Edit customer table record

I need to create a program that edits the entries of a ztable. I made the the program for inserting data but what is the best way on how to do it?
I need to select a record and then edit the whole details in the program.

There is comprehensive help available in SAP for this.
But some of things you can put are:
Auth Group - Either a group of ppl who are authorised to use that table or in case you are not sure at the moment choose no authorizatio.
Function Grp: you can give the same name as the table. In this case it will automatically generate the function group.
You can also use an already existing group.
On the same screen you can choose to have a single-step or two-step maintenance. In either case you need to ptovide a screen no. once you give them these will the screen available to you through sm30 . You can choose any number for screen as you wish . these will be created in the function grp.
Rest you can leave default as of now. If you still have questions you can revert back

Hi ,
Displaying attachments is not available in the Interaction record view.You need custom development to enable the attachemnts there.
usually the process would be to create a followup activity from the interaction record and attch documents there.

Hi,
suppose you have check box on the every record of advance table.
1> write the ppr event on check box . i.e. when the check box clicked, the row should be updatable mode.
2> create one transient attribute in VO, return true or false according to check box selected or not
3> set the read only property of every column of the advance table to spel value e.g. {oa.<ViewInstance>,<BooleanTransientAttribute>}

Displaying record from custom table

I have a custom table ztable (kunnr, vbeln, erdat, erzet, flag). Using these values I would like to display the following
Client Number (4) = '1234'
Filler (6) = space.
Record Type (1) = 'A'
Client Number (15) = vrkpa-kunnr
Customer Name (30) = adrc-name1
This information should be displayed in the following way:
1234 A0012345 Walmart
Can someone help me with this code.

Okay, I see. Is your client number always going to be '1234'? If not, then do not assign a value to it. Otherwise, you'll want to assign the value during your selection statement because the field will be emptied each time you clear the itab line.The same thing goes for your record type 'A'. You need an address number, a date, and a nation as the key for table ADRC (so you need to put the necessary values into w_nation and w_begda). I'm not sure if your customer number corresponds to the address number. Try this:

How to delete the records from custom table???

My requirement is,
I have a custom table, assume as ZABC, I have updated this by my custom program, This data having table can be extracted by BI etract program(Assume ZZZ). Here I am not writing any code for extracting data from table to BI extract program, That they will do by BI extract program. But I want to write the code for
<b>Cleanup of Z tabledelete records 30 days after the BI data extractor has run.</b>
How this is possible suggest me any method having for these???

Hell Sanjana,
Ask your basis people to do the clean up after 30 days. If you want the clean up only to be done 30 days after BI extract has been done, then u need some sort of indicator to say that BI Extract has been done , like flag and date in a custom table which will be set as soon as extract is done. Then based on that info u need to delete a the records.

How to transport records of custom table in SAP BI?

I creeated a custom table and entered some records there. Now I would like to transport it to production.
When I select the records and press 'transport records' the system doesnt allow me to save it under transport request.
The following error message pops up :
This is customization request but you need workbench one.
But I dont see any workbench requests in this window.

Select Create Request
It will ask for selection for type of request.
Select 'Workbench Request' and try with this request.

Custom Oaf form inserting blank records into custom table

Hi all,
I have developed custom OAF form to insert vendor details mapped to custom table.
Oaf form is working fine without giving any error.
In back end blank records is inserting into the custom table i.e. only WHO columns (creation_Date, created_by, last_update_login etc.) values are populating correctly but the
data which i am entering in OAF form is not populating into the table.

Trapping the error records in a custom Table

Hi,
I am executing a report program. It is extracting different types of files - Invoice Header, Invoice line items, Customers, Master data attributes, Sales representative, Branch location data. Each file from different tables. In the selection screen we will be having check boxes for each file. The output is stored either on desktop or on application server in a file format.
Here there are some mandatory fields for each file which should not be blank.
For example there is one custom field for Sales Invoice header BUILDER which is mandatory. If it is blank then it will be an error record.
We need to create a custom table with all these mandatory fields.
Kindly pls help.

Copying the error records in a custom table

Hi,
I have a report program which is fetching Invoice header and line items . I need to copy the error records (records having a custom field ZZKUNNR as blank) in a custom table . I am executing this report in background daily .
The records in the custom table can be corrected by functional guys
Daily the report should fetch the data from SAP and also it should check whether there are correct records in the custom table .
If the records are found from custom table then those records also must be fetched.
Finally the output is stored in an application server .
Kindly help how to write the code for error records.

QM-Customer Info record-QV51(Need Table & field for - "Before delivery" -)

In the qm Customer info record(qv51), there are 3 radio buttons under quality inspection field-(Before delivery,After delivery,By customer).. I am checking the table " QVDM" .I am able to locate the fields (1.After delivery,and 2.By customer ) .
But I couldn't locate the field for " Before delivery" in the table QVDM. 1. Is it in some other table ? 2. If it is so, in which table I can find the field for " Before delivery" ? Help me.

By default system assumes before delivery unless one of the indicators "After delviery" or "By Customer" is set.
There is no specific indicator for "Before Delivery"

Need help for record deletion from custom table

Hi friends
I have to write a custom program which will be generic to delete any table record with date field.
This program needs to be generic (should be able to delete records from any custom table) in nature with selection screen parameters as:
Table Name and Number of Days prior to which records are deleted, both mandatory.
Program Flow:
1.     From number of days calculate date before which records are deleted, ( current date u2013 no. of days = past date).
2.     Custom table have date field, delete records prior to that date.
3.     Program may be scheduled for background job, put default values for both fields. No. of days should not be less than 60.
4.     Classical Report output with number of records deleted.
My query is how will I know the name of the Date field so that I can write a DELETE query.
If I use 'DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET' it gives me all field names but how to filter out?

I have added field on the selection screen as p_fieldname and got the F4 help for it , so that the user will get the field name run time as per the table name.
Now I am facing problem while writing the DELETE query.
I wrote like
DELETE (fp_tab)
where (fp_fieldname) LE date
It is not working. I also tried with taking a string to concatenate fp_fieldname, LE and date to l_string
when I write like this:
DELETE (fp_tab)
where (l_string) , sy-subrc is getting 4 and no records are getting deleted.
I do not understand where the dynamic Delete is failing??

How to avoid editing a deleted record in a Table component

I am building a prototype using JSC. In Page1.jsp, I have a table displaying the records. On column one there are buttons that allow the user to edit the record, including deleting it. My problem is: when somebody else deleted a record and if the current user tries to edit the same record by clicking the edit button on the corresponding row he will get the next record. Could somebody tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
By the way, I do not access database directly from the Web part. Instead, I dropped a session bean's method on the Table compoment. In the edit button's event handler, I use
           TableRowDataProvider row = (TableRowDataProvider )getBean("currentRow");However, since that record was deleted already I always get the next record.

I have a session bean that has getCities(), getCity(String code) and other methods. getCities() returns an array of CityDO objects and getCity(String) returns a CityDO object. class CityDO basically is a JavaBean containing city code, city name and other information. When I designed the web part using Java Studio Creator, I dropped a Table component to the design view first, then dropped the EJB method getCities() onto that Table component. Up to now, it is very similar to http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/ejb.html and everything worked fine.
In order to edit a CityDO record, I added a column containg "edit" buttons into the Table component. If the user clicks the edit button we will show the CityDO in another page called editPage.jsp. In editPage.jsp, the user can update the city or simply delete it. Here is the major part of the event handler of the edit button in Page1,

Is it possible to restrict changing records in customizing table in SM30?

Hi.
Is it somehow possible to set authorizations in a way, that a user could change only certain entries in a customizing table using SM30? What I want to achieve with this - we have an internationally used system, where consultants from different countries are working often on the same customizing tables and we would like to restrict tham to be able to change records only relevant for those countries, so they cannot change the records for other countries by mistake / on purpose. The records are usually identified by a certain "grouping" field (for instance MOLGA in table T511K or MOABW in T554S).
So far I couldn't find anything apart from the S_TABU_DIS object, which is too rough for this requirement.
Or maybe is there another way to achieve security in such a scenario?

1. If u are talking about SM30 for standard table,
   then i don't think there is any such standard feature / facility,
   for restricting.
2. If its our own Z Table, then we can go for events in table maintenance
and write our code for same.
3. But if such restrictions/validations are required,
   then its better to have a module pool for such thing.
SM30 is for very simple and basic table maintenance.

Regarding (1) just have a look at a standard maintenance view like V_T001W (SE11 -> menu Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator ):
Here you can see that the option Standard Recording Routine is chosen which is responsible for prompting for a transport request as soon as records of the table/view are changed.

Error in populating Custom table entries records

Hi,
While uploading data from excel sheet to one of the custom tables (around 4500 records at one go), fields get populated in respective fields. One of the fields is Equnr(Equiment number) in that table. When uploading with 10 character , when we check it in table it doesnt appear how ever when give leading zeros are appended to the same it gives result. Check with the conversion exit input associated with the data type. Same is with the matnr field.
