Each time I open my MacBook something called "Bigfoot" searches for emails etc

Does this happen to anyone else?
And how can I stop this happening?

One quick and dirty solution, assuming that you never delete the data files, is to do a directory scan, get the number of files in the directory, and append that number on to your file name.  (Then for safety sake, use a simple loop that checks if file already exists, if it does, increment your count by one, and try again.)
Simple design here, a bit crude, but gets the idea across.
Oh, am not sure when they were added, but the two colored file subVI's are 'Get File Extension.vi' and 'Check if File Exists.vi' in the File I/O -> Advanced File Functions sub-pallet.

You should never install software or a Firefox extension when a website asks you to do this as this is likely an effort to install malware.
You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
Your System Details List shows the Default Tab 2.3.1 and the SafeSearch 2.1 extensions.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br>
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br>
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Each time I open firefox, I have to give permission for firefox to change my computer. How do I bypass this a go directly to firefox?

I used to be able to go directly to my start up page, now I get a message to allow firefox to make changes to my hard drive. How do I bypass this step?

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • MacBook Pro loads crash screen each time I open it.

Each time I open my MacBook after it's been closed for a while (I haven't time it to see if there's a minimum), it boots on a semi-opaque gray screen with a white loading bar (several rectangular boxes spaced apart from each other). I think that screen is usually for when your computer dies/crashes and reboots itself.
Any idea what's going on? I tried restarting/turning off and back on (one or the other usually resolves any problem I'm having). I'm running 10.8.2 with the latest firmware updates.
    15" MacBook Pro (Summer 2012)
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    1680x1050 Screen Resolution (the upgrade)
    500 GB HD
    Thanks!

I recommend you keep a regular backup going in the time being, as it is very odd that an iTunes update would prevent this. Therefore it may be something bigger that just temporarily stopped coincidentally with your iTunes upgrade. With a Time Machine backup you can also migrate your data to a new installation that should be more stable if the problem persists and is ultimately software-based.

  • HOW TO STOP THE PROMPTING MESSAGE OF MASTER PASSWORD EACH TIME I OPEN MOZILLA FIREFOX?

HOW TO STOP THE PROMPTING MESSAGE OF MASTER PASSWORD EACH TIME I OPEN MOZILLA FIREFOX?

Firefox will ask for the Master Password on startup if it is needed on a page.<br />
This can be Sync or a web page that is (re)opened automatically and you have saved a name & password for this website.
You didn't confirm whether you are using Sync or not, so I don't know which of the two would apply.

    Hello:
I would trot back into the Apple store and have them fix the problem (or call Applecare with a warranty issue).  There is no sense in you wasting your time trying to troubleshoot things on a new computer.

I have a macbook pro 10.8.5 and the Application Safari will not open no matter what i do, I try to open the menu of Safari but it won't let me either, the mouse will just be loading. Each time i open it, it says "Application Not Responding" and I try opening it in my Finder and it'll say "The Application 'Safari' cannot be opened." and below that it'll say "-1712" Please help? • Adobe lightroom asking for serial number each time I open it. Any suggestions?

I just downloaded Lightroom 5 and updated to 5.7 when prompted on completion of the process. I now have to input the serial number each time I open the programme. Is there any thing I can do, restarting the installation for example, to try and get round this problem?

I have the same thing happen to me. Every time I start Aperture, it asks for the license. Once I have entered the license key it lets me use the application. However, the next time I use the application again, i get the same problem. I have tried reinstalling the application, and am asked for the license key at the beginning of the install and again once the package is started. To no avail. And I get no other messages.
I called Apple Support, and after booking a call with a support person (a Genius?), I got one who, after reading the summary of my problem in the service request, said simply "this is for Aperture? Aperture is a Microsoft product, you have to call Microsoft". And that was that.
    Please, anyone have any ideas?

  • Why do I have to accept agreement each time I open a CC program?

I have to accept the license agreement each time I open an Adobe CC product. Sometimes I have to relogin to CC. Why is this happening? I should be able to accept the agreement once for a single product and have all products activated, not have to accept the agreement and login each time I open a program. For example, I'm working in Photoshop and have to accept the agreement. With PS open, I open a PDF and have to accept the agreement. I close Photoshop and upon reopen I have to accept the agreement again about 75% of the time. Same with all CC products.
Is the Creative Cloud connector not keeping the registration data or something? All software that I'm using is updated including the cloud connector.
    Thanks for the help

    A couple things to test:
Try launching the app by right clicking and choosing Run as Administrator
    Try disabling User Account Control

  • I am asked to Sign in with my Apple ID each time I boot my Macbook pro running the current and updated version of Yosemite

Each time I boot my Macbook Pro running a currently patched version of Yosemite I am asked to "Sign in with my Apple ID."  After that I have to approve the use of Find My Mac, and then I have to agree to the Terms and conditions of Use.   This is very annoying since I use Bootcamp a lot and it adds a fair effort to the reboot process.   Any thoughts?
Some additional clues that may or may not have bearing on this.
Once I am booted into Yosemite completely, if I open Safari (also current version)  I am told my Safari Extensions have been migrated and I have to re-enable each one individually.   They have all been disabled.   This will occur each time I completely close Safari and reopen it.
I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions everyone!   Thanks in advance.
    Dave

    Hi chc517,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your MacBook Pro. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on a couple things about your specific configuration. The message you mentioned about the disk being encrypted would seem to indicate that you may have File Vault enabled. If that is the case and you are having a login issue, you would need to use the File Vault recovery key to reset your login password instead of your Apple ID, as noted in the following article:
OS X Yosemite: FileVault recovery key

  • When I try to set my homepage to a specific website, firefox will not store permanently. I have to reset home page each time I open firefox. are there additional instructions in help to address this?

Each time I open firefox, it doesn't open to my previously set website (Yahoo). I have to reset the homepage each time I open firefox despite following the help menu method. I'm not able to locate a possible cause/solution on the help menu. pls advise

    Please do the following.<br><br>
    * In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
    * In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
    * Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=<br><br>
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "''Copy Link Location''" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
'''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the orange Firefox button and go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.<br><br>
After you complete the above steps, install this add-on to prevent another search engine from modifying your preferences: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/browserprotect/

    Solved it!
I added a proxy "PAC" file web link yesterday to access my University's intranet system within "System Preferences" and once I removed this, iTunes started working again.

Take it back to Best Buy and talk to the store manager. Possibly they can work something out with Apple.
In the meantime, try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Each time I open FF, box asks me if I want to allow Firefox prog. to make changes to this compter. I can only go in if I tick yes each time. Never used to do this.

Each time I open FF, box asks "Do you want to allow the Firefox program to make changes to this computer?" Details are something about x86 exe files. I can only open firefox when I click yes. Only started doing this today. Also printer has stopped printing. Not sure if its related.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
