Planning of subcontracting materials with scrap percentage

Hi All,
Need your help for below mention scenario,
For planning, where my planning is start with subcontracting materials.
To clarify more, strategy group is defined in subcontracting materials. Now when I entering Assembly scrap or Component scrap in material master or BOM, system is not considering this scrap percentage for planning.
when i defining scrap percentage with procurement type, E (Inhouse Production) or X ( Both) system is considering scrap percentage. But for external like F or X with special procurement 30 (Subcontracting) its not considering the scrap percentage.
Please suggest, how I can plan subcontracting materials with scrap percentage.
Regards,
Rajesh

Hi Jejesh,
Thanx for reply.
This scrap is required for subcontracting materials.
Setting in material master,
In MRP 1 and MRP 4 view- Define scrap as Assembly and Component scrap as per the requirement.
Procurement key - F or X
Special Procurement key - 30 (Subcontracting)
Strategy group- 40 (Planning with final assy) in MRP 4 view.
Bill of Material setting,
Component scrap and Operation Scrap in Bill of material.
Based on above master data, Plan Independent Requirement (PIR)  cration for above materials and MRP Run.
Here after mrp run based on above setting, scrap percentage is not considered. Plz suggest the solution.

Rajesh

  • Subcontracting Issue with scrap

    Hi,
Can you please give your inputs on this issue related to Subcontracting Scrap recovery process.
    1. The movement specified does not indicate how the material is being Costed (545 MVMT Type)
You have to create a separate material for scrap with material type ZSCR and through that you have to do the costing.
    2. The scrap is being generated at vendors end and is brought only at Month end not at the end of every consignment.
There is no other solution for this and the scrap will be updated through MVMT type 545 when you post the GR document otherwise you have to post the GR at the month end.
    3. If standards are defined for scrap - how do we account the Recoverable scrap and non recoverable scrap?     Also how the same has to be costed at month end?
    4. Incase  of under /overrecovery of scrap ..? how do we account them?
    Thanks,
    Kiran Bodla

    Hi
In SAP, If you say scrap the material will evaporate from stock. You cannot track how many KG of scrap generated. So Some clients, users create a material code called scrap and maintain that in BOM with -ve qty.
So that during GR of subcontract PO, using movement type scrap material with qty gets generated in vendor's place with movement type 545. Then it can be brought to company by movemen type 542. then can be soled also
So at any point of time you can find how much scrap you have in orgnaization (MBLB for vendor stock, MMBE for SL stock.

  • Subcontracting challan issue for end product with scrap.

    Hi All,
I have one issue let me know how the system act in case of subcontracting challan process,
In our company we use one component and received two end product( one is final product and other one is scrap product)
My problem is how to treat this scrap in challan process.
    Pl help me out.
    Regards,
    Zafina

Hi, Please use the exit to define how you want the system to consider Scrap in the subcontracting process.
Refer below exit for your problem,
1084323 USER-EXIT to update challan status if scrap is calculated
1103537 Correction to note 1084323 for ECC 6.0 Release
Please note the user exit will be accessed only if you were to write a code for it and you assigned/made 545 O as relevant to subcontracting
subcontracting scrap will work if the scrap percentage is defined for the component which is sent to the job worker. If you have a completely new material for scrap then this is not going to work as the system will never be able to assign the qty (mismatch of material code between the scrap material & the challan material).

  • With Scrap during planning, without Scrap during execution/backflush

    Dear Experts,
We need to setup our process in such a way, during planning, raw material scrap percentage are considered (for buffer quantity), while during backflush/consumption, this scrap % should not be considered.
    How to set up?
    Thanks in advance!

    Dear Manoj,
In my understanding defining component scrap will be generally considered for planning and consumption.
But in the case of REM - repetitive manufacturing this extra consumption for the % scrap defined can be excluded during
backflush, but in the case of discrete check by some enhancement whether this can be met.

  • Production tolerance / scrap percentage

    Hi all,
I have a question about tolerances in production order.
My production is a MTO (Make to order production) where for each position sale order the MRP proposes once planned order.
For example: In sale order I have an item for 100 pc.
After MRP run the system proposes a planned order for 100 pc (I haven't scrap percentage).
I convert the panned order in production order with five operations.
During the physical production I confirm, for the 1st and 2nd operation, 100 pc but during the 3rd operation I produce only 95 pc and I set the "final confirmation".
After the 2nd MRP run the system proposes a new planned order for 5 pc (100pc-95pc).
Can I set in the system (in customizing, in material master, etc.) tolerances limit for to avoid new planned order generation?
    Please, help me!
    Thank you in advanced.

    Hi Abhay
In standard system, as soon as asset master is saved, then it's not possible to change sub-number's master data via changing main number mastre data because either main number and sub number are individual asset.
the possible way to realize your expectation is to use mass change combining a substitution of field 'scrap value' via T-cd:AR01.
    Hope it's helpful.

  • How to ship back subcontracting materials from vendors to company .

    Hi
Our client is delivering subcontracting materials  to vendors  using  ME2O transaction .
She is asking me how can I  ship back materials  from vendors to company .
    Example :
Shipped 236.C from  company  to vendor .
Now we need to ship back 236.K from vendor  to  company .
Could you  brief  me T codes to be used and entire process in step by step .
    Thanks In Advance

    hi jaya
check whether these points will help you
    Item category: L
    Order type: NB
In info record vendor should be maintained as subcontractor.
Vendor (Subcontractor) receives the components used to manufacture a finished product directly from your company or through third party.
Your company should place a purchase order for the finished product.   In this manually you can enter the required individual components or it can be determined via the explosion of BOM (if exists).
Stock check at vendor level: ME2O
    Company stock check: MMBE
GR for individual components through movement type: 501 or 561 (if with out PO or without reference).
GI to subcontracting vendor: through movement type 541.
GR from sub contracting vendor: through movement type: 101
Movement type 543 is displayed to cancel the material cost account.
If the subcontracting order has to be generated through materials planning, the special procurement key has to be set in MRP 2 screen.

  • SubContract Process with Excise Flow

    Hello All,
Can anyone please explain me in Detail Subcontract Process with Excise flow considering these...
    1. Subcontracting without payment of Excise duty
    2. Subcontracting under full payment of Excise duty
and if scrap is to generate under process. So how to maintain that in PO.  and Later how to reconcile that in Excise flow..
I will be very thankful if anyone help me ...
    Abhinay....

    hi,
    SUBCONTRACTING:
    To create Subcontracting challan:
J1IF01 - Creating sub contracting Chelan
    J1IFQ - Reconciliation for Chelan
J1IF13 - after receiving all items
    Subcontracting without Payment of Duty
    Creation of Subcontracting PO (ME21N)
Transfer Posting of Components to Subcontractor (Mvmt Type - 541) (MB1B/ME2O/MIGO)
Creation of Subcontracting Challan w.r.t. Transfer Posting Doc (J1IF01)
    Goods Receipt w.r.t. Subcontracting PO and Refer Subcontracting Challan at the time of GR (MIGO) {GR with 101 and auto consumption of components with 543 movement}
    Reconciliation of Subcontracting Challan (J1IFQ)
    Completion of Subcontracting Challan (J1IF13)
    Generation of Annexure IV (J1IFR)
Note: - In this case, you have to maintain the Assessable Value for the Components to be supplied to Vendor in J1ID and also Excise Tax rates for the Chapter IDs linked with these components. So during J1IF01, system will take the Assessable Value as Excise base Value and calculates the Excise Duties by taking Excise Tax Rates.
Subcontracting under Full Payment of Duty
    Creation of Subcontracting PO (ME21N)
Transfer Posting of Components to Subcontractor (MB1B/ME2O/MIGO)
Creation of Outgoing Excise Invoice w.r.t. Transfer Posting Document (J1IS) - Used to send the components to Subcontractor's. Here 57F4 Challan is not created.
    Master Data
MM01- Material Masters for Components and FG
    XK01 - Vendor Master (Subcontractor)
    CS01 - BOM for FG
ME11 - Purchase Inforecord for Subcontracting

  • Inspection plan for all materials GOODS Receipt

    Hi qm experts,
I have a scenario. How could I make an inspection plan which covers all materials with variable base unit of measure. Its because my client is using winlims for their results recording. I want to create only one inspection plan to incorporate all materials for assignment, how could I make this one. I hope anybody could answer my question.
    Regards,

    QM Consultant

    Hi,
Say u have different materials with different base unit of measure ( kg / ltr / ea / pc /  --- -
etc ) And u have assigned all these material in qulity plan having only one unit of measure (say mm )for characterisrics then there is absolutely no need to maintain conversion rule for all these
Beacuse base unit of measure is different and unit of measure is different .
Note Conversion rule is only required if ur using alterenate base unit of measure

  • What is BOM scrap percentage?

Is there a good description of what Component scrap (%) and Operation scrap in % do when set in CS02.  What areas do these values affect?

    Hi Strat,
    Example from SAP Help...
    Bill of material:
    Assembly MAT-1:
    Required quantity 100 pieces
    Assembly scrap 2%
    Component MAT-2:
    Component quantity 100 pieces (For making MAT-1 , 1 piece. MAT-2 100 pieces req)
Depending on the applicable scrap and the net indicator, the following 6 quantities are required for component MAT-2 for a required quantity of 100 pieces of MAT-1:
    ................    1..........2..........3..........    4.........5.........6
    Comp.........5%........-..........5%.........   5%........-.........-
    Op...........6%........6%..........-............-..........-.........-
    Net ind......X..........X...........X............-..........-.........X
    Qty.......11130......10600.....10500.....10710....10200.....10000
    Key
    Comp Component scrap
    Op. Operation scrap
    Net ind Net indicator
Qty Quantity calculated for component MAT-2 in pieces .
What this means is that the planning will take place with the required scrap % into consideration. Say for example in the above example scenario "2", if a production order is created for MAT-1 for 100 pieces, the MAT-2 component qty planned will be 10600.
During back flushing it will default pickup 10600 of MAT-2, but if actual consumption was less you can always override the quantity to the actual during backflushing.
Hope this example helps you. Kindly dont forget to reward your points,
    Regards,
    Prasobh

  • Report for materials with shortage (GATP)

    Hi,
We are using GATP for the cofirmation process. If you go to the CO09 transaction in the SAP-ERP system, it will take you to an APO screen. There are 2 fields (Receipts and Confirm quantities) on this screen; when Confirm quantities is greater than Receipts it shows that the material has a shortage.
Is there any report in APO that shows me the materials with shortage (Confirm quantities greater than Receipts)?
    Thanks a lot

    777,
Such info requirements are usually handled with the Alert monitor.
/SAPAPO/AMON_SETTING, create an alert type ATP, Availability check shortage.

How to update all records at a time
    With regards

    Hi,
Through BDC or LSMW first you have to do the recording for particular transaction code and then base on that u have to prepare the flat file to upload the file for the same.
For BDC programing you have to take the help of ABAP progmer but LSMW you can also do.
For more information about LSMW plz go to following link :

  • Non-configurable materials with EK02 costing

    Hi all,
We have a range of non configurable manufactured materials which, when used in standard sales orders, generate a production order and BOM. Presently the cost is automatically generated from the material master and is populated as a VPRS cost.
As these materials have a BOM we want the cost to pick up from the BOM instead, ie as an EK02 cost. If we enter such a material and do a manual recost the EK02 populates in the sales order item conditions but we cannot get it to populate automatically as it does with configurable materials with BOMs.
In the define item categories section in SPRO we have removed the determine cost tick. This has the desired effect of removing the VPRS cost but the EK02 cost still doesn't pull through. In the Bill of Material / Configuration section of the item category we tried setting the structure scope to A (Explode single-level bill of material) and B (Explode multi-level bill of material) but this didn't work. If we set it to D (Configuration, poss. with BOM explosion), then we get the "item can be configured but there is no configuration" error when used in a sales order which is expected as these products have no configuration.
We also tried deleting the standard cost held in the material master to see if, as that value was now blank, it would pick up the EK02 instead but, alas, this also ddn't work.
Any help / suggestions would be most appreciated.
    Kind regards, Rob

    HI,
We are maintaining the Service masters for the services we render, there is no valuation of Inventory as only service is being rendered.
But we have maintained BOM and Routings for the services we render.
Even there is no valuation class in the serivice masters as this is non valuated.
Can you guide me more on this pls.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE, will do the goods receipt ( MB01 )for the subcontracting PO with batch management.

    Dear Professionals ,
I Just want to confirm that whether BAPI "BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE " will do the goods receipt ( MB01 ) for the subcontracting PO with batch management.
Since I will be passing only 101 mvy type in BAPi, will the system automatically call 543 mvt type with batch management and post the consumption.
can I change the batch of the component items ?

    Hi ,
Delivery note is like a ref document number
    so you can use the
In the BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE There is header structure BAPI2017_GM_HEAD_01 which has a field REF_DOC_NO
you can pass the delivery note value to that field .
