E-mail attchemenst must be saved before they can be opened
My web mail (BT yahoo) used to allow me to "open" or "save" e-mail attachments. It now does forces me to save the file to my documents (or desktop) before I can open it. This happens even with common files such as Word (.doc) files and Excel files. I am using Windows XP and can still open attachments directly if I use Internet Explorer for web mail, so it appears to be a settings problem with Firefox

Documents must be saved before they can be merged - PS CS6
I'm getting a "Documents must be saved before they can be merged" error message while trying to auto stitch panos in PS CS6. As always, I've copied and imported images into LR5, then select images and "edit images in>PS CS6". From there go to Automate>Photomerge and "add open images", which produces the error message.
Until two days ago I've had no problems merging panos using this process. I had not made any changes to my system when this problem started occurring. Since then I have installed Mac and Adobe updates hoping to resolve the issue with no luck.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Photomerge "Images must be saved before they can be merged"
When I select the files to be merged and check off how they are to be merged I receive the message "Documents must be saved before they can be merged" and no type of saving or file type will proceed beyond this point no matter what I do. These are raw files saved specifically for merging following the rules for panoramas as outlined (overlap, level, manual settings, etc.). Other times everything moves along smoothly and the panorama is successful. I cannot find a commonality that defines success or failure of the procedure. Has anyone had this or a similar problem and how can it be resolved. Please do not just recite the proceedure as described in the manual. This procedure has been followed to the letter and still the problem exists.

I'm attempting to merge ten portrait format 24 Mpx JPGs. The message appears after I click "Add Open Files".
I get the same message when attempt to merge other files, even a small number of them.

Is it possible for FM V8 files to be saved so they can be opened and updated using FM V6.0?
Is there any way of saving a FM V8.0 file so it can be opened and updated by a user still running FM V6.0?
Many thanks.As for code mapping, there is a encode/decode package for the Perl scripting language which permits converting to/from unicode to nearly all codepages which have been in use on PC systems for the last some 20 years.
With a little script it should be possible to reliable transform the text portions of a MIF file.
If necessary, I'd be able to write such a script for a moderate fee.

I am using a MacBook Air, OS X ver 10.9.4, mail ver 7.3. Intermittently I can not open individual mails when double clicking on them. I must go out of mail and back in before mail will open.

I have an old ipod (5th gen) and I downloaded itunes to my toshiba computer. It says my ipod was formatted by mcintosh and must be restored before i can use on windows. is there a way to transfer my music? ty
Not without installing additional software on your computer. The problem is that your Windows PC cannot read the Mac's disk format. If the iPod was previously used on a Mac, its storage uses the Mac's disk format. The Restore process reformats the iPod's disk for use with Windows, but this erases its current content.
There are third-party products that allow Windows to read the Mac's disk format. For example

However, even if your computer is able to read the Mac's disk format, iTunes cannot be used to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). But there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
So, you may be able to do it by first making the iPod's disk readable on a Windows PC, and then using a method (that is not iTunes) to transfer its song files to your computer's drive. After the song files are on your computer, you can add them to the iTunes library. -

Why do I always get the message 'project must be rendered before it can be encoded' when I try to export using quicktime conversion to product an mpeg2 for DVD Studio Pro?
Beeeeeecause the project must be rendered before it can be encoded.
Based on my experience, this is the workflow you should use for going from Final Cut Pro to DVD:
1. Finish your project. You'd be amazed how many people forget this step.
2. Export a QuickTime reference movie. That is to say, do "Export" then "QuickTime Movie," but leave the "make self-contained" box unchecked.
3. Drop the resulting QuickTime onto Compressor.
4. Select one of the DVD encoding presets, based on the length of your material. Use one of these:
DVD: Best Quality 150 minutes
DVD: Best Quality 120 minutes
DVD: Best Quality 90 minutes
5. The encode will go as fast as it can, depending on how you set up Compressor. If you're using eight processors, it'll go pretty darned fast.
6. Drop the resulting ".m2v" and ".ac3" files onto the "assets" window in DVD Studio Pro. Place them on a track, and finish your DVD just like you would under any other circumstances. -
itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore iphone before it can be used with itunes.
Has anyone been able to restore their iphone after updating on itunes?Probably over 200 million people have been able to restore their phone after updating on iTunes. 400 million if you consider that many people have updated more than once.
Have you restored it as directed? I gather from the fact that you posted that you tried and something went wrong. If you post what you did and what went wrong, including the error message and error number, we can probably help get your phone running again. -
"movie must be rendered before it can be encoded"
Hey all...
I'm trying to export to mpeg2 or otherwise to Quicktime so I can burn a dvd.
Now with the first I get the message that "this movie must be rendered before it can be encoded"
in QT conversion with mpeg2 selected. There are no red lines indicating a rendering need.
I didn't have this problem when I first exported but when I added a mp3 file it started
acting this way.
Can somebody please let me know what the heck i'm now doing wrong?

AnnRed is only one type of render set. There are many others. Make sure full is checked on in Render All and then press Opt-R.
It would be good to know what versions of the software, QuickTime and OS you're using. MPEG-2 export is no longer available in FCP.
Compressed audio like MP3 should not be used in Final Cut. -
We are developing a long time running windows service which is monitoring an email account with EWS API 2.2. The connection interval is the maximum allowed value 30 minutes, and thus the connection is reopened inside the OnDisconnect event handler every
30 minutes. After the service keeps on running for couple of days (1 day or 2 or more), the error happens:

iPad mini will not let me access mail after latest software update, 6.1.2, seems to want me to sign in, but whenever I type my Id ad password it just says that the mail account already exists.. Still can't open my mail!

Can a book in iBooks have its own passcode before it can be opened? (I wrote a book in IBook Author and exported it to IBooks. Need passcode for privacy reasons).

I can create documents in Mavericks Pages and Keynote. When I attach them to an email and send to others also using Mavericks, they can't open the attachments. Why might this be?
The new Pages v5 (Mavericks) uses a new file format with the same extension name (.pages). Older versions of Pages cannot open these documents unless you first export them as Word (.docx) and send these as Mail attachments. The same is true if you originate an IOS Pages v2.01 .pages document.
You may be sending to people who chose not to install Pages v5 on Mavericks and continue to use Pages ’09 v4.3 instead — especially for the superset of features that are presently not in Pages v5. -
