E-Commerce Development Information

Hi everybody -
I am looking for some SAP E-Commerce development information (i.e. Getting Started Guide, Tutorial). So far, nothing in SDN or any of these forums. Can anybody point me to a right direction?

(I haven't tried to port it, by the way).
You may be aware that SAP sells an application that runs on their platform that does internet sales, and a whole lot more.  You licence CRM, and in there is a shopping application that works with R/3 out of the box.  They have what they call the R/3 Edition that does not depend on CRM (works out of the box with R/3, of course).
So, if you ask here how to set up a store, the answer would be 'buy the software and open OSS notes if it doesn't work'.
That being said, I hope I'm completely wrong because I would like to find a simple shopping app to deploy (not one that connects in any way to R/3, just one that has basic authentication/authorization, some kind of shopping cart, and multi-language (not much to ask )).

    Let me try to understand your requirement.
    I believe you are trying to get the 'statistics' information like Response time, CPU time etc. for SAP (ABAP) Transactions, right?
    If so, you should be looking at the 'Workload Analysis' and STAT records in the ABAP system.  Go to transaction 'ST03N' and try to understand what kind of information is available for you related to workload analysis (for earlier releases, use transaction 'ST03'.  For Global central analysis use transaction 'ST03G').

    The best way to create reports for Statistical records is using CPH (Central performance History) and through BI.  What it means is, you don't have to create any JCO programs.  But you will have to configure CPH/CCMS and the BI connectivity details. Once you do that you will be able to make use of the BI reports available as part of the 'BI business package for CCMS'.  To know more about it, please visit SMP link: http://service.sap.com/monitoring (requires login).

  • E-Commerce Development

    Hi There,
    I am in the process of planning the development of an online business based on an online shop.
    I understand that there are many ways to approach this and that there are many companies out there that offer shopping cart plugins using standard templates. I would like complete flexibility in design so though that the best way forward would be to start from scratch.
    Does anyone know a good place to start? I have experience with HTML, Flash, some C and some ASP.net.
    Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi - does anyone know of a tag/application that I can buy to
    create a site where the users pay to unlock information either by a
    par per info "match" or alternatively by paying a monthly fee and
    having unlimited info for a set period. The site is a bit like a
    dating site - where the user searched for something and then has to
    pay to unlock the contact details.
    www.greataupair.com uses this type of technology but I can't
    find out if theres any way of buying it ready made rather than
    trying to do it myself!

    Hhm, well CFWebstore does have the ability to protect content
    areas and sell memberships to them, but you probably would have to
    customize it a bit to actually just sell pieces of info, rather
    than access to the entire product or page. But it's at least a good
    bit ahead of most software out there in terms of doing this kind of
    thing.

    I was wondering what is the education level of most Java developers. Do you have a SCJP ceritifcate? What degree did you get in college?

  • Why Crystal Report save development environment information

    One report, version 11, includes two sub report. Preview is ok in development, called by program is ok too, even change several SQL Server and DB. But after deploy to production, it raise error "Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code:911]". And after preview production data in Crystal Report designer, and save report template file (Not include data). Called by program to connect production, it is ok. But called by program connect to back development DB, it raise same error. Seems report template file saved development information, and reject program passed DB information.

    It sounds like you haven't added any code to change databases at runtime. I suspect the code you thought you were running successfully in dev didn't work to switch DBs. It probably continued to connect to the dev DB.
    Saving the original DB info is done by default for a Crystal Report .rpt file. Search the forum and read the developer SDK guide on how to change databases at runtime.

  • E-Commerce Catalog error and log configurator probelm?

    I am trying to browse a B2B shop (http://server:port/b2b/b2b/init.do) in CRM 5.0 and getting following error message:
    The catalog that you have selected is currently unavailable; try again later
    I am using CRM 5.0 System (IDES Client) and basically trying to setup a E-Commerce development environment.
    Following are the steps i have done so far for E-Commerce configuration:
    1. Configured ISADMIN (http://server:port/isauseradm/admin/xcm/init.do).
    1.1 Changed following params for Start->General Application Settings->Customer->isauseradm->isauseradmconfig:
    >> SSLEnabled: false
    >> appinfo: true
    >> show start.jsp: true
    >> AddUserToPartner: true
    >> AcceptExistingUser: true
    1.2 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Components->Customer->jco and entered my back end CRM System details and saved it as CRM_800_JCO. I also did Run Test which was successful.
    1.3 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Application Configurations->Customer and entered following params and saved it with name CRM_800_ISAUSERADMSTD:
    >> Base configuration: isauseradmStandard
    >> default configuration: X

    3.3 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Application Configurations->Customer and entered following params and saved it with name CRM_800_CRMSHOP:
    >> Base configuration: crmshop

    4. Restarted CRM J2EE.
    5. Setup TREX 7.0.
    5.1 From TREX Administration, created a new connection (Type A, i.e., using System Number and Application Server Host) for CRM System and also RFC Dest. (sm59) in CRM System.
    5.2 Restarted TREX and connected this connection.
    5.3 Following are the visible column values for this connection in TREX Administration:
    >> Connection Status: <connected>
    >> Configuration Satus: Green
    >> SAP System: CRM
    >> RFC Destination: TREX_DEFAULT
    >> Gateway: local
    >> RfcServer Instances: 1 (no automatic changes)
    >> TREXRfcServer Processes: 1
    >> Workprocesses: 6 (4 DIA, 2BGD)
    5.4 Did a RFC Connection test in CRM System using SM59 which was successful as well.
    5.5 Using Transaction SRMO (Retrieval : Search Server Relation Monitor) in CRM System changed the RFC Destination for Search server ID DRFUZZY (for both I and S type RFC Server destination action) to TREX_DEFAULT. Did a connection test for this and it was successful.
    6. Initiated Replication using transaction COMM_PCAT_IMS_INIT with following params:
    >> Product Catalog: PCSHOP
    >> Variant: VAR_EN
    >> Search Server Relation:  DRFUZZY
    >> Publishing Computer ID:
    >> Allows Parallel Processing:
    >> Publish Documents via HTTP:
    >> Transfer Document Content: X
    >> Package Size of Indexing: 5,000
    >> Processing Existing Indexes: Overwrite Index Only When OK
    >> Behavior when Error Messages Occur: Cancel Variant Replication
    7. Logged into ISADMIN User Config (http://server:port/isauseradm/useradmin/init.do) and created a new user using the option New User and New Contact Person with an existing company of type Sold-To Party and which belongs to the sales area that is linked with PCSHOP Product Catalog (from IDES data).
    Now, when i log into B2B Page (http://server:port/b2b/b2b/init.do) using the newly created user and click on the shop PC4BIZ_EN i get following error message:
    The catalog that you have selected is currently unavailable; try again later
    I also created a new Product Catalog and did the Initial Replication still getting the same above error message.
    Can anyone please tell me what am i missing or what mistake i have done?
    I even restarted CRM System, but the result is still the same.
    Also, how do i check the log files for B2B? I checked the E-Commerce Admin Console (http://server:port/b2b/admin/index.jsp) and clicked on the logging link, but i get the following message:
    Logging is now configured centrally in the J2EE Engine Visual Administrator (server service: Log Configurator)
    How exactly do i configure and what is the right path for B2B Logging in J2EE Visual Administrator? And where will the log files for B2B be stored on the server?
    I would really appreciate (and of course award points) for your help on this.

    And regarding the error message i don't think it could be because of The Catalog variant is not set right in the Shopadmin application as all the values in Shopadmin seem to be correct. Anyhow following are the current values selected for the custom Product Catalog I created:

    Regarding the reason "The Catalog was not replicated properly and is hence unavailable on TREX", is there any way to verify this? When i ran Initial Replication (transaction COMM_PCAT_IMS_INIT with the values i said in my first post) everything was green.
    Also, how do i clear the Catalog Cache? Is it the same as clearing the Catalog Cache Statistics in E-Commerce Administration Console (http://server:port/b2b/admin/index.jsp)?

  • Setting up NWDI for E-Commerce 5.0 and getting" No component configured"

    Hi Experts,
    Our basis consultant recently installed NWDI. I am having trouble setting up a Track for our E-commerce development.
    If i try to save my track it gives the message "No component configured". When I try to setup my Runtime sytem and give the Development system name and  Message Server port, it gives the message " Message server could not be contacted".  Because of these errors it does not let me save any Track information.
    Domain  was not defined, so I defined a domain. But Please help in determining what other steps are still needed before i can create a track.

    If anyone knows how to get a user-entered custom value from the item level to a custom java class, please let me know.
    I'm still looking into how to extend the quote and allow for the re-use of it, if all the quantity on the line item has not been exhausted.
    I can easily add a custom field to the header of a .jsp and access that user entered value by coding against the requestParser.
    Example: Parameter xxx = requestParser.getParameter("customerHeaderParm");
    But, when I add a customer parameter to the item level of the .jsp, I cannot leverage the same to code and get at the user entered value. The value comes back as null.
    The two files I am working with are as follows: orderstatusdetail.jsp and Z_DocumentStatusOrderQuotAction, which is an extension of the standard class, DocumentStatusOrderQuotAction.
    I am working with the requestParser within the ActionForward isaPerform() method of Z_DocumentStatusOrderQuotAction. I need to get to those item level values BEFORE the order is created from the quotation.

    Hi guys! Please give me understanding on some issues. We want to develop corporate applications for private users, not for the Internet. And we want to let our Flex apps to work on iPad. Is it possible?
    1. Apple requires development of apps only on C and it's variations doesn't it?
    2. We don't want to publish our apps to Apple app store. So is it possible to have our own repository for downloading by iPad users?
    3. There are claims in docs that we can't test transformed apps on iOS simulator on Mac. Is there any way to test apps on environment relatively close to real device, excluding device itself?
    4. Is it possible to start developing without any charge to Apple or we should join their programs?

    I personally do not use Flex, but many people in the forums do. I work with Flash so my answers are based on my experiences and what I have read in the forums, but yes, you can use the CS5 software with the Packager for iPhone and develop for the iPad. I have done so with Flash, and others here have done so with the other software.

    Apple does permit Enterprise developers to have a private space to place apps that only their Enterprise users may download from.You must be signed up as an Enterprise Developer with them for this.

    This has been discussion in many threads about this but the only way to know for certain about performance is to put it on the device.

    Just join the program, it's really not that big a deal, and it's the only way to do everything you say you want to do. Besides, it gives you the ability to have access to all the iOS developer information, which is a big help to understanding how to make your non-C app work better.

  • Resource file (.xlf/properties) is not working in E-commerce

    Hi Experts,
    I am very new to SAP CRM E-commerce development.I changed one Resource file (.xlf) for lable changein SAP NWDS.After that i deployed my components in my server.But the total text are missing in entire application (e-shop).it is not displaying any texts i verfied config.xml and all.all the things are Ok,but i d't know why it is not working.its very unrgent .
    Please suggest me.

    Hi,
    In addition to the above answer by Toni Flückiger  check whether the properties are maintained in your specific language file too.
    Example: If you are modifying crm~b2b_resources.xlf maintain the same text in crm_b2b_resources_en.xlf too. If the application is picking the language as "en" then the properties are loaded from crm_b2b_resources_en.xlf and not from crm~b2b_resources.xlf

  • Commerce item in the order got deleted

    Hi,
    We have a production issue like customer placed an order and our fullfillment system which is a atg scheduler which invokes the order object and create flat file and send it to external system and while order loading we are missing the product information.
    We use the getOrderManager().loadOrder() to load the order during the load we got pipeline errors like failed in setCatalogRefId and orders lost the commerce item information from DB for some of the order.
    Did anybody faced this issue before if yes how you fixed this issue.

    ATG OOTB checks for user catalog and only allows you to order products in user's catalog. If you are calling OrderManager.loadOrder() from a scheduled service most likely it's finding the product out side user's catalog and hence removing it from order. If you want to load order from scheduler service use repository query (OrderRepository.getItem(pOrderId)) instead of OrderManager.loadOrder()

  • Develop does not display

    Just finished working on a job, removed it from the library like normal.
    Imported the next job, now Develop does not display the photos that are imported, it's just gray.
    Lightroom 2.2 523352
    XP Pro
    4GB RAM
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled, still the same, nothing is displayed in the Develop module.
    Suggestions please.

    More information. If I click on the arrow in the right of the screen to hide the Develop settings Quick Develop information bar (it's not displayed, just gray), then the picture displays.
    In the Library for whatever reason the Quick Develop information bar is in fact displaying, when it never used to.

  • Developing a report from data in CMC

    Hi,
    I do a daily monitoring task that is monitoring all the servers of Web Intelligence in production environment whose status is 'Success'. Source of the data is a BI system. After monitoring I have to manually calculate(using calculator) the time taken by each server to run and then I have to apply some maths in it. I just want to know that is there any functionality in Business objects so that I can develop a report from this data in CMC so that I don't have to do the calculation part manually? Because the quantity of servers is increasing every day this task is becoming very complex for me.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.

    Using BusinessObjects SDKs, you have two options
    1.To develop a .jsp file a deploy it on an application server(either default tomcat or inside the Admin Tools application context)
    2. To create a java program object and schedule the program object to have the output in desired format without the need to deploy it as a .jsp
    To better understand how you can use the sdks, refer to the dev and api guides available at http://help.sap.com
    Navigate to analytics--> buisnessObjects Platform(Enterprise) and go the the relavant product version and look for the development information section
    You can refer to the below documents to understand how you would be able to get the desired results, it doesnot contain all the information you see in the instance manager(as it was not designed for that purpose), however it would be a good starting point.
