Dynamic height of rows in JTreeTable

Hi,
I use a JTreeTable. In the fourth colum is text with multiple rows (I used a textarea internally), that means the height of the row has been expanded. Unfortunately the height of each row of the JTreeTable is default (16 px) so the cell of the first colum (the colum with the tree) shows two and a half nodes if the cell of the fourth colum has text in three rows. I prefer only one node per row (top aligned) and the next node one row below AND the dashed lines has to be larger...
Can anyone help me??
Thank you!

No, that is not the answer.
The height of the row of the table is set dynamically. Means, if the width of the colum is 130 px and the text is larger, so four rows per text needed, the height of the row is set to (4*textarea.getPreferredWidth().height +2). It works!!
My problem is, that I cannot set the height of the treenodes independently from each other. In other words, I need a way to set the gap between nodes and to extend the dashed lines.
Example:

  • Dynamic height in a table with scrollable content

    Hello,
    i have in a web dynpro a table. The table is scrollable. At present i have a fixed height. Is it possible that i have a dynamic height, so that the table for example has a height of 70 percents from the page.
    I try that but it doesn't work. Have any one a solution or is it not the supported in web dynpro's?
    best regards
    Markus Jura

    Markus,
    There is no way to define height of table in percents of parent container. You may only manipulate number of visible rows. For example, bind corresponding IWDTable property to context attribute of type int and change value of this attribute dynamically (in wdDoInit and/or action handlers code)

  • Report Formatting with Dynamic Height Header/Footer

    I need to generate a printable report (pdf if possible) with a:
    1) Header - Dynamic Height based on recordset output
    2) Body - Recordset output, may carry over to multiple pages
    3) Footer - Dynamic Height based on recordset out
    In short, the whole page is dynamic- The header and footer need to be on every page and whatever height is left over to fit within the print area goes to the body and the line item output of each record (think invoice).  Then the number of pages will depend on how long it takes to output the body recordset (but the header and footer MUST be on each page).
    I have been trying to get this to work using cfdocument since CF7 and have never had any luck. It has not worked due to the reason that since the header and footer are dynamic height, I do not have any way to set the margins properly on page generation (so it shrinks the header or leaves excess whitespace).
    Anyone recommend the best way to go about this? I have heard about the report builder and am not sure if that will fit these requirements.  I appreciate any assistance!

    When the footer goes to the 2nd page the page subform is incremented so you will have to reference the page subform as well. I suggest that you add a button (this is for a test only) to the footer subform and add the code app.alert(this.somExpression). Now render the form and make sure the footer stays on one page. Hit the button and take note of the someExpression. Now add enough rows to force the footer to a new page. Hit th ebutton again and take note of the changed somExpression. So to solve your problem you will have to find out which page your footer is on. and then construct your expression to incorporate this chane in expression. Note that the indexes are 0 based but the page numbering is 1 based.
    Hope that helps

  • Dynamic Height in Graphs does not work properly when the graph is in an list

    Help please,
    I have an report in SQL Server 2008 (SP1) Reporting Services which uses Dynamic Height to dynamically increase the size of the graph for the data. For a single dataset this works great!
    When I place this graph in a list/tablix (to display this graph on each group) things go bad... Only the first graph on every page is resized, all other graphs on the same page are equal in size of the first!
    When I place a pagebreak on the lists property all graphs are drawn fine!! But then I will have a page for every question in my data (which can be a lot!)
    What is going on here? Please help.

    Hi Jerry,
    thanks for your reply, but this does not work. The graphs are now all the same size (the size of the first one that is), and on the same page for that matter...
    It looks like the renderer calculates the value of the dynamic height only once on a page in stead of each graph. That's a bug in my opinion.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    The inner workings of the report are like this: The data contains anwers from a survey by question, so i have a unknown count of answers with each question; I placed a list on my report with a groupingproperty on the question asked. On this list i place a horizontal bar-graph which must grow in height when it is too small. The dynamic height should be calculated like this =70 + (CountDistinct(AnswerValue.Value)*10) & "pt".
    When i place this calculation in a textbox, every item in the group is calculated correctly. Each graph is drawn, but the graphs are sized only to the size of the first graph on the page. When I place a pagebreak after each list-repeat (so i get each question on a seperate page) each graph is drawn correctly! This results however in more than 100 pages with all used for just a few centimeters (think about trees!).
    I'm using SQL 2008 / SSRS2008 with SP1 by the way ( without SP1, the behaviour is the same).
    Any more suggestions are appreciated.

  • Dynamic no of rows in tabular form

    Dear oracle forms experts,
    hope you all will be doing fine.
    Is it possable to that a tabular form take dynamic no of rows at run time, i mean if we i query mode if data contains 20 rows then it should expand to 20 rows and if it is only 5 rown then it should expand to 5 rown. and if i do not want to use side bar as well.
    Regards
    Abbas

    OK and thanks you too.
    now if i take it in this way that i have defied a tabular form for let say 20 rows and now in query mode if there are only 5 records then my form shuold show only first 5 rows that have data and rest 15 should get hidden..
    so now can it be possable in forms Developer 10g.

    Hi,
    If you really want to have a dynamic table, then you will have to find a way to generate a whole new table, and then copy the data from the old table to the new one. There is no way to modify a type during runtime in ABAP.
    Here an example how to generate a dynamic table based on another internal table, hope this will help you.

  • To change the height of row of a table

    hi Experts,
    1) Can any one please help me to change the height of row of a table
    2) If i need to display data intable in such a way that data would be displayed in every alternate row, keeping one row empty.
    Points wil be rewarded to helpful answers,
    Regards,

    hi Jarrod,
    i want to make a display iview where the data comes from a table, add image beside each data from the table,
    1) if i display data in table i am not able to add image beside each row.
    2)i have also tried using one form and one table displayed side by side where the table has data from data service and form has the images (static), but here again as the height of row can not be changed the image does not fit perfectly beside the rows.
    I have not worked in VC before, so dont know wat exactly cant be done,
    hope you will guide if you have any idea wat could be done
    I got the help given below but not able to understand the flow of what is done
    First create a button to trigger an action (let's say the action is called "go").
    Drag a line and create a signal out set go as the event, name the signal out as "sig".
    Create 4 numeric fields in the signal out "num1",..,"num4".
    Map num1 <- 1
    Add a signal in to the model, name it "sig" and create 4 numeric field to it ("num1",..,"num4" as well).
    Drag a line from the signal in and choose a form from the context menu.
    4 recordsl will appear in the form. set them as visible and as spinner control.
    drag a line from the form's out port and add a signal out named "go".
    Map is as follows:
    num1 <= @num1+1
    num2 <= 1
    num3 <= if(@num2==1,1,0)
    num4 <= if@num3==1,1,0)
    Add a gaurd condition to the line @num1<4 and name the event "Next_Event"
    double click on num1 to open the properties popup.
    For num1 define a custom action named "Next_Event"
    For num2 define a custom action named "Pass1"
    For num3 define a system action move row - move next
    For num4 define a custom action named "pass2"
    drag a line from the form and add data store. Create 2 field in it "first" and "second"
    set the event to be pass1 and map the value you want from the table to "first".
    Create another line from the form to the data store with event pass 2 that maps value to second.
    Create a new form with 2 field which default vlaue is the value in the data store.
    Points would be awarded to helpful answers.

  • Has anyone been able to create a HtmlDataTable with dynamic col and rows?

    Has anyone been able to create a HtmlDataTable with dynamic col and rows?
    If so please explain. I am successfully able to dynamically add columns using the getChildren method of the htmldatatable object
    BUT for each new column created no data is displayed.
    I am only able to display data for columns originally created when i clicked and dragged the dataTable icon from the pallette in netbeans visual web kit.
    Any help on this is greatly appreciated. I have been searching the web and these forums for around 8 hours and no one seems to have a working example of this. Lots of similar posts asking how to do it though :(
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to add af:inputFile dynamically within each row of table?

    I need to add af:inputfile dynamically within each row of af:table, when the user hits a commandlink at the bottom of each row.
    I have tried wrapping af:inputfile with af:foreach:
    <af:table value="Bean.rows" var="row">
    <af:column>
    <af:forEach step="1" begin="1"
    end="#{Bean.filecount}">
    <af:inputFile label="Please upload a file"
    id="1"
    valueChangeListener="#{Bean.onClickUpload}"/>
    </af:forEach>
    <af:commandLink text="Add more file" id="cl3" actionListener="#{Bean.onAddFile}"/>
    </af:column>
    </af:table>
    in Bean.onAddFile, I have:
    public void onAddFile(ActionEvent event){
    filecount++;
    It works but there's no independent control of each row. When I click one commandlink, All rows now have 2,3,.... af:inputFile. The change affects all rows.
    The requirement should be that when I click one commandlink in a row, only that row shows additional af:inputFile.
    So why not leverage the row variable of the table, right? That's what I did, I changed the end attribute of foreach to the following:
    <af:forEach step="1" begin="1"
    end="#{row.fileRowCount}">
    the backing bean method changed to the following:
    public void onAddFile(ActionEvent event){
    int filerowcount = (Integer)JsfUtil.resolveExpression("#{row.fileRowCount}");
    Integer newcount = filerowcount+1;
    JsfUtil.setExpressionValue("#{row.fileRowCount}", newcount.toString());
    Note that "row" refers to an object that has a int field called "filerowcount". And the initial value is "1".
    Just for testing, I also added <af:outputText value="row.filerowcount"/>, to see if the count is what I expected it to be.
    I didn't see the any af:inputfile this time, but the outtext is showing the filerowcount properly. When I click the commandlink, the number changed to 2,3,..... Also in the backing bean newcount and filerowcount is incrementing correctly.
    I know the begin, end attribute means the index of a for loop. So I changed begin="0", it now shows one row of af:inputfile, but when I click the commandlink, no additional rows are shown. (Although the outputtext of filerowcount keeps incrementing as expected.
    So to sum up, the END attribute of af:foreach row CAN pick up the value from the backing bean and render af:inputfile dynamically, but it CANNOT pick up the value from the the field in VAR object of a table.
    Is is a known issue? Or I did something by mistake.
    Is there any other way to add af:inputFile dynamically within each row of table?
    Any advice/comment is appreciated.

    Hi,
    here is how it goes:
    - add an af:inputFile to the column and set its rendered property to point to a managed bean property. The managed bean property has a default value of "false" and the bean should be in viewScope
    - create another variable that holds the row number that should show the inputFile component. This is updated by the command link and evaluated by the get method of the managed bean property controlling the inputFile visibility
    - Define a property name for the table varStatus property
    - For the command link, define a attribute f:attribute with the name rowNumber and set its value to #{varStatusPropertyName.index}
    - define an action listener for the command link
    public void showInputFile(ActionEvent actionEvent){
    int rowNumber = ((RichCommandLink) actionEvent.getSource()).getAttributes().get("varStatusPropertyName");
    //set the value on the internal variable
    - In the getter of the property that defines the render value of the inputFile, use code like this
    public boolean get<whatever name you use>(){
    //access the following EL from Java #{varStatusPropertyName.index}
    int currentRenderedRow = <EL result here>;
    // compare the current row index with the one set by the command link, which is stored in the variable of the managed bean
    if true return true
    else return false
    - Set the PartialTriggers property of the table to point to the commandLink ID so the table is repainted when the command link is pressed
    This should then render the fileInput component for a single row (the one you clicked the command link in)

  • CreateTextfield with dynamic height?

    Is it possible to use createTextfield with a fixed width, but
    without defining height, so that it will size according to the
    amount of text loaded into it from XML? I would like to do this so
    that I can get the _height property at runtime to use for custom
    scrolling of the text field. Thank you in advance!

    So, if I can't have dynamic height, (assuming no reply
    probably means "no" ;) ) I decided I would at least make it so the
    height can be defined from the XML file. I added an "h"= 300;
    attiribute to the node that contains the text in the XML file.
    Everything loads properly and traces just fine, but when I try to
    create the text field, nothing is there. I must have some wrong
    syntax or something,or perhaps I have to define a font differently.
    My font is in the library and linkage is set for exporting for
    actionscript. Could someone be so kind as to take a look and see if
    anything is obviously wrong? Thanks!

  • Dynamically adjust table row height based on data in column

    Hi all,
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 and have a requirement for a table to adjust the height of its rows depending on the data in the columns. One of the columns in the table is a rich text description field and I have the 'rows' property set to 13. This field could have twenty lines of text/images or just one. The users would like the page to show all twenty lines of text without having to scroll but the table has the same height for all the rows (that I set to 13) and provides a scroll bar when the data exceeds this size. My users do not like to scroll, and want the height of each row to be determined by the data in it. I looked at a few options and also did a search online, but was unable to find anything to fulfill this requirement. Do you know of how I could change the height of each row in the table so that it fits the data that it holds?
    I have an example of my table at: <b>Table with Set Row Height</b>
    As you see, the picture has to be scrolled so that the whole picture is visible. The user requirement is to adjust the row height to show the full picture. Ideally the next two rows would shrink, but that would be a nice to have.
    Thanks in advance for any pointers or help.

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for replying to my question, I truly appreciate your help.
    I tried to use the autoHeightRows to adjust the height of my rows but was unsuccessful. If I understand the autoHeightRows property correctly, this is used for setting the height of the whole table. If this is incorrect and it can be used for setting the height of individual rows in the table, please correct me. I have the 'Rows' property of the richTextEditor set to 13 and this is the height that I would like to make dynamic based on the data.
    My users requirement is for the height to be big enough for the data in each row of the table (the table has a description column and the height of each row should be determined by the data contained in it). I updated my <u><b>Screen Shot</b></u> to show the desired layout and what is currently being generated though ADF (http://www.flickr.com/photos/87583386@N05/) .
    I have three rows in the example (in actuality these are around 50) and the text in each row can vary. The users would like to see the full text/image in each row without having to scroll each row. Currently my table is within Panel Box, which is inside a PanelGroupLayout-Scroll which is in a PanelStretchLayout. I tried to put the table by itself with the autoHeightRow modifications you suggested but thsi did not help either. I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.
    Is this possible with an ADF Table? If it is, is the autoHeight property the only one that I am setting incorrectly? If not, is there another component I can use to get the desired functionality? My users are very strict about this requirement and will not accept the application without this.
    Thanks,

  • Dynamic Table - Add rows and columns in same table

    Hi there,
    I wonder if someone could help please? I'm trying to create and table where a user can add both rows and columns (preferably with separate buttons) but am having trouble trying to figure out how to do this. Is it possible? If so how? I'm not familar with script but have found examples of seprate tables where you can add a row and then another table where you can add columns and essentailly want to merge the two but cannot make it work.
    Any help much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ken

    It is great example....you can learn the concepts there and apply....however you may have to think twice before you implement column adding dynamically....because the technique here is make copy of what we already have and reproduce it as a new item and this technique works great for rows as they all have every thing in common. But when it comes to columns it may have unique visible identity as column head and displaying repeatedly the same column head may not look good. Of-Course you can do few extra lines of code and change the column appearance based on users input each time. Situations where users need to add additional column is very unlikely (sure your requirement might be an exception).
    Key in allowing adding/removing instances is managing design mode settings under Object>>Binding>>....and select the checkbox "Repeat <subform/row/...> for Each Data Item" and then set Min, Max and Initial count values.
    Also you need to club your effots by using simple scipt with button clicks....
    for the example refered in URL you posted following is what I did to make the first table allow Adding/Removing Rows....
    1. Opened the form in LC designer.
    2. Add two buttons AddRow & RemoveRow right next to RemoveColumn
    3. For AddRow I used following JS code....
          Table1._Row1.addInstance(1);//that means any time this button is clicked a new instance of Row1 is added use _Row2 or Row3 based on your needs
          var fVersion = new Number(xfa.host.version); // this will be a floating point number like "7.05"
          if (fVersion < 8.0) // do this for Acrobat versions earlier than 8.0
           // make sure that the new instance is properly rendered
           xfa.layout.relayout();
    4.  For RemoveRow I used following JS code....
         Table1._Row1.removeInstance(1);//Syntax is...<objectReference>.removeInstance(<index of the repeating object that needs to be removed>); //in this case since we used 1 alwasys second object from top gets deleted.
          var fVersion = new Number(xfa.host.version); // this will be a floating point number like "7.05"
          if (fVersion < 8.0) // do this for Acrobat versions earlier than 8.0
           // make sure that the new instance is properly rendered
           xfa.layout.relayout();
    5. Now time to update settings at Object>>Binding tab and set "Repeat......" and also set Min, Max and Initial count as explained above.
         Those settings needs to be updated for Row1 (or your choice of row) of the table
    6. Set the Height to Expand of the Subform, where the table is housed....  this is done under Layout pallet
    7. Save the PDF as dynamic template and verify the results...
    If you still run into issues I can send you copy that works on my machine, but you need send me an email at n_varma(AT)lycos.com
    Good luck,

  • Dynamically set maximum row count in Interactive Report

    Hi,
    Has anyone worked out a way of dynamically setting (e.g. via select list) the maximum row count value for an Interactive Report, taking into account issues with order by when the report is filtered. I'm aware of solutions like this: http://www.talkapex.com/2010/10/apex-reports-no-limit-downloads.html but as far as I can tell this doesn't work when the report is filtered and the IR is rewritten in the background. Data sets then become unreliable because they are reordered.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    You can do that with javascript
    gReport.search('SEARCH',100)the 100 you can replace for any number you like.I have a report with filter,sorting and groups and it is gives no problem there.
    any number means any number but not higher than the number you set at Maximum Rows Per Page.
    You probably can mix the solution from Martin and the above code.

  • Sap Script - putting dynamic height value in box command

    Hello All,
    In SAP scirpt I have to display a table which might have variable number of line items. So in box command I cannot mention the height statically.
    Is it possible to specify that dynamically like by using a variable and incrementing it every time the element is called from the loop?
    Thanks
    Indrajit

    no in SAP-SCRIPT this aint possible. But you could do this in an external perform, and have your incremented value back, tho since a external perform is beeing called from the form, the box statement might already have been interpreted.
    this again would mean that this way wouldnt work as well then.
