Dynamically generating screen layout.

Hi,
   I need to create a module program dynamically along with the screen layout dynamically. i.e i need to add text fileds and input fields dynamically. I've found that we can acheive this by the command generate dynpro.
But i donot know what to fill in the internal table which holds the element list. If anybody has worked on similar thing, kindly guide me with some example code.
Chaitanya

Hi Anand,
  I have seen the structure of the internal table but i
don't know how to fill that table. Could you give me an example as to what should be filled if i need an input field with name 'tab-field1' at line 10 column 10.
I've used an already existing screen and imported its element list by command import dynpro. I've similarly filled it and given the command generate dynpro. But it has given a short dump with no error analysis.

  • How to generate a dynamic selection-screen

    Hi folks,
    I have a itab with all fields and descriptions of a database-table. Now i want to generate a selection screen dynamically. I want to create a select-option for every field of the table.
    First I read all fields of a database table into my intern table:
    CALL FUNCTION 'DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET'
      EXPORTING
        tabname              = 'database_tabname'
      TABLES
        dfies_tab            = it_tabname_fields.
    Then I tried to generate a dynamic selection-screen with a select-options statement per field of the itab, but it doesn't work:
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK b1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001 NO INTERVALS.
    LOOP AT it_tabname_fields INTO s_tabname_fields. "should be 14 loops and 14 lines
      SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF LINE.
      SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT (25) s_tabname_fields-SCRTEXT_S FOR FIELD var1. "the name of the field should be set dynamically from the itab
      SELECT-OPTIONS var1 FOR tabname-s_tabname_fields-fieldname. "s_tabname_fields-fieldname should be set dynamically for each line
      SELECTION-SCREEN END OF LINE.
    ENDLOOP.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK b2.
    I know that this doesn't work but it should help you to understand what i want to do. It doesn't create more than one select-option (it should be 14 because there are 14 lines in the table) and it doesn't get the values from the table.
    I hope you can help me...
    Regards,
    Sebastian

    hi
    Firstly, have a look at the following code to see how this can be implemented -
    REPORT ZTEST.
    perform test.
    class test definition.
      public section.
        methods: create_screen.
    endclass.
    class test implementation.
      method create_screen.
        data:  report_line(72),
               report_source like table of report_line.
        data: err_message(240),
              err_line type i,
              err_word(100).
        report_line = 'REPORT TEST.'.
        append report_line to report_source.
        report_line = 'PARAMETERS: P_TEST TYPE I.'.
        append report_line to report_source.
        report_line = 'START-OF-SELECTION.'.
        append report_line to report_source.
        report_line = 'WRITE : P_TEST.'.
        append report_line to report_source.
        syntax-check for report_source message err_message
                                       line    err_line
                                       word    err_word.
        if err_message is initial.
          INSERT REPORT 'ZZZTESTZZZ' FROM REPORT_SOURCE.
          SUBMIT ZZZTESTZZZ VIA SELECTION-SCREEN AND RETURN.
        endif.
      endmethod.
    endclass.
    form test.
      data test type ref to test.
      CREATE OBJECT TEST.
      call method test->create_screen.
    endform.
    As you can see, the report is being written dynamically. Once the INSERT REPORT statement is executed, the program is available. you can you external subroutine calls to pass the data between the programs now.

  • How to generate dynamic selection-screen?

    Hi all,
    I have two radio buttons on selection-screen.
    If user-selects the one, Then under the radio button another parameter should be displayed
    if he selects another radio button, the previous parameter should not  be displayed and another parameter should appear in the selection screen under the second radio button.
    Please help by giving the code to solve this problem?
    Thanks,

    Hi Vamsi,
    By using AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT and creating the MOdif id for the selection screen parameter you can achieve the dynamic selection scree..
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
    * Modify selection screen as per the radio buttons selected.
      PERFORM modify_sel-screen.
    FORM modify_sel-screen .
    * If radio button - process in range of STR's selected, display STR

  • Dynamic selection screen

    Hello all,
    I have a requirement to create a 'dynamic' selection screen with 2 sections(vertical).
    The first section contains set of selection options for which the type comes from the values stored in the internal table(populated at runtime). The second section contains checkbox corresponding to each selection option generated/created in the first section mentioned above.
    So the number of fields and checkboxes to be created are identified only at the runtime.
    Note: I already tried to use FMs FREE_SELECTIONS* but it is not serving my purpose.
    Looking forward to your inputs.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajat

    Why don't you use the At selection-screen output event.
    As i have understood your scenario you have two sections. with the first one containing the select-options. The second will change on basis of the first section selection.
    Hope it helps you.
    Elaborate a bit more so i can paste a code.

  • Cross column radio group solution using dynamically generated HTML

    I am tasked with creating a screen in Apex matching look and feel of an existing application screen; tabular form, multiple column radio buttons to update a single column value (radio group needs to be row oriented, across multiple columns). I could not find a way to use HTMLDB_ITEM.RADIO_GROUP () function for this due to the radio group being column based, great as a row selector but not for use across columns (each button being a column).
    My first thought was to comprise and use checkboxes via HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX () for the multiple choices (in each column) and HTMLDB_ITEM.HIDDEN() to hold the chosen value, a JavaScript function for “onClick” event to make the checkboxes in one row act like radio buttons in a radio group. I created a simple application to show the concepts of my solutions …
    SQL looks like this:
    select pk_id, -- f01
    object_to_color, -- f02
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(11, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f11, ''RED'')"', 'RED') red,
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(12, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f12, ''BLUE'')"', 'BLUE') blue,
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(13, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f13, ''GREEN'')"', 'GREEN') green,
    color_choice -- f03
    from objects_to_color
    Columns pk_id and color_choice are set as Show off and Display As Hidden. Note that my HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX items start with id number 11 (f11 – f13) so as not to conflict with the item id’s Apex will generate on it’s own. I could have used HTMLDB_ITEM functions to create all items and had my own PL/Sql update process.
    This creates a tabular presentation with a column for each color choice as a checkbox, shown checked if that color is initially set.
    The JavaScript function chkboxAction() clears the other checkboxes if a color is selected and stores the color in the hidden item db column for use in Apex Submit processing. Sorry the identation get's lost in the post!
    function chkboxAction (id, ckbx, color) {
    // f01 is pk_id (hidden)
    // f11 is RED checkbox
    // f12 is BLUE checkbox
    // f13 is GREEN checkbox
    // f03 db column color_choice for update (hidden)
    var idx;
    // Find row index using pk_id passed in as id argument.
    for (var i=0; i < document.wwv_flow.f01.length; i++) {
    if (document.wwv_flow.f01.value == id) {
    idx = i;
    i = document.wwv_flow.f01.length;
    if (ckbx(idx).checked == true) {
    // Set hidden color_choice column value to be used in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = color;
    // Uncheck them all, then reset the one chosen.
    document.wwv_flow.f11(idx).checked = false;
    document.wwv_flow.f12(idx).checked = false;
    document.wwv_flow.f13(idx).checked = false;
    ckbx(idx).checked = true;
    } else {
    // Unchecked so clear color_choice column value to be used in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = '';
    This works well and, as an aside, has an added feature that the color can be “unchosen” by unchecking a checked checkbox and leaving all checkboxes unchecked. This cannot be done with radio buttons unless a radio button is added as “no color”.
    But what if radio buttons must be used, as in my situation? Here is another solution using custom code to dynamically generate radio buttons for a row based radio group rather than using HTMLDB_ITEM.RADIO_GROUP ().
    select pk_id, -- f01
    object_to_color, -- f02
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_1" value="RED" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'RED', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''RED'')">' red,
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_2" value="BLUE" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'BLUE', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''BLUE'')">' blue,
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_3" value="GREEN" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'GREEN', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''GREEN'')">' green,
    color_choice -- f03
    from objects_to_color
    The pk_id column is used here to ensure a unique name and unique id for the items. In practice a custom api should be used to generate items in this way.
    The JavaScript function is actually simpler for radio buttons because the radio group handles the mutually exclusive logic for choosing a color.
    function rbAction (id, color) {
    // f01 is pk_id (hidden)
    // f03 db column color_choice for update (hidden)
    var idx;
    // Find row index using evaluation_question_id.
    for (var i=0; i < document.wwv_flow.f01.length; i++) {
    if (document.wwv_flow.f01.value == id) {
    idx = i;
    i = document.wwv_flow.f01.length;
    // Set hidden result column referenced in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = color;
    Now the problem is that on update, Apex will be confused by the custom items and try to post updated values to it’s own internal items – which don’t exist. The result is the very frustrating HTTP 404 - File not found error when apex/wwv_flow.accept executes on Submit. So, the trick is to clear the custom items prior to the update with a simple JavaScript function, then the values show again when the page is rerendered, if you are not branching from the page. The Submit button is changed to call the following function:
    function submit () {
    var items = document.getElementsByTagName("INPUT");
    for (i=0; i< items.length; i++) {
    if (items(i).type == "radio") {
    if (items(i).checked == true)
    items(i).checked = false;
    doSubmit('SUBMIT');
    This technique might have general use when using custom items. Comments or improvements on this?

  • To create Dynamic Selection screen using Key Fields

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement where we want to create Dynamic selection screen using Key fileds of Z-table or any standard table.
    Please provide some solution if you have worked in this area.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Anand Raj Kuruba

    Hi,
    You can use the following statement.
    SELECTION-SCREEN DYNAMIC SELECTIONS FOR NODE|TABLE <node>.
    declares a node <node> of a logical database for dynamic selections in the selection include.
    To use the dynamic selections in the SELECT statements of the subroutine PUT_<node>, you must use the data object DYN_SEL. The data object DYN_SEL is automatically generated in the logical database program as follows:
    TYPE-POOLS RSDS.

  • Adding a BSEG field to the FB03 dynamic selection screen

    Hello,
    We have a requirement wherein we want to add a field from BSEG in the dynamic selection screen of FB03.
    We found that the logical database behind this is BRF.  So we created a u2018CUSu2019 selection view for the logical database and added the field from BSEG to the functional group
    and checked the checkbox u201CPreselectu201D for it to appear automatically in the FB03 screen.
    But we still couldnu2019t see the field in FB03 dynamic selection.
    On analysis, we found that only tables are that are defined in the nodes (Extras  Selection views) can be used to create the dynamic selection and BSEG was not available
    as one of the node.  So we added BSEG as one of the node by adding the below code to the SELECTION of the logical database.
    SELECTION-SCREEN DYNAMIC SELECTIONS FOR TABLE BSEG.
    Even after that, we couldnu2019t see the field from BSEG in the dynamic selection.
    Are we missing anything here?
    I see many threads here on similar lines but no one has posted the exact step. Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Suganya

    Hi
    If you want to take the line item details than you can refer these t-codes rather than customizing.
    S_AC0_52000887 - Receivables: Profit Center
    S_AC0_52000888 - Payables: Profit Center
    S_ALR_87012332 - G/L Account Statements
    Here by using the dynamic selection you can get the results. Use object list display and select the layout for more fields.
    Thanks

  • Dynamic selection screen fetching the value from table fields

    hi gurus,
    i have one table say ztable...and i should create a dynamic selection screen which should populate the selection screen by the table field names.
    example..if i have 3 fields im my table..my selection screen should have three selection option fields..and in future if i add one more field in my table it should automatically create another slection-option in selection screen..
    thanks
    Sudheer

    Do you mean like SE16 works. If so, you should notice that if you  amend the selection fields, the screen program is actually re-generated.
    That is what is happening. A program is being created and re-generated.
    To create a dynamic selection screen in a single program is not possible ( I may be wrong ). If it is possible, then you would have problems in defining selection screen field names and using them.

  • Problem with the browse sequence back and browse sequence next widget placed in the screen layout

    Hi,
    Some basics: We are using Robohelp 10 to  generate multiscreen  html5 output. We used the pharmaceutical  screen layout downloaded from:  http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/robohelp-screen-profiles-layouts.html but modified it to match our GUI.
    We are having a problem with the browse sequence back and browse sequence next buttons placed in the screen layout from the widgets tool bar. We are in no way experts at this part of Robohelp...and the css portion of all this is a bit of mystery but we have managed to get mostly what we need. Now we just need these buttons to work. In the past we used Airhelp and things worked great. Can anyone help us understand why the sequence buttons are not showing up in the output even though it does in the topic preview?
    Also
    This shows up in the  layout.css file:
    a.wBSBackButton {
                    margin: 0 8pt 0 0;
                    padding: 0;
                    background-color: transparent;
    img.wBSBackButton {
                    border: none;
    a.wBSNextButton {
                    margin: 0 8pt 0 0;
                    padding: 0;
                    background-color: transparent;
    img.wBSNextButton {
                    border: none;
    Also btw, I forgot to mention that we are linking our FrameMaker files.
    Appreciate the help.
    Thanks!

    hi pradeep
    It does not happen but if you Wait for a while that may be solved

  • Screen Layout Corruption?

    HELP!!!  Cannot edit screen layout.....Layout has been corrupted, and causes RH10 to shut down when I try to edit it.  The published layout has changed as well, with pictures enlarged and interfering with the body text.

    I'm thinking the problem is the one described in Re: Printing template to edit in Robohelp 10? and that Willam has correctly identified the problem is related to printing from the online help rather than when you generate a printed document.
    If that is the case, it would make sense to delete this thread and move the other one to the Rh HTML forum. I will do that if you will kindly confirm that is the action that should be taken.

  • Screen Layout PR

    Dear all,
    Can we use User Parameters in SU01 to define which Screen Layout in PR is used.
    Thx
    Icuk Hertanto

    How to  allow/disallow the users for particular access??
    Hi,
    It starts from user roles  you have created. Look for a role which includes purchasing transactions (viz. PR, PO, RFQ etc)
    In SU01 for a user in quesion, in the Roles tab double click the role you have identified which will take  you to a separate session. Click on Authorizations tab and click Change Display then click on change button at the bottom to take you to the screen where all the possible authorizations made for the user.
    Look for the node where you want to allow or disallow the object under Materials Management Purchasing by nodes and open the relevant ones to edit the auths.
    The authorization objects displayed here are as per the role, if you want to additional auths you can use manual option or check inthe menu to search yours.
    Once done, click generate and save and come back.
    Hope it helps

  • Dynamically generating colums

    Hi Experts,
    i have one requirement.
    just i will explain u with an example.
    i have ekko header in selection screen .
    i want to retrive ekko items for the selected ekko header and display the item data horizontally along with the header.
    so the columns shud be generated  dynamically.
    now i want to fill itab with that  values and generate extra colums for that .
    so if anybody worked on such scenerio pls reply me with the solution as soon as possible.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kranthi

    You can try for example something like this, to dynamically generate a table/structure:
    DATA: struct_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_structdescr,
          table_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_tabledescr.
    DATA: table TYPE REF TO data.
    DATA: compontents TYPE COMPONENT_TABLE.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <comp> LIKE LINE OF components.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <table> TYPE ANY TABLE, <structure> TYPE ANY, <field> TYPE ANY.
    * Create table/structure
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE components ASSIGNING <comp>.
    <comp>-name = 'field'.
    <comp>-type = cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'CHAR50' ).
    struct_type = cl_abap_structdescr=>create( components ).
    table_type = cl_abap_tabledescr=>create(struct_type).
    CREATE DATA table TYPE HANDLE table_type.
    ASSIGN table->* TO <table>
    * Fill table
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
    ASSIGN COMPONENT 'field' OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
    <field> = 'value'.
    * Access table
    LOOP AT <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
      WRITE: 'Line:', sy-tabix.
      LOOP AT components ASSIGNING <comp>.
        ASSIGN COMPONENT <comp>-name OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
        WRITE: / <comp>-name, ':', <field>.
      ENDLOOP.
      WRITE /.
    ENDLOOP.
    What you need to know is the components of your structure, before creating the data type. But you could use this table to store your data for display in the ALV.
    You can also get the components of an existing structure and add your fields to that:
    struct_type ?= cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'EKKO' ).
    components = struct_type->get_components( ).
