E-Mail with embeded pictures

I have received E-mails with embeded pictures.When I go to forward them, the text appears, but the pictures are lost.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sunday,
One way to see if a picture is actually attached to your email, rather than being shown through HTML, is to see if Mail shows an attachment with the "save" and "slideshow" buttons at the top part of the mail.
Clicking on "slideshow" will show you all the pictures attached to the mail.
Another thing you can do is to choose View > Message > Raw Source from the menu. This will show you the raw code for your mail.
If the pictures are showing up because of html, you'll see some code like:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="Microsoft Word 97">
<TITLE>Page title </TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY LINK="#0000ff" VLINK="#800080">
<a href="http://www.dummyaddress.com/docs/newsletter/0906/">
<img src="http://www.dummyaddress.com/docs/newsletter/0906/online0906-large.gif" width="700" height="3785" border="0">
</a>
</BODY>
</HTML>
If it's there, it means when you are forwarding the mail you're not forwarding pictures, just code; furthermore, Mail doesn't do HTML at this point, so the code won't work in your forwarded mail.

• Missing Text in mails behind embedded pictures

Hello :)
writing a mail with the standard ios 6 mail-app with embedded pictures just fails:
I write some text, then I add a picture by using the "add picture" option of the mail-app. Then I continue my text after the picture, then adding a second picture, and so on.
The result is, that the Mail contains the first text followed by all added pictures, but the text between resp. after the pictures is gone.
In my sense it is a bug and not a feature, or perhaps I've not set the right settings?!
Alechseij

There is no setting to have "right" or "wrong" in this case. What I mean is that it works regardless of any settings because there are settings to control the feature. So ... You can't have a setting wrong.
Try hitting the return key twice after each entry. After you enter your text, hit return twice, add the photo, hit return twice and so on. See if that works - just as a test.
And are you sure that all of your text isn't going down to the bottom of the email?
Did you try any basic troubleshooting? Quit the mail app completely. Reboot the iPad.....
Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Have you tried storing your picture as a business document?  Have a look at the class  cl_bds_document_set to read your picture from the BDS.

• Create mails with embedded pix ?

When I attach a pic to an email, it's an attachment that won't even be shown inline within MS Outlook. Outlook, on the other side, can create HTML mails; Mail.app creates RTF mails.
How can I create mails with embedded pix - like e.g. Apple's newsletters, iTMS gift notifications...
Thanks a lot

• I can open e-mails with a picture attachement on my MAC, but not on my iPAD

I Can open my AOL e-mails with picture attachments on my MAC, But they will on open on my iPad2. I get a message that says, mixed media and cannot open. Is there some setting I need to change on the iPad2?

What format are the photos in? Are they jpeg format? They should open if they are, but the message "mixed media" makes me question what the format is.

• Why do I get an attaching message when sending a message with embedded pictures.

Sometimes when I try to send a message with embedded images, I get a message stating "Status: Attaching . . . with a green Progress: bar that appears to be 100% but still running". The problem is that it never goes away and the message is never sent.

Do you have MMS turned on? Do you have a data connection?

• How to paste an email to site with embedded pictures in original places in text

I have a wonderful web site using Contribute 2. In what I
thought was an unrelated issue, I have been trying to get emails I
sent using AOL to my desktop or website so I can burn them on a CD.
The issue is that these are a series of 12 long letters, each with
from 10 to 34 images embedded in the letter. As of now, because AOL
does not have a rich text extension for saving letters, I am not
able to copy and paste the letters onto my website or to my
desktop. The text gets separated from the pictures into two
separate files. The original letters are stored on AOL but I cannot
get them anywhere intact except as emails. I was hoping I could
open a page on my website just to download the letters and access
them though a web address.
Can this be done? My try resulted in my pasting only the
text. Can you help? I am not technically sophisticated, so please
be kind.

Srinivas, Thanks for your quick reply.
This is smartform, and sending the output as pdf, except the the first page on which I have the text to be printed on the email body. In this email body text I have to display an email.
when user clicks on the email should open an outlook with the email id in the TO. Hope this helps.
Thank you,
Surya

• I have a HP TouchSmart desktop. My question is - when I receive an e-mail with a picture in the

I have a HP TouchSmart desktop,  My question is - how do I print out a picture when it's in the body of the e-mail.  I only want to print the picture but  every time I try, I get the message and no picture.  What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, June

Here is one way of doing it. Left click on picture, list opens click on save as. In next window box apears save as type PNG(*.png). Then go to my pictures and print picture from there. I am not sure what print target is? That is in the list also. That may be how it is directly printed. Never used that short cut. Try it and see. I know for sure saving it to file works.

• When I send a mail with a picture I get from 4 to 17 in return to my trash can.

What ca I do to avoid having from 4 to 17 copies of one mail sent with a photo added, returning to my trash basket in addition to one filed as a draft?

Thank you, I find how to solve the problem thanks to your link.
I try to send HTML E-mail so I had the From in the from field writen in the header of the mail and not to initialize the connection.

• Read mails with embedded screenshot and .msg attachment

Hi Folks,
Requirement : Fetch emails from an email box and store it in Oracle Database for further processing.
Issue faced : 1) I am unable to fetch the screenshot embedded in the email. I tried fetching them as an attachment, but when I try to open the attachment its throws an error.
                        2) When an email with .msg attachment is received, the disposition and file name are read as null and hence the attachment is not read.
I tried searching on net but all that I see is how to send such emails and not fetch one .
Can any one please guide me through this?
Thanks
Rajitha@

What program is being used to send the messages with attachments?
If you read the message using (e.g.) Thunderbird and save the attachment, is it correct?
If possible, use the JavaMail msgshow.java sample program to read the message and save the attachments.  Does that work correctly?
If none of that helps you figure out the source of the problem, I'm going to need more details to help you debug it.  I'm going to need to see the part of your code that saves the attachment, the debug output when your program reads the message and saves the attachment, and possibly a sample message with attachment that demonstrates the problem.  It's probably easier to send that information to me at [email protected]

• Annoying behavior when opening mail with embedded images

When I open an email that have embedded images within it, I am finding that Mail is always seizing control of the scrolling and is forcing the mail message to return to the top of the page. This happens while I am scrolling though the message and repeats until the message is fully loaded. Does anyone know if there is a work-around or solution to this problem? I find it very annoying, especially if it's a message I don't really care about.
Thanks!

I am having the same problem, and would love to know an answer for this, too.

• Embedded Pictures Not Showing

When I receive mail with embedded pictures, sometimes they do not show. I just logged into the webmail for my provider, and everything shows perfectly in the mail. In Mail, there are no attachments in this latest E-mail, but my webmail shows all of the attachments. How can I ensure that my Mail application on my MacBook displays images properly?

It was an executable file.

• Embedded pictures in g-mail do not get thru when forwarded. Google claims it's a browser problem. how do I fix this?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, Firefox 3.6.16
This problem started up about 4 months ago. I thought it was a Google problem, but Google claims it's a browser problem. The same problem happens with Internet Explorer. I checked the Google website and many people are having this same problem. And Google is totally unresponsive.
Attached pictures go thru fine, but if I get an e-mail from someone with embedded pictures in the message, when I forward that message, the receiver does not get the pictures...only a red X in a blank box.
How can this be fixed?

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

• Received emails with embedded .jpg

I updated to Leopard and when I receive mail with embedded .jpg attachments the location of the attachment is generally shown as a small square with a question mark in it in the body of the email. The attachments are there but they are clustered at the bottom of the email instead of in the locations they should be.
Is there a setting somewhere that I am overlooking?

Could Apple have recently increased its security to block unwanted SPAM, and now my computer thinks this email is SPAM?
