E72 EMail Client hanging :( Please helppp

Following are the issues that I am facing since the upgrade of my E72-1 FW from 031 to 051:-
I have configured Gmail IMAP on my mobile but now it often hangs the application after few hours and I cannot receive any emails. The only solution is to reboot the phone.
I have Mail for Exchange also, it never faces any issues, But now I often face a delay of few minutes before I can access the latest EMail from my mailbox on the server.
For some reason my Nokia Messaging Account has been cancelled, Not sure why... So I am unable to access Yahoo Email as well.
So the major issue that I am facing is Hanging of the EMAIL application.
Steps that I have performed till now:-
Hard Formatted my phone when it was at FW 031.
Then installed FW 051.
Again formatted the phone.
Restored Default Settings
Formated the MMC card
Then installed couple of apps and configured the EMAIL.
Please let me know incase others are also facing this EMAIL hang issue.

unfortunately the newest firmware release for the e72 and e71 was botched IMO.  that is why you are having email issues like that.
you will have to deal with it until there is another update as you cannot go backwards in the firmware.
regarding your NM account...i had mine "mysteriously" disappear too.  found out it had to be randomly deleted from thier server.  i had two yahoo email addresses attached to it too.
now, after creating a new NM account, which isnt that big a deal, i cannot add the yahoo accounts even from my phone or the web.  i have spent hours with nokia on the phone working on this alone.

  • Issue keeping e72 email client connected and email...

    Just got my e72 (software version 031.023 / custom version 031.023.244.02) I have made no changes to the phone other than running software update and configuring my gmail in messaging.
    I configured my email as follows:
    Menu / Messaging / New Mailbox
    I am asked "no mailbox defined. define now?" I select "yes"
    I start an email configuration wizard. I select "start"
    I select "gmail". I enter my address and password.
    Before connecting, I select "options / settings / mailbox settings / When to sync"
    I change "update interval to 5 minutes" and change "retrieve when abroad to "enabled"
    I click "back"
    I click "Mailbox settings / Advances mailb. settings / Incoming mail settings"
    I change "access point in use" to my local wifi AP
    I click "back"
    I click "Outgoing email settings"
    I change "access point in use" to my local wifi AP
    I click "back", "back", "back"
    I am back at the main mailbox view
    I click "options / connect"
    It syncs up and I see my mail. The green circle in the upper right hand corner of the mailbox view stays green. Syncing works great (I get test email against the box in seconds)
    Now - I don't move away from wifi AP (its 10 feet away). I let my phone sit idle for a while. I stop getting emails and when I go to the mailbox view I see the red circle in the upper right hand corner. I don't get any new emails until I manually select "connect" again in the "options" menu.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Why in the mail client disconnecting?
    Should the mail client reconnect when it does disconnect?
    In the event of a disconnect, becuase I selected "update interval to 5 minutes" in the steps a stated above, shouldn't it at least reconnect after 5 minutes?

    Hi
    i am not familiar with Yahoo and not even up to date with E72.
    Try to delete the email account in E72 and set it up again. This time, deny Nokia services or something like that when configuering the email account.
    Do the settings manual instead and then you get the possibilities to configure folders to see.
    Perhaps I misunderstand what you want to do to.
    I personally have droped Yahoo in 2009 and even Gmail recently due to due to reasons concerning safety and integrity...

  • RMI Client Hang Please Help

    hi all
    i got a RMI server and client app, im trying to call remote method from server to client. the problem is wen client A already exist and client B call the login method and server check if ID is already exist, if ID is already exist ,server then reject client B returning message say ex: "ID already exist" then server should send call a remote method to client A and disconnect client A by bringing client A back to login window and remove client A from user list on server side. And the client get to the login window and got remove from userlist on the server while client B hang(crashed) at login window, wont be able to do anything unless client A is shutdown. then client B display the message "ID already exist".here is some of the code:
    Server:
    Iterator iter = operator.iterator();
              User user = null;
              while(iter.hasNext())
                   user = (User)iter.next();
                   String name = (String)user.getNameID();
                   if(name.equals(userName)){
                        pass = "User already exist";
                        try{
                             user.getListener().disConnectUser(); <b>remote method call to client</b>
                             iter.remove();break;
                        catch(ConnectException e){
                             iter.remove();break;
                        catch(RemoteException ei){
                             iter.remove();break;
    Client: //client call that interface and rewrite the method
    DealerInterfaceListener remoteListener = new DealerInterfaceListener(){
              public void disConnectUser()
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(mainPan, "<html>You Have Been Disconnected By Server:<br>Someone Just Loged On With This ID</html>", "Caution", 1);
    login.startLogin();     //back to login window
              }

    I'm not sure that this is your whole problem, but note that you are calling Swing code from a remote method invocation. This isn't allowed, you can only call swing code from an event thread. So try, in your client, doing:
    SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
    public void run() {
    doGuiStuff();
    This should always return immediately, which is what you want, and the GUI stuff will be done in a swing event thread, so you won't get any weird race conditions.

  • C2-03 Browser and Email client

    Dear Nokia Team, Further to the topic "Nokia C2-03 Lacking Some basic options" (by newsoftware, replied by mahayv, Nokia's Technical Expert) which would be great to be improved, C2-03's browser & email client should be also fixed. Browser: - Can not go to many website limited by Nokia's proxy method/rule. - Take more loading time, not as Nokia's concept to reduce users's data airtime. - Always results as HTTP400 error. - Please fix Nokia Browser for S40. - Or just release simple browser as S60, or Opera, to be available for installing on C2-03/S40 via ovi.com or somewhere. Email client: - Can not access/retrieve some pop3 email, especially with attachment. - Attachment may be not supported by phone, can be understood. But email's message part should be retrieved for reading as a basic thing for email client. - Please fix email client for S40 or just release simple client same as S60. Sorry if I mis-understand something since this is my first time with S40 but with my previous S60(s) I have no problem with basic browsing and basic pop3 access. C2-03 is quite excellent as our friend in above topic said. Reduced extra features due to cost can be understood. But basic things should be retained. Hope for your understanding and fixing/improvements. Thanks, ST2011, Thailand.

    Thank you, Jonathan, but you only partially addressed my issues.
    1. How do I make the screen rotate in Opera Mini? Being locked in portrait mode is absolutely unacceptable, especially when it comes to using the horrible keyboard it provides. My fingers are far too large to use the portrait mode keyboard...the old browser rotated into landscape and provided a more usable keyboard.
    2. How do I restore the "automatic launch" setting for the browser that was broken by uninstalling the original browser? It is no longer possible to open links from Bing search results.
    3. How do I uninstall the original email client so I can do a clean install of the new one (as the instructions say I should do)?

  • E72 - can the email client be stripped back to bar...

    One of the things that 5hits me about the E72 is the lame a55ed email client. The older E71 and E63 plain clients are better imo.
    I have discovered that the email client is still buried in there under the gumby client that seems to have been pegged on top of the old system. Does anyone know a way of getting rid of that to allow the plain client to be used?
    Thanks

    Might be helpful to all in this situation if you would explain the steps.
    Years ago  I  sent a Blank form to a email address  and they save the PDF on there machine.
    I then sent  dummy information from the copy I had to the same email address FDF. which then he was able to read by opening the form.
    (It been ages since Idid it I forgot the steps and couldn't do it again.)
    But for it to work He had to use a web Browser.
    Unfortunately the Adobe PDF Browser Plugin does not work in for XI and Mountain Lion (OSX.8.2) when it opens it just opens a Blank white screen.  I written about this in The Install issues Forum. So far Crickets chirpin is about all that has been received.
    Doesn't work In:
    SeaMonkey, FireFox, Chrome, Omniweb, Opera, iCab, Aurora, Safari. So doing it remotely from a Website is out of the question.

  • I've already set up an email through my B;ackberry Internet Service. I want to change my email client settings to leave messages on the server. although I am using somebody's pc., can I do it? Please help. thank you! Rosa

    If the email client does not leave email messages on the server, the Blackberry Internet Service may not be able to deliver them to my Blackberry device.
    Can you please walk me through it? Or should I contact my service provider?
    Thanks and keep up the good work!

    Best to contact your service provider.

  • Two instances of Firefox open when I click on a link within my email client. How can I stop this from happening?

    I am running on an iMac OS X 10.6.3 using Firefox 3.6.3 as my default browser and I use Postbox 1.1.5 as my email client. Anytime I click on a link within an email message two instances of Firefox open, one with my home page and one with the site the link was meant for. This happens only when Firefox is not already open. If Firefox is running and a link is clicked on it opens normally within the open instance of Firefox. I have contacted Postbox and am currently awaiting a response to see if they have any suggestions. While this is not a serious issue it is a bit annoying. I have Firefox set to open new links in tabs not new instances of windows, so it shouldn't be that. Any help in getting this to stop would be greatly appreciated.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Not sure, it's been going on for quite awhile.

    That is a bug on Mac.
    See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=531552 - Firefox 3.6b opens two windows when opening external links

  • Email client problem with 11.0.3

    I recently upgraded to Reader 11.0.3 and evertime I lauch the application I get an error message along the lines: "This application has failed to start because GAPI32.dll was not found.  Re-intalling the application may fix this problem", followed by "Either there is no default email client or the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
    I am running Windows XP SP3 with Outlook 2000 as the default mail client and have gone through the MS fix for missing GAPI32.  The point is, I DO NOT want Reader to email anything for me at any time.  I prefer to go into Outlook, prepare an email and attach a PDF.   Reader works okay but I am getting pretty cheesed off with having to OK the two error boxes everytime I open a PDF.
    Can I just remove the email facility from Reader?   In Edit|Preferences Email Accounts, I get "Default Mail Application (Microsoft Outlook)" but the delete button is greyed out.

    Timcarson1 in general the error message you received is accurate.  Have you tried applying the update under a local administrator account to see if you face the same difficulty?  If not then please work with your computer department to allow this test to occur.

  • Is there a way to force href="mailto: to use the default email client

    I would like to use the href="mailto:" in my website to automatically open an email but the end user gets the message "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action..."
    Is there a way to force to the mailto to use the and user's default email client?
    Thank you for your help

    Hi James -
    That is the default behavior of browsers when handling the mailto link.
    Please keep in mind that nearly half of website visitors do not have an email client as they are using mobile devices or public computers or web-based email like Gmail, MSN mail etc.
    Please don't feed the spambots. Best practice is to use an HTML "form" in conjunction with a server-side forms processing script. Ask your hosting provider if they provide one for you.

  • No Email Client Associated Error When Opening a PDF

    I get an Adobe Reader XI error dialogue when I open any PDF; it says "Email: There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
    What does Adobe have to do with my email client?
    How can this annoying error dialogue be fixed?
    I am using a Windows 7 Professional OS
    This did not happen with Adobe Reader X

    Doing some additional research on this I found that the message can occur from different programs: Word, Excel, ..., but all point to an Outlook configuration problem.

  • I can no longer attach a PDF to Outlook email in Mavericks OSX even though I have Mac Outlook selected as my email client. (It worked under Mountain Lion)

    I used to have a problem with Acrobat Pro X not recognizing Mac Outlook as my email client when using the 'SHARE' function under Acrobat Pro X . Then it was fixed and worked most of the time, although I occasionally had to go back and select Outlook as my default email in Preferences. However, I recently upgraded from Mac OSX Mtn Lion to Mavericks, and now it does't work AGAIN. It hangs up my Acrobat, Causing a Force Quit every time I try this! Very frustrating. I know I can just attach it to an email from my desktop, but it would be nice if the "Attach to Email" function in Acrobat actually worked. BTW, I am using Acrobat Pro X 10.1.10.

    I, too am wondering if it's the download site. I am not aware of any way to download Outlook Mac 2011 alone from any site including Microsoft's.
    It is common for unscrupulous sites to offer desirable but pirated software for a modest price, but serve it up with a dose malware. They get you money, possible a credit card number, your e-mail, your IP address, and all you get is pain.
    There was an "Outlook Express" for Mac that was freely distrubuted but I'll pretty sure that it never ran natively under OSX. The first OSX native version fo Office:Mac was Office X, and it introduced Entourage as the Mac mail client.
    IF Fast Hosts is your ISP, I'd certainly talk to them to figure out what you downloaded.

  • Error message about default email client

    Whenever Reader XI loads this error message appears:
    "Either there is no default email client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
    I have no idea how to fix this in Outlook after several attempts. Can I fix this within Reader or at least have the message never appear even if the client issue is not fixed?

    Yesterday someone posted an interesting workaround that seems to get rid of the problem: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5529300#5529300 (post 19).

  • Unable to set Outlook as Email Client in PSE10

    Am running PSE10, fully patched and updated, on Win 7.  My default email client on the machine is Outlook, not sure if it's 2010 or 2013 (Microsoft has made it remarkably difficult to find out this simple fact - Help/About apparently no longer works that way...) but I think it's 2013.  Outlook works fine for all normal uses.  I beleive Outlook was installed after PSE10.
    I recently had my first opportunity to use the Sharing options, and discovered the program simply crashes when I attempt to do a Photo Mail - which I've done often in the past with other versions of PSE but not so much with 10.
    In the PSE10 preferences, I've discovered the only option for Email clients appears to be Adobe Email Service - Outlook is not listed.  There is no "refresh list" option.
    Searching the web and forums points to http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/freeze-or-error-no-email.html, which seems to provide a solution involving a registry hack, if one wants to use Windows Live Mail.  Apparently Win 7 does not store a default email client where PSE10 is expecting to find it.  I have no problem with registry changes, however I don't want Windows Live Mail.  I have Outlook, I'd like to use Outlook.
    I would think there would be some similar registry hack for Outlook, however I have not been able to find it.  I could probably work it out by looking at the keys entered in this hack and trial and error, but would prefer to just know what works and do that...
    Is there some fix I can apply for this?  The machine I use has other logins, will I need to apply that fix to these additional logins separately as well?
    Thanks,
    Todd

    OK..
    Tried downloading the reg hack for Windows Live and modifying it to change the path to Outlook (as recommended by Brett above), no luck.   Verified that it installed the key properly, also verified that the path I gave it will open Outlook 2013 (ran on the command line), however it did not change the behavior - still no way to select Outlook in the PSE10 preferences.  Rebooted, no change.
    Tried the solution recommended in the Microsoft KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813745 (from the PSE forum posting here - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5117353#5117353).
    First ran the "fix it for me" - which stopped when it realized I did not have a supported version of Outlook (apparently it's only good to Outlook 2010), warned me, and dropped out.
    Ran the manual fix process.  When I get to the "repair outlook" portion there is another repair option not mentioned in this - "online repair", which purports to be the most comprehensive fix (not the "quick fix", the other option.)  I ran the online repair, it failed "something went wrong" please try installing office again.
    Likely the manual fix I tried first broke office, so now I'm going to submit this and then restore my registry and reboot....
    Still no other email options in PSE10, though.

  • Submit Button Acrobat 9 Pro & Select Email Client Screen

    I'm new to Acrobat and creating forms and need help.  I've created a few forms for work using 8 Pro, which have been successful.  I decided to purchase 9 Pro for home and use for our school's PTU membership drive.
    I created a form using a Word doc and the Acrobat Form Wizard.  It worked, I adjusted my fields, added a Submit button with mailto:[email protected] as the URL and want to distribute the form as "save and distribute later."  This works.  When I bring up the form for a test run, and submit to myself I get a pop up asking to Select Email Client - do I use Outlook (a few others are also listed) or Yahoo or Hotmail as my email servers.  If I click Outlook, everything is fine, the document gets forwarded to me with no problem (because I use Outlook).  My concern is for members who don't use Outlook (or the others).  They have to go through more steps by saving the doc to their hard drive and emailing it to me as an attachment.  I would really like to avoid extra steps for them.
    It there a something I'm missing in setting up my Submit button so it automatically gets emailed to me irregardless as to what they are using for email server?
    I have searched for 2 hours and have come up with nothing that I understand.  If you respond, please remember to be clear as I'm not a techno person.
    Thanks for ANY and ALL help you can provide.

    You are running into some of the classic problems/concerns for new users with forms. I will try to summarize the issues related to your work:
    1. You can create forms directly in Acrobat under the TOOLS menu using the form tools found there, or by selecting the options in the FORMS menu that generally take you to LiveCycle Designer. Questions on the forms should be put to the appropriate forum of these two, since the processing and menus are different.
    2. Having the forms be allowed to be saved (necessary for submitting the full form and not just the data that can be imported to the form) requires Reader Rights to be activated for clients using Reader. This activation limits the form use to 500 uses (check section 15 of the EULA for more details) that could be a problem for you, depending on the school size. If you have the form data submitted and do not activate the Rights, then there is not a limitation. Simply import the XML or FDF file into the form when you get it.
    3. The e-mail submission you have concerns about is valid. If you do not mind getting questions that it would not work on their machine, then fine. The e-mail submission will not work on all machines (PC , MAC, or UNIX). It depends on the client setup (you have no control), historically requiring MAPI to be active (typical of Outlook, but not other packages). In AA9/AR9 there appear to have been some extensions to this, but a lot of folks use version 9. In fact I have a different version that has come on every machine I have and do not have AA9 yet (AA4-AA8), with even older versions lying around some place. A few weeks ago someone checked in who was using AA4. Since I mentioned this problem, the solutions are:
    a. live with it and ask folks who can not submit to copy the info into the body of an e-mail or such.
    b. find someone who can add the proper scripts to a web server to receive the data. The school IT folks (if any) might be able to help there.
    c. submit the data in HTML form through a cgi-mail or formmail server that is available on many ISP servers (you may have to ask). These servers require some hidden fields telling the server where to send the submitted form data.
    Hope that helps. Bill

  • Form distribution error with email client

    Hi All-
      I have an extremely frustrating problem.  I have designed a form in LiveCycle ES 8.2.1 for users to fill out and submit via xml.  I would like to use Acrobat Pro 9.1.0 to track and collect responses from this form.  When I test the original form, the submit button works perfectly and it opens my email client (Groupwise) attaches the xml and populates the To, Subject, and Body fields perfectly.
    The problem comes when I try to use Acrobat to distribute and track the forms.  It creates a filed called 'form_distributed' that adds a bunch of code that completely screws up my form submission.  When the form_distributed is filled out, and the user clicks the submit button, Groupwise is invoked, but I get a 'Check Names' dialog box that states
    "Windows Messaging does not recognize "1. Double-click the attachment".
    After I click cancel on that dialog box, the JavaScript Debugger shows:
    Exception in line 63 of function top_level, script XFA:form1[0]:p1[0]:Button1[0]:click
    RaiseError: One of the specified recipients is not resolvable.
    Doc.submitForm:63:XFA:form1[0]:p1[0]:Button1[0]:click
    ===> One of the specified recipients is not resolvable.
    The distributed version has this extra code inserted
    < script contentType="application/x-javascript">//@@SUBMITURL "mailto:[email protected]?subject=Submitting Completed Form&amp;body=Instructions to add this form to a responses file:\n1. Double-click the attachment.\n2. Acrobat will prompt you to select a responses file.&amp;ui=false"&#xD;
    and further down....
    // submit the form&#xD;
    if (bContinue) {&#xD;
        var rawURL = "[email protected]?subject=Submitting Completed Form&amp;body=Instructions to add this form to a responses file:\n1. Double-click the attachment.\n2. Acrobat will prompt you to select a responses file.&amp;ui=false";&#xD;
        var submitURL;&#xD;
        if (app.viewerVersion &lt; 9.0)&#xD;
            submitURL = "mailto:" + rawURL;&#xD;
        else&#xD;
            submitURL = "mailto:" + escape(rawURL);&#xD;
        currentDoc.submitForm({&#xD;
            cURL: submitURL,&#xD;
            cSubmitAs: "PDF"&#xD;
        });&#xD;
    }&#xD;
    Are these lines of code always inserted when the form is distributed?
    How can I distribute and track these responses?
    It seems to be reading
    "[email protected]?subject=Submitting Completed Form&amp;body=Instructions to add this form to a responses file:\n"
    as the first email address and then getting hung up on the body and interpreting it as an incomplete email address.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Is this in the wrong forum?  The problem I am having is with Acrobat's Distribution feature.
