E71 MicroSD problem

Yesterday (21 Nov) between 0800-1600 hrs lost the following from my SD card in my E71: all Quickoffice docs (word, spreadsheet, pdf including a copy of the E71 manual), Google maps, Yahoo news, Youtube, Worldmate, SPD TV although the application manager said all were still installed not one was to be found. Logs showed they were installed and used, but the applications and documents are gone. Logged into/connected to computer (Win7) and could not find those documents/files anywhere on the Micro disk. Did not upgrade, but only used the phone to make a couple calls, take one picture and send it and downloaded a couple of podcasts to listen to. As a Sunday do not expect any service update from my provider and no log showed any such update (E71 not fully supported, but got it working and has worked fine for the past 15 months). 400 level firmware. Interestingly with the E71 connected to the computer - OVI maps (3.03) worked for the first time in months - error message was that with the Micro card locked it would have to use the phone - all locations were viewable etc. Normally OVI maps just flicks on and off - does nothing which is why loaded Google maps which has worked well. Also logged into a Linux computer to see if would see anything different on the card - just saw more logs and data in the private section. If no ideas, will have to reload some data via the backups.

remove the sim card and check if the phone sees the micro SD.
I have the same problem.
If the phones sees the memory card with no sim in it, then you are facing the same problem as me.
The solution that i found is the decrease the thikness of my sim and it worked.

E71 - SEVEN Problems - Please Help

Hello ladies and gentlemen. I have a Nokia E71 running Symbian OS 60 3rd Edition.
I have been using SEVEN for several months now and it worked fine (with push e-mails arriving almost instantly everyday). The number of unread emails showed up on my home screen as "[email protected] (1)".
I reinstalled it today because my phone was having problems. After reinstalling SEVEN (and paying 15 of those international text messages), it does not even push any e-mails at all anymore.
After I installed SEVEN, I rejected to sync my Contacts and Calendar and when it says checking email, it just stays at 0% forever.
If anyone could please help me, that would be great. I've already spent a few dollars to no avail! Thanks!

What has SEVEN's technical support said about the issue?
With it being their program they are the best people to ask about this problem.

E71 date problem with alarm on working days

I've a E71 (firmware : 110.07.127)
I use the alarm function to wake up me during the week. There is no alarm on week-end. I switch of my phone off every night and on the week end when on saturday i switch it on the date is the friday date. The time is the good one.
It's a problem because this morning my phone alarm does't work and when i turn my phone on the date was the last sadurday one

Nokia 3110 microSD problem

Hi i have a problem with my nokia 3110 classic.
I have a microSD card that worked just fine for 3 days after that i turned my phone off and when i wanted to start it i get the nokia logo the menu appears and then restarts again this is does for 5 times then the phone is off again. I just can't start my phone now. I tried diferent microSD cards and the same problem.
What could i do ?
my microSD is Kinsgton 1G but as i said the problem is the same with different microSD's.
If i take out my microSD the phone starts ok. And it worked for 3 days like. It is possible to have a virus or something ? And another thing how can i rewrite my software ( i have the latest version instaled but mabye a software rewrite will make the phone work ok)

I also have this problem. Phones4u denied they sold any phone with a generic fault. From this forum it seems they are definately wrong.
I just can't be bothered to go into a care centre to get a line a lies about how I am doing something wrong. They said I needed a nokia card. I got one and it still did not work. They suck.
It is not on when you invest 60 pounds in a phone that has these functions and they turn out not to work. They should automatically refund you if a forum has been shown to demonstrate a fault is common.
I will not be buying nokia again. The ringer is also very quiet and does not wake me when someone calls. My cheap nokia had a deafening ring. They concentrate on all these frills and miss the basics.
I hope the iPhone torpedos them out of the water!

E71 WiFi problems

My new E71 doesn't recognize wifi in range even that I'm sure that there is one.
when I'm ask him to find a wifi, I receiving the answer that he cant find a wifi in range...
any idea how can I solve this?

If you've checked and it still can't detect a wifi hotspot that's not hidden, then it's possible that you have a hardware problem.
My E71 detects (i.e. sees) any wifi, even if it's encrypted ... clearly, I can't connect to encrypted wifi until I have the key/password though (as I would expect).
Suggest you go back to the supplier and have them check whether there's a hardware issue.
My previous phones:
6310i --> SE K750i --> E50 --> E61i --> E71
... much prefer the Nokia phones, especially the E71

E71 Email Problems, Help Please!?

Hiya, I changed ISP, and therefore had to change my email settings on my E71, I removed the old mailbox (plusnet) and entered the new details (BT Yahoo), When I restarted the phone it threw a complete "wobbler", (active screen went blank, phone acted very strangely. Anyway, where I am now, The phone seems to have sorted itself out, I have removed and reinstalled the nokia email client and the phone is downloading about half of the emails in my inbox and the whole email client runs really really slowly if at all? Sorry to whaffle, does this make any sense, I can assume the email settings are correct of I wouldn't be recieving anything?
To paraphrase my issue, The email client is only downloading a few emails and is running very slowly, mail box takes about 1-2 minute to open? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a "soft reset" seems to have gone 99% of the way to curing the problems I was having, but thanks for suggesting that, it saved me hours trawling the web looking for the solution myself.

E71 WLAN problems after upgrade to 110.07.127 firm...

Hi, recently I've upgraded my E71 to 110.07.127 firmware and all WLAN operations became very unstable.
For example, when I open WLAN wizard it might show that there's no networks - while were are some for sure, when I press Refresh it starts showing some of them, then I press Refesh once again it shows more (or less), but none of them I can connect to anyway/.
I have a Wi-fi hotspot at home and I've been using it for a while with the phone, but now it either doesn't show up in the list of WLANs or, if it does, the phone cannot connect to it saying "Network is unavailable".
I tried to play with the hotspot options changing bands, "b" or "g" modes etc - no luck at all.

E71 energy problem after updating firmware

Last Sunday I updated my e71.Since then my battery dies for a day I've tried with other battery and I think the problem isn't in the battery. Please help

E71 product problems

1) Going to contacts, select "Phone" directory, press Exit.
Phone going to "Restart"
2)Create new contact in adressbook, fill some fields, press "red tube button" for Cancel, contakt saved in anycase.
3) Camera don't remember User settings. all changes valid while one session (about no flashlight mode).
4) Problem with retriving attachments from mail by GPRS.

E71 Email problem- "Unable to connect..."

Can anyone help me set up my new E71 for email? Im following the instructions and here is what happens:
From the main screen i select "set up email"
A box comes up asking if I want to use network to send and received data- i select 'yes'
'Testing network connections'
A screen comes up 'Welcome to email set up'- I select 'start
A box comes up with 'Email address' and a space to enter mine
I enter mine ( [email protected])
'Getting email settings....'
"Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again"
Ok- so i've tried entering my email a few times, tried a hotmail address i use and tried rebooting the system- it's the same final message every time.
What can I do? Am I doing something wrong?

I had the same problem
I think the error arising from the check username
example: the username is [email protected] , NM only understand xxxaaa is username and the mail server can not check because mail server need domain name.
i hope NM fix this problem soon

E71 email problem (E71-2, RM-357)

I have a Nokia E71-2 (RM-357) which is generally usable and is a vast improvement over the E61 that I had previously. However, since updating to firmware 200.21.118, 11-27-2008 I noticed a serious problem.
When retrieving email often and reproducibly the Messaging application changes the email message date/time of arrival to the time that it was downloaded to the phone, disregarding the server timestamp. This happens 100% of the time with POP3 email servers when downloading email I sent from the phone (using SMTP). This happens very often, though not always, when I download email others sent me via POP3.
Any suggestions on fixing this? I'd appreciate it.

I have more details about this problem. Let's say there is an email waiting to be delivered on the server. If I download this email using the phone first and then get it with my desktop client everything is fine. If however I download the email on the computer first and they retrieve it with the phone then the date stamp will be wrong. I'm fairly certain that this problem is new with firmware 200.x.

E71 Bluetooth problems

Hi,
I just bought a new car with bluetooth mobile phone accessories and I'm having problems connecting.
I have paired my phone with the car and authorised it to make automatic connection everytime I get in the car, but it will not work. As soon as it connects it instantly disconnects again. When I then try to manually reconnect, it connects then automatically disconnects again straight away...
Any advice?

happens to me too.
i believe it is a problem with the bluetooth stac on the phones.
i have to restart my bluetooth in the car and it helps to turn off the bluetooth on your e71 and then restart it again. should work fine after that.

E71 Software problems....

Dear all.
I am a new owner of a new E71.
I was very nice pleasured when i was at shop and payed alot for this terminal.
After one day of use i was surprised to see how phone frozen and didn't get ant reaction when i press any button and i get only sounds when i press any of this buttons.
Then, for can restore the phone only way was to pullup the battery because the on/off button from top dosen't react.
From time to time, when i get a call again i can not answer because the answer button dosen't react.
The camera of the phone dosen't activate the flash even if i set to allways on flash function and to get any pictures (in any mode; custom, close-up....) i have to wait more then 5 seconds frozen because o pres the take pictures button, i get the camera sound then for about 5 second the display become black and nothing happend, the after this 5 second the phone get the picture.
As well, from time to time when i acces "Contact" i get on the top of display and three collor line like when dispaly is crash.
Aster 4 days i was at Nokia customer care for waranty, i waited there about one hour then i get back my phone with a resoftted operating system. Then, the next day i got again the same problem. I performed an symbian reset but the same.
Now i stay and i wait an firmware release for this series, maybe this will solv the problem. I sent two e-mails to Nokia and they told didn't know yet when will be release a new firmware.
Is unacceptable for that happend with a new and EXPENCIVE Nokia terminal.
Please, if anyone got the same or any other problems write here.

I was try without memory card. THE SAME PROBLEMS !!!
This firmware version is a garbage !!!
The camera work fine ONLY at the first pictures after i restart the phone with pul out batery. Then all is the same. Monday i will go at Nokia customer service for waranty and if they will not solv the problem with my phone i will create a webpage for users wich have problems with they nokia new release model and will start an agreasive advertaising action against NOKIA. They sale phones with HUGE prices but with very very bad aftersale support.
I don't know why Nokia dosen't create a new firmware for this "HUGE PROBLEMS " e71 series beause i seen (REAED) in many many forums all over the world alot of problems with this series.
Or i think is better to get the phone back to they and get BlackBerry or other qwerty device !!!
SHAME on NOKIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

E71 buttons problems!!

hello, i have a strange problem with my e71, when i type the question mark it gives me bracket ( , also with shift gives me the opposite bracket ) , even the middle line ( - ) , gives me the letter " e' ". what can i do without inputing a new software ( that costs money). thanks guys.

E71 handset problems

Hi, ive just purchased a E71 and i can only hear when the phone is on loud speaker regardless if im calling or someone is calling me the handset doesnt work..is it a common problem does anyone know? and is there a way of fixing it?

Sounds to me like a problem with phone's ear-piece, go to a nearest Nokia care point and get it fixed.
