Dynamic default for parameter

Hi
Is it possible to have a default for report parameter that depending on the date.
For instance our customers need now to enter a Begin and Start date to display their data for a particular range.
Wish: When the parameter screen pops up the Start date and the End date are already filled in by default. In the start parameter i want the monday of 1st week of the year. In the end parameter i want the friday of the current week.
Is this possible? Need the date range parameter be of type date, or is String also allowed?
Thanks in advance
Auke Quist.

Hi Auke,
To give parameter default values, we will have two methods, this is either enter values directly or pickup the values from a database field.  As per your requirement, we can't define default values to start and end paramenters.
If you are using CR2008 then you have an optional parameter option, using this option we can check with Hasvalue() function whether the user entered values or not.
In your case we can write a formula if Hasvalues(ParameterValues) is empty then assign first week of the year to start and last week friday to end parameters in recored selection and filter the data.
Please note that att any point of time you can't assign formula results to your parameter default values.
Thanks,
Sastry

How would one tell a Flash Component that has a Parameter,
that is viewable through the Parameters tab, to use a variable that
has been passed through to the swf via the url? For example, my
Flash component has a Default Filename parameter that shows up in
the Parameters tab, but I want to set that to be the value that is
    passed in
    http://url/myflashfile.swf?filename=myfilname
    Many thanks.

    Gary,
    > Thank you for responding. I'm using AS2. I still have

    OrangeJuice.
    > But what if on the next user it is HashBrowns?
If the actual name of the external variable changes, then of
    course
you'll have to update your ActionScript to look for the new
    variable. Does
    that make sense?
    > I'm looking for a way to drop in the passed in variable,
    let's call it

    in my

    automatically
    > populate the parameter with the actual value that is
    passed
    > in.
Based on what you're typed, it looks like the name of your
    variable is
breakfastitem, whose string value might be "orange juice" or
    "hash browns"
(or whatever) ... which means you'll put breakfastitem
    (without the pound
signs) into your parameters panel -- and that assumes that
    the FlashVars
variable (the incoming variable) is named breakfastitem.
If, for some reason, the Parameters panel doesn't agree with
    dynamic
data, then give your component an instance name (see the
    Parameters panel or
Property inspector) use dot notation, as I showed earlier.
If this still isn't clear, keep asking. :) What you're after
    is
certainly doable, and I'm happy to keep rewording my
    suggestions until thay
    make sense.

  • ASA 5505 -Can I use outside dynamic IP for webserver DMZ?

    SETUP
    ASA 5505
    ASA Version 9.1(2)
    ASDM Version 7.1(3)
I have basic license, using only three vlans (outside, inside, DMZ).
    QUESTION:
I want to find a way (if possible) to use the single DYNAMIC IP (dhcp'd from ISP) on the "outside" interface, as a means to setup a web-server on the DMZ? I just want to allow my WHS-2011 (server) to talk to microsoft's free DDNS service where my domain name is hosted (ports 80,443,4125).
So far, every setup option I have tried does not make it past the implicit deny acl's (on the outside interface) to the web-server (DMZ).
I understand that the VLAN1 (inside) had to be disabled. I understand that objects now replace some of the older NAT'd components.
    CONFIG:

    SUMMARY:

I want to find a way (if possible) to use the single DYNAMIC IP (dhcp'd from ISP) on the "outside" interface, as a means to setup a web-server on the DMZ?
    Other:
As an interim alternative, I have been able to setup & connect to the ASA using clientless vpn (web-ssl), and from there getting over to my WHS2011 server...-but the problem is, I have no way of knowing, or updating my DDNS once that IP changes since the ASA keeps blocking the return traffic to theh outside interface. My only assumption is that becasue I am using a single dynamic IP (outside interface) that it has nothing to re-direct the traffic to....???
Thank You for any help you can provide!!
    k/r

    Hi,
I cant really help with the DDNS portion but I would imagine you already have that sorted out.
The ASA configurations however seem a bit off to me.
Here is what you should configure
    STATIC PAT TO HOST SERVICES
There are some changes that need to be done to both ACL and NAT configurations. First of the NAT configurations for each port require their own "object network" to be configured.
Also since you are using a DHCP address from the ISP to act as the NAT address then you can use the keyword/parameter "interface" in the actual "nat" command. This basically tells the ASA that it should use whatever IP address is currently on the "outside" interface of the ASA. So you wont have to configure any separate "object network" for the public IP address every time it changes.
Also, with regards to the ACL configurations. You should only configure one ACL per interface in the "in" direction. So all the rules you need to configure for traffic inbound from the Internet need to be in the same ACL that you then attach to the "outside" interface with the command "access-group"
    object network WEBSERVER-TCP80
    host 172.16.0.2
nat (DMZ,outside) static interface service tcp www www
    object network WEBSERVER-TCP443
    host 172.16.0.2
nat (DMZ,outside) static interface service tcp 443 443
    object network WEBSERVER-TCP4125
    host 172.16.0.2
nat (DMZ,outside) static interface service tcp 4125 4125
access-list outside_acl extended permit tcp any object WEBSERVER-TCP80 eq www
access-list outside_acl extended permit tcp any object WEBSERVER-TCP443 eq https
access-list outside_acl extended permit tcp any object WEBSERVER-TCP4125 eq 4125
    access-group outside_acl in interface outside
DYNAMIC PAT FOR LANs and DMZs
The above NAT configurations only handles the NAT for situations where the remote hosts on the Internet contact your DMZ server.
If you want to configure Dynamic PAT for all your LAN and DMZ users which basically enable them to use the "outside" interface public IP address for Internet traffic, then you could configure this single "nat" configuration
nat (any, outside) after-auto source dynamic any interface
This would enable Dynamic PAT for all users behind the ASA
I am not sure if you will run into problems since you are using a single public IP address and trying to forward TCP/443. This port is both used for SSL VPN and ASDM management of the ASA.
If you want to change the default port of the ASDM management you can use this command
    http server enable
If you want to change the default port of SSL VPN you can use these commands
    webvpn
    port
Naturally before doing either of the above changes, make sure that you are not relying to them for management purposes if something was to go wrong. If you have SSH management access to the ASA then it should naturally be ok.
I am not sure if all of the above are enough to get your setup working but it should be the basics. Naturally if there is still problems after the above suggestions it might be helpfull to see the current ASA configurations. For example NAT might not work if the ordering of NAT rules is wrong even though the actual configurations are otherwise valid.
    Hope this helps

    hi,
to pass the table to script means passing a field sting to script by using function module write_form.

to draw boxes on script the syntax will be
Boxes, Lines, Shading: BOX, POSITION, SIZE
Use the BOX, POSITION, and SIZE commands for drawing boxes, lines, and shading to print particular windows within a form or passages of text within a window in a frame or with shading.
The SAP printer drivers that are based on page-oriented printers (the HP LaserJet driver HPL2, the Postscript driver POST, the Kyocera Prescribe driver PRES) employ these commands when printing. Line printers and page-oriented printers not supported in the standard ignore these commands. You can view the resulting printer output in the SAPscript print preview.
    Syntax:
/: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
/: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
/: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    BOX Command
    Syntax
/: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
Effect: draws a box of the specified size at the specified position.
Parameters: For each of XPOS, YPOS, WIDTH, HEIGHT, and FRAME, you must specify both a measurement and a unit of measurement. Specify the INTENSITY parameter as a percentage between 0 and 100.
    XPOS, YPOS
Upper left corner of the box, relative to the values of the POSITION command.
Default: Values specified in the POSITION command.
The following calculation is performed internally to determine the absolute output position of a box on the page:
    X(abs) = XORIGIN + XPOS
    Y(abs) = YORIGIN + YPOS
    WIDTH
Width of the box. Default: WIDTH value of the SIZE command.
    HEIGHT
Height of the box. Default: HEIGHT value of the SIZE command.
    FRAME
    Thickness of frame.
    Default: 0 (no frame).
    INTENSITY
Grayscale of box contents as %.
    Default: 100 (full black)
Measurements: You must specify decimal numbers as literal values (like ABAP numeric constants) by enclosing them in inverted commas. Use the period as the decimal point character. See also the examples listed below.
Units of measurement: The following units of measurement may be used:
    TW (twip)
    PT (point)
    IN (inch)
    MM (millimeter)
    CM (centimeter)
    LN (line)
    CH (character).
    The following conversion factors apply:
    1 TW = 1/20 PT
    1 PT = 1/72 IN
    1 IN = 2.54 CM
    1 CM = 10 MM
1 CH = height of a character relative to the CPI specification in the form header
1 LN = height of a line relative to the LPI specification in the form header
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
Draws a frame around the current window with a frame thickness of 10 TW (= 0.5 PT).
    /: BOX INTENSITY 10
Fills the window background with shading having a gray scale of 10 %.
/: BOX HEIGHT 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a horizontal line across the complete top edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a vertical line along the complete height of the left hand edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT 1 CM FRAME 10 TW INTENSITY 15
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '10.0' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '13.5' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
Draws two rectangles and two lines to construct a table of three columns with a highlighted heading section.
    POSITION Command
    Syntax
/: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the origin for the coordinate system used by the XPOS and YPOS parameters of the BOX command. When a window is first started, the POSITION value is set to refer to the upper left corner of the window (default setting).
Parameters: If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value, in other words, as a value that specifies an offset from the upper left corner of the output page. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value. If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to this parameter.
    XORIGIN, YORIGIN
    Origin of the coordinate system.
    WINDOW
Sets the values for the left and upper edges to match those of the current window (default setting).
    PAGE
Sets the values for the left and upper edges to match those of the current output page (XORIGIN = 0 cm, YORIGIN = 0 cm).
    /: POSITION WINDOW
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to the upper left corner of the window.
/: POSITION XORIGIN 2 CM YORIGIN '2.5 CM'
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to a point 2 cm from the left edge and 2.5 cm from the upper edge of the output page.

    SIZE Command
    Syntax
/: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the values of the WIDTH and HEIGHT parameters used in the BOX command. When a window is first started, the SIZE value is set to the same values as the window itself (default setting).
Parameters: If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to the current value of this parameter. If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value.
    WIDTH, HEIGHT
Dimensions of the rectangle or line.
    WINDOW
Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current window (default setting).
    PAGE
Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current output page.
    /: SIZE WINDOW
Sets WIDTH and HEIGHT to the current window dimensions.
/: SIZE WIDTH '3.5' CM HEIGHT '7.6' CM
Sets WIDTH to 3.5 cm and HEIGHT to 7.6 cm.
    /: POSITION WINDOW
/: POSITION XORIGIN -20 TW YORIGIN -20 TW
/: SIZE WIDTH +40 TW HEIGHT +40 TW
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
A frame is added to the current window. The edges of the frame extend beyond the edges of the window itself, so as to avoid obscuring the leading and trailing text characters.

  • UI defaults for LOV on report not working?

    Hello,
I have a table called CUSTOMERS and an associated lookup table called DISCOUNT (each customer is associated to a discount level).
I defined a complete set of UI-defaults for CUSTOMERS, containing a LOV-definition for the column DISCOUNT_ID (which is the FK to DISCOUNT).
I specified that DISCOUNT_ID is to be "displayed as text(based on LOV)" as a report default.
APEX (3.1.2) seems to ignore that completely when I create a new report and agree to use the UI defaults.
I always get a column displayed as "standard report column" and no associated LOV.
    Am I doing anything wrong?
Strangely, the similar setting for (tabular) form defaults works fine.
Thanks in advance for any hint!
    Ingo

    Also Nelmaz,
I have just checked OSS notes and found below note helpful to you:
Note 1059465 - CN43N: Dynamic selections for scheduling data of WBS elemnts
    Symptom
You cannot use transaction CN43N to create dynamic selections for scheduling data of WBS elements (table PRTE). You can use transaction CNS43 to do so.
    Hope this helps.

  • Dynamic Configuration for two file adapters communication channels

    Hello Experts!!!!!!
In one of the interface in my landscape, I am using two file adapters for creating two files with different names and at two different destination on F.T.P.
However the receiver service for both the communication channel are same.
In message mapping I am using multi mapping to create two files out a single message.
Now i have a requirement of changing file path and file name using dynamic configuration for both the comm channel.
When i doing dynamic coniguration for both the comm. channel. My interface is creating two files but with same name and on same destination which is set for second communication channel through dynamic configuration.
Here, I guess the second dynamic configuration is over writing the first dynamic configuration and hence creating two files with same name and at same destination.
Please suggest, if separate dynamic configuration for separate communication channel of same receiver service can be done?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amol

    Thanks for your prompt responses!!!!!
Is there any way, By which in dynamic configuration I can find out the communication channel name and then change its parameter.
I mean if iam using say comm. channel A and B.
Then in dynamic configuration for A, I will first take communication channel A by calling it and then change its path/file name.
and then do samething for comm. channel B in its dynamic conf.
    Regards,
    Amol

  • Dynamic URL for HTTP receiver adapter

    Hi all,
when the XI send the http request to the target system, the format maybe like this:
header + body the body is including: Prolog, payload and Epilog
here is about the target system have a 'input' parameter(maybe string type)
is it possible to pass the 'head + body' these value(or maybe the whole http request message) into input
i mean is it possible to set the dynamic URL for http receiver adapter like this:
    http://host:port/path?input=<the header and body>
i have searched the blog Dynamic Configuration of Some Communication Channel Parameters using Message Mapping
    Link:[/people/william.li/blog/2006/04/18/dynamic-configuration-of-some-communication-channel-parameters-using-message-mapping]
and the similar threads in the forum
    please give me some advice
    thanks in advance

When a HTTP server requests the whole message as URL parameters, then I assume that the server also requests an HTTP GET, which is not supported by XI.
    Could you check this?

  • Dynamic URL for Recv HTTP (Adapter spec attribute enabled)

    Hi,
I need to have a dynamic URL for one of my cases been worked. the URL is
    httlp://:<host>/perform/XTA?serv=*&action=start
the event "action" can accept either start/stop or restart. i wanna to control this dynamically and went for recv http enabled with adapter specific message attributes. here i had enabled the check box "URL" and in parameter 1 i had given the name as "action".
in my message payload the "action" will be start/stop or restart which is handled by UDF for which the code is below:l
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey trig = DynamicConfigurationKey.create( "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP", "UrlParamOne");
    conf.put(trig,action);
    return "";
this udf is mapped to the root node of the target...but when execute the case i get the following error
"Dynamic Header - Missing Message Attributes: URL/HTTP Destination"
    when i execute the url
    httlp://:<host>/perform/XTA?serv=*&action=start
in browser it works fine and also with fully qualified name in http recv works fine but not with dynamic settings.
    any help on it pls?

    Hi Prabhu,
Enable Adapter-Specific Message Attributes(ASMA) in receiver HTTP channel.
Dont enable checkboxes for "URL or HTTP Destination".
    Enable checkbox "Apply URL Parameters"
for parameter1 textbox give value action

  • Argument not specified for parameter error.(IIF) Report Builder 3.0

Hi, Im trying to set the font colour of text dynamically dependant upon the date.
This is using report builder 3.0 expressions. -I'm new to using expressions.
I want my expression to do this:
If less than or equal to today, RED,
If greater than today but less than today+30 days, yellow, (this is the confusing bit)
    else Black.
    My expression is this:
    =IIF(Fields!Standard_Licence_Expiry.Value =< TODAY(),"Red",
    IIF(Fields!Standard_Licence_Expiry.Value BETWEEN TODAY() and (DATEADD(DateInterval.DAY,30,GETDATE())),"Purple","Black")
However I keep getting the error:
The Color expression for the textrun ‘Standard_Licence_Expiry.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ contains an error: [BC30455] Argument not specified for parameter 'FalsePart' of 'Public Function IIf(Expression As Boolean, TruePart As Object, FalsePart As Object)
    As Object'.

    Hi BlakeWills,
Unlike T-SQL, there is no BETWEEN keyword in
SSRS expressions. So we can try the expression like below to achieve your requirement:
    =IIF(Fields!Standard_Licence_Expiry.Value <=TODAY(),"Red", IIF(Fields!Standard_Licence_Expiry.Value > TODAY() and Fields!Standard_Licence_Expiry.Value < DateAdd(DateInterval.Day,30,Today()),"Yellow","Black"))
Please note that the Standard_Licence_Expiry field should be a date type data in the expression above. If it is a string type, we should use the expression below to replace the Fields!Standard_Licence_Expiry.Value:
    cdate(Fields!Standard_Licence_Expiry.Value)
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

If so, this is a core workflows supported by the CR .NET runtime. </p><p>There are a lot of resources on the BOBJ support site and the DevLibrary that shows how to pass parameters to a report. • Dynamic Variant for Report

    Hi,
How to put current date in report output through variants.
I should not use events, when user selects variants then i should place the current date in my selection-screen.
help full information will be appreciated.

    Hi Rams,
U have to create a dynamic variant for this.
    Fallow these steps.
    1. Fill all the selection screen values including date(Current date).
    2. Save it as variant(ctrl+S), give variant name and description.
    3. In the same screen u can see some check boxes corrosponding to each selection screen parameter.
Now for the date field select the check box under
L Selection variable and then press the push button selection variables in the tool bar.
    4. Now u will get the date range in the next screen.
    5. Here press the yellow light under D, it will become green colour.
    5. Next press drop down(Small arrow pointing down at the end of date)
    6. Now u will get a list of options for calculations.
    7. Here select current date.
    8. Now save the variant.
This completes setting up of dynamic variant.
Now when ever u select this variant it will populate the selection screen with current date and remaining fields with the data u save while creating the variant.
Hope this will solve ur problem.
    Thanks,
    Vinod.

  • Default Date parameter to current date

Using Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.1.0.892
I have a Stored Procedure for the report that among others requires a StartDate and EndDate parameter.
It appears that I can not easily/simply set the default for this parameters to the current date.
In the properties dialog for the parameter the Default value appears to be just a text field.  I can type in a value, but I can not make it always have the current date selected.
This report also has an End Date that we would like to have default to the current date(no time) plus one day.
We can do this using Reporting services, but I can not find a way to do this as easily in crystal reports. What am I missing?
    Thanks

Well here's a little quick tip for reports have to be scheduled and require date parameters. I've used this on lots of reports...
For the bulk of our scheduled reports, the user typically wants to see data for either the current month or the previous month. For example management may want a production report scheduled to run at the end of every week for the current month so that they can track month to date progress. They will also want the same report run on the 1st of the month for the previous month so that they have a final monthly total.
Here's how I do it with just one report...
    1) Create a text parameter called {?DateRange}
    2) Give it 2 static LOVs... Current Month & Previous Month
    3) Build out the SQL Command (I use a lot of them... Most of our vendors aren't nutty about clients adding SPs to their DBs)
    4) Drop in the following block of code at the top of the SQL Command...
    DECLARE @DateRange CHAR(15)
    DECLARE @BEG DateTime, @END DateTime
    SET @DateRange = '{?DateRange}';
    IF @DateRange = 'Current Month' SET @BEG = DATEADD(mm, DATEDIFF(mm,0,GETDATE()),0)
                                                   ELSE SET @BEG = DATEADD(mm, DATEDIFF(mm,0,GETDATE())-1,0);
    IF @DateRange = 'Current Month' SET @END = DATEADD(ms,-5,DATEADD(mm, DATEDIFF(mm,0,GETDATE())+1, 0))
                                                   ELSE SET @END = DATEADD(ms,-5,DATEADD(mm, DATEDIFF(mm,0,GETDATE()), 0));
    5) Modify the WHERE clause of the SQL to pull dates between @BEG AND @END
    6) Add the DateRange parameter in the Parameter List of the Command.
At this point the user has just 2 date range options... Current Month & Previous Month.
From there you can upload to the CR Server and schedule it.

  • Dynamic group for HSW object based on Site (Gateway) server

    Hi
Using the SiteName parameter when deploying gateway servers like described in the blog post from Cameron Fuller
    http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/cfuller/archive/2015/02/12/creating-dynamic-groups-for-objects-which-exist-behind-a-gateway-in-opsmgr-part-1.aspx
I would like to create an aditional dynamic Group with all Health Service Watcher objects related to an Site (Autocreate) Group.
Any ideas on the XML Query or other ways of duing this?

Yes I know this one, but the SiteName Group is not in my MP.
So I need to reference the XML to a Group outside of my own MP.
    Like:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2014/04/09/creating-groups-of-health-service-watcher-objects-based-on-other-groups.aspx
    But with the '<MonitoringClass>$MPElement[Name="grouptest.compgroup"]$</MonitoringClass>'
Line pointing to a autocreated SiteName Group.
