Dynamic email group of addresses

Hello everybody,
I need to map in the 'To' field of an email a group of email addresses and I would like to hear some suggestions about it, I've already implemented the dynamic email address with the email 3.0 strcuture but now I need to define a group of users as in example if I define for some interface Group1 I need to have stored all the email addresses for that group somewhere so in the mapping I can concatenate those addresses to map them in the field 'To', I've never used value mapping before and I don't know if this could help me, any suggestions????; i'm thinking on maybe have a Z user table in the ABAP Instance so I can query for a group what addresses I need to send the email, but I don't know if there's a better way to do this without having to generate a Z table, thanks in advance.

Hi,
You can do a RFC lookup from your mapping by calling the RFC function module. Once you get the group of email address from Z table , you can map it to the To field and can send email to the group of users.

Is there an easy way to import entourage email groups into address book?

I don't want to import the contacts individually, but as group. Any assistance would be appreciated. Entourage 2004 and address book is 4.1

First go to the avid site and download the avid codecs for the mac. Not sure if they'll have compatible codecs for such an old version, but worth a shot. then do a test export from the avid. It would probably be smart to convert the clips using compressor to match your fcp sequence settings. Not sure if the timecode would come across. You could note the timecode of the first frame on the avid and then modify the clip once imported into fcp. Test your workflow before doing a lot of work.
You might also check if automatic duck's got something that would work.

Creating a group in address book from a group of emails

Hello,
I would like to create an email group in Address Book from a list of email addresses that was sent to me.
The scenario: I receive an email from our team manager for my son's baseball team. Listed in the "To:" header in the email are the 20 email addresses for the parents. I would like to copy/paste those emails or highlight/drag them into a new Group created in Address Book.
How do I do this without adding each individual email into the address book and then dragging each individual contact into the Group?

Cannot send email to Smart Group from Address Book

I created several Smart Groups in Address Book but I can't use any of them to send email. When I right-click the group name and choose Send Email, it opens my default email program (Thunderbird) and puts only the name of the Smart Group into the To: field, not the actual addresses.
If I try to actually send the message, I get the error that (name of group) "is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the email."
What am I doing wrong? How can I get it to paste the actual addresses and not just the name of the group? I looked at the Edit Distribution List window and all the addresses are there.
I'm using OS X 10.5.7, Address Book 4.1.2 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.22.

What is the exact message you get when sending fails -- does it say there are one or more invalid addresses, or what?
Having a name in the list without email address or possibly one separated by comma between last and first might result similarly in an invalid address, and Mail will likely refuse to send to any. But if the message is from the SMTP, that might depend on the provider's policies for that.

Michal's blog Mail Adapter (XI) - how to implement dynamic mail address. was a gr8 help in doing this.
But there is no clue of setting up of "CC" in email.
There should be "CC" in email is our bussiness requirement.

If you do not need mail package for other reasons, I suppose it is enough to provide a value in Dynamic Configuration for fields "THeaderTO" and "THeaderCC" and the select "Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" and "Variable Transport Binding" in receiver Mail Adapter.

Specifications for mail attributes:
○       Under From, specify the e-mail address from which the message is sent.
○       Under To, specify the e-mail address that will receive the message. If you enter more than one address, you must separate them with a semicolon.
If you have specified an IMAP server under URL, the message is saved in the specified folder but is not sent to the receiver specified under To.
○       Under Cc, specify the other e-mail addresses to which the e-mail is to be sent.
These addresses are visible to the receiver.
○       Under Bcc, specify the other e-mail addresses to which the e-mail is to be sent.
These addresses are not visible to the receiver.
○       Enter the Subject of the e-mail message.
○       Specify whether you want to encode the content of the e-mail message. You have the following options:
■       None
■       Base64 (default value)
■       quoted-printable

Configuring Receiver mail adapter with dynamic email addresses

I'm a newbie to XI and I have problems in configuring the Receiver mail adapter with the "Use Mail package" option selected. I am trying pickup a file (using file adapter on Sender side, picks up a simple XML file) and after mapping in XI, send the message as an email message to dynamic email addresses.
Everything works fine if I did not select the "Use Mail Package". But when I choose that option it errors out. I followed this blog posted on SDN -

What I want to accomplish is, I have a simple message mapping where the Studentdetails are mapped to, lets say Customer details. For convenience lets keep it simple, StudentId --> Customerid, (student)Firstname --> (customer)Firstname, (Student)Lastname --> (customer)Lastname
I would like to get the Customer details as an XML attachment or in the body of an email with from, to and subject corresponding to that specified in the <Mail> node.
I followed the instructions posted on the blog and it works fine if I don't map the studentdetails to customerdetails. I did multimapping, with one source message (the xml file I posted above) and two target messages (customerdetails and Mail, which is the external definition posted on the blog). I beleive I'm missing something here. Could somebody please guide me through this?

How to configure dynamic email address for notification

All,
I have a problem in assigning dynamic email address for notification activity in a bpel process, I want to assign a user from a user-properties file. How do I achieve this. I tried using the users in System-jazn-data.xml file, but if i add a email attribute to the existing users it doesn't show up. I am sure there should be an easier way of using identity service and adding attributes to the jazn realm user, I might be missing something.
I cannot have it as part of the payload the only way is to use identity service.

Thanks for the reply. Its solved now. For anybody if interested you can set the dynamic email address either i) having it as part of payload - In this case use the xpath to query the payload varaible ii) use identity service - follow the following steps
1.Create a user in Application enterprise manager/also you can use a existing account, if u are creating a new one assign the correct role
2. In either case edit the user-properties.xml(bpel/system/services/config) file for the corresponding user and add an attribute called email
3. Bounce the server for this changes to take effect
4. In the notification properties in the to address use ids:getUserProperty and pass the attribute name

Your question and description is not very clear to me, so hopefully something here will help:
1. Gmail is a service not an app or a place. So you need to access the service with an app - that can be iPhoto, Mail, Outlook or any other mail client, or even a Web Browser like Safari or Firefox.
So you can't "go to GMail" as you write, but instead you go to an application set up to use the GMail service.
2. iPhoto is not a mail client. It's a handy way to email pics to Grandma, but for what you're doing you need to use an app that supports all of the Gmail service. iPhoto doesn't. There is no way around that.
3. How to send to groups will vary depending on what app you use to access the GMail service. All of these apps can receive photos from iPhoto, either - as in the case of Mail and Outlook, via the Share function - or, in the case of all the rest - via a Media Browser.
For help sending to Groups using any of these other apps you need to ask omn their respective forums. But the workflow is quite simple:
Using Mail or Outlook set in the iPhoto Prefereneces:
1. Select the pic(s) you want to share.
2. Choose email from the Share function
3. Make your selections re size etc
4. The email opens up in Mail or Outlook
- from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.
Using any other app:
1. In the mail app create a new email
2. Click on the Attach button or link
3. Use the Media browser to select the pic(s) you want to send
4. Attach them
- from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.

Need to view individual email addresses in a ldap email group

Have netscape 7.0 clients that are sending email using email groups created in a Sun 5.2 ldap directory server. I have some folks that need to be able to view the list of individual email addresses in these groups. Can,t seem to view the individual email addresses from within Netscape 7.0, but I recall having this ability with netscape 4.7. Any way to view this information?

Yes, it works directly in Mail - type in group name and all's well and lovely - but if I'm in Address Book and want to email a group it opens numerous emails. THere seems to be no way of opening Mail from Address Book and go straight to emailing a group.

How many in the group? Some ISP's have a restriction on that. Check with your ISP.
