Dynamic Change event getting error with cascading LOV's

Hi all,
In my application (v4.0.0), I have two sets of cascading drop-down select lists, these each make up a date (year, month, day) plus a time value (not cascading).
I also have a dynamic action that gets the hours difference between the two dates set above. This fires on the change event.
When I change, say the month drop-down, the day list is refreshed. But before it is refreshed, it looks to be emptied and the change event fires. I then get an error from the dynamic action because the day value passed to the query is empty (confirmed when looking at POST data).
Can anyone think of a workaround idea for this? e.g. a way to set the dynamic action to conditional?

Thanks for the tip, I have tried this and it has helped, although not solved the problem. I was originally getting two errors appear ("AJAX call returned server error ORA-01843: not a valid month for Set Value.") and this has removed one of them...
When looking in Firebug, it seems to me that although the dynamic actions (cascading update + set value) are running one before the other, the values aren't updated in order. e.g. the cascading update is not applied before the set value action is run.
Could this be a bug with dynamic actions?

For running SharePoint Designer 2013, you need to install Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework or higher.
Please uninstall the Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework, and install it again. After that, reboot your machine.

Oh, you just had to go there ;) Popup LOVs are a bit more difficult because the values are not automatically brought back to the page for you. I've already worked out how this could be implemented in my head - but writing it up, of course, is more of an effort. I've added it to my list of blog articles to write on. Since it's not a requirement right now, I'll cover another topic first and come back to that one afterward.

Resetting a Form with Cascading LOVs (Apex 4)

A standard reset button cannot reset cascading LOVs properly. Let's assume we have a parent LOV and a child LOV. When one changes the selection in the child LOV, reset can undo this. But when he changes the selection in the parent LOV, reset will undo only the parent LOV but not the child LOV. The child LOV remains unchanged (however the selection is lost) and therefore shows a list that does not correspond to the entry now shown in the parent LOV.
Has anybody found a solution for this, a reset action that can reset cascading LOVs completely and properly?

i didn't try this myself but maybe you succeed with triggering the onchange-event of your parent-select-list (this should cause the child select-list to be refreshed).
Or you could try if a form region has a apex "refresh" event (i know that refresh works on reports).

Displaying dynamically changing image: a problem with JLabel.

Hello! I use NetBeans 5.5 and I develop my GUI with Matisse. I'm rather a beginner in developing GUIs with this editor...
I'd like to display a dynamically changing image. The idea is: GUI shows the image, that is modified as some computations run in a different thread. App will be run on a single machine.
I'm trying to display the image as a label's icon. The problem is that my app's frame can be resized - and when it is, the label also resizes. When the label is resized, the image should also be resized - the image should always be of the same size as the label. The problem? I noticed, that it works only when I make my app's bigger. When I try to lower its dimensions, the label's dimensions remain the same. Why the label don't make its size smaller?
My code works as follows: when app's main frame is resize, the panel (the one, that the label is placed in) is also resized. And, since the label is in the panel, it (should) also be resized. So I wrote all the resize-events handlers (therefore I know that the resize event is sent when my app's frame is resized, and when the panel is resized - but the label is resized only when it grows bigger). In this methods I modify the image displayed in the label (I resize the image).
Or, perhaps, there is some other way to show a (dynamically changing) image with Swing... I chose JLabel, because I didn't want to write my own JComponent. JLabel can display image and that is all I need. The problem is: when the label grows bigger, I create a new, bigger image (icon). Why my label don't get smaller (the resize event isn't even sent)?

There is no component that dynamically resizes an image. You need to create your own. Something like this:

Import of credit card data(tcode PRCC) getting error with currency

Hi Everyone,
Here is one query regarding Credit Card Clearing in Travel Management.
We were initially using KR files for uploading SAP specific credit card Transactional data to employee buffer and it contained data for only US employees with currency as US. Now we are migrating to use GL1025 files with employees from multiple countries and multiple currency. But the Service Provider (American Express) is sending transactional details with billed currency as USD for all employees(even for employees from other country). On processing the file in PRCC we are getting the below error for non US employees.
Do we have any configurations or something that needs to be maintained inorder to allow this?

Hi All,
For my above requirement, I made two configuration changes and the transaction details are getting loaded with out any error.
1) Changed the 'Settlement of foreign currency receipts" to 'hard currency' for the trip provision variant in global settings under control parameters for Travel expenses.
2) Maintained hard currency as USD for the other country(non US) in country settings. non US employee receipts got loaded in buffer in currency USD as required.
With this configuration change, even the posting document for all foreign currency receipts including AMEX receipts were created in USD.But our requirement was to make payment for all AMEX receipts in USD and other foreign currency receipts in the employee local currency.
So we just tried with the third option for configuration 1. Changed the 'Settlement of foreign currency receipts" to 'choose Between Trip currency and Hard currency per receipt'.
Now with this, foriegn currency receipts of the employee posting document getting created in employee local currency and AMEX receipts in USD. But we are confused how the currency for posting document is being selected with this option 3. Could anyone help us please??

From what I can tell I have several links and the end of my text flow they are formatted like this "2.nf.5" they reference to a code. If I add text to so that one of them kicks down to then next line the error goes away. also if I change the textAlign to justify it goes away as well. it looks like it has to do with the word wrap. If you have any suggestions or help that would be great thanks.

Getting Error with date parameter field -"Invalid DATE"

I created a report with 9.2 version. And i created 2 date parameter fields in it. And within crystal reports it works fine.
But If, I call from the VS2005 crystalreport.net(report document) SDK , i am getting error as Invalid Date" enter a Date Value". Actually it is a dtp control. how can i modify it.

There's not enough details to get a good understanding of your scenario, but it sounds like you're using some kind of date control to retrieve the date value and pass it to the report's parameter field at runtime. If this is correct, it sounds like the format of the date value from the control may not be what the report is expecting. To debug, I would first use hardcoded values when you set the report parameter fields to see what works. Then compare that to what the return value is from the control to see if they match. I suspect the formats differ. I did a quick search on the BOBJ kbase and found a couple of articles that may help you. Af:query component with cascading Lov's

Hi All,
I have Cascading LOV's model setup in Business Components and they work fine in a form or table
but they are not working inside af:query component as there is no autoSubmit attribute on the query component itself
can someone help me to resolve this

I have found a way
using bindings attribute of the query component it was able to go to backing bean on any LOV change in there we need to manually refresh the bindings then it works

Getting error with Oracle10g Express using SQLPlus?

I just installed Oracle10g Express on Linux FC6.
I get errors in Java and SQLPlus when trying to connect to the database, or start it.
In SQLPlus as "sysdba" when I type "startup" I get this error...
ORA-27100: shared memory realm already exists
And in Java or SQLPlus when I try to connect as a valid user I get this error...
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment
Please help me.

Getting error with selectSingleNode in XML DOM

I have some pages that utilitize the following in XML DOM:
loadXML
selectSingleNode
getElementsByTagName
I am using JavaScript. I am getting "undefined" errors. Anyone know the proper syntax/capitalization for these methods when using Safari. I had a similiar error with IE 7.0 and posting via an xmlHTTPPost. The problem there was capitalization of one of the methods.

Cannot add/ change user account - error with Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service

A few days ago my computer went wierd.
I cannot update windows because I get no results when I use "Windows Search"
My metro UI doesnt work properly. I cannot use it.
Somebody said that it could be that my User Account could be corrupted.
I tried to create I new one, but I could do the first steps, because the computer doesnt respond when I click "Change my account" in controlpanel.

Have you made any modifications to the machine before the issue?
First of all ,I would suggest you to update the machine manually.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\Check for updates.
I also suggest you to perform a full scan with the antivirus software to eliminate the virus issue considering this issue is a little wierd. We can do this in safe mode to improve the scanning quality.
Run "services.msc" to check the status of "User Profiles Service" and ensure it is running.
Run "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" or "sfc /scannow" to check the health of the whole system files.
Considering this issue occurred recently, we can perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous point.

This is so very, very wrong! A column is an attribute of an entity. The idea that you are so screwed up that you have no idea if you want
the shoe size, the phone number or something else at run time of this entity.
In Software Engineering we have a principle called cohesion that says a model should do one and only one task, have one and only one entry point, and one and only one exit point.

Do you know that SQL is a declarative language? This family of languages does not use local variables!
Now think about “month_val” and what it means. A month is a temporal unit of measurement, so this is as silly as saying “liter_val” in your code. Why did you use “sp_” on a procedure? It has special meaning in T-SQL.
Think about how silly this is:
SET @month_val = 'Month' + CAST(@month_nbr AS VARCHAR(2));
We do not do display formatting in a query. This is a violation of at the tiered architecture principle. We have a presentation layer. But more than that, the INTERVAL temporal data type is a {year-month} and never just a month. This is fundamental.
We need to see the DDL so we can re-write this mess. Want to fix it or not?

Getting error while selecting LOV value

I am getting the below error in R12 apps while selecting the lov value from list (But it is working properly in 11i apps and loacal jdeveloper.)
Error: Stale Data
The requested page contains stale data. This error could have been caused through the use of the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
Cause:
The view object ProjectInformationAM.EmployeeLOVVO1 contained no record. The displayed records may have been deleted, or the current record for the view object may not have been properly initialized.
To proceed, please select the Home link at the top of the application page to return to the main menu. Then, access this page again using the application's navigation controls (menu, links, and so on) instead of using the browser's navigation controls like Back and Forward.
The lov query is select employee_number,full_name from per_all_people_f
I have tried both internal and external lov but both cases it is showing the error in R12
I have used below code in PR of create page, still no use

I had a similar issue just now, and we fixed it in this way. But the case is probably different compared to your situation.
Situation:
- custom inquiry page
- case: manual search, so not results based or Auto Customization Criteria
- multiple search criteria fields
- separate AM for all the LOV fields
- each LOV has its own VO
- Results table on same page, but with its own VO
- each search criteria field has Lov mapping to the corresponding external Lov region
Issue: when selecting a value via the Lov and coming back into the search page, I received the stale data error.
searched lots of places and finally figured out what was wrong in my case.
Each search field had its BC4J properties set to the VO of the results table. And since we wanted to make a manual search thing, this is not good.
Removing the View Instance value and the View Attribute value in the properties of the search fields resolved the error.
Hoperfully this can help other beginners, like me, in finding a solution for the same mistakes... :)

I've not been given any further info at this stage so I decided to delve into her event logs. Doing so uncovered a number of different InDesign errors, not of which seem to turn up especially relevent or helpful information when researched using Google.

which has occured 7 times within the last hour or so. And

Dreamweaver, so different, but earlier in the week:

Last week:

Not sure if these are connected to her Creative Suite applications crashing, but they certainly don't look overly encouraging. She's running CS4 Design Standard, on a Dell XPS 420 with 3GB RAM and 32bit Vista Business OS.
Any help appreciated as she's had to restart 3 or 4 times today, loosing work each time.

Peter, that's a good point, I'll get her to run an update. In the past we have been sceptical of updates since this seemed to cause more problems when the software was running fine, but I guess we have little choice here. Fingers crossed!
@VectorIsBetter09 that's an interesting point. We do have somebody running Windows 7 64bit with the same applications installed (fresh install of CS4 rather than an upgrade to it from CS3) and I believe that's not had any issues. However, it does seem odd that the PC has been running with this software for well over a year/18 months with very few problems.
