Dynamic Navigation and ALV

Hello Masters,
    In my WebDynpro Abap program, I have Main view, Menu view and Display view. In Display view ALV is used to show the data. In normal navigation scenario, when a menu item is clicked, the Display is getting populated with the data into the ALV. But when i use dynamic navigation i can not see the ALV, i can see all other controls displayed on the View.
I am using do_dynamic_navigation, Any settings needed to get the ALV visible in my View.
Thanks in advance.
Murty.

Hi Murty,
I'm not sure why you don't it work for you, as it is working fine for me.
Check this code and confirm that are you missing anything in the dynamic navigation method.
data:
    l_api_main type ref to if_wd_view_controller.
  data: target_component_name type string,
        target_view_name      type string,
        source_plug_name      type string.
      target_view_name      = 'LOCAL_TEST'.
      source_plug_name      = 'OUT_PLUG6'.
  l_api_main = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
    try.
        l_api_main->do_dynamic_navigation(
            source_window_name        = 'MAIN'
            source_vusage_name        = 'MAIN_VIEW_USAGE_1'
            source_plug_name          = source_plug_name
            target_view_name          = target_view_name
            target_plug_name          = 'DEFAULT'
            target_embedding_position = 'MAIN_VIEW/VIEW_CONTAINER').
Hope this will help you.

  • Dynamic Navigation and Teamviewer

    We programed our own iviews in WebDynpro for using in manager selfservice.
    For changing between different employees, we assigned the standard SAP teamviewer as a dynamic navigation to the pages which include our WebDynpro iviews.
    This proceeding works well. For each iview we can change the employee we like to work on. But if we go to another WebDynpro application in the navigation path, the teamviewer is open in a new way. So the teamviewer lose the indicated employee by stepping from the first to the next application.
    But by using the standard manager role, the teamviewer hold the selected employee.
    How can I get this effect? Where can I find same information about this problem?

    Hi,
    Maybe it has to do with the isolation of the iView. By default (i guess) it is configured to be "embedded" on page, this will result in refreshing. Set the iViews to "URL" (and also set the highttype to "automatic").
    Otherwise it has to do with the navigation. Are u using the Light Portal Framework?
    If so it could be the case that the navigation is triggering a complete page refresh instead of only refreshing the content area..

  • Dynamic Tabstrip and Alv's

    Hi All,
    My requirement is like that dynamically i have to create tabstrip and in that each tab has Alv table to disply the data.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

    Hi,
    To dynamically include an ALV additionally, you would have to do the following:
    1. First declare the component usage for the ALV in your component, so that you can instantiate and use the ALV
    2. Within the tab, you will have to dynamically also create a viewcontainerUIelement dynamically (similar way as you have dynamically created the tabstrip) - try using CL_WD_VIEW_CONTAINER_UIELEMENT.
    3. You will have to dynamically embed the ALV component in viewcontainerUIelement created in (2). Try going thru
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/77/3545415ea6f523e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    4. Proceed with the ALV as usual.
    Hope this helps.

  • Employee Search in Dynamic Navigation does not update other iViews (FPM)

    Hi all,
    after selecting a person from Employee Search (MSS) we have to display corresponding data in a customer specific iView with help of selected person number.
    So I created a Floorplan Manager Application as described in https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/profile/how-toaddacustomWebDynproiViewtotheMSSEmployeeProfile%28ECC+6.0%29&
    If I use the SAP content page or create my own pages with corresponding Employee Search and customer specific iView, updating of data on the customer specific iView works. But if I add the Employee Search to Dynamic Navigation, the data is not updated in the customer specific iView.
    I didn´t find a solution in this forum. Does anybody know, if it is possible to add the Employee Search as Dynamic Navigation (with help of Floorplan Manager functionality) and update data in other iViews and how this works? Or is it possible to handle this in a different way, e.g. PortalEventing?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi,
    I also tried to use only iViews of 'General Information'  and added the employee search (team viewer) of the sap
    content page 'General Information' to the dynamic navigation, but the other SAP standard iViews of 'General Information' page are not updated, too.
    Does anybody know, if it is possible to add the employee search to dynamic navigation and to update the other iViews of 'General Information'? If yes, what properties have to be set? Are some settings for Floorplan Manager
    needed?
    Could anybody please give me a hint?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

  • Merging  Pages with Detailed & Dynamic navigation

    Hello experts,
    We are in an Federated Portal senario with a main portal (consumer) and two producer portal (Bi & xRPM).
    What I need to know is if it is possible to merge in a same page an xRPM page with dynamic navigation and a BI page with detailed navigation.
    Thanks in advance for your response.

    Hi David,
    Did you ever find an answer to this?
    We're currently trying to use the Remote Role Assignment with XRPM Portfolio Management.  It works fine if we just use the out of the box Portfolio Management Role.
    However, we're trying to use a custom role created on the producer and then merge it with another custom role on the consumer.  It starts out working fine until it attempts to redirect to content on the Portfolio Hidden workset.  Then it gives a runtime error.  Any help you could give would be great!
    Thanks,

  • ALV with dynamic columns and description labels in header titles

    Hi everybody,
    I have to implement an ALV whose columns are not defined until runtime. Is it possible to do that in some simple way? Is it necessary to use objects to define this kind of ALV's?
    And another one query, is it possible to add description labels to column headers so that when the user points with the cursor in them he/she gets a little explanation about the detail of the column (for example, description name of the product hierarchy when pointing to the column named with one of the existing hierarchies, i.e 010102102)
    Thanks in advance,

  • ALV report with dynamic columns, and repeated structure rows

    Hey Guys,
    I've done some ALV programming, but most of the reports were straight forward. This one is a little interesting. So here go the questions...
    Q1: Regarding Columns:
    What is the best way to code a report with columns being dynamic. This is one of the parameters the user is going to enter in his input.
    Q2: Regarding Rows:
    I want to repeat a structure(say it contains f1, f2, f3) multiple time in rows. What is the best way to do it? The labels for these fields have to appear in the first column.
    Below is the visual representation of the questions.

  • Dynamic navigation, on HCM Process and Forms "Web Dynpro FORM"

    Hi,
    I'm trying to solve an issue regarding dynamic navigation, on a enhacement done at the Web Dynpro ABAP QISR_UI component for HCM Process and Forms.
    I'm hiding the Adobe Form, and doing "do_dynamic_navigation" for a dynamic generated view container present at the VIEWSHOWFORM on the QISR_UI component.
    The code works great, i.e.: the Adobe Form remains hidden and the custom form, using Web Dynpro appears.
    I'm also using the HRASR00_PROCESS_EXECUTE_1 component to execute a Portal IView (Floorplan based component).
    When the process is started, and the folowing actions are executed:
    1- Select Employee
    2- Select Process
    3- Edit form
    4- Press back (for example if the wrong process is selected)
    5- Select the Process
    6- Edit form again

    Regards

    Hello,
    Basically what I did was replacing the Adobe Form, by a Web Dynpro component that contains its own form, and associated logic.
    Tecnically the steps to acomplish the task were:
    1º Development of a component for showing a form. ( I suggest you to start with just a "hello world" or something very basic )
    2º Enhance the QISR_UI component (VIEWSHOWFORM view, on the modify view method), something like
    if form scenario = XXXXX then
    hide the adobe form;
    create a custom view container (the problem I had above), and create an instance of the component created on step 1
    end if
    3º Access the context that the original form returns (you can check the context debugging the VIEWSHORFORM view )
    4º Pass the context to the component created..
    I can't provide further details on this, I'm sorry...
    I do not suggest doing this, this was a requirement so I had to do it... But this requires a lot of workarrounds, and lots of small changes in standard code related with process and forms... It's not, also, a "clean" solution
    Regards,
    Joã

    Hello Sir,
    If you haven't made it at this point, this is indeed done via the Home Page Framework via the backend on the following IMG PATH:
    > Cross-Application Components
      >  Homepage Framework
    1. You make a resource available via the Role (via PCD)
    2. You customize every other part as a cascade:
    Define Area group / Headers
      -> Define Areas / Assign Area to Area Group
         -> Define Subareas / Assign subarea to Area
             -> Define Services / Assign Services to Subarea.
    Hope I have clarified.

  • WDA dynamic navigation

    Hello everyone
    I am currently creating a componet for displaying detailed information for diffentent plants.
    On the leftside i have an ALV-List of different plants and right an Info-Component displaying detailed information for the selected plant. The Info-Component contains a Tab-Strip which is dynamicly created in dependence of the selected plant.
    I have many different Info-Item-Components (basic_data, measurements, packing_details, addition_notes, etc.) which all implement the same Interface (all of them are Info_Items) and a customizing that defines which of these components are relevant for a specific plant.
    If a plant is selected, my Info-Component determines the relevant Info-Item-Components for the plant, creates component usages for the Info-Item-Components and creates a Tab with a view-Container for each ComponentUsage. If there are no InfoItems defined for a Plant a default Tab ist displayed.

    Plant A selected -> Tab_Strip with 2 Tabs which contain the components (basic_data and measurements);
    Plant B selected -> Tab Strip shows only one Tab (packingdetails)
    Plant C selected -> Tab_Strip with 4 Tabs which contain the components (basic_data, measurements,  packing_details, ...)
    My problem is the following:
    The Interfacecontroller of my Info-Component has a method init_for_plan, in which i determine all relevant InfoItems for the plant and create the component usages.
    The WDDOMODYFIEVIEW-Method of the only view (V_MAIN) creates the corresponding tabs and view_container of the tabstrip and prepares the dynamic navigation links to the embedded components.
    But I can't navigate along the created navigation links in the WDDOMODYFIYVIEW (Link: [WDA Phasemodel|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/de/49/b8c706c7c26d7ce10000000a421937/content.htm]) and i can't do the navigation in the Componentcontroller because there i can't get a to the necessary controller; also navigation after WDDOMODYFIYVIEW is not possible, is it?(WDDOPOSTPROCESSING)
    Where do I have to embed the dynamicly created component useages into there corresponding view_containers to display them correctly?
    Kind regards
    Markus

    When you click on Plant,
    As there is a default tab already avaiable, in the WDOINIT of view or before Modifyview create the component usage of the componet that needs to be displayed in 1st/default tab and fire the plug. also create teh number of tabs required in modiyfview when 1st component is embdedded.
    In the TAB click event, embded the respective component (do_dynamic_navigation ) and fire the plug in tab click event.

  • Would you please summarize what the difference between tc and alv?

    hi, experts,
      would you please summarize what the difference between table control and alv base on the function and usage practice.
    for example, as i know:
    1.edit
      tc: can edit in the same screen and save.
      alv: pop up a sub screen to let user edit, so this is unconvenient.
    2.functional button
      alv: can have many functional button as default ,eg. sort, summary and so on
      tc:  developers must implements by himself.
    3.color
      alv: can have and change color
      tc:  cann't changed color
    some client may required the data displayed in alv and edit in tc ,such as example BCALV_EDIT_02.
    above are my idea, experts, would you give me some comments on my opinion and summarize what the difference between those two components? i should make it clear in order to consult the UI with my client.hunger for your advice, thanks!

    ALV Grid is basically used for display puropse. It is more user friendly. There are arious features ( such as coloring, sorting, saving to a local file, sedning by mail etc. ) These featurs make ALV Grid a very good option to display the data .
    However , the table control is not only used to display data take from the database table, but also you can do operation such as deletion of data from database table, insertion of data into the database table and updation also. Yeah it has not got the various features whihc ALV has.
    So table control and ALV Grid , if you are just using for display purpose, then ALV Grid is a better option due to its layout and attractive features. But if you want to do the database operations other than display, table control can be used.
    As far as execution is concerned, I think ALV Grid is faster.
    ALV grid control is faster when compared to Table control. But the comaprision is Negligible .
    One of the major differences comes in taking of line items - ALV has an advantage over Table Control when it comes to update database from it.Table control only allows maximum of 999 records at a time where as this limitation is not there in ALV.
    Also,a main feature of ALV Grid is that it contains a standard set of functions. These functions extend beyond the functions of a table control.
    These two UI elements require different keyboard navigation, with ALV Grid being more user-friendly.
    An application can display table data in ALV Grid or in a table control. In some applications you can choose between displaying and editing data in either ALV Grid or a table control. If a configurable button () appears in the right upper corner of the table, it is a table control.
    Basically ALV is a way to display the output and Table Control is designed in screen painter through which you can get entries in Table Control, can delete some records etc for further processing and its not use only for Display.
    ALV is Application List viewer:-
    Sap provides a set of ALV (ABAP LIST VIEWER) function modules which can be put into use to embellish the output of a report. This set of ALV functions is used to enhance the readability and functionality of any report output. Cases arise in sap when the output of a report contains columns extending more than 255 characters in length.
    In such cases, this set of ALV functions can help choose selected columns and arrange the different columns from a report output and also save different variants for report display. This is a very efficient tool for dynamically sorting and arranging the columns from a report output.
    TABLE CONTROL:-
    ABAP offers two mechanisms for displaying and using table data in a screen. These mechanisms are table controls and step loops. Table controls and step loops are types of screen tables you can add to a screen in the Screen Painter.

  • Set Data from a Dynamic Context in ALV

    Hi,
    I've created an dynamic context and have binded the data. When I want to show this data in an dynamicly table with the following code, it works well.
    cl_wd_dynamic_tool=>create_table_from_node( EXPORTING ui_parent      = lo_container
                                                              table_id       = 'DYN_ML_TABLE'
                                                              node           = lo_nd_dyn_ml
                                                    RECEIVING table          = lo_table ).
    Unfortunately when I want to show the context data in an ALV table with the method set_data I will see the structure, but the binded data are lost.
    lo_comp_alv = wd_this->wd_cpuse_usage_alv_dyn_ml( ).
      IF lo_comp_alv->has_active_component( ) IS INITIAL.
        lo_comp_alv->create_component( ).
      ENDIF.
      lo_comp_if_alv = wd_this->wd_cpifc_usage_alv_dyn_ml( ).
      lo_comp_if_alv->set_data( lo_nd_dyn_ml ).
    I've tested an manually created context node with this method, and I will see the data.
    Could anybody help me?

  • Portal Runtime Error in Dynamic Navigation Area

    Hello gurus,
    In our production portal all of sudden we are getting a portal runtime error in Dynamic Navigation Area.  Earlier there was a problem with one of the clustered nodes and it was resolved.  I was wondering if this error is in connection with that.  Has anybody faced such problem?  Following is the error we are facing in the dynamic navigation area.
    <b>Portal Runtime Error
    An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : pcd:portal_content/fenderfolder/defaultDesktop/frameworkPages/frameworkpage/com.sap.portal.innerpage/com.sap.portal.dynamicNavigationArea
    Component Name : com.sap.portal.navigation.dynnavarea.DynamicNavigationArea</b>
    Please advice on how to resolve the issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    VR.

    Hello all again,
    We are not getting this Dynamic Navigation Error on ONE of the clustered nodes and all other clustered nodes are working fine.
    Any idea how to resolve the issue?
    Thanks in advance.

  • WD Java iView & Dynamic Navigation Problem

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use a WebDynpro Java iView in Dynamic Navigation but have the following display problem:
    When I navigate to the page for which I've added the iView to the dynamic navigation, only the WebDynpro iView (from the navigation) is shown. You can see the page in its correct form being loaded but as soon as the navigation iView seems to be loaded/ing it replaces the full lower part of the screen (navigation and content panel).
    If I use a plain URL iView in the dynamic navigation the behaviour is as expected.
    But if I add a WebDynpro iView or even a page containing that iView I get the strange behaviour again.
    I'm running NW04s SP7.
    Any ideas?
    Do I have to set some properties on the WebDynpro iView?
    I've tried a couple of things but none did work so far.
    Thanks & Regards
    Markus

    Hi Henrik,
    Sorry for the late reply but I'm just back from vacation.
    No, I have not found a solution. I decided to go for an integrated application instead (Main WD application that bundles navigation with other applications). That works but of course is not as "nice".
    Have you come across some solution yet?
    Kind Regards
    Markus
