Edit Payload XML Tag after mapping in cleanUp?

Hello experts,
I've created a 1:N multi mapping with the graphical mapping and now the receiver system has a problem with a string within a tag in the payload which should be renamed from "request1" to "request".
I think I need something like
payload.replaceAll("request1","request");
but I don't know if this is possible in the cleanUp section of the graphical mapping.
As I have to use plain html adapter I can't use any adapter modules.
Best Regards,
Richard

Hi Stefan!
You could use a Java mapping after the graphical mapping to replace the node names.
How can this be done (doing a Java mapping after graphical mapping)?
I read about a similar problem here where namespaces were removed:
[delete namespace and prefix with Seeburger X.400 receiver;
Would it be possible to do use two different mappings instead of of a multimapping?
I guess this would be the easiest way but as it's not clear up to now if the sending system will provide a file interface or a http call (both systems - sender, receiver - are no SAP Systems). If it'll be a file this file could easy be read a second time but if it's provided via http this will not be possible (as far as I know ..).

Richard

  • [CS3 JS] How to associate text with an XML tag

    Hello,
    I have a script that allows one to create or modify an XML tag after one selects text, a text frame or an existing XML tag. It works fine for making the XML tag but it does not associate the text or text frame to the tag. To do that I have to right click on the selection and use the context menu to Tag Text or Tag Frame.
    I want to make this automatic but cannot see how to script it.
    Thanks for any help

    I figured out the problem (which of course creates other interesting problems).
    In the line:
    var elementRef = rootElement.xmlElements.add (tagRef);
    I forgot to add a reference to the xmlContent. It should read:
    var elementRef = rootElement.xmlElements.add (tagRef, whatToTag);
    However, this script is designed to create a dialog box where one can either create a tag along with attributes or edit an existing one. I'll post it when I am done, but there is one hangup. The script not only changes the name of a selected xml tag but all tags with the same name. How can I get it to change only the selected tag? Below is the boiled down script that duplicates that problem.
    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Display and Edit Patterns in XML Tags

    Using LiveCycle E2 V9.
    The display and or Edit Patterns are not reflected in the XML of a submitted form.
    While these display properly on the Adobe form on-screen, e.g.
    $150,000.00 when the fields are are submitted the XML tag as reflects 150000.000000
    Please advise whether there is something that I am doing incorrectly and or a fix for this?
    Thank you!

    Formatted displays for numbers is never the same as the actual field value. This approach allows a user to see a formatted numeric value but the data remains as a number in floating point, integer, or binary value for further calculations as a number. If this were to change, then one would need to parse the numeric value as a character string back to a numeric value before performing any calculation.
    There are specific forums for LiveCycle Designer.

  • Search for, edit, and delete XML tag (Adobe InDesign Server CS5)

    Hi all,
    I'm working with Indesign Server CS5 and JavaScript, though having some trouble coming up with a solution to a problem...
    I need to build a JS script (called through SOAP) that will enable me to search an InDesign file for a given XML tag.
    Upon finding the XML tag, if the 'action' variable is set to delete, it should delete the tag and its contents.
    If the action is set to edit, it should change the contents of the tag to some user-specified content.
    The primary caveat is that the XML tag is variable, as is the XML structure of the InDesign file.
    Here's what I have in mind, in pseudocode:
    function findXMLTag(tag, action) {
         app.searchForTag(tag);
         if (tagIsFound) {
              if (action == "delete") {
                   tag.delete;
              } else if (action == "edit") {
                   tag.contents = "Updated content";
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ben Kay

    'searchForTag' can be implemented as a recursive function.
    Recursion is defined like this: I thought, "I'll just search this forum for 'recursion'." The first post I found was one of my own, suggesting that the poster should search the forum for 'recursion'.
    Here is an example: find the XML Element [<email>]
    And another: Remove xml element using JS[CS3] (read carefully, as the OP got stuck on how to successfully remove an element and continue)
    And one, using XML Rules -- which I'm totally unfamiliar with, but may work for you: Changing Values in XML tags

    If you want through find and change here below is a function for apply tag on paragraph style
    var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
    addtags("A Head", "Head");
    addtags("Text", "P");
    function addtags(stylename, tag)
    if(myDoc.paragraphStyles.item(stylename) != null)
    app.findGrepPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
    app.changeGrepPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
    app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = '.+';
    app.findGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = stylename;
    app.changeGrepPreferences.markupTag = tag;
    myDoc.changeGrep();

  • Mapping XML tags to paragraph styles that contain nested styles

    I am importing XML into InDesign (CS5.5) and the tag mapping to styles is working fine until I get to a paragraph style that contains a nested style.
    I have a sentence that starts with a number:
    1the dog runs fast.
    In InDesing properly styled looks like this:
         1  The dog runs fast.
    (tab)1(tab)The dog runs fast.
    The number is styled with a character style (Number) and the whole sentence is styled with a paragraph style (Sentence). In order to get the tabs in between the number, I have a nested style within the paragraph style (Sentence). This triggers the tabs when it hits the character style (Number) like this:
    Number up to 2 Tab Characters
    In XML, it looks like this
    <sentencetag><numbertag>1</numbertag>The dog runs fast.</sentencetag>
    Sentencetag is mapped to Sentence paragrph style and Numbertag is mapped to Number character style, but the nested style for the tabs are not displaying. I just get this in IND.
    1the dog runs fast.
    Everything works beautifully until I hit the nested styles, which I do need to get to work somehow. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    It sounds like your tab characters are actually disappearing from content in the XML. Jeff was responding to the fact that they need to be there, and you state that you originally had them in your document, but they are not showing up once imported through the XML.
    The tabs may be disappearing in the XML document due to the "TAB" character in your text editor not being a tab, or at least not properly-formed XML TAB equivalent, OR because you are not "importing whitespace elements" when you import your XML.
    Importing whitespace elements can wreak havoc on other things in your XML structure and styled layout within the Indesign document, so I would put the XML quivalent of TAB everywhere a tab should be in your XML, and make sure NOT to import whitespace (when importing XML using "Merge Content", select not to import whitespace items from the import options).
    I believe the XML friendly character code for a TAB character is "&#9;" or "&#09;" but have not tested this. Don't include quotes when adding the character code, just the ampersand, semicolon, and everything in-between.
    Also, sounds like your tags are mapping ok for you, so your XML should look something like:
    <sentencetag>&#9;<numbertag>1</numbertag>&#9;The dog runs fast</sentencetag>.
    It should't matter where you put the TAB character equivalent in relation to your nested tag.

  • Auto mapping of Columns to custom XML tags

    Hello:
    I would like to build interface to my Oracle database. Instead of exposing the column names, I would like to translate them to business-savvy XML tags. Of course, I can do this by using the AS construct in my SELECT statements.
    I would like to know whether there exists any advanced features in Oracle that automatically do this function.
    Thank you.
    Venkat

    Once you the get the output in xml format from oraext:query-database function you can apply an xsl function to transform it and do the required.

  • Unmapping styles to remove XML tags

    I have an AppleScript that sets up an XML Export Map for style to tag mapping, using a known set of customer styles, and I'm adding a check for non-standard (unmapped) styles to include those as well as unknownstyle tags. This is all working well.
    What I'd like to do now is create an Unmap script that would remove all style level tags, leaving just frame level tags. The customer is working with K4, and sometimes articles will be reworked after initial processing, or be copied to start a new version of the file. So we'd like tags out for a cleaner file at that stage, which they'll then retag at the end of the editing prior to export.
    While this is easy through the UI (edit style to tag mapping, and choose [Not Mapped] as the target tag for a given style sheet), I can't find any way of doing the same through AppleScript. I have tried setting the markup tag property to "", null, 0, [Not Mapped], and a few other things, without success.
    Does anyone know of a way of doing this, or know if it is unsupported on the script side so I can stop looking?
    Thanks, John

    Hi Marc,
    It looks like that is the way to go. I was hoping to find a way to unmap specific style sheets, since that would be the direct opposite of the process used to add style sheet level tags in the first place. (And the articles also contain frame level tags, which I do not want disturbed by this process.) But while that action is possible through the UI, it does not appear to be supported via scripting.
    However, by looping through and untagging XML elements of XML elements of the main XML element, the result appears to be correct. I'm not entirely clear why this is working, since the second level is not just the frame level tags, but the results look good, so as long as this keeps working I won't worry about exactly why.
    Thanks,
    - John
