Dynamic default date filter in Query Panel

I have a report in which I want to always filter data up until the previous Saturday based on a certain date field. e.g. if date today is 2nd July then the report can have data up to 28th June only and nothing after that.
Is there a way I can set something up like this in the Query panel itself? If not, is there an alternate method?

Vivek,
Create an object at universe level with the following syntax
[Last_Saturday] = next_day(sysdate,'SUNDAY')-1
Now create a prompt in query filter on Date like [Date] --- lessthan or equal to --- [Last_Saturday]
or
In Web I, create a variable
Last_Saturday = RelativeDate(LastDayOfWeek(CurrentDate());-1).
Use this Variable in block instead of original Date object.

    We are still trying to get this filter to work. Can anybody give us an example of how it should look on the sensor?
    The sensor filter that we would like to create should “exclude” any source IP, any source port to specific destination hosts on all destination ports (icmp has none) from capturing events and storing them in the event store on the sensor.
    This is the filter that we have so far on the sensor. What’s the problem with it?

  • Changing Date Format in query panel default calender

    Hi All,
    when I drag the date into the Query Filter Panel in Webi and use the between operator (or any operator) the format of the date shows up as DD/MM/YYYY as default . But we want the format should show up as DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MM:SS
    As far as we know, there is no preference setting available in WebI. Could you please guide us how can we change the format?
    thx

    Hi,
    Are you using a date object or a string object for date.
    If you are using a date object then you would have the option of calendar selection when using between where you would be able to see your desired format.
    I think if this does not resolve ur issue then either by changing regional settings or by changing the User setting (i.e. if you are using a single signon for ur Database (maybe SAP system) and ur BO WebI reports then the user id settings would directly apply here and you should be able to acheive mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss format.)
    I hope this helps.

  • Date & Time in Query Panel.

    Dear All,
    I have created a named criteria for View Object and used it for creating query panel. The problem is that it contains Date field i.e From-Date and To-Date.
    Both are Bind Variables the search is executing properly but i want the search to happen on Date as well as Time(hr and min) by default it is creating Date Field in search panel to perform search with date only.
    So how can solve this problem.
    -Thanks.

    Go to the VO where you defined the view criteria and the bind variable, select and edit the bind variable (the pencil icon on the right), select the 'Control Hints' tab, in the drop down box of 'Format Type' select 'Simple Date' and for 'Format' type 'yyyY-MM-dd hh:mm:ss'.
    Recompile the model project and run the app again. In the query panel the date input should show the time as well now.

    Hi  Suraj,
      Create a top layer over this DSO say a cube and do full load.
    In the transformation , please do like this.
    Sort ur dso date by document calday descending time descending.
    Delete adjacent duplicates comparing document.
    And that ur desired output.I am not sure hwo to achieve this direclty at report level.

  • How to match time alone (without date) in a query

    Hi, I have a date colum named timeprop, where a time value has been inserted through:
    DateFormat.getTimeInstance(DateFormat.MEDIUM, "de_DE").parse("11:12:13")
    In SQL developer I can check the inserted value as:
    select timeprop from version_table where timeprop is not null;
    getting:
    TIMEPROP
    01.01.1900 11:12:13
    so I guess Oracle added a default date as 1.01.1900. Ok.
    But if I run:
    select timeprop from version_table where timeprop = to_date('11:12:13', 'hh24:mi:ss');
    then I get no result. I succeed only after adding that default date to the query - by patching the format as well - e.g.
    select timeprop from version_table where timeprop = to_date('1.01.1900 11:12:13', 'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi:ss');
    Basically, no time alone in a query.
    Is this transformation always needed or am I missing anything from this game ?
    Server is 11gr1.
    Thanks.

    If you database is NOT Oracle then now would be the time to state that.
    > Is this transformation always needed or am I missing anything from this game ?
    The data type in the database DDL is relevant.
    Oracle doesn't have any time only data types.
    So if and only if you (and everyone else) has inserted time values in a consistent manner then you could use normal comparison by using setTime().
    If that isn't true then you must craft Oracle PL/SQL to remove the time part of the timestamp values before you do your comparisions.

  • ADF Query Panel for Dynamic VO.

    Hi All,
    i am using jdev version 11.1.1.5.0.
    In my use case i have created one dynamic VO because table and no of column decided run time. now i want to provide filter on that vo using Named view criteria as ADF query panel.
    but column and table decided run time. So can i create dynamic query panel(View Criteria) run time?
    or Is there any another way to achieve my requirement?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Manish,
    not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you can have dynamic viewcriteria in a search region.
    In the searchregion binding in the pageDefenition simply use an EL Expression to determine what criteria to use.
    <searchRegion Criteria="#{pageFlowScope.startupMode eq 'mgr' ? 'CriteriaForManager' : 'CriteriaForEmployee'}"
                         Customizer="oracle.jbo.uicli.binding.JUSearchBindingCustomizer"
                         Binds="EmployeesView1Iterator"
                         id="CriteriaForManagerQuery"/>  I explained it on my weblog : http://lucbors.blogspot.nl/2011/10/in-my-current-project-use-lot-of-re.html

  • Filter and Sort Transient Attribute from Query Panel

    Jdev 11.1.1.3
    Hello,
    i am not able to filter a transient attribute from the standard query panel (with result table).
    I did following things:
    -Call an Initial AppMod Service Method from my Bounded Task Flow, and fill the Transient Attribute with some values (with setter method)
    -Next, call the Page with following characteristics:
    I defined a custom View Criteria with particular Bind Variables, take as query execution mode = In Memory and activate the Auto Query Flag
    Drag and Droped this Criteria from Conroll Panel on the Page as Query Panel with Table
    In Page Data Binding Definition, i set the InitialQueryOverridden Flag to true, otherwise no data will be filled in the transient attribute
    The sort and filter works only for the Database Attributes.
    Has anyone an Idea, how to keep same behavior for the trans attr.?
    Thank You!
    (Note: When i set the Query Mode (after init Call) to vo.setQueryMode(ViewObject.QUERY_MODE_SCAN_VIEW_ROWS), then the sorting of Trans Attr is working fine.
    But the filtering is not working well: Lets say a filtering is done by the Trans Attribute and we get 3 Rows. But when all rows wanted to be retrieved again, only those 3 are available then, no chance to get all rows back)

    Hi,
    assuming that sorting and filtering are similar, have a look here

  • ADF Faces Query Panel: How to display master data in detail table?

    Before stating the question, here is the background:
    I've a Fusion ADF (model/viewController) app that includes 2 tables with a master-detail relationship. The master table stores error numbers and associated levels of logging severity; the detail table stores the actual message text. These need to be separate, related tables because the requirement is that message text for a given error number can vary by product release.
    Messages are added in a bounded task flow; data for the master table entered in 1 fragment, data for the detail table in a 2nd page fragment. In the app, the Entity Objects for these tables are related with a foreign key association and have a composition association. This was done because the error numbers are generated in an Oracle DB sequence, and from what i have read that is a way in a task flow to have ADF put the number generated for the master table into the related key of the child table.
    The question is this:
    I need to create an ADF query panel with a table that searches on the detail DB table. However, i also need to use a couple of fields from the master DB table in both the query and in the ADF table. In addition, I need to add the ability for the user to edit either the master or detail record for the row he/she selects in the ADF table. I know how to create a view that would display the info i need; however, i have not been able to figure out how to obtain the keys for the selected ADF table row and pass them to the task flows that would edit.
    The master table has a numeric primary key. The detail table primary key consists of a foreign key to the master key and also a release number.
    I'm new to ADF and have been struggling with how to do this: i've a workaround that is functional but too klunky to be a permanent solution. So, could someone point me to some information on how to accomplish this?
    Versions: JDeveloper 11.1.1.4, ADF Business Components 11.1.1.59.23
    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks. I tried this out, but ran into an issue in that the detail table has 2 keys - a foreign key to the master primary key, and a 2nd key that uniquely distinguishes the detail. So i tried various things centered around using the SetCurrentRowWithKey operation and trying to obtain the selected ADF table row using an EL OF #{data.<pageDef>.<Iterator>.currentRowKeyString}; however i could not get the detail record for the selected row to display.
    I did find another approach that worked - I am wondering, is there anything problematic with this approach?:
    1. Create a VO joining the Master and Detail tables, with the Detail table being updatable.
    2. Made sure the applicable attributes were defined as keys.
    3. Add a query panel w/table using this VO.
    4. Create an ADF form based on the VO, showing the updatable fields.
    5. Create a bounded task flow with the following set on the Behavior tab:
    a. Share data controls with calling task flow
    b. Always Begin Transaction
    I specifically am wondering whether "Share data controls with calling task flow" has any negative implications or gotchas to handle. The doc at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31974/taskflows_parameters.htm#ADFFD1693 doesn't suggest so, but just wanted to double-check before I go down this path.

                     and a.mid     = b.mid(+)
                     and b.mid is null

    Use any aggregate function it'll always return a value even if there no data in the table
    create table r_dummy_1 (a number);
    SQL> select * from r_dummy_1;
    no rows selected
    SQL> select nvl(max(a),1) from r_dummy_1;
    NVL(MAX(A),1)

  • Ejb datacontrol, query panel with timestamps / date field errors

    Hi,
    I made an ejb datacontrol on a session bean in jdev 11g ps1 and used the named criteria of this entity in the data control to create an af querypanel. This works well.
    first thing I cannot configure a date picker with time on this timestamp field (only date ).( does not matter what I configure in the entity datacontrol xml , it does not work )
    and displaying the timestamp field in a inputData ( result table ) and showing the time also does not work either.
    When I use in the query panel a between query operator on this date or timestamp field I get this error.

  • Capturing data from query panel built used "ADF Query panel with table ?

    Hi All,
    I have a Search page built with a view Criteria.
    I enter the user_name in the query panel and hit Search and the result panel shows the results.
    Now If I gave a user_name which does not have any record in the VO, no data is displayed.
    At this point I want to capture the user_name from the query panel and on the click of a button ("Add" button I have created for Adding Records if not present) want to navigate to a different Add page .
    So how to capture the user_name from the query panel.
    Any pointers ??
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.4.0
    Thanks

  • Capturing constant value data entered at query filter

    Hi,
    I have two tables one is Customertab and other
    is Customerver.
    Customertab has two columns customerid and customer address
    customerver has two columns customerid and customer version
    For example in customer version table Customerid 100 has 2 versions 1 and 2
    customerid 200 has 3 versions 1,2 and 3
    customerid 300 has 4 versions 1,2,3 and 4
    when ever iam developing the report in query panel filter the first
    condition i select is customer id=100 and in the second filter condition i
    am giving condition as verid= and select the version from LOVS. but if i
    select the lovs iam seeing all versions.
    My requirement is like as i have selected 100 in the first
    filtercondition i have to see only 2 versions 1 and 2 in LOVS when
    selecting the
    2nd condition.
    i dont want to use prompts. So can you please let me know is there any
    possibility to capture the 100 some where and use the condition to restrict
    the LOV's in the next filter condition

    Hi,
    I dont want to create the prompts.But in Cascading prompts i need to create the prompts right.
    My requirement is like as part of the report i have condition with customer_id=100 where 100 is the constant value and its not a prompt. So now in the next filter condition i have the prompt for selecting the versions. at the time of selecting the LOV for version then i need to consider the versions only for customerid 100 and display the available versions for the particular customerid 100.

  • Date Filter uses unknown property by default, doesnt work

    Created a filterable and sortable table by dragging and dropping in VO from a AM. While it automatically sets the appropriate properties for filtering, and for non-date fields it works fine, for dates always "no row are found," even if I specifically choose a valid date where rows should return.
    I noticed in the property inspector, the inputdate value in the column's facet filter is set to an invalid value (by default when dragged and dropped!). In the property inspector, the value is outlined in orange (value=#{vs.filterCriteria.trSentOnDate}, populated by default), and the tooltip states "filterCriteria is an unknown property."
    Here's a snippet of the table def
            <af:table value="#{bindings.RequisitionsAllVO11.collectionModel}"
                            var="row"
                            rows="#{bindings.RequisitionsAllVO11.rangeSize}"
                            emptyText="#{bindings.RequisitionsAllVO11.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"

    We're getting there.
    New error now. I neglected to set the attribute Format and Format Type. I set those in the VO (Simple Date and MM/dd/yyyy, respectively), and now I get a nullPointerException.
    I hit enter after entering a date, and a popup shows the following:
