I need to do now is populate custom attribute
2 = 00-0001, 00-0002, and so on. There are about 300 of these numbers I need to add. I have them in a text file or csv file. Instead of adding them one by one in the EMC, is there a way to import them via powershell to the existing ddg?
The ddg is called All Management Employees.

If they go from 00-0001 to 00-0300, you could just add them as follows:
Set-DynamicDistributionGroup <group name> -RecipientFilter "(CustomAttribute1 -eq 'employee') -and (CustomAttribute2 -like '00-0*')"
However, if you have additional items like this (such as 00-0350, etc), you may need to use the following:
Set-DynamicDistributionGroup <group name> -RecipientFilter "(CustomAttribute1 -eq 'employee') -and ((CustomAttribute2 -like '00-00*') -or (CustomAttribute2 -like '00-01*') -or (CustomAttribute2 -like '00-02*') -or (CustomAttribute2 -eq '00-00300')"
Now, if your numbering isn't sequential and it can't be, you would need to add them individually - which may make your search filter unusable, in which case, you may need to create several dynamic groups and add them to a parent group.

In human task, dynamically assign group doesn't work

Oracle SOA 11.1.1.4
My bpel process invokes a human task.
On the human task Assignment tab, I assigned 3 users (by name), 1 group (by expression).
The group is configured in LDAP
When I tested the bpel process, I entered the group and other data required.
From the worklist app, I see the task listed. It is assigned to the 3 users, but not the dynamically passed-in group.
From the Audit trail, I saw all data I entered (include the group). Everything seems correct, but I still can’t make the dynamically-pass-group work.
If I assign the group by name in human task, it works fine.
The problem is: dynamically assign group doesn't work.
Please kindly advice.

Yes, it is possible assign a group as participant of some human task, passing the group name as parameter.
I have tested just now.
It works pretty well in SOA 11.1.1.4 (BPEL or BPM).
Make sure add a data parameter in your human task definition and pass a valid group name to it.
At the Assignment tab, in the participants' list, add a group, data type by expression, and set the value to the right xpath expression to the corresponding parameter.
For example: /task:task/task:payload/task:group
If it is not working look the SOA log files, probably you'll find some information about the error there. Maybe there is some problem with your jazn.com configuration.
You can also test if there is something wrong related to the group name, trying to transfer some task to the same group by the worklist.

PO Approval Group Problem

Hi Experts/Gurus,
We have Oracle EBS 11i (11.5.10.2) .
Preparer is created Purchase Requisition. He cannot approve the PR, can only forward the PR .
After forwarding PR to his superior say 'A' . He (User 'A') can review and change the PR if required.
User 'A' has not PR approval rights. PR should be forwarded to next approver say 'B' , in hierarchy even though he (User 'A') press the APPROVE button from
Notification summary.
At last, approver 'B' has PR approval rights . He only can approve the PR .
At our organization, PR is created with value 0 (Zero) and buyer is input the rate at the time of PO creation .
How I can achieve this ?

Hi Sanjay,
Hoping you are not using the position hierarchy.
One way to achieve this is by using AME and put in place a rule where approval is required from two supervisors (Exception:- when the PR is raised by a subordinate just below the top employee).
Another way to achive this is by excluding all the accounts from the job of approver 'A' in approval group (Not suggestible as maintaining jobs of employees in this scenario will be messy)

After this, the process instance should finish, but, it continues the approval flow. Is that correct? I think that if the first participant reject the task, the approval flow should finish, isn't it?

Dynamic Distribution Group via csv file and Recipient Filter

I am trying to create powershell command that will read a CSV file for "Name" and "Dept" and create a Dynamic Distribution Group based on the following Recipient Filter.

I keep getting an error that "Missing closing '}" in statement block Char:314. I added a "}" at the end of the command but then the command fails to read the .csv file.
