Dynamic iView Display in a Page

Hi Experts !
Help me displaying an iView on portal page dynamically based upon an event from another iView on the same page. Where both the iViews are developed using Web Dynpro ABAP.

If you're using java (Dynpage or WedDynpro), you could access the PCD and modify the page where your iview belongs :
you got the "base" iview visible, and all others iview are present, but set as invisible. Depending on the situation, your "base" iview can then modify the visibiliy of the others iview in the page. a link about it here : [Sap Library|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/6aaf92f5a23672e10000000a114a6b/content.htm]
Another possibility is to use eventing for the same effect, each iview waiting for a set of event, and displaying nothing if this is not the event that is supposed to make them appears.

Use WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute() or WDPortalNavigation.navigateRelative() method
to navigate to your respective iView.

Master page Dynamic data not getting displayed in consecutive pages

Hi,
   I have buit a dynamic form which has some dynamic content in master page and a dynamic table in the body page.
Layout is
Master page
      Sub form
             Field1 -TextView
             Field2 - TextField      bind with Node1--->Attribute1
             Field2- TextField       bind with Node2---->Attribute2
            Field n - TextField
all the text fields are bound to various nodes from RFC
Body Page
         Sub form
              Table -Grows Dynamically
When i run the application all the fields are displayed perfectly in the first page.
when the table data goes more than one page the problem arises
The Text fields in the master page is not displaying the values in the second page ,but the text views and the table values are fine.
The values are getting displayed in both pages if i put any attribute inside the parent node.Is there any property i need to set at node level or subform level?

Master Page is used for static content as per SAP and Adobe like company logo and company address footer section and placing watermarks etc....
I feel because of the Dynamic behavior in master page it Leeds this problem.

HR iViews are not getting displayed and showing "Page can not be found".

I am facing an issue in the EP 7 wherein all the standard HR iViews are not getting displayed and showing "Page can not be found".
We have added S_SERVICE autorisation object to user used for the relative JCO as well by looking at other similar forums but that did not help.

Hi,
This issue is now resolved. We followed up with SAP and they suggested to update the component EP-PSERV to latest patch which was earlier to patch 1. Later on we upgraded it to patch 4 and this resolved the issue.

Problem in displaying dynamic table placed in master page

I have placed a dynamic table in my master page. When the page overflows the dynamic table is shown only in 1st page. I want this table to be shown in every page. Please help me solve this.

Thank you all for your reply. But i cannot keep the table in body page as i want this table to be displayed in every page in the header. Actually i am displaying an address through this table.
I have moved the content area in master page to center and reduced its size and in the body page i have placed a table which will display the report. When this table overflows to next page all the contents in master page are shown except for the address table in master page. I am not sure whether i am doing it the right way as i am bit new to adobe forms.
Please let me know where am i going wrong. Also please suggest me some alternative method ( if any ) to display the address in every page if the above method is not feasible.

Some browser doesn't display the MW page correctly

after installing Maintenance Wizard 2.17, some browser doesn't display the MW page correctly, some menu function is missing. The display problem is not for everyone, some user's browser have no problem. Some user's IE are displaying it correctly. i.e. one user has both IE and firefox working, however, after she clear her java cache, both browser refuses to display the MW page correctly.
The resolution of PCs is set to the same value. however, the size of the text isn't. after changing the size of the text, some of our pc start to work. The display web page for MW doesn't show the right most menu item. After resize the screen, we find it is because of the blue frame for the MW page that stop to dynamical stretch up to 20 inches.
The menu item is been streched out of the blue frame, they are no longer displayable
any ideas?

We have the same problem.
And find it is caused by a combination of your screen resolution, font size and browser window size.
The blue frame that displays the Oracle Mainentance Wizard banner doesnt dynamical strech to the full window size.
After experiment with it, MW can display much better in our case.

Calling a Webdynpro Iview from a Web Page

Hi guys we are trying to display a custom webdynpro iview in a web page.
when the user clicks on a link on the left side navigation in the webpage it is supposed to open the webdynpro iview in an Iframe in the same window beside the left navigation area. but we are getting a warning message before the iview is opened.
an error occured while starting the iview Application/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/pb/PageBuilder:jsessionid=(J2EE3062800)ID484538950DB11873745832264248987END will run with a wrong client window ID!
and when we click on ok the iview is displayed in the IFrame
to open the iview we are using an URL of the format
http://<Server>:<Port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl://8bc08160d466f592c481da5639ca31e9&NavMode=3
can any one tell me why we are getting this message and how to remove it.

The iview is assigned to a portal role and we even have some authorisation objects assigned in R3, so only the users who have access to the role should be able to see the iview and the content they see in the iview is limited depending on the assigned authorisation objects.
if we use the link

every one will be able to access the iview and they will be able to see all the content.
when the user clicks on the link he should login with his id and password so that the authorisation objects are checked agaist his id. If we use the above link the user will be logged in with a test ID and the authorisation objects will not work.

Portal dynamic iView from Web Dynpro ABAP?

I wish to use a "Dynamic iView" from a Web Dynpro ABAP application, but it appears the API is only available in Web Dynpro Java. Can this feature be used from Web Dynpro ABAP, or can this be accomplished in another way?
Scenario: I have two iViews on a page, one Web Dynpro ABAP and another iView whose source I want to change dynamically based on something a user clicks in the Web Dynpro ABAP.

So you are suggesting the WDA fires an event to a new WDJ that we would need to create that would in turn use the Dynamic iView service mentioned in that help document?

I would advise you the following:
1. Put a valid and complete doctype on that page!
2. Get rid of the resize if NN4 javascript - it hasn't been needed for nearly a decade.
3. Fix your image code (note the missing space after "no"!
4. 1290px is way too wide unless you want lots of people scrolling right to see things.

Having trouble showing an Iview in a HTML page with frames format

Hi, I have a public webpage with 3 frames (top, navigation and content)
In the content part has to be showed a portal anonymous page.
I created the anonymous portal page that shows me a Webdynpro that I created, works fine. But when I put the link in the frame of the public webpage, is like the page entered in a loop and nothings is showed.
But if in the frame I put the direct Webdynpro link works fine but the Custom colors that I set in portal doesnt works (and this is important).
Any1 know how can I do to put an anonymous portal page inside a frame html without lossing the colors that I replace in the theme editor.

Portal Tabs - Dynamic Hide/Display

Hello:
We have a Portal Page Group with multiple TABS. We like to be able to display/hide (or enable/disable) tabs based on the Portal Roles assigned to the current user.
Is it possible to Hide/Display tabs dynamically based on certain conditions? What is the best way to enforce this without creating multiple page groups?

The only way I know to conditionally hide/show tabs is to grant access on each tab to one or more groups. The tab will then only be displayed on the page to logged-in user that is a member of a designated group for that tab. (Portal admins will be able to see all the tabs.) If there's another way to hide/show tabs based on other criteria - I'd like to know too! :-)

Assigning iViews to Roles without Pages

I have created several "SAP Transaction" iViews that rely on HTML GUI and would like to add these to my Portal. When I assign them to a page, and then add that page to a role, the iView height does not display automatically. The iView is only about 80 pixels high.
I have also tried assigning the iView directly to the role, and in this case it displays correctly.
Is there any purpose to using "Portal Pages" if an iView is the only content being displayed for that Top Level or Second Level navigation choice?
Are there any problems with assigning iViews directly to roles?

You are correct, this concept didn't exist in EP5. In EP6 a Page and an iView are basically the same object, which is why it doesn't matter which one you assign to a role. The other thing is that if you do use a page, then the pagebuilder tends to include a lot more resources into the output, which increases the size (and potentially time) of the page downloaded to the client. If you only have transactional iviews, then I would forget about the page. If you decided to try and use the pages, then the things that can cause this problem are: -
1) Domain of the iView is different to the domain of the portal and when the portal tries to re-size the page it can't access the size of the content and therefore can't resize it
2) I would check things like the maximum and minimum page size attributes on the page. They may have default values in an iView but not a page

I would like to customize the displaying of jsp page from backing bean based on user Roles
For example
- if the Role is Admin then backing bean should display Admin.jsp
- if the Role is Guest then backing bean should display Guest.jsp
Any pointers/suggestions will be highly appreciated

I wanna make it more Dynamic. In the sense
"Backing Beans should drive the rendering of first jsp page in the application " and not jsp page driving the backing bean or not to put some kind of hard coding in jsp page to see if its admin user then display certain set of UI Components or certain set of other UI components for other users.
As we have atleast 10 different Roles and there can be Composite Roles i.e. combination of two roles. In this case how does the Backing Bean drives the rendering of jsp page?
