EA9200 VPN set-up step by step instructions

Hello, Do you have step-by-step instructions for setting up the EA9200 (AC3200) as a VPN client? Thanks.

AFAIK the EA9200 doesn't have a VPN client feature.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

I need step by step instructions to set up Remote Desktop between 2 computers on 2 different networks. Please dumb it down for me.

I need to do the same, but with more than one computer behind a dynamic-IP NAT:
    OS X Server A -|
                   |
OS X Client 1  |- NAT Router Fixed IP ---|
                   |                         |
    OS X Client 2 -|                         |
                                             |
    OS X Client 3 -|                         |
                   |- NAT Router Dynamic IP -| Internet
    OS X Client 4 -|                         |
                                             |
    OS X Client 5 -|                         |
                   |- NAT Router Dynamic IP -|
    OS X Client 6 -|
I have ARD installed on Client 1 and Client 3 (different locations where I'm at) and I need to manage Client 5 and 6 (and the others, but that amounts to the same problem). Since there are multiple computers behind the NAT, I cannot just patch a port through. I want a secure solution as the traffic goes via the internet.
I have been thinking about letting the users of Client 5 and 6 set up a VPN link to the NAT Router of Client 1 when they need assistance, but when I want to manage this from Client 3, all traffic goes over two VPNs, let alone if the router at Client 1 can manage this in a stable way.
Probably, two assignments in the router of client 5 & 6 would be nice, but can I tell ARD to use different ports for certain machines?

  • Hello, i need step by step instructions to set up PC on my ARD network

    Hello
I am going crazy trying to get this new laptop set up so that i can access it from within our network or over the internet.
What we ultimately wanted to do was to have all the macs and PCs be accessible remotely incase they ever got stolen or have anyone abuse company policies they agreed too. So we decided to set up a transparent remote desktop which the user can not remove and we can see there desktop., but i have no clue where to realy begin.
Can someone please tell me what extra programs i need and how i can arrange to make our ARD3 here control a PC step by step,
So far i downloaded VNC app, no-ip app as well with a registered dns address, but i have no clue what to do on this ugly windows Xp home edition systems.
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance
    Larry

ooops take that back, i can only control a PC once and after that i only get something flashing and its gone, even when i click on info it comes and goes like a flash for the PC... ;(

  • How do I set up my Xfinity Gateway modem Wifi with my Airport using same IP address?  I need step by step instructions.

I want to use Xfinity Gateway modem WIFI with my Apple Airport, using same IP address.  Apple store says this will work. I need step by step instrucions on how to do this.
    Thank you

I have had the AirPort for 5+ years.  Have had a Comcast modem for even longer.  My husband and I have iPads.  We can only get wifi connection within a very short range of our AirPort.  I noticed that Comcast/Xfinity was advertising their new Gateway modem with extended wireless wifi so I turned in my old modem to Comcast and picked up the new Gateway model.  After going through several issues with Comcast I tried to install my new modem and was told by Comcast that I cannot use both the Gateway modem and my Airport for WIFI, it's one or the other.  I went to the Apple store and asked the same question and was told that I can have both connected using the same IP address for both.  I am not very computer savy and need some basic, one step at a time instructions on how to add the Xfinity modem to my existing AirPort network for extending my WIFI.  I think I expained that correctly.
The Comcast cable is connected to my Modem and then there is another connection between the modem and the AirPort via USB cord.
Is there somewhere on the AirPort/TimeCapsule device that tells me the exact model of my AirPort?
Thank you for any advice you can give me.

  • Quick VPN step-by-step guide!

    Hello.
Can someone please provide a step-by-step guide on how to configure the SA-520 for Quick VPN Access? The manual doesn't describe this scenario at all, so please someone give me instructions how to set the IKE and VPN policy so that Quick VPN can connect. I don't need any IP validation or anything, I just need it to work and take it from there...
    Thanks! Artur

Like Mr Roe explained you may need to call into the office and let an agent test the connection for you. However here are some quick steps that you need to take to get the quick vpn configured.
    1. You will need to access the set up screen for your SA520- You then need to click on the VPN tab.
    2. Select IPSEC Users. There you will find a drop down arrow box select CISCO QUICK VPN.
3.The Menu option may change slightly. A warning message will appear that you will need to make sure that the LAN subnets are different from your local and remote side.
    4. There will be another warning message advising you to enable remote management. You can find this area under the NETWORK MANAGEMENT TAB.
You will enable remote management from this page, by simply checking the box. you will need to grant access type by allowing all ip addresses or by range of addresses or for a particular PC which ever fits your need. All IP addresses is what I tested my VPN connection with and it was successful. The port you will use will be port 443. After you have configured this page save your settings.
    5. Now that you have verified that all of your basic setting needs are taken care of now you can return to the VPN tab and create your user's and assign passwords for there connection.
    6. Again you will choose the CISCO QUICK VPN from the drop down box and then assign your users.
    7. For the users who will be accessing this connection they will need to have downloaded the cisco quick vpn client from our websight to utilize this type of connection. The version number for this QUICK VPN CLIENT is 1.4.1.2.
    8. All users who try and access this quick VPN connection will need to have the QVPN client Utility saved on there desktop for access.
    hope this was helpful.

  • How do I sync my new ipad mini with my old ipad 2, without losing any apps or data in notes?  I need step by step instructions for first-time sync with ipad mini.  Thanks.

How do I sync my new ipad mini with my old ipad 2, without losing any apps or data in notes?  I need step by step instructions for first-time sync with ipad mini.  Thanks.

If you synced it many times, you have to have a backup. It's just a question of how old that backup is now. When did you last sync?
First of all launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see any backups for you iPad in that window? If so, how new is the newest backup? That will be the backup that you will want to use. But remember that if you use that backup and it is one month old, you can only restore from that date back in time. Anything that you did on the iPad in the past month will not be in that backup.
Turn on the new iPad Minin and start activating OTA via WiFi. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will be given the choice to Set up as new, Restore from iCloud - or Restore from iTunes. You will want to select Restore from iTunes.
That is the short and sweet version. There are step by step instructions in this article. This applies to the mini as well as the iPad 4 or the iPad 3 for that matter.

  • How do I separate my music from my husbands to just go on my ipod shuffle?I know I need to manually pull the songs over...please help I need step by step instructions

Need step by step instructions on how to separate my music from my husbands that I purchased on Itunes.I know my account is listed to set up manually...I just forget how to do it.I know I need to drag each song over right???Please advise

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer. iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • Step-by-step process of grouping Items in Category Sets and more accurately into the correct Category

Honestly, I have never had a customer ask me 'how' do I identify which Items go together in a specific category.  I am thinking I start with the Functional Area (Inv, PO, OM, WM, etc..) attributes, and start the grouping there.  The customer is asking for "best practices" - any input would be appreciated.
I have a fresh install of Oracle Inventory, Purchasing, Order Management, Service - We have 2,000,000 part numbers.
How have you instructed your customers/clients (both Internal and External) in the PROCESS of categorizing all of their Items?
What is the Step-by-step process of grouping those 2MM items into accurate Category Sets and more accurately into the most correct Category.
I would 'assume' it would start with some analysis with all the Items listed with all the item attributes, and start with ECCN (for example) or Item Type grouping. Then...(?)
    Thanks!
    rd

No answer to No.1 but I really want to find it out too.
    No.2
If you already know list of the categories & ID you can manually create a list of checkboxes
    <input type="checkbox" name="CAT_Category" value="89081" />
    <input type="checkbox" name="CAT_Category" value="89082" />
    <input type="checkbox" name="CAT_Category" value="89083" />
    something like that should work

  • HP LaserJet 4050N set up using IP *SUCCESSFUL step-by-step guide*

I have had sooo many difficulties in attempting to set up my HP LaserJet 4050N using an IP address connected to my iMac via Ethernet… but tonight I have finally succeeded! So for the benefit of anyone else who is having difficulties here is a complete step-by-step guide to how I achieved it.
    1.
In ‘System Preferences’ in ‘Network’, I made sure that ‘Ethernet’ is set to the following:
    ‘Configure IPv4: Using DHCP’
    Two numbers are given:
    ‘IP Address’ and ‘Subnet Mask’
(you might need to click ‘Renew DHCP Lease’ by clicking ‘Advanced’ and under ‘TCP/IP’ clicking ‘Renew DHCP Lease’)
    WRITE BOTH OF THESE DOWN!
    2.
Go to ‘Applications’ folder and click on ‘Utilities’ and open ‘Network Utility’. Click on the ‘Info’ tab and from the drop-down menu select ‘Ethernet’.
The ‘IP Address’ should be the same as that given in the ‘Network’ settings panel for the Ethernet port.
    3.
On my HP LaserJet 4050N I went through the following menus:
Click the green ‘GO’ button until the display reads ‘Offline’
Click ‘MENU’ 7 times or until ‘EIO 2 JETDIRECT MENU’ shows
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘CFG NETWORKJ=NO *’ is displayed
Press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘YES’
    Press ‘SELECT’
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘CFG TCP/IP=NO*’ is displayed
Press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘YES’
    Press ‘SELECT’
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘BOOTP=NO’ is displayed (or press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘NO’ and then press ‘SELECT’)
    Press ‘ITEM’ button until
‘IP BYTE 1=XXX’ is displayed and where I have put ‘XXX’ using the ‘VALUE’ button enter the first number of the ‘IP’ address given in ‘Network Utility’.
Repeat this procedure for ‘BYTE 2, 3 AND 4’ by using entering a value each time using the ‘VALUE’ button and then pressing ‘SELECT’ before finally moving onto the next ‘IP BYTE’ value using the ‘ITEM’ button.
After all of the ‘IP’ values have been entered pressing the ‘ITEM’ button will display ‘SM BYTE 1=XXX’ – this is the ‘Subnet Mask’ value. Follow the same process as for the ‘IP’ address and enter the values given in the ‘Ethernet’ pane in ‘Network’ under ‘System Preferences’.
After entering the final ‘Subnet Mask (SM)’ value (BYTE 4) press ‘SELECT’ and finally press the green ‘GO’ button.
As soon as the green ‘GO’ button has been pressed the ‘IP’ value in both ‘Network’ (under ‘System Preferences’) and ‘Network Utility’ (Applications/Utilities) will change to display a new ‘IP’ address. The ‘Subnet Mask’ value displayed in ‘Network’ (under ‘System Preference’s should display the same ‘Subnet Mask’ value).
    4.
    Now close ‘Network Utility’.
Click on the ‘SHOW ALL’ tab in the open ‘NETWORK’ window.
Click on ‘Print & Fax’ in ‘System Preferences’.
Click on the ‘+’ tab on the left of the ‘Printers’ Pane.
    Click on the ‘IP’ tab.
From the drop down menu ‘Select HP Jetdirect – Socket.’
Now in the Address field enter the ‘IP’ values that you entered in the printer (and that you wrote down earlier).
    Once entered click ‘Add’.
I really hope that what has worked for me works for anyone else who is struggling to set up their HP printer using IP over Ethernet. Please post any success.
    Kind regards
    Neil.

Thank you, Neil! Your instructions worked.
Several comments to clarify your instructions.
They mostly expose my simple minded understanding of computers....
    1. At the line in part 3 beginning with " ‘IP BYTE 1=XXX’ is displayed...", the 'XXX' means the first set of numbers before the first '.' in the IP address. For an IP address of '78.123.4.56', that means '78'. You push the 'VALUE' button many times if the number is three digits. IP Byte 2 for the same IP address is '123'. Etc.
    2. When you have finished all the steps, it works! What a relief.
The printer will appear in the print dialog box as an IP address.
3.You can change the name of the printer if you want.
    Go to System Preferences>Print&Fax
Select the printer. (it is listed by its IP address number)
On the right side of the box will appear several buttons.
One button is 'Options & Supplies'. Click it.
    Another box will drop down.
Choose 'General' from the 'General / Driver / Supply Levels' buttons at the top of the box.
The name of the printer will be defaulted as the IP address.
Type in whatever name you want for the printer
    Click 'OK'
    4. It may be possible to go one step further and connect the HP LaserJet 4050N
printer to the computer through an airport express, but I have
had enough frustration the past two weeks that I am not that curious. Yet.
    Once again, thank you Neil!
    Bob

  • I have never used Illustrator...can you give me step by step instructions to use your t-shirt template? I watched the tutorials, but they leave out basic information

Can you give me step by step instructions to use the tshirt template for someone who has never used this program before

a free trail of lynda.com could help
    lynda.com library | Trial Subscription
You might also try adobe's set of tutorials.
What you are asking is beyond the scope of this forum.
It's sort of equivalent to asking for step-by-step instructions for using cruise control for someone who has never driven a car before.
You will need to take some time to learn the program before you can successfully create work in it.

  • HT201250 Where are the Time Machine step by step instructions?

I'm looking for the screen shots of how to even start setting up the time machine. I see the instructions for once you get there, but it doesn't do me any good if it can't show me how to start. This should be easy to pull up. This is a Mac. This should be fairly straightforward. Right? So, why no instuctions on how to start Time Machine, its options, settings, and all that?

    System Preferences. Time Machine.
System Preferences is something you should know about if you do not. You can access it from the Apple Menu, and it is a default item in the Dock.
I have no idea where there are screen shots.
There's one slider and two buttons. Not really a lot to look at, or be confused by.
The slider says ON and OFF.
    One button says "Select Disk"
    The other says "Options..."
If you wish to select a disk, choose "Options..."
    Just kidding.
    There are no "magical options."
    For Step by step instructions:
    To turn on Time Machine:
    1. Slide switch to On.
    To turn off Time Machine:
    1. Slide switch to Off
To select a disk to use:
    1. Click Select Disk.
    2. Select a Disk.
    To Remove a Disk:
    1. Click Select Disk.
    2. Select Disk.
    3. Click Remove Disk.
    To exclude Items:
    1. Click Options...
    2. Click Add (  + ) button.
    3. Select folder to exclude.
    4. Click Save.
    To remove items from exclusion:
    1. Click Options...
    2. Select item
    3. Click Remove ( - ) button.
    4. Click Save.

  • Need Step-by-Step Instructions for Permitting FTP access behind WRT54G V6

I just got my wireless router set up.  I'm a complete novice at this, so any help anyone can provide will be appreciated.
I have an FTP server running on my computer, but FTP requests are not getting through.
I need step by step instructions how to set up the router to pass FTP requests through to the computer.  I mean basic steps!  How to access the configuration page(s), what to change, what I need to do about an IP, which ports to forward, etc.
Or point me to the documentation or web site with this information.
    Thank you!

Check the FAQ of Linksys. See here
However, if you are a "complete novice" I would strongly advise not to do so. Providing servers on the internet requires knowledge about networking and security of your computer. Else, too often, the server ends up as porn relay or worse.

    2. Save your document as a plain text (.txt) file.
    3. Connect your iPod to your computer.
