Dynamic Approvers in AME -HRMS

Gurus,
I have a requirement concerned with iRecruitment:-
When ever a Vacancy is created via iRecruitment, it should go for approval to two people.(both these persons need not be in hierarchy)
iRecruitment follows a Supervisor based hierarchy for approvals because of which there is a need to customize the AME.
According to seeded functionality in iRec* Once the vacancy is created by default it will go to the Supervisor of the person who has creared*
Requirement The direct supervisor should not come and in place a Manager of that particular unit (say A) should be the approver, Once the unit manager approves it , the next line of approval is Organizational Manager .
My Solution Approach :-
I am creating 3 Approver Groups
1st for retrieving the unit manager's name dynamically when ever a vacancy is created in that unit.
2nd for retrieving the Organization's managers name dynamically when an approval request is sent to him/her.
3rd approver group where I want to call these two (1st & 2nd ) approver groups via a function.
Once this is done , I want to add this 3rd approver group in the rule which is used for my AME requirement.
Is this approach correct . If yes, please let me know how to dynamically retrieve manger' name(all 3 steps explained above)
Regards,
Novice

hi,
you have to use persons defined in hrms in your dynamic query of approver group. and more importantly you can test this in AME by giving a proper trannsaction id.

  • SPD List serial WorkFlow attach Dynamic approvers, Document Sets attached to List

    SPD Workflow:
    System : SharePoint 2013
     1. Approver's should be fetched from a people picker item of another List based on condition (Filter with department)
     2. Workflow should be serial & approvers should be dynamic from above list item people picker based on department condition
     3. As it is a List workflow i.e., Custom List is associated to Workflow but I need to upload a document set as a List item
     4. When ever user creates a New List Item, Initiation page should allow him to attach multiple documents, while uploading first document into list from Intiation page, it should create a unique document set with a sequence number and other documents
should be added in the same document set & that document set should be attached to list item.
    5. Action from Email should reflect the workflow approval.
/*below point is not Important to achieve in SPD*/
    6. I would like to create a separate List or New List after 1000 document sets are uploaded to workflow list & workflow should be associated automatically when a New List is created
*I know how to achieve It from server or client side coding..
suggest optimized way to achieve above points in SPD 2013 & OOB only?

    Hi,
I had tested again with multi workflows which are assigned to three users, they all worked well.
At first, the workflow would send an email to the first approver, when the first approver approved; then send an email to the second approver, when the second approver approved; then send an email to the third approver.
When the third approver approved, the workflow would completed, then the assigner who started the workflow would receive an email that the workflow has been completed.
You can create a simple workflow to check whether it works.
Such as you can just only use the “Start Approval Process” one action to check whether it works.
Did the issue occur in other lists or libraries?
You can create a new list or library, then create an approval workflow to check whether it works.

  • Dynamic approvers (multiple in serial) working, task notifications sending to all, not serially

I have create a modified version of the SPD 2010 Approval workflow using dynamically generated approver(s).  It is an approval of a new document and depending on some items in the form, it is sent to a sample of up to 8 approvers (could be only
1, could be as many as 8).  This is working - it is assigning the task, serially, and processing the approval/rejections.  The problem I am having is the email notifications are being sent to
all approvers at each serial stage.  So, for example, if there are 3 approvers john, sally and jim (the approvers 'string' is sent as john;sally;jim) then the first task is assigned to john, and and an email is sent to john, sally and
jim, (when I only want it sent to john).  When john approves, a task is assigned to sally, and a second email is sent notifying sally of the task, but it is also sent to all
three approvers.  I assumed the task noticiation emails were sent from some trigger within the task list, but it appears it is sent from this worklow - which is fine, but it doesnt seem to follow the same serial process as the tasks do.
I can see ways to do all this by writing a totally custom workflow but I would really like to solve this last item as it is the only thing not working the way I need it to.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • AME CS6 rendering with AE and Pr takes too long

    Hi Guys,
Need some help here. i have rendered a 30 secs mp4 video with 1920 x 1080 HD format 25 frames w/o scripting in AME for 4 hours!
Why does it take too long? I have rendered a 2 minute video with same format w/ scripting but only spare less than 30 minutes for rendering.
Im using After Effects and Premium Pro both CS6 and using Dynamic Link in AME.
What seems to be wrong in my current settings?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

This may be a waste of time, but it won't take a minute and is something you should always do whenever things go strangely wrong  ............ trash the preferences, assuming you haven't done it already.
Many weird things happen as a result of corrupt preferences which can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP X stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.
    http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
    1. Ensure that only  FCP X  is selected.
    2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.
There is absolutely no danger in trashing preferences and you can do it as often as you like.
The preferences are kept separately from FCP X and if there aren't any when FCP X opens it automatically creates new ones  .  .  .  instantly.

  • How to create publishing custom approval workflow will assign approvers.

    Hi All,
I am new in sharepoint development.
I have a page library where we add artical page with different department
I want to create publishing custom approval workflow will assign approvers based on what department is selected for display.  The departments pull from the Other list.  On that list each department is assigned an approval group. That approval
group is what should be used for approving the item.
need send to mail with based on selected department approval group
    thanks in advance.

Ok, what you're asking for is something that people do all the time, but you say you are new to sharepoint development... So...
Here's how you would do it in SPD:
    http://blog.symprogress.com/2011/03/sharepoint-2010-dynamic-approvers-for-oob-approval-workflow/
and here's how you can do it in visual studio:
    http://www.mpspartners.com/2011/10/SharePoint2010ApprovalWorkflowDynamicApprovers/
Either way should work, it just depends on your comfort level inside the dev environment.

  • Parallel Approvals in AME

    Hi All,
I have a question from my fellow colleague which I am not being able to respond to clearly. Hope someone can help me.
The question is about the usage of Parallel Approvals.
Can Parallel Approvals work ONLY when there is an approval group with serial also defined ?
Or do they work when Approvals are static ? Or with Single/Multiple Approval Groups ?

  • Dynamic Approver List  + BPEL 10.1.3.3

    Hi,
May I know how to write the Xpath(List of Approvers are passed as BPEL variable) for Defining the Dynamic Approvers Assignee list in human task assignment editor?
    Any sample example?
    Thanks

    Hi,
After passing the comma separated approver list,I could see in BPEL instance. But assignment thinks it is single group at runtime. E.g
if comma separated groups are A,B. Assignment service thinks it is single group and complains saying A,B role not exist.
What I noticed that in static comma separated list, i could see individual elements added in source code
    <participant name="Assignee1">
    <resource isGroup="true" type="STATIC">A</resource>
    <resource isGroup="true" type="STATIC">B</resource>
    </participant>
But in dynamic approver list do I need to apply any xQuery or XSLT to iterate over list? Please advice
    Thanks

  • Problem installing ONLY Encore CS6 alongside CC

With the new 2014 CC apps alongside the original CC apps, I decided I finally wanted to purge my CS6 collection.  However, I still want and use Encore from time to time.
I used first the "uninstall" option to remove ALL of my CS6 apps - including Encore.  I even used the Cleaner tool to further "clean up" CS6.  All seemed well.
I then followed these instruction precisely to install Encore, which involves installing the "previous version" of Premiere Pro CS6 through the CC desktop app, and then using "uninstall" to remove only Premiere Pro CS6.  http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/kb/encore-cs6-installed-cc.html
Everything seemed perfect.  I had only Encore CS6 appearing in my Application folder (Mac).  However, in the CC desktop app drop down window (after logging out and then back in), there was a listing for Premiere Pro CS6 and a big blue button saying "update".  "What's this" revealed bundled updates for not only Encore, but CS6 Bridge, Media Encoder and Extension Manager.
So - my choice, stare at an unresolved "Premiere Pro CS6" update for the rest of time, or hit the button.  I hit the button, and got CS6 Media Encoder, Extension Manager and Bridge reinstalled back on my computer.  Right back where I started.
The instructions at the link above are INCOMPLETE.  What do I do to resolve this problem?  I just want Encore - and not the gigabytes of CS6 programs I no longer need.
    Thank you.

I do not know the real answer, which is can you uninstall ALL CS6 except for Encore.
My guess is that you must live with the "update" flag staring at you. The update did NOT put Premiere back in, so I assume that those 3 programs are considered "essentials" for the CS6 family. Even though we don't know how, they may be essential for some part of Encore's functioning. My guess is that the PR CS6 install put them in, the uninstall does not remove them unless you remove everything, and that they had updates.
You may have needed the update to get Encore to 6.0.1 (the only Mac update for Encore CS6). Or you may be able to manually update with an update file. Adobe - Encore : For Macintosh : Encore CS6 update
In any event, these are small programs. Well, hm, 3/4 of a gig. You should really transcode assets to DVD/BD spec before bringing into Encore, so it doesn't matter, but for some projects I will use the dynamic link with AME to transcode ahead of the build. Slight advantage to keeping it.
But for your interests, my bottom line is to live with the "update button."

  • Is there anyone out there happy with Media Encoder?

After almost year of working with CS4 under both XP 32 bit and now Windows 7 64 bit, I am delighted with Photoshop and After Effects, tolerant of the defects in Premiere, and absolutely insanely angry about Adobe Media Encoder.  I have spent a great deal of time following other people's posts and recommended "fixes."  None have made the slightest difference in the ponderous performance and frequent crashing, especially when exporting AC3 files through Surcode.
I have tested this setup with no greater happiness on clean installs with NOTHING else on the computer but CS4 with all updates.  These systems have all significantly exceeded Adobe's requirements for the software.
I have used in that time three different motherboards.  I have worked with Premiere for years, literally since version 3.  A have loads of experience optimizing computers for video.  I also have lots of experience with other editing systems, having done in-depth reviews of NLEs for DV Magazine for a number of years.  This is not to say that I have not missed something, but the consistent complaints I see reveal a critical lack of attention to the broken bits of this system.
I see lots of posts on this and other forums about the poor performance of AME.  I see very few where anyone is happy with the software.
My current 2-hour project which loads into Premiere in under a minute can take 20 or 30 minutes to load in AME.  Even when exporting only audio, AME appears to launch PPheadless and render all video frames before getting to the audio, and I have repeated issues with the program locking up when exporting more than 20-25 minutes of audio.
The decision to remove all direct exporting ability from Premiere and use the often broken Dynamic Link to AME was a gross mistake which in my opinion takes Premiere off the table for any professional shop.  I do not do work for hire, but I cannot imagine explaining to a client who is paying by the hour why we have to sit and wait for fifteen or twenty minutes for AME to load the project that was already loaded in PP to just export a brief section.  The architectural decision might be OK if all the bits that were involved were bulletproof and reliable, but the ImportProcessServer.exe and other dynamic link bits are clearly the source of problems for many people.
So here's my question: is there ANY professional end user out there that is happy with the current incarnation of AME and the decision to remove direct export ability from PP?

What format(s) do you work in?  What length of project?  Do you output to AC3?  I have no problems with AME for short projects or to output the same size/format -- for instance, I can usually output full HD for Blu-Ray but experience lots of crashes if scaling down to SD for DVD.  The crashes also occur above certain lengths, usually 20 min +.  With audio, I can output 5.1 uncompressed WAV in the same format (for instance, 16 bit) but if I try to output 24 bit (which AME is supposed to be able to do) I get "Encoding Failed - Unknown error."  In fact the error log is ALL that very helpful message, always when transcoding to another format/bit depth/size.  When outputting 5.1 to AC3, AME freezes up and fails at around 20 minutes.
Our systems are very silimar -- the current system is i7 proc with 6gb ddr3 ram on a gygabite GA-EX58-UD3R.
A have not had any huge issues really with AME for short videos or output to FLV for web.
But the workflow I use is something that CS4 is SUPPOSED to be able to do.  And the very unusual issue is that I have seen posts about the same type of errors (with ImportProcessServer etc) on Macs as well.

  • Live text template render issue when using Media Encoder?

I'm running into flash frames with Media Encoder exports of Premiere sequences using the live text templates.
Unfortunately, AME doesn't flag it as an error, so the render completes without any issues in the render log and the only way to find it is to watch the rendered file.
I have tried different combinations of having After Effects open or closed, with the live text template comp open or closed; I can't consistently reproduce the problem with any certainty and so am having trouble pinpointing the source.
My only hypotheses so far are that:
The glitches seem to be happening in the dynamic link between AME and PP, not AE and PP. The live text will pop back to the duplicated comp's text for one frame. Video playing simultaneously doesn't pop.
In other words, the AE text template said: "name here". In PP it was edited to say "John Doe", then that comp was duplicated and edited to say "Bob Smith". Everything looks fine in PP. There are no keys on the source text in AE (I have noticed that if there are keys on the source text in AE, the text will pop back to the original AE text at that key in PP).
When rendered out of AME, halfway through Bob Smith's title, it will read "John Doe" for a single frame, then pop back to being Bob.
I've only had this happen so far with AME renders. The renders out of PP haven't given me any issues so far.
It might happen more frequently on longer segments? If a title is up for 45 sec instead of 10 sec, it may be more likely to pop.
The issue seems to occur more often in batch renders out of AME (happened to 3 of 5 files rendered in a batch, AME 2014.1) and/or with unrelated AE comps open (on a single render from AME 2014.2)
Again, it doesn't happen every time or to the same title, or in the same spot. Files are being rendered to ProRes 422 HQ. Unchecked "Use Previews" in AME.
Would be nice to get to the bottom of what's happening so I can recommend something to the editors when I hand off these live text templates to them.
I realize that the live text is a new feature as of 2014.1, but haven't found anyone else talking about this. Would love if this was a very simple fix that I'm missing.
I was able to reproduce the error on 2 different machines, with similar specs:
    Premiere CC 2014.1 and 2014.2
Media Encoder CC 2014.1 and 2014.2
    Mac tower 2010

  • Changing "Check Shopping Cart" screen and Completion workflow

    Hi,
Below i describe a) the current process, b) the required changes, and c) my questions.
Though it is also about workflows i still thought this was the best place to post the thread.
    Current process:
In the process "free text order" i choose Go Shopping >> Shop >> Describe Requirement. I fill in details and complete the next steps.
Now the Completion workflow (WS14000044) has started.
So if I now look on my homepage in SRM i have an approval item which reads:
       Approval
You can approve or reject shopping carts and read your e-mails relating to the procurement transaction
       You have
       -  1 Workflow Entries in Inbox
       -  0 Unread Documents in Inbox
So i open the list and find one item: Complete shopping cart of mr X.. Now i click on the item and it takes me to "Check Shopping Cart"
At the bottom of the screen is one button: "Change"
    Requirements:
    1)  add two buttons to this screen. One button is "Reject", to reject the shoppping cart directly. The second button "Mail Requester" to send the shopping cart back to the requester and also sends a mail via outlook to inform the requester that this has happened and requesting more information.
    2)  these buttons should then influence the behaviour of the Completion Workflow. In this workflow (WS14000044) the task Completion (TS14007947) currently has one activated outcome. From my two buttons i would need two more outcomes that allow me to model the other actions that i need i.e. the rejection outcome and the back-to-requester/send-mail outcome.
    Questions:
    1)  is it allowed/possible to add the buttons to the existing screens. Or do i need to create a custom screen and call that instead of the standard screen?
    2)  is it allowed/possible to modify the completion workflow as described? Or do i need to copy and then modify?
    3)  How could i make the buttons to interact with the workflow? The only thing i can think of is to create a Z-bus object of the object Form and to modify so that it show my expected outcomes.
    4)  any helpful links to sdn posts of blogs or otherwise on how to go about to create the necessary changes.
    Thx for your input
    Kind regards
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
Again, before technical solutioning, we need to step back and understand the business process and functions of each role (e.g., Buyer, Financial Approver) in the completion and approval workflow.
Here's my understanding of the as-is (correct me if I am wrong). You are using One-Step Spending Limit WF (10000276) for financial approval. This is done by a Financial Approver (I am guessing, the line manager). The Buyer is not part of the process. Now, you want to introduce free-text requisitioning, and, consequently, you want to introduce the Buyer role into the workflow process - to complete the free-text lines (e.g. with vendor, price).
Based on above scenario, I believe your initial solution was not incorrect - introduce Completion WF (14000044) for the completion task, while keeping 10000276 for financial approval.
Now the business wants the Buyer to play a more active role in the process. They want to be able to Reject (the whole cart?) and Inquire (send the cart back to requester with questions). In my mind, it may still be possible to explore keeping the original design with Completion WF without modifying it, and still achieve the business needs. You can explore different ways of doing that: delete SC items instead of Rejecting, add Approval Comments to inquire, etc.
Alternatively, you can replace all your workflows with one - WS14000133 "Spending limit, n-step,
dynamic approvers (BAdI)". Here, you can determine your approvers flexibly via a BAdI implementation. For example:
    1. If Total Amount =< Spending Limit of Purchaser, then no approval agents - auto-approve SC.
    2. If Total Amount > Spending Limit of Purchaser AND there're no free-text lines, then determine Financial Approver.
    3. If Total Amount > Spending Limit of Purchaser AND there're incomplete free-text lines, then determine Buyer; once free-text lines completed - then Financial Approver.
WS14000133 also has back-and-forth functionality which you can use for the inquiries. WS14000133 provides the most flexibilty, but it also involves more effort to implement. Read up on WS14000133 at help.sap.com.
Bottom line - I would focus on evaluating these two standard options: 14000044 with 10000276, or 14000133. You may need to do some pros/cons, cost/benefit analysis. But I see no need to modify or copy SAP templates in your case.
    Cheers,
    Serguei

  • Batch replacing document responsible or approver when employee quits

We have lots of documents where we manually assign approvers or document owners (for example in a contract library). I need a solution to be able to change these associations whenever someone quits. The solution should be used by library administrators
(end users) and not IT so simply running a Powershell script wont suffice.
The libraries are also version controlled and have content approval. The solution should be able to do the name changes without triggering new approval processes.
    Any good ideas?
    Henning

Did you try creating a SharePoint group and assign the group as approver in the workflow? So that you just need to modify the group member in case you want to change the approver from the workflow. You could have the group in the site collection.
Also refer to other options from the following post, hope this helps

  • PP 2014.1 - Broken link to Media Encoder

Using a project created under PP 2014, I have been able to change the Lumetri via Dynamic Link to Speed grade, but I cannot Export the Sequence to Media Encoder.
Process used is as under previous version of PP:
    Select sequence
Go File - Export - Media - select existing export format for DVD
    Queue
AME opens but the file does not show.
    PP is Not Responding
So End Task and restart same project in PP and this time use Export instead of Queue and it works.
Dynamic Link to AME is now broken!
Now I have to wait unable to use PP while each sequence is exported.
Is there a fix for this new problem?

Nothing new under the sun. Every release of an update requires several months of bug fixes before it becomes somewhat stable.
There is a reason why many choose not to update at the earliest moment, but wait 6 months or longer for the first bugs to be resolved.
This is especially true with CC, now that Adobe appears to have moved the beta-testing phase to the end-user, meaning you and other early adapters have been promoted to 'guinea pig', whether you like it or not.
