-E option broken? Studio 12

I have code that does not work with Studio 12. This could easily be a problem with the code, as it has been in the past. So build the code with a -E. In the past, I could build the output file. With the new compiler, I get the following errors. Suggestions?

Compilation aborted, too many Error messages.

Looking at the compile option, it does say the output is not supported as input to the compiler for templates. That might be my scenario. Simple test cases work, so I am trying this out some more.

When storing the options, I get this error :

The error seems to be caused by Fuego.Server.storePropertyFor since I don't get the last "logMessage".
I created objects, methods, and screenflow similar to those in the demo.
Comparing with the log generated by the demo, the difference is :

I think it might be something simple to fix.
Open the Expense Reimbursement project again. Open either of the two methods in the Catalog's BusinessComponents.ProcessOptions that store and retrieve the Fuego.Server properties.
On the right side (to the right of the Variables tab), open the Properties tab. Note that both of these methods have their "Server Side Method" properties set to "Yes".
Make sure that your BPM Object's method's Server Side Method" property is set to "Yes" and I think you should be Okie Dokie.

8kHz sample rate option broken for stream sounds in CS5

I've made several test files where all I do is add a sound to a keyframe, set it to Stream sound, add a sufficient number of frames to hear the sound (about 300), then change publish settings to override as MP3 with "use 8kHz sample rate" option.
Testing movie yields a SWF that has NO SOUND at all.
Changing the sound to Event sound and republishing PLAYS THE SOUND AS EXPECTED.
Changing it back to Stream sound and turning off the "use 8kHz sample rate" option again yields a SWF that has NO SOUND at all.
It seems to make no difference what sound I import and use.
I'm on a Mac Octocore.
This Publish Setting appears to be broken in Flash CS5.

The only setting that I could find in compressor that lets your change the bitrate to 44.1 is when you create a new dolby digital setting and then under the inspectors audio tab/Target System button, change the button to Generic AC-3. When done, you can change the Sample Rate to 44.1.

just found out the new version CS4 is near realease... unfortunately the version I own studio mx version 6 isn't included in the upgrade options. If I upgrade to cs3 now, does that enable me to upgrade without cost to cs4? The details on this seem hard to find

Is the Autofill "Choose songs randomly" option broken?

I am absolutely certain this is a new thing (bug): as soon as I select the "Choose Songs Randomly" in the autofill panel whatever playlist I choose in the autofill popup menu replaces all the content of my iPod Shuffle.
The "Replace All When Autofill" option is disabled (unchecked), but still, checking the "Choose Songs Randomly" wipes out everything on the Shuffle.
To put it another way, It is now impossible to fill the Shuffle with multiple playlists while in autofill mode if one wants random songs from those playlists. It is now a matter of getting either random songs from ONE playlist or compulsory alphabetical sorting for TWO playlists (or more).
The "Choose Songs Randomly" has always worked as expected before tonight (I have not updated my shuffle playlist for a while, so I can't say which specific update broke the option...
So, for the time being, the only way for me NOT to wipe out all there is on the Shuffle is to load songs manually OR disable (uncheck) all autofill options, including the "Choose Songs Randomly" option.
The result of this bug is that Autofill now chooses songs in alphabetical order and I have to randomize the list manually OR delete artists that are overbearing on the shuffle playlist.
Am I the only one experiencing this "Random wipe out"? Or have any of you found a solution to this that you can share? Could not find a mention of this problem after an extended search on the Forums...

Yes, to answer my own question, the feature is broken in the French version of iTunes (6.0.3): the labels identifying the buttons are inverted if you compare to the Englis version, although the functions themselves remain the same...
For all I know, the buttons labels have always been inverted due to the length of the French label. "Remplacer tous les morceaux lors du remplissage automatique" being too long for the spave alloted to it in the Englis version. So i guess someone forgot about that and just mapped the English function on the French label.

I just came across the same issue! Tried to exchange a defective Studio model and the serial numbers did not match! How do know if Best Buy is not selling refurbished / fake headphones. I'm very disappointed with the service and quality of the headphones. I will be sure to let my friends and followers to avoid Best Buy / Beats. It's worth mentioning the fact that Steve - Assistant Manager seemed genuinely concern about that issue. Nice guy but he doesn't have the tools / authority to make a customer who spends thousands @ Best Buy whole. I don't mind taking my biz to Amazon

Adobe Reader 10.1.2 duplex option broken

After installing the latest upgrade to 10.1.2, Adobe Reader X fails to print single pages, when the "Print on both sides of paper" option is selected. It gives no error message, but nothing prints, and the printer queue is empty.
Is this a new problem? Or is it just because the option was selected by default after I upgraded? I don't usually choose duplex printing, when there is only 1 page, but I would still expect it to print the page.

Open EXR Channel Caching Options Broken?

Hi!
It's been awhile! Nice to be back on the ole' stomping grounds!
I'm a bit confused as to where the Open EXR channel caching functionality has gone. If I select my 32-bit Open EXR sequence in the project window and choose to interpret it, when I click on "more options", I don't get any floating window with which to populate settings. I have the most recent version of ProEXR installed (not that it should matter, I believe). I'm using the latest version of Mavericks, and the most up-to-date CC edition. I've even tried editing the preferences manaully, but I get an error thrown back when I try to launch AE with the modified preferences:
FWIW, I tried shooting Brendan an email, but haven't heard back. Is this a known issue?

That problem is clear from your screenshots. Notice that the quotes around your edited values are curly left/right quote characters, not the standard straight quotes. This is because in Mac OS 10.9, Apple enables some "Smart" Substitutions on by default.
In TextEdit, choose Edit > Substitutions > Smart Quotes to disable this for a single document. Open the TextEdit preferences to disable it by default for that application. To disable it for all applications, System Preferences > Keyboard> Text.
In regards to your actual problem, this is not a known issue. When you click the More Options button, could the dialog possibly be hidden or off-screen? Does After Effects stop responding to clicks at that point, but pressing Enter or Escape on the keyboard puts you back in a working state?
Have you tried resetting the After Effects preferences and/or plist file?
Is this only a problem with a particular EXR sequence, or does the problem occur with all EXR sequences? What about a single EXR file?

Store would not take back by broken studio beats cause the serial number and box didnt match

so i went to return my studio wireless beats today cause the right side volume was not working. the waterword lakes store manager would not take them cause the box and headphones serial numbers did not match and accused me and having more than one pair. These are the only beats i own and have ever owned they were bought online from best buy and box was sealed by my wife. so how would you ever know the serial numbers dont match? Open it in front of a best buy manager before you leave?? said for me to call beats myself. So $360 bucks down the drain? They were probably refurbed and boxed during black friday is my guess. not good best buy

Pro Cam pictures problem - reframing option broken

Ok not the best description of a problem! But let me tell you what has happened.
I took some 200 photos on my new Lumia 1020 on a recent holiday in Ibiza using Pro Cam (5mp & 34mp mode). When I got home I *moved* all of these photos (both "pro" and "pro_hires") off the phone because my plan was to use my PC to review and only keep the best photos on the phone. I then copied the "pro" and "pro_hires" versions of the keepers back onto my phone. Now the problem..... in the Gallery these photos are no longer recognised as being taken by Pro Cam (you only see the 5mp versions). I'm really quite disappointed by this - if appears that if you take them off the phone and put them back again then Pro Cam will not recognise them and you lose all the reframe "zoom later" functionality.
Just to summarise , I have copied both 5mp and 34mp versions of some photos back into the Camera Roll folder (which is where I orignally found them using my PC) but Pro Cam does not recoginise them as being taken by the the app.

Studio 8 and Academic full version Web standard Suite - Adobe support contradictory

I received contradictory info from Adobe and that after they shipped out my purchase and I just received it today in the mail.
I have at home the commercial Studio 8.
I purchased the Academic full version CS4 Web Standard. (it was cheaper then the commercial upgrade from Studio 8 to CS4 Web Standard suite and even Adobe Telephone Customer Care suggested me to do).
Before I purchased it I asked by phone with the Customer Care
- Upgrade possibilities : Adobe confirmed as follows :
      ° commercial upgrade from Studio 8 to CS4 Web standard Suite
      or
      ° academic full version of CS4 Web Standard suite (as the academic store has no upgrades)
      or
     ° in case I only want Dreamweaver (an not the Fireworks and Flash) then I needed to purchase a Full version of the Stand Alone CS4 Dreamweaver
- the possibility of still be able to use both versions (the old one and the new one)
Adobe telephone support confirmed to me also that both versions Studio 8 and the CS4 Suite Web standard could be installed on the same desktop and that I could keep on using Studio 8 aswell.
Anyhow Adobe Telephone Customer Care advised me to purchase the Full Acadamic Version of CS4 Web Standard as then I would have the new version of all my programs of Studio 8 for a better price. Moreover they confirmed to me that later on I could upgrade this academic version via the commercial store if there should be a CS5 or so.
Some of you on this forum told me the same about the upgrade from Studio 8
As advised on this forum for double check I launched the same question on 27/5 to the Adobe Customer Portal on the internet and received only today (15 days later) an answer which is contradictory to what Adobe Customer Care told me on the phone.
Now they say that an upgrade from Studio 8 is not possible at all and that I only can use a CS4 Dreamweaver Stand alone version.
And that both versions Studio 8 and CS4 Dreamweaver / CS4 Web Standard cannot be used on the same computer. I need to uninstall the old version.
On the Adobe website you can even click on a link to show you the commercial upgrade options from Studio 8 and CS4 Web Standard Suite is one of them.
Now either the Customer Portal has totally misunderstood my question or the Customer Care by phone misinformed me.
But with this contradictory info and my shipment received, I'm full of doubts about the info from Adobe.
Can somebody help putting the light in this darkness?

Or a full academic version as there are no upgrades in the academic store.
So I did the right thing already by purchasing the full Academic version .
Good to hear I can use both suite on 1 PC. Oufffff!
Cause for my old project(website) I still want to use Studio 8.   And for the new projects I start with CS4.
Once I can work fluently with CS4 I can import the the old project and continue with CS4.

[SOLVED] Cower fails to build

I've recently enabled [testing], and received pacman upgrade which installed libalpm.so.9, but cower was built against libalpm.so.8 on my system. First thought - rebuild cower. Unfortunately I received the following error:

I tried moving the directory and using the default, which produced the following error:

The maintainer of cower just updated the package and his signature and now everythin is working.
As of today I'm having the same issue as you did. Did the maintainer change the gpg key back to the not working one?
I can't seem to get it added to my keyring for some reason.
EDIT: when I add the key 1EB26.. to my pacman-key it shows that nothing changed and the key seems to be fine.
But when I build the package it tells me that the key is an unknown public key.

Patches and SunSolve

I have already mentioned in a couple of previous postings that, I am trying to install
studio 11 on a system on which Forte Developer 7 is already installed.
My question is, if I install studio 11 , is it still necessary for me to run
"version libC*" command under /usr/lib directory in order to check whether latest
patches are installed or not ?
I am under the impression that : I need not , as I am installing Sun studio 11 which is
the latest studio available. Can any body please confirm this ?
In case I am supposed to check whether latest patches are installed or not, the document says
I need to register myself with SunSolve. When I tried to register myself with SunSolve it asked me to
enter Service Plan. But I am not sure which Service plan I should enter . Can any body help me ?

When you install Sun Studio 11, you have the option of also installing the required Solaris patches. You should accept that option, because Studio 11 will not run properly if the requried patches are not present. The patch installer will update a file only if it is a newer version than the one already on the system.
Some of the patches are for system libraries like the C++ runtime libraries. There is only one copy of each of these libraries on the system, installed in /usr/lib, and shared by all compilers and programs that need them. Old compilers can use new versions of these libraries, so it is always safe to install the newest patch.
Sun's upport model for free Solaris and free compilers is that most patches require a support contract. The current exceptions are security patches, patches for Sun Studio, and Solaris patches required by Sun Studio.

you should be able to follow the links to the Sun Studio and required Solaris patches, and download them directly.

Need advice on monitors

I am trying to purchase a monitor that will work with a MacBook Pro Retina (current model) and I am completely confused. I've seen people like the Dell Ultras or hate them. People complaining about lag time, etc. I just want a display that will give me 2560 x 1440, and I can surf the Net, do word processing, look at video and some very non expert working with photos. I may end up with an Air again, but I'm buying the monitor first, so I want to handle any possible future. I have the late 2012 iMac 27" right now, so something comparable without paying an arm and a leg.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ther are lots of options for studio monitors. how much do you plan to spend? "project-studio" type monitors start around $300.00/pr. & go up to about $1200.00/pr. Pro monitors start around $1600.00/pr. & go to $3,000.00+/pr.
i have a pr. of Alesis M-one MKii. i wouldn't use monitors w/ less than a 6.5 inch woofer & 60 watt amp to drive it. check out your local pro audio/music store.

SDM error!

I have installed WAS 6.20 and J2EE server (90 days trial edition) on my machine. After starting J2EE server, I opened Netweaver studio and created a web dynpro application. In the window->preferences option of Studio, I have defined J2EE server settings but I couldnt find anything for SDM. While building the application I am getting an error that SDM is not defined.
Does anybody know how and where to define it?
