Dynamic Viewstack member problem

OK, based on information from an earlier helpful post, I am
trying to remove itsems from a viewstack and add new ones based on
a user response.
/* set the viewstack members */
private function setStack(_which:int) : void {
mainViewStack.removeChild(s0);
mainViewStack.removeChild(s1);
if (_which == 1){
var _step2:Step2 = new Step2();
mainViewStack.addChild(_step2);
This is working, in as far as the old 2 items are deleted and
the new item appears on the stage. However, I have a couple of
questions:
-- this only works in my Step2.mxml is in the same folder as
the main app. Originally, it was in "/components", so how would I
specify to look in the subdirectory like that?
-- the contents on my component appear, but the linkbar bound
to the viewstack does not pick up on the new member. How do I make
that happen?

Ok, I solved the first issue. In the original VS I had the
component as
<comp:Step2 id="s2"/>, with
xmlns:comp="myComponents.*", but I realized that only worked for
the mxml, and for AS I had to do "import myComponents.*"
I'd still like to know, however, how to refresh/update the
linkBar to pick up the added member. Currently, it's bound to the
viewStach, as in:
<mx:LinkBar id="mainMenu" dataProvider="{mainViewStack}"
width="100%" toolTipField="toolTip" />

  • 6.5 vs 6.2 Dynamic calc member in basis of @allocate function

    I just converted from 6.2 to 6.5 and have run across a problem in the @allocate function. It appears that it does not resolve the dynamic calc member. Formula is:"Curr Fcst"=@ALLOCATE("SumInput"->"Curr Fcst", @remove(@descendants(@currmbr(Accounts)),@Descendants(@CURRMBR(Accounts),-1)), "Consolidated"->"Curr Fcst"->&LactlmonTD, ,share); The problem is that &LactlmonTD - a substitution variable is "MAY YTD", which is a dynamic calc member. The formula works fine for a stored member "May" if you want to allocate based on last month only. This formula worked in 6.2, but does not work in 6.5 that I can see. Any ideas short of storing the data for YTD? I am logging it as a bug with hyperion.

    OK - Hyperion technical support has solved the issue with an "Undocumented feature". I needed to add the following statement to my Essbase.cfg file:CALCFGDEPOPT FALSEThe explaination was as follows:"This is basically to turn off EVENT 28 in Essbae 6.5. In Essbase 6.2 EVENT28 needs to be turned on manually in the config file, while in Essbase 6.5it is automatically turned on."

  • Datacopy from Dynamic Calc member

    Hi All,
    Within a dense dimension(Accounts) I want to copy data from dynamic calc member to a stored member. Below is the structure of my dimension.
    Member X (~, Stored)
    Member A (Dynamic calc, TBLast)
    ----Member A1 (Dynamic Calc)
    ----Member A2 (Dynamic Calc)
    ----Member A3 (Member formula, Dynamic Calc, TBFirst)
    Now I want to copy data from Member A to Member X. I believe we cannot copy from Member A because it is a dynamic calc member, instead we can write a script which adds the children of Member A1, A2 and A3 provided A3 did not have member formula. I hope i'm right. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Using ver 11.1.13.
    Thanks

    Kevin,
    Unfortunately, I think this is the way it works. DATACOPY will not copy dynamically calculated members to stored members.
    Although it is not in the DATACOPY Tech Ref documentation, that's the way it works.
    Here are some older threads on the "other" board:
    http://www.network54.com/Forum/58296/thread/1184768427/DATACOPY+Help
    http://www.network54.com/Forum/58296/thread/1054220911/Datacopy+Problem
    You are going to have to come up with another way of copying the Scenario by summing the members into the target Scenario. It can be a pain because you're going to have to mind the creation of the blocks. SET CREATEBLOCKONEQ will be your friend on this one.

  • Dynamic Calc Member in formula not working

    Hello,
    I am having an issue trying to calculate a dynamic calc member in a calc script.
    Lets say this is our outline:
    OC_GRANDPA (Dynamic Calc)
    OC_PART1 (Dynamic Calc) (+)
    Child1 (Calculated at top of calc script - STORED member) (+)
    Child2 (Calculated at top of calc script - STORED member) (+)
    OC_PART2 (Calculated in middle) of calc script - STORED member [NO CHILDREN] (+)
    I need to use OC_GRANDPA in a formula
    Final = OC_GRANDPA * .05 Rate;
    It is giving me 0 when I run the calc the first time and works if i run it a second time. Is this issue two dynamic calc members? I tried making them twopass and no luck either. I really do not want to make them stored then do a calc dim (accounts) in my calc script. Any other ideas?? If I make my formula use the level 0 members and not the OC_GRANDPA it works but that is not good coding in case I added more Children Id like to automatically pick up. PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks!

    Thanks Cameron! I think I actually posted my mini hierarchy incorrectly as I am trying to put a formula on a different member under grandpa that has no children. Regardless it kept coming up zero -- all of the level 0 members are also calculated in the script. After much trial and error I ended up using the calc script for fomulas for the level 0's then I put a member formula on the member that I could not get to calculate in the script and also made it two pass. So then my calc script has the formulas for the level 0, a Calc Dim (Accounts) to perform the agg and calc the member formula then a calc two pass to calc yet another formula that uses this member.
    I do however now have a different question regarding member formulas - do you know if they calculate top down or bottom up?

  • Data not rolling up of a dynamic calc member for a particular entity

    Hi,
    In my planning application data is not rolling up of a dynamic calc member for a particular entity whereas it is working fine for other entity.
    Please find below the sample Smartview Retrieve
    ----------------Member_ALL---Member_None---Member Top---Member_ALL---Member_None---Member Top
    ----------------Entity 1----------Entity 1------------Entity 1----------Entity 2----------Entity 2------------Entity 2
    Acc1------------100----------------#--------------------#---------------122---------------#-------------------122
    NOTE: # denotes missing
    Member_ALL and Member_None are children of Member_Top. Both Member_ALL and Member_Top are Dynamic Calc whereas Member_None is Store.
    As shown above data is rolling upto Member Top for entity 2 while it is not getting rolled up for Entity 1.
    Request you to please help in finding the error.
    Thanks in Advance'
    Joseph

    Hi Joseph,
    Is Acct 1 Dynamic Calc? In that case will it NOT calculate the combination MemberTop->Entity1 as Member_ALL->Entity1 + Member_None->Entity1.
    I beleive it'll calculate the Acct1 member again for Member Top based on the dynamic formula (whatever the logic). If you make it Acct1 Stored, then the aggregation will be correct by first calculating and storing the Acct1 member and then AGG the Member dimension.
    Cheers,
    Abhishek

  • Dynamic Calc member has more than 100 children

    In my db, I've a dynamic calc member, in say hierarchy Accounts, that has more than 100 members under it (children).
    I'm using MaxL scripts to update the Accounts hierarchy i.e. adding new members, tagging UDA's etc.
    However, the MaxL command is erroring out with a Network Error: Cannot Recieve/Send data. I understand if I try doing the update via
    EAS and try to save the outline, it gives me the more than 100 children warning but still allows me to save it but via MaxL I cannot force
    it to do so.
    This is just a warning and shouldn't MaxL still save the outline? Is there something else that am missing or is there any solution for this issue.
    This is a Sparse dimension. More members will be added to the hierarchy monthly, thereby not reducing the count below hundred.
    Any help/advise is much appreciated. Thanks.
    @deepak

    I am envisioning an entire sparse Accounts dimension with all of the upper levels dynamic. If it is like most accounts dimensions I have seen it has a lot of level zero members and a lot of parent rollups. looking at top level members could be very slow (relative to if they were calculated or dense). We have all done interesting things in our cubes to gain some performance measure trading off calculation and retrieval performance. Doing something like this is an area where a testing is crital

  • Can i use a Dynamic Calc member as a Shared member

    Can i use a Dynamic Calc member as a Shared member in other hierarchy?

    -KK

    Yes we can create a shared member of a Dynamic Calc member.

  • Dynamic Dimension Building Problem

    Hi I am trying to build dimensions dynamicaly, I am getting a warning stating " your outline has generated warnings indicating possible erroneous calculations...."The member is defined as a Dynamic Calc member and has more than 100 children"My question is there any limit for the no. of children to any dynamic calc members. Is there any way to increase that number.Thanks

    And somewhere along the way, Hyperion changed the way this was handled.. At one point, this would cause a data load to be considered partially successful by Essbase. Then Essbase was changed so that this error was ignored by the dimbuild process. I don't remember the version.. probably somewhere around version 6.0 or 6.1..?

  • Dynamic calc problem while calculation another dynamic calc member

    I have 6 dimensions. Two of them are dense and are tagged as Accounts and Time. The dimension I am having problem with is called "Metrics". It was originally dense. But because the calc scripts were executing slowly, I decided to make "Metrics" a sparse dimension. Now the calc scripts are all executing pretty fast. However, I now have data issues. For example: Within Metrics, I have a hierarchy that looks as follows: Metrics Input.Amount ~ BW.YAG.EQU Dynamic Calc, Two Pass Pct.YAG.EQU Dynamic calc, Two Pass. Both of these Members have a member formula associated with them. "Pct.YAG.EQU" member refers to "BW.YAG.EQU" within it's member formula. Also, notice "Pct.YAG.EQU" comes after "BW.YAG.EQU" Any other thoughts. Really appreciate all your help in this matter. Thanks

  • Dynamic calc member formula problem

    Hello Gurús!
    We are using a member called "Full Year" that is a Dynamic calc with a member formula that calls another dynamic calc. For any reason, it is not working when we try to retrieve it from Excel Add-in.
    Any ideas? Any problem for put a Dynamic Calc as member formula of antoher Dynamic calc?
    Thanks for your time!
    Regards,

    that can be the problem, depending on what dimension they are in, the order the two pass occurs could couse you issues. In cases like this I've had to put the entire calculation into the member I wanted to calculate and bypass the dependency

  • Dynamic Security username () problems

    Hi,
    I need some help with the following situation. I am trying to put into place asome sort of dynamic Security in my cube. With some help , I manage to get something working:
    select [Measures].[Sales Net Amount] on columns,
     NONEMPTY(
        [Dim Restaurants].[Restaurant].[Restaurant].members,
        ([Measures].[count],
        StrToMember("[Dim User].[User].&[2]")))
        on rows
     from [XYZ]
    my  problem is the minute I replace StrToMember("[Dim User].[User].&[2]"))) with
    StrToMember("[Dim User].[User].&["+ username() +"]"))) I get no result at all , look like this function is non existant but everey blog/post I looked they keep using this function.
    Something is missing qand I do not see it , I am using SSAS 2012 and quite new to all of this

    The username function returns a string in the form of "domain\user" so I highly doubt that you will ever get a value of "2" coming back.
    If you run the following query you can see what this function returns in your environment
    with member measures.UsrName as username()
    select { measures.[UsrName] } on 0
    FROM [XYZ]
    You need to base your dynamic security on an attribute that has data in the same format that the username() function returns.

  • Dynamic Time Series problem

    I have three measures and three Orgs set up in the following way-
    Measures
    M1(~)<2>(Two Pass)
    |
    ---M2(+)(Two Pass)
    ---M3(+)(Two Pass)
    Orgs
    O1(~)<2>(Two Pass)
    |
    ---O2 (+)
    ---O3 (+)
    I have formulas for members M2 and M3 such that M2 is calculated only for O2 and M3 is calculated only for M3 and the formulas are such that I need the two pass on O1.
    Now here is my problem: When I retrieve the data using Y-T-D(04) as my time period, all data (i.e. for M1,M2 and M3) for org O1 shows up as #missing. All other data (i.e. M1,M2 and M3 for O2 and O3) shows up as it should (sum from jan to apr). If I retrieve for individual months everything works perfectly. Can anyone give me some pointers as to why this is happening?

    Two pass won't effect dynamic time series. If the member was dynamic and you needed it two pass as well, that might make the order of the calculations different than you'd anticipate.
    Dynamic Time Series will be calculated last so in your case, if you were selecting Y-T-D (Feb), the result would be M1->Jan + M2->Feb. I don't know if that will yield the correct result. I think you need to make sure the formula is correct for a given month and then see if the math should be calculating this way.

  • Dynamic Credit check - problem -Delivery creation from Sales order

    Hi
    we have a problem which i would appreciate some help with.
    Sales order is blocked for credit and subsequently released via VKM1
    BUT as soon as line item is selected and then Sales document > deliver -
    the Dynamic credit block kicks in again straight away, no other changes have been made
    why is this occurring ?
    I managed to get round the problem by creating delivery via VL10c and selecting line item and then create in background

    Hi Tony,
    Do you have a credit check active again at Delivery level?
    In OVA8 - for the combination of credit control area, risk cat & credit group - please check field 'Number of days'.
    If you do not wish to carry out the credit check again for the released doc, here you can maintain the number of days.
    Description of F1 for this field is as below.
    Credit check: Number of days without check
    Specifies the number of days after which a changed document must be re-checked for credit.
    Use
    This function is used for checking documents that have already been released by a credit representative, but that have subsequently been changed. The system does NOT carry out another credit check if the following conditions are met:
    The value of the changed order is not greater than the value already approved for credit (inclusive of the deviation factor), AND
    The current date is not greater than the original release date plus the number of days specified here

  • Dynamic Calc Member with Formula to Calculate a Rolling 13 Year

    I have to create a rollup in my time dimension that will have 13 members representing each month of a 13 rolling forecast. I am having trouble setting this up as dynamic calc members with a formula assigned to it. For example, on of the members has the following formula.

    Another example in a different database:
    IF (@ISMBR("JAN")) ((@MDSHIFT("Fees"->APR,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->MAY,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->JUN,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->JUL,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->AUG,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->SEP,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->OCT,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->NOV,-1,YEARS,)+@MDSHIFT("Fees"->DEC,-1,YEARS,)+"Fees"->JAN)/10)*12;

  • Dynamic internal table problem in FM - HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATIONS

    Dear All,
    I have a problem when I use a Dynamic internal table in FM - HR_INFOTYPE_OPERTATION..
    Please suggest me on the way to overcome this problem..
    We wanted to have a dynamic Program for Info type operations which can be used for any info types as we are changing only BEGDA and the related actions
    So in my program I have the parameters to accept
    P_BEGDA - 01.10.2007
    P_INFTY - P0008
    P_ACTIO - COPY
    I am able to create a dynamic table based on the parameters P_INFTY and able to read it also using the FM - HR_READ_INFOTYPE
    BUT when I pass the dynamic internal table to a FM - HR_INFOTYPE_OPERTATION I am getting a DUMP
    The DUMP is at the below statement from FM - HR_INFOTYPE_OPERTATION
    ASSIGN record TO <record> CASTING TYPE (tabname). "XDP UniCode
    It gives the below possiblities
    "ASSIGN_BASE_TOO_SHORT" C
    "SAPLHRMM" or "LHRMMU03"
    "HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION"
    But If I use the below internal table
    Data : g_t_0008 like P0008 occurs 0 with header line.
    And If I use the internal table g_t_0008 instead of dynamic tables then it works. So I strongly feel it's due to not having a header in the dynamic table below see below the sample code on how I am generating a dynamic internal table
