Error while registering web provider

I have a web provider developed in JPDK. I have deployed it successfully to an Standalone OC4J and I can access a page that says something like that:

This page lists the portlet providers available in this web application. Use the registration URL in combination with the provider's service name to register the provider. Click on the service name link to view the provider's test page.

But when I try to register the provider in portal with the registration URL I got the error:
An error occurred when attempting to call the providers register function. (WWC-43134)

I'm sure my OC4J is up and running because I can acces the url http://myserver:8888/intranet.
Please help me.I have a similar problem where I have portal installed on a machine called portal.mgmt, which is on a network that users cannot access. Connection to portal.mgmt can only be made from our local network via a machine called install.mgmt. In a sense I guess it is acting like a reverse proxy or firewall.
I have run ssodatan on portal providing the install.mgmt URL and can access most of Portal pages navigating to http://install.mgmt/ except any of the servlets. Actually the only servlet I can access is the sample IsItWorking servlet.
In my java jserv.log file I am getting the following error:
java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketAvailable(Native Method)
I can only assume, from reading the Troubleshooting guide as mentioned above, that portal.mgmt is trying to make a separate connection to the install.mgmt box and is failing.
The network between portal.mgmt and install.mgmt is very restricted as to what can be run and what protocols and ports can be used. Is this restriction causing the problem?
I see that Jserv uses port 8007, is this port used to communicate between machines?
Are there any ports that need to be opened?
I have tried using another machine called ogg as the firewall/access server and get the following error as well.
java.net.UnknownHostException: ogg
at java.lang.Throwable.fillInStackTrace(Native Method)
Any help on this one would be very much appreciated, as I am very stuck at the minute.

Dynamically building web content using XML file(s)
Hello All!
I was recently tasked with a project to design a monitoring web application for our "in-house" built web applications. There is a certain set of modules and parameters that we need to monitor: GSLB --> Web Tier --> App Tier --> Database.
Almost all (80%) of our applications share the same parameters that need to be monitored, but there are about a hundred of them. So here is what I'm thinking of doing....
1. Create an XML document for each application (An example layout is included at the end of this post) and save it in the Applications directory.
2. Setup a Spring Framework project, and create code to dynamically go through the Applications directory and kick-off the monitoring logic for each <application/> item. Basically, the code will just traverse through all of the xml files (I might even create just 1 xml file with all of the <application/> items in it), read the "metadata" for each application, and start the backend processing, as well as display the data in a dynamically-generated web GUI (based on the XML structure and data).
Again, most of our applications (80%) have the same modules/parameters, therefore adding an application would only require us adding another <application/> element to the already-existing xml document (or adding an additional XML document). The code would do the rest...In regards to the rest 20% of applications, I would create a customize XML document with additional metadata (the code, in that case, would be able to handle the additional metadata).
So here are my questions:
1. What do you think of the idea itself? I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's thought of this, so are there any best-practices in this regard?
2. The reason I thought of using Spring is that it is XML-based (there are many reasons for me using Spring actually -- Security, ORM integration, etc), and it might facilitate my efforts. I'm thinking that even if reading through the Applications directory isn't such a good idea, I can somehow utilize Spring's dependency injection & AOS to create the appropriate solution. Have anybody tried this before and willing to share ideas, implementation approach, etc?
3. Other than Spring, what might help me accomplish this task?
4. Is this feasible (from a time and effort stand-point), or should I just do it the old-fashioned way?

Again, the question was more about the overall architecture and design rather than monitoring implementation.
So here is what I have now:
1. A spring application that will do the following:
Read in the "architecture.xml" file (a portion is shown below). This file will dictate not only the type of monitoring but also the layout (explained later).
The architecture.xml is marshalled to entity objects -- Model (s), with nested Model "children"
This array of Model(s) is what the server-side application will use to populate the monitoring parameters.
When the Impl gets a hold of the Model(s), it traverses through all of these entities and does whatever processing it needs to do (Health check, routing check, etc), and produces Item(s) objects, which are similar in structure to the Model(s) entities, but have actual values that need to be displayed on the front-end. Each item might have an array of other, children, Item(s)
2. A GWT application asks for the Items array, and displays them on the front-end.
What I did already:
*1. Created a base Spring project that accepts GWT requests and returns a set of Item(s) (statically-generated, since I don't have the proper Impl yet).*
*2. Created the GWT project and the layout. GWT communicates with the Spring app (which runs on tomcat for now) and upon retrieving the Item(s) it recursively renders them into displayable items, with different background, borders colors, width, etc (based on the populated values and their nested children, if any) . The last code snippet is the definition of the Item class.*
Basically, the architecture is setup and the next step is the actual implementation of the monitoring and routing logic -- which wasn't the point of this post, since I already did most of it for a different project :)

Change basicHttpBinding to wsHttpBinding in azure cloud service web role
So I created a cloud service project in visual studio and added wcf service web role to cloud service.
By default wcf service web role binding is set to basicHttpBinding.

needed to turn off authentication, or use an alternative authentication mechanism (such as username and password).

Error when register Url Service Sample provider
Hello, I followed the 'URL Services Installation Instructions' described in portalstudio in order to set up URL services in my portal environment.
I did succeed in invoking provider test page (http://<myserver>:<myport>/servlets/urlsample), but I'm not able to register the url service provider in Oracle Portal.
When I click Apply button in the 'Create Provider' form I get the foolowing error message.

(WWC-43147)java.lang.NoSuchMethodError has occured because its not able to locate the method 'getDebugLevel'.
This is thrown if an application tries to call a specified method of a class (either static or instance), and that class no longer has a definition of that method.
I guess you are not using the proper version of JPDK for the URLServices that you are using.
Try looking at the URLServices installation/release notes for the version your are using for the JPDK version. Check this version against JPDK.

V2 web provider has an unchangeable (cellpadding=2)

I have created a web provider through url_services. I have noticed that when the portlet is displayed on the page portal adds an cellpadding="2" around the portlet. There does not seem to be anyway to control this.
If the exact same html is displayed through a database provider dynamic page portlet there is no cellpadding.
Is there a fix to resolve this solution?

this value by extending the DefaultContainerRenderer and overriding
`renderShowHeader` method.

Unable to view Report Filters on Excel Services web part
I have an Excel 2010 file with Pivot Charts. I want users to be able to select filters for the pivot charts to modify their chart/report as needed.
This excel file with Pivot Charts is visualized using Excel Services Web Part on SharePoint 2010.
My problem: The Pivot Chart Filters do not appear on SharePoint. They are available when the file is opened in Excel 2010.
Is there a way to have chart/report filters show up on SharePoint (excel services web part)?As per the article below it seems that Pivot Chart Filtering is not available with Excel services. The article reads
"PivotChart reports are not interactive when displayed in a browser. You cannot filter a PivotChart report directly, but if you interact
with the PivotTable report that supplies data for the PivotChart report, the PivotChart report updates accordingly. This means if you filter the PivotTable report, the PivotChart report updates to show the filtered data set."

Error While creating ABAP Consumer Service using Provider service WSDL.
HI Friends,
We are trying to consume service from Provider service.
Provider service is developed on CE 7.11-NWDS7.11 and published in CE7.11 registry.(used outside in method and implemented in EJB/Deployed/Published/tested) sounds good.
We are trying to consume in ABAP (ECC 6.0 EHP4 SPS16).
when we are trying to create service consumer from se80 selected url : provider WSDL picked up from from Service registry.
At the end of wizard its throwing error.

Message Policy in Name space "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/09/policy " is not unique in WSDL.
Unable to generate proxy.
Any pointers to resolve this.

ChandraI would suggest to test the service in XML Spy using the same WSDL or the URL of the WSDL. If XML Zpy throws the same error, there could be some problem in the provider service generation itself..!!

Calling Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery possible?

is it possible to call the Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery? If yes, can someone post me a small example?
Background:
My plan is to create a html with a form which is also uploaded then into the reportserver. I open this html later by clicking a link in a report (with gotoURL open.window). The report opens the html inclusive the overtaken of some additional parameters
(reportname, reportdescription). These parameters I will use in the html-form as defaultvalues for the corresponding input-text-fields. Now the user can make some changes (i.e. the decription). With a click on a button I will send the new description to
the Reporting Services Web Service by using the SetProperties method, closing the html-window and reload the report. Important is that I want to upload the html also into the reportserver itself.
I have already found how to consume a web service via jQuery but with the Reporting Services Web Service I did not get it running in my tests.

What are Azure limitations for Websockets in Cloud Services (web and worker role)?
A WebSocket Server should be built on Azure platform with OnPrem connections and have questions regarding limitations for Websockets in Azure Cloud Services - web and worker roles.
Websockets can be configured for Web Sites and limitations are understood, but Azure Websites is not an option.
Nevertheless it is planned to run a web service (without UI - no web site) as a Cloud service which has secure websocket (WSS) connections to OnPrem machines. Websocket protocol is enabled for IIS8 on Cloud services web and worker roles. Azure Service Bus Relay
is not an option.
Questions:
1) Are Websockets supported for Azure Cloud services web and worker roles? we assume yes
2) What are potential limitations from Azure side to support concurrent Websocket connections? We are aware that CPU, memory etc are limitations, but are there additional limitations from MS Azure side?

As I know, azure cloud service web and worker role support Websockets, users can connect to the role via the special endpoint, if we use Azure cloud service, I think we can monitor the metrics such as CPU, memory, etc... and scale our cloud service via these
metrics to keep the websockets working, refer to

How to get the report description from obiee's web services (web catalog)?
I am trying to get the Description from the properties of a report (using web services + web catalog). I am not able to retrieve the description through the itemProperties[] array, and have not been successful finding it anywhere else. Has anyone been able to get the this Description property? Thanks.

Dynamic service binding in ESB
Hi,
I am trying to do dynamic binding in ESB (using service registry key) and facing the following issue:
1>I have added the uddi Inquiry url in the esb_config.ini:
uddiInquiryURL=http://ossi-1042.idc.oracle.com:8888/registry/uddi/inquiry/
2>In the ESB, I am invoking BPEL through soap service. There are 2 BPEL processes, say B1 and B2. I am giving the wsdl location of B1, and in the endpoint properties i am adding the registry key of B2 (so that I can find out if the registry key property is working):

When I run the instance, always B1 is getting invoked, proving that the registry key is not being used and thus dynamic service binding is happening.

PavanI tried applying the patch, but it gives the following error:

ERROR: OPatch failed during pre-reqs check.
OPatch returns with error code = 150
I downloaded for the OS I am on, but always the generic patch downloads; i guess this generic one should work for all platforms. Opatch version is 1.0.0.0.56. -
The reporting service web service connection pool reached the max pool size
I got a problem that it throw an exception "The timeout peroid elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connection was in use and max pool size was reached."
The satuation is our service use 15 thread to render report, but sometimes we met such exception I list above. I didn't change any configuration in rsreportserver.config, and it seems the connection to reportserver database from reporting service web
service was not disposed.
Is there any configuration I can modify to fix this issue?Hi Dexter,
In your case, we can try to increasing the size of the connection pool to resolve the issue. By default, the Max Pool Size is 100. You can refer to the similar issue below:

seems to me the oracle.aurora error would be coming from the database. No errors appear in the Provider's log files.

Acutally, I have never seen this error before. I had to check around to see if others had seen this. Are you doing anything different than your other web providers? Especially with the User Interface.

US Cellular???? First, your false statements in saying that I am not accurate to say that I cannot be reached by phone are one, subjective (your opinion) and two, inappropriate. I AM NOT MAKING FALSE CLAIMS. THESE STATEMENTS ARE VALID AND TRUE WITH WITNESSES ON MY BEHALF.
