Dynamics AX - Professional Services Automation

Hello.
On Dynamics AX 2009 exists an optinal module called PSA (Professional Services Automation). Does anyone know if the module has been incorporated into Dynamics AX 2012 R2?

    I will soon implement PSA solution (PA with GL), but I still don't understand where I can calculate Labour Cost. I need to calculate a cost rate per skill (eg. Programmer, Project manager...), and then to input it into PA. I cannot find anything neither in GL nore in Financial Analyser.
    Can anyone help me and illustrate me the process of budgeting?

    Oracle does not deliver a functionality to calcualte the cost rate.
    Oracle Projects is expecting you enter a cost rate per employee.
    New feature will be to have cost rate per job (not yet available).
    If you have Financial Analyzer you may want to use it for the claculation.
    Define the GL account that will have the payroll expenses per each skill. Enter in another dimention the quantity of hours per that skill on the same range of period and define a rule to claculate the average cost per hour.
    You will need to code by your own an interface to load rates from OFA to PA.
    In PA you may consider populating the same rate to all employees of the same skill.
    Another method would be to define a custom table for cost rate per skill, and use the Labor Client extension to actully cost the hours charged by each employee.

  • AX Dynamics 2012 Reporting Service Extension Error - The user or gorup name is not recognized

    Hi,
    I am currently installing AX Dynamics 2012 Reporting Service Extension on one of our machine. But this always fails during the installation with this error:
    DynamicsSetupLog
    Our current domain is MWSerp
    An error occurred while adding users AxERP\qaproxy, AxERP\qaaos, MWSerp\qaproxy to the SQL Server Reporting Services DynamicsAXBrowser role in the folder dynamicsAX. The error is: The user or group name AxERP\qaproxy is not recognized.
    The database was restored from our old Ax Deployment on a different domain - AxERP if you noticed on the error, 2 domains are present: AxERP (old domain) and MWSerp (our existing).
    I find it peculiar that it is still adding old accounts from the old domain which is not existent. Tried looking for it on the registry or on the AX Dynamics User account but there are no entries on AxERP\qaaos and AxERP\qaproxy on it.
    Do you have any clue on where AX Installer is picking up those information which needs to be added on the DynamicsAXBrowser? Tried stopping /starting the AOS Service and generating WCF. Also tried looking on registry but couldnt find it. How can I bypass
    it so the Extension will be installed successfully. I also tried not deploying the reports, just the Extension only.

    I would like to know the list of Datasources that are required for the Professional Services Module.
    I have identified the Infocubes that are to be used.Below are the list of infocubes.

    For more flexibility in terms of automating passing data to a report or the prompting screens, have a look at the SDK Library on http://boc.sdn.sap.com, especially the Report Application Server SDK.  With this SDK you will be able to automate adding a new datasource at runtime, and have flexibility to choose what you see for your parameter prompting screen.

  • TS1717 Having trouble running iTunes version 11.0.2 on a Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1.  Keep getting an error message "the software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly..." reinst

    Having trouble when I launch iTunes (version 11.0.2) on my Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (service pack 1).  I get an error message indicating software required to communicate with iPod and mobile phones was not installed correctly.  Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?  I normally respond with OK and it immediately tells me "could not be repaired.  Please reinstall iTunes..."  I have done this a number of times to no avail.

    I also notice Quicktime is not getting installed at all.
    That one is normal nowadays (ever since the iTunes versions 10.5.x).
    The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?
    Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
    Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

    Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
    Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
    Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
    (If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
    Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
    If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Windows XP Home or Professional Service Pack 3 for my new ipod??? Why?

    Majority of all my ipod songs are on my iTunes on my old computer (which we bought in 2005), and at the time I've been using my second generation ipod. So now that I've bought a new 4th gig one...I see on the back of the case how it says that it needs to be Windows XP Home or Professional Service Pack 3 or later and iTunes 8 or later, but I'm not sure my computer is SP3 right now....does that mean that even if I update my iTunes, my ipod will not sync? I hope not....someone help

    Don't worry, you can install iTunes on Windows 7. Just make sure the recipient knows to download the correct version of the installer.

  • Forms 10g Installation issue on windows 7 Professional service pack 1

    I am trying to install oracle forms 10g  64 bit windows 7 Professional service pack 1 ..
    Below are 2 files that i am using ..
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
    But it failed but the error is .. 
    Checking operating system version: must be 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2.    Actual 6.1     Failed <<<<
    just wondering if there are any workaround ..

    Christian is right - Forms 10g R2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) is not certified for installation on Windows 7.  You must apply a Forms 10g R2 patch to bring the version to 10.1.2.3.0 for it to be certified.  You must have a My Oracle Support account to obtain the patch.
    Now, to your question - is there a workaround; the answer is yes.  There are known issues with this installer.  I'll list them and their workaround.
    1.  The Oracle installer checks for a specific set of Windows versions rather than check for a minimum Windows version.
    Workaround:  Right-click the Installer and select Properties.  Click the Compatibility tab and click the checkbox: Run this program in compatibility mode for:  Windows XP SP3).
    2.  The Oracle Installer can't detect Windows Managed Virtual Memory (VM).
    Workaround:  You must temporarily change the Virtual Memory settings and specify specific Initial and Maximum sizes.  See this Microsoft article for more information on changing VM settings.  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory
    This change will require you to restart your computer.  After you have successfully installed Oracle Forms 10g, you can restore the original VM settings.
    3.  The Oracle installer MUST be installed as an "Administrator". 
    Workaround:  Windows 7 uses "Least privileged user" so you must right-click the Installer and select the Compatibility tab.  Click the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox.
    4.  Not a Oracle installer issue, but you will have to install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (1.6.0 - not 1.7.0) because Oracle Forms is a 32-bit application so it will not be able to use the 64-bit JRE.
    Run the Oracle installer and it should now install succesfully.

    I understand now that OSR is only meant to contain only Proxy services. The synch facility is between OSR and OSB so that in case when you are not using OER, you can publish Proxy services to OSR from OSB. What I didn't understand was why there was a option to publish a Proxy service back to OSB and why it ended up as a Business service. From the link you provided, it mentioned that this case is for multi-domain OSBs, where one OSB wants to use the other OSB's service. It is clear now.
    Some more questions:
    1) In the design-time, in OER no Endpoints are generated for Proxy services. Then how do we publish our design-time services to OSR for testing purposes? What is the correct way of doing this?

    Hi,
    I am looking to find what comes standard (out-of-the-box) in the Business One for Professional Services (PS) in the latest release 8.8. Can anyone please guide me in the right direction, documentation. I am looking for the processes, business scenarios etc for financials, HR, CRM, reporting etc specific to the PS industry.
    We are an IT Consulting company and just bought the software and I want to know the functionality available in the Professional Services edition that we can leverage and implement..

    Hi Dan,
               Ther is no such standard guide or practice availabe in the documentation form for the implementation process.Help guide available with SAP B1 is sufficient to let you know all the functionality available.As far as business process concern,Implementator has to study the process and customize the software accordingly.During the Implementation process you can take the help either from forum or through rxperts directly.

  • HT1925 I cannot uninstall Bonjour and Quicktime so I can do a complete reinstall of iTunes.  I get an error message stating that both are older versions and to contact technical support.  I am running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3.

    I am trying to update iTunes on my desktop (running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3) and I continue to receive an error message stating that the update cannot continue because Bonjour and Quicktime are older versions and to contact technical support.  I have tried repairing both and tried to uninstall iTunes and all of it's componants and still receive the same message.  Any help getting this issue resolved as soon as possible will be much appreciated.   

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    Next, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot: 
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    mine works on 10.5 on xp pro sp2 as all i did was re download the usb driver for the lead and works on syncing my 4s

    Hi Ravi the following are my answers to your points:

    Yes

    No impact on the existing set up. We have to add cProjects suite with ECC 6.0.
    3) What are the perquisites for Installing SAP for Professional Services?
    If you are looking for full IS-Professional Services then you need CRM, ECC, cProjects and BW. If your organization is into NPD and if you have critical mass in resources then you can go for xRPM also.
    4) Integration with Microsoft EPM server possible? To which extent?
    I don't know exactly what is EPM?
    5) Is SAP for Professional Services is available in any SAP Enhancement Package for ECC 6?
    ECC 6.0 service pack 11 will have some part of modules specified above. But CRM and BW are seperate modules, which needs to be installed seperately.
    You can award points if at all this info helps you.
