E-mailed pics

I got an e-mail from my brother in law with a picture attached. I can open it and view it. How can I save it and make it my wallpaper? any ideas?

Not possible with the iPhone at the present time but assuming you are accessing the same email account with an email client on your Mac, you can add this photo to iPhoto on your Mac and then transfer the photo to the iPhone via an iTunes sync.

  • IPhoto pics and Mail pics saved at low rez

I just got the new MacBook Pro!  And the strangest thing is happening.  I'm not sure even where to post it.
My photos are all coming in as low resolution now.  For example, I recieve two photos in a Mail email.  They display 'medium' size.  I Save to desktop or drag and drop and they are quite 'small' sized there.  Can't save the full size.
Also, iPhoto asked to update my Library when I opened it the first time on this MacBook Pro.  I updated and now, most of my photos are resized to be smaller/lower resolution too!  Photos that were once fun to display as my Wallpaper are now way too small to enjoy that anymore.
What happened to my high quality photos and why can't I save high resolution pics to my desktop from Mail?  Hmmmm...

Quit iPhoto and drag your iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the External Hard Drive, depress the option key and launch iPhoto - select the library on the EHD -- be sure to option launch and switch back when done - iPhoto always opens the last used library when you launch it

  • Mysterious sent mail pic files disappearing?

    Hi,
this keeps happening to me with mail app. I'll send an attachment or pic file and after its sent it reside in my "sent" folder briefly. I go to see later what I sent and its gone, no where to be found. and then i'm stumped on whether I sent it or not. This does not happen with a text email, just with attachments.
Is there a way to reset the mail app?
    any info will be helpful,
    John

In the Finder, open Home/Library/Mail/Mailboxes and locate the Outbox.mbox folder. Either delete that folder, or open its Messages folder and see if this message is hanging around there, and delete it.

  • E-Mailing pics from iPhone (kinda weird)...

Whenever I attach pics to outgoing email with the iPhone if I access them from mail account via my computer (so save them to my pc, etc) all of the file names seem to be "securedownload", I don't understand why the file names of my photos are being changed to "securedownload"? It's extremely annoying when I have to sit here and rename files when they were already named correctly be begin with. I don't recall this happening before...I just got a iPhone 3GS...it's been a while since I last used one.
Any ideas? If there is a fix for this I'd like to know what it is. That's just really strange to rename files "securedownload."

    You do that.
I don't access a Yahoo account with the iPhone's Mail client, and I send photos often with both email accounts that I access with the iPhone's Mail client. The name of a photo attachment has never been changed with any of the photos I've sent - for over two years now. I just sent a photo with the iPhone's Mail client and I downloaded the email with an email client I use on my computer. The name of the photo attachment was not changed to "securedownload". This is different from accessing the account via webmail access, so I accessed the account via webmail. The name of the attachment was not changed there either.
A common problem with this thread is a Yahoo account.

    And the same here.

I didn't see a single post in either thread mentioning the iPhone's Mail client, but a Yahoo account definitely was mentioned.

  • Downloaded PSE 9, photo mail stopped working in PSE 7, help!

With some trouble I was able to download trial version PSE 9.  I already had PSE 7.  I attempted to e-mail pics using photo mail in PSE 9.  I had to select e-mail system and it would send a confirmation number.  No number arrived.  Went back to PSE 7 and it stopped working.  How do I fix this?

I am having the same problem.  i am running Windows 7 64 bit and upgraded from
elements 8 to elements 9 and now i get the cursed 'unhandled exception error about halfway through running 'Photo Mail'.  It crashes when the program tries to load the border templates.  Very annoying!
    can anyone please help?
    thank you.

  • How do I get my pics off Itouch??

Hello. All of my pictures were on my ibook, that died. I had them synced on my itouch. I am trying to get them off my itouch, onto my PC now, but they don't show up when connected, i guess because they are synced. my itouch is an older OS, so i can't just email them to myself. The pictures are of a deceased family member, and i would like to have them for my mother on x-mas, and my itouch is so old, apple is trying to charge me just to talk to their reps. please help! thanks -Andrew

You can e-mail pics from any ipod touch.
Did you not backup your important pics?
The photo sync is one way - computer to ipod. You can e-mail them to yourself.
You could try a 3rd party app as well, but this is not supported nor endorsed by Apple.

  • Doesn't recognize user name/password combo when trying to send pics from i photo? Help!?!?, doesn't recognize user name/password combo when trying to send pics from i photo? Help!?!?

  • Pictures in mail ipad

Why don't pictures open in mail on my iPad.
The same mail pics open on my iPhone.

In Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calenders - there is a slider for Load Remote Images. Is that turned on?

  • Transfer Pics fm iPhone to PC

I know I can e-mail pics from my iPhone to myself to get them on my computer. However, you can only e-mail one pic at a time. I just came back from a trip and I have 65 pics on my iPnone. How do I get them onto my computer ?
    richie

Connect iPhone to your computer. In iTunes, select iPhone in the sidebar, then click the Summary tab. Deselect “Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected.” You can always sync by clicking the Sync button.
Prevent automatic syncing for all iPhones and iPods:
In iTunes choose iTunes > Preferences (on a Mac) or Edit > Preferences (on a PC), click Devices, and select “Disable automatic syncing for all iPhones and iPods.”
If this checkbox is selected, iPhone won’t sync automatically, even if “Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected” is selected in the Summary pane.
BTW; On a Mac, iPhone photo's don't sync onto Mac automatically, (unless using iCloud or something). They will back up onto your Mac if that is checked though.
    Hope it helped you.

  • Retrieve "Mail" Password?

It appears that iPhoto '11 requires my entering my password from "Mail" in order to e-mail pics!
My password is shown (.....) at Mail | Preferences | Accounts.
How can I transfer this password to the iPhoto e-mail program?
I'm assuming that my not having entered the password in iPhoto is the explanation for e-mails not being sent.
But... I don't know this for sure

I'm guessing you've forgotten your password?
If you open the Keychain Access app., which you will find in your Utilities folder (Applications/Utilities) select All Items in the lefthand pane, then in the search bar, type Mail, you will see all the passwords associate with Mail.
Double-click the appropriate one. You'll be asked for you password ... this means you Login password. If you don't have one, leave it blank. You will be able to receive your Mail password from the Dialog that appears.

  • Post 2.2 - Why Are Some of My Pictures Blurry?

I was wondering if there was a reason why some of the pictures I had synced to my phone (not taken with my phone), which were crisp images prior to 2.2, now blurry? Did something change in the way it handles photos that don't exactly fit the screen size/resolution? Do I have to go and alter the original images to match the screen size and re-sync the photos back to my phone? Thanks for any help.

Apple needs to make this problem go away as fast as possible. How could they let something like this slip through?
The only argument a person could make in defense of the lack of MMS on this device was the ability to e-mail pics to and from the phone. This bug has crippled that defense and crippled the iPhone.
I know Apple was in a rush to get the 2.2 software out on the same day the Blackberry Storm dropped...but c'mon.

  • I sync'd my phone to a different computer and lost everything

I sync'd my phone to my work computer and lost everything. I have everything backed  up on my computer at home. How do I restore my contacts, apps, calendar, mail,  pics, ect?

Thanks for the link Eric - I guess I should have been more clear on my response. I also sync to two different computers, but for two different things - one is for photos, and the other is for everything else. I did not know, however, that you could actually sync music from two different computers....
I'm thinking that I have the Manually Manage option on so it does not automatically start syncing when I connect, but didn't know that one could drag and drop songs rather than just clicking on the Sync button when ready to sync....
    Thanks for the education!
    Cheers,

  • New feature request -- more flexibility in file management

I'm new to iPhoto and hope someone can help.
I have a large, existing image database (5000+) that I'd like to migrate into iPhoto. I have an established organizational flow where I use a third-party utility to rename my files using the EXIF date as YYYY.MM.DD_000X.JPG (where "X" is a serial number than is incremented automatically). The photos are then organized into a Finder folder hierarchy using YYYY/MM.
If in Preferences I check "Copy files to iPhoto library folder" then iPhoto copies all my files to the "iPhoto Library" folder, doubling the disk space consumed. That's a substantial percentage of my Mac Mini's hard drive capacity! Worse, iPhoto arbitrarily organizes the imported files into year 2000 and year 2005 folders, without creating folders for 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, or 2006. So if I import additional images in the future I have no control over how it will be organized in the Finder. My organizational scheme and workflow are hosed!
If in Preferences I UNcheck "Copy files to iPhoto library folder" then I lose other necessary functionality. For example, if I delete a file in iPhoto the actual file WON'T be deleted from the disk (even after "Emptying the Trash" in iPhoto). I verified this several times. The file structure on the disk and iPhoto's library will get out of synch unless I manually delete in both places, which is unmanageable if you delete a lot of photos! It also wastes disk space.
Can't Apple simply add a "Monitor folders" feature like Photoshop Elements and many other programs have which automatically detects when files are added or deleted from the directory structure the library points to? This would be soooo much better than forcing iPhoto users to live with the kind of frustrating trade-offs described above.
iPhoto is the 3rd or 4th image editing program I've tried over the years. I WANT to like iPhoto because I really like my Mac Mini, but the reality is I may at some point want to move on to something better. If I use iPhoto it appears I either have to live with losing control of my organizational structure or losing basic functionality like having photos deleted from the disk.
Am I missing something here? Is there a workaround so that I can get what I want from iPhoto?
    Thanks!
    Phil
Mac Mini Dual Core   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hi Phil
    Welcome to the iPhoto discussions.
First thing to remember is that everything you want to do, all the organisation takes place within the iPhoto window. Ignore what goes on in the iPhoto Library folder, you simply never, ever have to do any work in there. In fact it is strongly recommended that you never touch or change anything there as it will profoundly affect the running of the app.
Given the above, you can import your pics into iPhoto and then Trash your originals. Yes, once you are happy that iPhoto has taken all the pics in, you can throw away your originals, this eliminates the problem of the doubled-up disk space. But, you may ask, what if I want to keep my originals. iPhoto does this for you. If you edit or alter a pic in iPhoto you can always revert to the original as iPhoto keeps the original.
<<So if I import additional images in the future I have no control over how it will be organized in the Finder. My organizational scheme and workflow are hosed!>>
Yes it is, totally done for - because you are not organising the pics in the finder any more, you're organising them in iPhoto.
You can organise pics in just about any way imaginable in iPhoto: by date, by time, by keyword, by ratings by a combination of them all. Want to find the pics taken in June 2003, no problem. Want to find only the pics of your dog taken in June 2003? No problem if you use keywords. Want to find all the pics of your dog that don't have your cat taken any month in 2003 except June? You get the picture.
Drag a folder of pics to the Source pane in iPhoto, it will create an album. You can recreate you current system in iPhoto quite easily, and then improve upon it. Keywords are particularly powerful, as are smart albums. I have a library of over 8,000 pics, and as I import them I add keywords. With a smart album I can find every pic of my daughter that I have, and as I add more they get added to the smart album automatically.
You can still continue to rename your files in whatever way is meaningful to you prior to importing. That doesn't have to change. Just do it prior to importing to iPhoto. The you can use Spotlight to find a pic called 2003.10.23_004.
Or you can just drag it from the iPhoto window to your desktop and it makes a copy - your original is still safe. You can e-mail pics from within iPhoto and so on.
The most important thing to remember is that your organisation is done within iPhoto. It does the heavy lifting.
If anything I've said is unclear, don't hesitate to come back and ask more.
    Regards
    TD
