EA1 - Error deploying ApEx app
Hello,
I just had a problem deploying an app into production. There are a few apps but only this one has a problem. When I right click the app, and left click on deploy, I get the following error:
An error was encountered performing the requested operation:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-06512: at "SYS.HTP", line 1536
ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOW_GEN_API2", line 228
ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOW_GEN_API2", line 305
ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOW_GEN_API2", line 2381
ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOW_GEN_API2", line 6482
ORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.HTMLDB_UTIL", line 1106
ORA-06512: at line 1
06502. 00000 - "PL/SQL: numeric or value error%s"
Just an FYI. I deployed the app the old way via export/import no problem.
Regards,
Dan
One thing you might look at is to do a textual DIFF between the file exported by APEX and the file exported by SQL Developer.
I've been working on an APEX application installer (installShield like) tool and was using similar code to the Java Command line export utility. What I found was that the file exported with APEX set and used a different security group ID than the one exported with My app. When trying to import the file from My App, I ran across the same problem.
I'm just wondering if the same is true here. The text diff should help you find out what is different.
Then the question is why, and why does it matter.

Errors deploying HFM app copied using EPMA
Any help on how to fix is appreciated,
Dev and Prod are out of sync.
I used the last good copy in dev to create app shell, then exported an ads file (prod) and loaded into dev shared library...
After sync changes for Account, I depoly fine.
Then compared to shared library and noticed Period/Year are different properties, I did not see any difference.
After snyc of Period/Year cannot deploy due to validation errors:
Validation Summary
==================
Result : Failure
Summary : There were 2 errors and 0 warnings during the validation process. For details refer the error and warning section of this log.
Error Details
=============
Error : The 'Year' dimension has been modified since the first successful deployment of the application. See the Job Console to find out what has changed in this dimension since the first successful deployment of this application.
Error : The 'Period' dimension has been modified since the first successful deployment of the application. See the Job Console to find out what has changed in this dimension since the first successful deployment of this application.
... If I need to recreate again, but is there a way to fix this in epma????Ok I found the problem, the security class and Consolidation methods needed to be renamed (a space in member name) on import profile.
Ads import did not replace the associations for Acct,Entity,ICP, C1..C4.
Need to delete associations for SC and CM, then reimport ads file.
Validates and deploys now. -

Hello folks,
I installed Jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 and migrated my application from the Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 by following the wizard.
Now my application cannot run. The following is what I get:

ValonI switched back to 11.1.1.0.1, loaded the backup of the app i made.
In this version of JDeveloper the application runs fine, however the similar error as above is displayed in the log and i think is more meaningful then above.
Here it is:

Error deploying to standalone OC4J app server
Hey all,
I created a web app with jdeveloper 10.1.3.3 using OC4J 10.1.3.3 as well. I'm using EJB and session beans to communicate with a database. nothing particularly fancy about it, i just read tables from the db. however, when i try and deploy through jdev to the standalone OC4J i get an error. here's the last part of the deployment log when it fails:
Deployment Log:
Binding ibmswauth web-module for application ibmswauth to site default-web-site under context root ibmswauth
Operation failed with error:
[ibmswauth:ibmswauth] - Exception creating EntityManagerFactory using PersistenceProvider class oracle.toplink.essentials.PersistenceProvider for persistence unit WD_WORK.
The only thing in my Persistence.xml file is the <persistence-unit> tag with name "WD_WORK", and in that a <jta-data-source> tag.
Also, it runs fine on the local embedded server, it's only when i try and deploy that it gives this error. I even deployed my app to an EAR file and tried uploading it manually to the app server, still same error.
any ideas? If you have a model project that has objects referenced by the view controller/UI project then you need to explicitly include them in the deployment. Unlike in embedded OC4J they wont be automatically included.
Create an ADF library deployment profile in the model project and include the generated library in your UI project war file. You can add this jar to the project Libraries/Classpath then make sure it is included in the WEB-INF/lib Contributors list. -
Receive error "bobj undefined" after deploying Web app to Win 2008 server
Developed Asp 2 app in a Windows 2003 server environment with VS 2005 and an upgraded full version of Crystal Reports 2008.
Installed full version of Crystal Reports 2008 on Windows server 2008.
Copied Web app over to Windows 2008 server.
App comes up fine until I attempt to display a report where I receive the bobj undefined error.
Searched the forums and found that the majority of the problems are caused by the Aspnet_Client folder not being copied to c:\inetpub\wwwroot folder.
The folder already exists and is populated. Just to be sure I copied the aspnet_client folder from the development environment over to Windows 2008. Still get error.
Installed vs2005 on Windows 2008 and applied all the necessary patches. Opened the Web app project and ran within VS 2005. Get same error "bobj undefined".
Checked versions in Web.config for app as well as assembly entries in c:\windows\assemblies, c:\Windows\Microsoft .NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\ASP.NETClientFiles and all reflect the correct version 12.Well it appears that the problem is fixed. The issue was tha aspnet_client folder was indeed copied to c:\inetpub\wwwroot folder but the folder did not show up under the default Web site as a virtual directory in the IIS Service Manager.
I created the virtual directory aspnet_client and pointed it to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client folder and now my reports render without error.
I will try deploying the app to another VMWare Windows 2008 server and see if this will work. I don't want to have VS 2005 installed on the production system so I need to be sure that I only require the installation of the full version of Crystal Reports 2008. I am assuming the Crystal Reports runtime will also be installed.
Installed full version of Crystal Reports 2008.
Created virtual directory aspnet_client
Copied ASP app over
Reports now work.
It appears that the Crystal Reports 2008 install can't create the virual directory aspnet_client on IIS7.

Errors deploying Enterprise iOS app through Profile Manager
We manage about 35 iPads through Profile Manager, including deploying a custom made app.
We first deployed this app in July and had no problems with it. Our third party developers have released an update for iOS 7 and we are running into problems pushing it out through Profile Manager.
When I try to upload the IPA file through the web interface I get the attached error. Looking at the logs I see the following errors:
Sep 16 14:42:50 mdm.servername.com ProfileManager[210] <Info>: Unable to find icon file for '/var/devicemgr/ServiceData/Data/tmp/temp_extracted_folder_for_data_file_30/Pay load/Hope.app/Icon-72.png'
Sep 16 14:42:50 mdm.servername.com ProfileManager[210] <Info>: Unable to find icon file for '/var/devicemgr/ServiceData/Data/tmp/temp_extracted_folder_for_data_file_30/Pay load/Hope.app/Icon.png'
This is the first time we've tried to update our custom app. In trying to narrow down whether it was a problem with Profile Manager or the app I uploaded an older version of Apple's Podcast app, and pushed it out to a test iPad, then uploaded the current version through Profile Manager and pushed it out to the iPads with no problems.
Our developers say that nothing has changed from the original version to the new version.
Any ideas? We could solve this by opening the firewall for some ports (443, 1640, 2195, 2196, 5223, ) and ip addresses (17.0.0.0/8). Have a look at
OS X Server: Ports used by Profile Manager

this happens to me too and I found that the cause is that the AM server you are going to configure, is already registered into the directory server.
Try running this command (with the obvious parameters substituted)
ldapsearch -B -T -D 'cn=directory manager' -w YOUR_CREDENTIALS -b ou=1.0,ou=iPlanetAMPlatformService,ou=services,YOUR_BASEDN -s base objectclass=* | grep YOUR_SERVERNAMEIf you found that the server you are configuring is listed here try going to AMserver console (if you have another AMserver configured) and browse to Configuration->System Properties->Platforms. If the server is here, remove it, if not, just hit Save (very important).
If this is your first AM and is a first installation you can just get rid of the Directory Server suffix and recreate it with the Top Entry alone.

Deploying an app from export script stored in the database.
I am in the situation where I want to deploy a copy of an application programatically into the current workspace, but each against a separate schema. The end game would be to have many copies of the same App in the same workspace (obviously with different application numbers assigned) but each app pointing to a different schema.
The workflow would be something like this:
<ol>
<li>Create a new tablespace for the new schema</li>
<li>Create the new Schema</li>
<li>create the required objects in the new schema (we're going to use DataPump for that)
</li>
<li>Assign the schema to the current workspace (make it available to use for a new APP)</li>
<li>Read the app.sql from a BLOB in the database and deploy it into the current workspace pointed to the new schema.</li>
</ol>
I was wondering if there are already API's in place that would help me do these things (especially steps 4 and 5).
I started poking around in the ApEx internals, looking specifically at the deployment of the SAMPLE apps to see if there was anything I could use, but it looks like the WWV_FLOW_SAMPLE_APP package is wrapped so I can't see what it's doing.
I also looked at the code behind the "COPY APPLICATION" function and it looks like I might be able to use wwv_flow_imp_parser.parse to install the application in the current schema, but would probably need some clarification on whether there are any "gotchas" there.
If that works, then it seems the hard part is assigning the new schema to the workspace as normally that is done from within the INTERNAL user's workspace.
Thanks in advance for the help.
DougOk... For others who may be interested in this, I have figured out part of the answer...
To complete steps 2 and 4 mentioned in my original messages (Creating the user and makeing it available to a workspace) here is what I've come up with.

Error Upgrading ADF App to 12c
I have a relatively new ADF application I'm working on. I started in JDeveloper 11g R2, 11.1.2.4.0. Everything works fine in 11g and with the recent release of JDeveloper 12c, we figured since this isn't a production app yet, we might as well upgrade. So I opened my workspace in JDeveloper 12c, 12.1.2.0.0, and on opening the project it went through the project migration wizard, which ran without problems. The problem is when trying to run my app, I get a deployment error. I've tried running the application by right clicking on my main jspx and choosing "Run" (which is how I've always run locally), and also by choosing Application - Deploy - to InegratedWebLogicServer.
Here is the error I am getting on Deploy:
[01:36:29 PM] Deploying Application...

>Hello Timo, thanks for your response! Apologies for my delayed response, I started a vacation shortly after my last post.
I have compared my libraries in my app to the libraries in my sample app. My app has all the same libraries plus the following libraries:
ADF Common Web Runtime
Oracle Page Templates
JPS Designtime
Oracle Extended Page Templates
ADF Model Runtime
ADF Faces Databinding Runtime
Because of this, I suspect the problem I'm having is related to removing prefer-web-inf-classes from my weblogic.xml file. Is there something new which is set in 12c which would cause this error that does not cause it in 11g? I do not explicitly set prefer-application-resources or prefer-application-packages anywhere and I can not find those settings when I search my project for those strings. Here is the error when I add prefer-web-inf-classes back into my weblogic.xml file:

Error deploying the application with Crystal Report
Hello,
I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and I installed the required version of crystal report for it. I'm developing a windows Application with C# and Crystal Reports. The program runs correctly in the visual studio but when I tried to deploy it by adding the setup it gives me the following warnings:
- Unable to find dependency 'MICROSOFT.VISUALSTUDIO' (Signature='B03F5F7F11D50A3A' Version='1.0.5000.0') of assembly 'crdb_adoplus.dll'
+- The 'SAP Crystal Reports Runtime Engine for .NET Framework 4.0' item selected requires 'Microsoft.Net.Framework.2.0'. Select the missing prerequisite in the Prerequisites Dialog Box or create a bootstrapper package for the missing prerequisite. +
- No 'HomeSite' attribute has been provided for '.NET Framework 2.0 SP2', so the package will be published to the same location as the bootstrapper.
I tried to ignore the warnings and deploy it but when I try to open the crystal report and in the program it gives me an error message then an empty report.
I also tried in the Prerequisites to choose the option : Download prerequisites from the same location as my application. but when I do that I receive the following errors:
- The install location for prerequisites has not been set to 'component vendor's web site' and the file 'MDAC28\mdac_typ.exe' in item 'Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8' can not be located on disk. See Help for more information.
- General failure building bootstrapper.
- Unrecoverable building error.
of course In addition to the previous error.
I'm not using the click-once deployment.
Can you please help and advice me with that? I tried to search through the net for these warnings but with no luck of the solution.
Thank you,No, .Net Framework 2 is not installed. I'm using windows 7 so I installed .Net framework 4. I tried to Install .Net 2 but it doesn't install because of windows 7. I also tried to add it in the prerequisites but again with no luck in solving the issue.
If I try to deploy the App and install it. When I try to open the crystal report the app crushes and gives me the following error:
Report load failed.

Dear colleagues,
I'm deploying my app from JDev 10.1.3.3 to OAS 10.1.3.1. And it is driving me crazy, my application is a J2EE ADF application. When I try to deploy I'm getting the following errors: I've tried everything during days, but still I'm not able to run it :(. The application is working fine in Jdeveloper
This first error, I could solved adding the jhsadfrt-10.1.3.jar in the OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\applib directory. See the error solved:

BenalúaBenalua,
(sorry, I don't know how to type the "u" with the diacritic mark above it in your name)
Did you deploy the ADF 10.1.3.3 libraries to the 10.1.3.1 app server? An alternative might be to apply the 10.1.3.3 patch to the 10.1.3.3 app server.
