Dynamic File name in sender file adapter

Hello,
We have a requirement to pull files from our vendor's SFTP folder, the file will be pulled once a day however the file would remain in the folder for 45 days. The filename follows the pattern STL-20110425.01.002.TAB where the date keeps changing every day.
I could not see any option in the adapter to achieve this. Has anyone done it before? Please share your thoughts.

Ths is regarding email to file scenario. I am trying to create file (in rceiver file adapter) with the same name as the email attachment that i read from mail sender adapter. I want ro use adapter module for this. I could find from blogs that there is module - GetAttachmentName - available that i can use for this in sender mail adapter.
Can you please let me know what whetehr i neeed to mention any module key and parameters for this.
I assume , i need to do following steps :Please confirm.
1. i can use this module - after payload swap module and before standard mail adapter module in sender mail adapter
2. select ASMA option in advanced tab in sender mail adapter
3. In receiver file adapter select ASMA option in advanced tab in sender mail adapter
4. Also select file name option in ASMA in sender mail adapter

If you use the Module getAttachmentName, which is described here,

your scenario should work as you described it.
You just need to make sure that the Attachment Name that you read in the first place, is mapped to the Filename Attribute of the
Fileadapter (http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File/FileName).

Dynamic File Adapter status - Active or Inactive

Is there any way to set the Sender/ Receiver File adapter status dynamically to inactive or active.
Is there any setting exists in the file adapters ? Please provide me possible solutions.

There is one more way of doing this as well. Just now i found that.
In the runtime workbench - Communication channel monitoring , Select the automatic control for the comminucation channel to make active or inactive .
there are options for our comm channel to run specfic date and time.

Poll a folder dynamically file adapter

Hi
I have 2 requirements:
1. I want to poll a folder using file adapter for all the files in it. How to achieve this ? Can I use *.*. but the dev guide explicitly disapproves of it so what else to do.
2. On a more advance note. I want to change the folder to be read from dynamically. This way I want to poll different folders using a single file adapter.

1 you should be able to use *.* to just process all the files in the folder
i'm not sure how to make the directory dynamic, since this is the start of your process, so there isn't some other trigger moment what can set the directory to either a or b
i think you should be able to set it on runtime from the console with some like this :

only that's for preference so i can imagine there will also be some setting the the jca directory property.
or you could create a directory myfile, and in this put both folder a and folder b

Change Queue Name in Sender Soap Adapter (or make it dynamic)

Hello SDN!!!!
We have a scenario where we want to make a message EOIO and I have set the Queue Name in the Sender Soap Adapter and this works great. BUT it is needed to have a more specific queue name (based on order numbers not interface name) So with this being said, Is there any way to change the queue name or append to it from the Soap Sender Adapter. I see it is possible to write a Module Bean, but the Message object returned from the ModuleContext is a scaled down version of the normal message object. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is this the only way to change the queue name for Soap Sender? I don't think it is possible for them to do this, as their urls are static when calling us

Dynamic select querry in sender jdbc adapter

Hi,
We are working on a scenario where in we will be using different source database tables , we were trying to see if it is possible that the select querry can be made dynamic so that the same communication channel can be used for all the different source tables.
Request all to come up with suggestions as to if this is possible.

Let me reframe my question.
I have multiple database instances at source side. On all instances I have same table name.
My requirement is to poll all these instances table and fetch data.
Do I need to create multiple sender agreements or there is a way to dynamically change the datbase name in sender Communication channel.
Any other solution is also appreciated.
Same is the case with JMS adapter, Multiple instances of JMS are there at source side sending similar structure data in there own queue.

One of our requirements is the query statement that we write in sender communication channel should be changed dynamically, for example in where condition the condition parameters values required to change.

Dynamic File adapter configuration

Hi All,
Is it possible in XI give source directory dynamically?
If I move my XI development objects into quality or production, there would not be the same directories available. So we need to modify the source directory name again?
Could anyone clarify these issues?

Hi Venu..
It's possible to give source directory a dynamic name..
Just type %directoryname% in the source path..
and in the adapter paramaters (variable substution) access the value dynamically..
Ex:
variable
directoryname
Refernce:
payload:messagetype,level,.........etc

Dynamic attachment name in receiver mail adapter

Hi all,
i am doing a receiver mail scenario (PI 7.1). my requirement is like this :
Receiver file need to be send in receiver mail attachment and attachment name should be dynamic
format for the attachment name should be like this
R+value from a particular field in payload +Timestamp
for example my file name should be like this R001_510815021009062532.xml
which is R+ 001_510815 + 021009062532 + .xml
can anybody suggest me how to go for this requirement? is ther any UDF or should i go for adapter module developement?

Dynamic attachment name with receiver mail adapter and use mail package

We need to send mapped XML payload as attachment (with dynamic name) to a recepient (recepient email id is part of input xml payload, but not part of the mapped XML payload).
I could probably do this using the adapter module (as per the following link),

1) XML payload as attachment (with dynamic name)
2) recipient (recipient email id is part of input xml payload, but not part of the mapped XML payload)
These two is possible by using Mail Package. You have a standard xsd for mail package which you can download from the SAP Note 748024.
The xml created in you java mapping which will be your attachment should be put into the <content> tag of the mail package xml structure. and the file name can be set in the <Content_Type> tag.

The sender interface (file) picks up an xml file and a pdf document.
The receiver wants to get the xml file as a txt file and the pdf, both sent together by mail.
We are following this thread:
"Sending multiple attachments winthin a single Receiver Mail adapter in required format".
So far we are able to generate the txt file and send it together with the pdf to the recipient.
The txt file gets its name from the payload of the xml file.
Unfortunately the pdf should be renamed to the same name as the txt file.
And here we are stuck.
We generate the filename for the txt file in the mapping to the mail message (as usual ximail30.xsd).
But for the pdf we are only able to set a static name in the channel module page using
Transform.ContentDisposition.
Any ideas how to solve this are really welcome!!!!
(Solutions that do not talk about using a new module to be written are prefered.)

Sender CIDX adapter name

Hi mates,
Is the name of sender CIDX adapter constructed at runtime according to the template <Partner Role>_<direction>_<Action> or is it just the naming convention for the adapter?
I understand from <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a8/502041cfb7f423e10000000a155106/content.htm">Creating a Service</a> that service name is constructed at runtime according the conventione specified there.
My question is it same for adapter name as well?
If not which sender adapter and in turn which sender agrement is used at runtime? How is it determined?

Yes. But then in your receiver determination, you still configure the non-virtural business system that represents the receiver in your landscape - e.g. an R/3 system.

Dynamic file name of the attachment in sender mail adapter

I have configured a sender mail adapter which receives some attachments.
Right now the file name of the attachment is hardcoded to "MailAttachment-1" "MailAttachment-2" using the content-description from "AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean" module.
I want to set it to dynamic ie. instead of "MailAttachment-1"... i want it with real name of the attach.
please suggest a solution w/o the need to develop a custom adapter module.

Now, i can see that the name of the original file is into the content type named as text/xml; name"name of the file.xml" when i send the email from outlook.
If i send it from hotmail, this is not happend.
Do you know why happend this?
If i always would have the original name inside the content type, my problem will be solved.

Guys I just remember reading a weblog but can't find it now that I need it, on how to set the file name in message mapping dynamically but not using any payload field.

How can I dynamically change the attachment filename when preparig email to be sent? The attachment is an invoice in XML format and I have to put the invoice number into the attachment file name.
