Dynamic scrap praposal - Incremental scrap

Hi all,
We are going to implement scrap functionality in one our project. In that project client requirement is dynamic proposal of scrap based on the quantity. We need this scrap praposal prefferably at assembly scrap level.
For exampl: 0 - 1000 order qty. -
10% scrap
                   1001 - 10000 order qty -
8% scrap
                   10001 - 100000 order qty  -
5% scrap.
To get the above functionality what needs to be done.
Thanks & Regards,
Lovith

I don't see how to fit the assembly scrap in scale as per your requirement in standard SAP.  Even the enhancement, there are going to be many.  Since the assembly scrap percentage is actually linked to several area of applications, such as costing (std. cost estimate), MRP run, and production order creation.
One work around is to apply the component scrap instead.  Calculate backward from assembly scrap to component scrap.  Use several BOMs and put in percentage in BOM master.  Use production version to fit with your lot size.  As this is per standard, therefore the costing, MRP, and order should be handled properly.  Of course the drawbacks are you have to calculated backward from assembly to component scrap and also your BOM master will be increased.
If you wanna go for the enhancement, you need
- BADI MD_MRP_PARAMETERS in MRP run.
- BADI WORK_ORDER_UPDATE in production order creation (if you always convert from planned order, then you can adopt the scrap from the MRP Badi.  But in case you create production order manually, you will need this BADI).
- For costing run, just pick one assembly scrap % that will reflect in std cost estimate and put in material master.
Hope it helps.

  • Scrap Register in CIN ?

    Hello All,
We use R/3 4.7 with CIN - Country India Version; SAP_APPL Support Pack Version 27.
In our manufacturing operations, some scrap is generated. We sell this scrap.
Is there any register (report) in SAP-CIN, which will give us Scrap Register. Scrap Register is a statutory requirement, like RG-1, RG-23 etc.
    Thanks and Regards,

Scrap sale is a part of RG1 register. No separate register is required for the same.

  • Scrap sales

Can any buddy let me know how do we configure Scrap sales in SD and what is the goods movement type for quality to scrap?
    Mail id : [email protected]

    Hi,
<b>Scrap can be of following types:</b>
    1. Scrap generated from manufacturing.
    2. stationary scrap
    3. Items rejected while manufacturing which are beyond any repair.
    4. Used coolant oil, coton waste, packing material which is not worth using.
    etc.
How can scrap come from quality department directly. Any finished goods item rejected in qualtity and which is beyond repair is sent to the scrap yard as scrap. Also in the factory scrap is generated at various work centres.
Any hazardous waste before being disposed off is checked for the toxicity but this is different from quality. If the raw material is costly or of higher grade, the quality of the scrap being generated can fetch you more money.
    <b>Configuration:</b>
Scrap also generates revenue for the company. So we sell it and for selling you need to have a finished product, In MM01 create material for scrap, use material type as "FERT" - in MRP screen use MRP type as "ND-No Planning". There will be some costing factors related with scrap also. Save the material.
    <b>Pricing:</b>
As per rule the only difference in scrap sales is a new condition type called as "TCS - tax collected at source". I think the rate for this tax is "1.133" or may be it differs also. You will have to add this condition type in the pricing procedure for scrap sales. In VK11 you have to mantain the condition records for this material also.

  • How to handle scrap occured during processing

    Hi all,
I am facing problem with handling the scrap occured during processing. The case here is i want to scrap the material eg ABC, and want to sell the same material with different material no., unit of measurement.
The present process is as below,
The scrap occured during process is been collected & is scraped using Tcode MB1A, with movement type 551 or is added in the scrap feild during confirmation CO15. As per my knowledge this scrap is accounted against the costcenter and then it is out of the system. Now in order to sell the scrap the same scrap with new material no.is loaded back in the system using movement type 501. The same is been sold.
Requirement is that i want the link between the scrap & the scrap been sold.
Want to avoid movement 551 & 501, which is in practice rt now.
The same process is followed from past 5 months. So we cant go with the option of Byproduct / phantom assembly as we need to change all master data.
Can some one suggest me how to go about it, its urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Regards,
    Arun

we will take a simple scenario - decide if this helps you
    1. Input RM1 and RM2 (both rawmaterials to produce a finished goods(fg))
       FG1
    2. Now one scrap is produced -wecan call it as SC1
    3. your bom shoudl have positive entries for the RM1 ,RM2 -which will be consumed during the production confirmation
    4. the SC1 the scrap material needs to have a negateive qty in the BOM which will be getting produced with 531 movement type
    5. so this scrap will be avilable in scrap and the same can be sold and processed futher
this is one of the best practiices if
    a. know what qty of scrap willbe produced
    b. if we have diffeent material number for scrap ..
In another case if u need to sell the same material then keep the same material with the negative qty in the bom so the same material will be produced with 531 mvt type.
    Thansk and regards..

  • Assembly, component + operation scrap

    Dear All,
[I raised this issue on MM board and I was advised to come here. Maybe you can help me.]
I haven't got experience in SAP, that's why I'd like to ask for your help in this issue.
Could you highlight/explain how these work?
(effects on MRP run + behaviour when booking against PrdOrd; e.g. when I book against PrdOrd what will be the movement types?)
    thx

    Hi,
      Assembly scrap:
Assembly scrap takes into account all the faults that occur when the
                  components are put into assembly.
The system automatically increases the qty to be produced by the
                   percentage of scrap.
can be maintained in MRP 1 View as a percentage
                  Reqd qty   100 pcs
                  Assembly scrap 10 %
After taking scrap reqd qty is 110 pcs
       Component scrap:
Component scrap takes into account all the faults that occur before the
                  components are built into assembly.
Can be maintened in MRP 4 view if the scrap is going to be for all boms
can also be maintened in BOM item detail screen if the scrap is for
                  particular Bom .
                  Reqd qty 100 pcs
                  Assembly scrap 10%
                  component scrap 10 %
Reqd qty            121 pcs of components
    Operation scrap :
Befor high value components are built into assembly the system carries
quality control check for the assembly.Faulty materials that were taken into account in assembly scrap aren ot passed on to the next operation and hence they are removed.
Maintain the operation scrap in the BOM item details screen under general data /qty data.
Qty to be produced 1000 pcs
                Assembly scrap     10 %
      component scrap  no entry
      net indicator not set
      scrap qty 100 pcs
qty to be produced 1000 pcs
               Assembly scrap     10 %
               operation scrap 1 %
               net indicator set
                scrap qty              10pcs.

  • Scrapping of material

    Hi,
We have a requirement of scrapping the material from the services of an external vendor. The vendor will scrap the material and will charge for the services for the scrapping. The material has to be sent to the vendor for scrapping in SAP. The scrapped material will not taken back by the company. How can the above scenario will be mapped in SAP.
    Thanks,
    Mohit Sehgal

    Hi,
    1. MM01 - Create Scrap Material as Non-Valuated Material (UNBW Material Type)
    2. MIGO - Goods Receipt > Others (Receive the quantities of Scrap material using Movement Type 552)
    3. MIGO - Goods Issue > Others (Issue the quantities of Scrap material to Scrap Vendor using Movement Type 502)
    4. MB90 - Take Print out of this Material Doc as Non-Returnable Gate Pass (U need to configure Message Determination of Inventory Mgmt)
Now follow the Service Process Cycle
    1. ME21N - Create Service PO on Service Vendor for Scrapping Charges (With Item Category D and Account Assignment Category K )
    2. ML81N - Create Service Entry Sheet w.r.t. Service PO
    3. MIRO - LIV for Service Charges w.r.t. Service PO or Service Entry Sheet

  • Planning of subcontracting materials with scrap percentage

    Hi All,
Need your help for below mention scenario,
For planning, where my planning is start with subcontracting materials.
To clarify more, strategy group is defined in subcontracting materials. Now when I entering Assembly scrap or Component scrap in material master or BOM, system is not considering this scrap percentage for planning.
when i defining scrap percentage with procurement type, E (Inhouse Production) or X ( Both) system is considering scrap percentage. But for external like F or X with special procurement 30 (Subcontracting) its not considering the scrap percentage.
Please suggest, how I can plan subcontracting materials with scrap percentage.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Jejesh,
    Thanx for reply.
This scrap is required for subcontracting materials.
    Setting in material master,
In MRP 1 and MRP 4 view- Define scrap as Assembly and Component scrap as per the requirement.
    Procurement key - F or X
Special Procurement key - 30 (Subcontracting)
Strategy group- 40 (Planning with final assy) in MRP 4 view.
    Bill of Material setting,
Component scrap and Operation Scrap in Bill of material.
Based on above master data, Plan Independent Requirement (PIR)  cration for above materials and MRP Run.
Here after mrp run based on above setting, scrap percentage is not considered. Plz suggest the solution.
    Regds,
    Rajesh

  • Confirmation in co11 with scrap

    Hi,

they want enter scrap qty in confirmation and scrap material qty in 531 there itself
whether we can enter it in Goods movement screen in co11????
    thanks in advance

    hi
    thanx for reply
while doing confirmation i entered yield qty 44 nos scrap qty as 1 nos
and i click goods movement tab .
there i entered my scrap material and qty 3.2 kg and 531 mvt and scrap storage location (manually)
then i save the confirmation. system post the scrap material to scrap storage location.
instead of doing this one in Mb1c. im doing in co11 for particular operation.
    whether it is advisable ??

  • REM Backflush Scrap

    Hello!!
I have a question on how the scrap is posted in MFBF transaction.
If we make 1000 units of a finished goods and 100 of them are scrap. In the MFBF transaction we can do the backflush for 1000 units first, this will leave 1000 units of finished good inventory and also system goods issues the finished goods BOM components. Then when i go in to record scrap for 100 units, system is only goods issuing on the BOM components and it is not reducing the finished good inventory by 100. How to handle this? We want to see 900 units in the finished good inventory.
Bottom line is, business wants to know both the gross units and the scrap for the finished goods.
Also, there is only one scrap movement 551 defined in the MFBF transaction, is there a way to have multiple scrap movements. We wanted to track multiple scraps with different movements depending on when it occurs during the production cycle.
    Thank you in advance...

    Hello,
You can maintain operation scrap, component scrap or assembly scrap and capture the extra goods movement. But this will increase consumption of materials where scrap is maintained. And you get report in terms of the total value (amount) but not in quantity.
What you can do is maintain scrap as one more material in BOM of FG with negative quantity. as by product.
When you backflush, system will list all materials being consumed along with scrap quantity calcuated with reff. to BOM quantity and total FG production qunatity. If you feel that scrap generated is different then you can change the quantity also here. You can define different store location to recieve the scrap quantity.
For Scrap movement type is 551 which is used in REM Profile.
    Hope the information is useful
    regards

  • Scrap Confirmed in Production Order

    Hi,
    I have a doubt.
While confirming the production order, the PP fellow confirms scrap say 2 in 100 production order quantity.
Now what happens to this quantity. Where can I track this in Material Quantity.
Further, what happens to the cost relevant to this material. Where does it get posted.
Presently, I am not able to trace the cost related to the scrap.
    Please suggest

    Hi!
if scrap( finished product scrap) is given in production order , the scrap cost will be accrued to production order and shown as variance.
    For example:
You have planned for 5 finished products and scrap is 2 finished products.
By assuming 5 finished products, you have issued raw material quantity( 1 RM for 1 FP) and activity quantity to be performed.
    then Goods rceipt will be :  3 * Rs. 100 =  Rs.300
    Goods issue will be : 15 Rs 100 = Rs.500
    Activity cost :                            = Rs.50
So your total input cost is:  Rs.550
    and goods receipt  is Rs.300
so Variance will be include extra raw material consumed i.e 2*Rs.100=Rs.200 ( note here i have taken both RM and FP at same cost).
You can see all the details in transaction code : COOIS ( if required you have to change the layout).

  • Using BOM scrap in T-Code CS15

When exploding a BOM via CS11 or CS12, it is possible to use the Scrap indicator stating that when the component quantity is calculated, scrap is taken into account.
How is it possible to have similar functionality when using Where-used list u2013 CS15, taking scrap also into account, since no Scrap indicator apparently exists there?

For the materials in the where used list, input into SE11 into MARC table,
it should be able to provide the scrap quantity
    Assembly Scrap:
    table: marc
    field name: ausss
    Field Scrap
    Table: MARC
    Field Name:KAUSF
Else you can make a custom report for the client in SQVI, by summing
MARA, MARC & MAST - Where it will provide with the required information of
    scrap

  • How to capture cost of Inhouse Production Scrap to the Product?

We follow REM Backflushing to carry out goods issue, goods receipt and actual activities capture .
If I do Assembly scrap, component scrap or Activity Scrap through MFBF.How can I differentiate the consumption or Activity booked account of scrapping in Product Cost collector. My requirement is clear demarcation of how much quantity of material A is consumed for good Finished products and how much quantity consumed for  scrapped or Bad Finished Product
At the time of scrapping ,Production Persons are not able to relate to the Finished Product?
What is the process followed universally to handle In process Rejections or Process Scrap?

  • EWM Scrapping after quality inspection

    Hi guys,
I'm trying to work out a scenario in EWM but I'm not sure how the standard process should work, hopefully you can help.
I'm receiving a returns shipment in my warehouse. After Goods Receipt, I transfer the goods to my quality inspection area using POSC. Here, I enter the inspection result via /SCWM/QINSP. Depending on the inspection result, the follow-up task is determined.
The current behaviour is as described below:
    1. If the product is OK, it can be putawayed via the already exising warehouse task.
    2. If the result is not OK, the product needs to be scrapped. Currently, EWM creates a Warehouse Task to my putaway storage type, and assigns stock type S5 (Scrapping from Putaway) to the product. When I confirm this Warehouse Task, the stock is moved to the putaway area and the stock type is changed to S6 (Scrapping from Warehouse).
Is this correct behaviour? I would actually expect that the scrapped stock would be moved to the scrapping area (storage type 8040), and not to the putaway area...
    Thanks & regards,
    Oliver

    Hi Juergen,
The Warehouse Process Type for decision "not ok" (Follow-up action D - Scrapping) is 4020 (Scrap).
The Destination storage type / bin for this whse process type are 8040 / SCRAP-ZONE.
As far as I can see, this is correct, right?
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    Oliver

  • SCRAP In COR6N

    Hello Experts,
We have one scenario like this we are doing destructive testing for one material to do the same and to capture the actual timings it is mapped through process order. When we do process order confirmation in COR6N there is no yield. All materials issued to the order is scraped.
    Question
Can I input that whole scrap qty in scrap field? In this case what are all the effects to the system in terms of cost? Is that scrap cost settled against that process order?
    Thanks in advance
    Ganesh

    Hi ,
Can any one clarify my doubt please?
Say for e.g. we have order qty as 100 and yield confirm as 90 and 10 qty as scrap in confirmation screen COR6N.
In this case if we enter the scrap qty in confirmation then we have to do the 551 (GI for scrap) in MIGO, Goods issue, others? Is this step is compulsory or we can just enter scrap qty in confirmation COR6N?
Please let me know on this. Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Ganesh
