Edit stage size without effecting elements position.

Question.  Can you change the size of your stage, say smaller than what you started with, so that when you move your elements to the new position of the stage the motion paths do get messed up because you moved everything?
I have a "full" page layout that I would like to cut in half but the stage jumps to a "middle" point and when I try to move all my elements, some with motion paths, it increases the distance of the path and destroys it.  I don't see any way of locking the paths to move an element and I have 23 elements with paths to move so moving each would suck.
I know Edge is basically in Beta 24, 7 because it's still not flushed out anywhere near where it could be.  If they just allowed you to adjust the stage size by locking a region kinda like page size in Photoshop or adjusting the page like in Illustrator with cropping.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan.

Hi Colin,
Thanks for the fast reply.
I guess I checked fullscreen when creating the project, however, when setting fullScreen to false (and uncommenting the still commented node?!) in de descriptor file I get the following compile error:
Error occurred while packaging the application:
/private/var/folders/gv/gv-j1H1UFJ4olvFpGwVTVk+++TI/-Tmp-/AOT1309729499262/Box2DiPad-app.x ml(109): error 103: application.initialWindow.fullScreen is an unexpected element/attribute
User error somewhat or bug?
... Rats! In case anyone messes up like me: The fullscreen node gets rewritten all the way at the bottom of the initialWindow section. So it needs to be changed there....
Is there anyone who can shed some light on AIR 2.7 update progress?
Thanks,
Manno

    Here is another note:
    When you select all objects on a sublayer, that selection is behaving as it is a group.
    Therefore it does not transform as you should expect.
    If you leave one object out of your selection, everything is working fine (selection is not treated as a group).
    This is not happening when all objects on a layer are selected.
    I don't know if this is just a coincidence or is it meant to work this way.
    If it was designed to work this way, it would be nice to find something about it in the help file.

    What are you going for....DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on DVD disc or AVCHD format on DVD disc?
    Are you doing your burn to disc with a check mark next to "Fit Content To Available Space" in the burn dialog?
    When you have the DVD 4.7 GB/120 min in the burner tray and are in the burn dialog ready to hit Burn, what does the burn dialog quality area show for Space Require and Bitrate with and without the check mark next to "Fit Content To Available Space"?
    Just in case mention....the DVD disc with the 4.7 GB/120 min in reality is 4.38 GB.
    The goal is to find out if you are overlooking the "Fit Content To Available Space" option in the burn dialog. Depending on the circumstances to be defined, use of that option does not necessarily mean a compromise in the end product quality.
    Let us start here and then move forward based on the details of your reply.

  • Change stage size in web browser without scaling

    I need to change the stage's size without auto scaling (i.e.
    cropping is ok) so that the user can scroll up/down the stage
    either with the browser's scrollbars or custom scroll bars I
    create. The height of the swf's contents change and so I need to
    change the stage's size or somehow crop it so that it would match
    the browser's size.

    At Adobe's web site at
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/samples/
    you'll find a link to the zipped sample files. In there, you'll
    find a folder titled "StageSize". Take a look at this example, it
    may explain how to achieve what you want to do.

  • One Size Fits All? (Stage size for best display on iOS and Android)

    I'm beating my head against the wall trying to find the one proper stage size that will accommodate all iOS devices and all Android devices adequately.
    I've been following Colin Holgate's informative posts and am using the   stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_BORDER;  approach.
    However, I'm not sure what I should be setting the dimensions of my stage to, as the suggestions I found of Colin's seem to be prior to the release of iPhone 5 and the iPad retina display.
    Can anyone recommend a stage size that would work best in trying to accommodate the wide variety of devices out there?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Mike

    Maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't this an easier way to place a button in the top right (assuming center point is in top left of button)?
    button.x = stage.stageWidth - button.width;
    button.y = 0;
    edit: I suppose that doesn't apply to show_all. I'm used to using
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    We've done this with banners at the top and bottom. If you design a banner for a specific aspect ratio, you can do something like
    banner.width = stage.stageWidth;
    banner.scaleY = banner.scaleX;
    This causes the banner to fill the width of the screen and change height proportionately. If you want to have more control over the elements in the banner, something like
    banner.background.width = stage.stageWidth;
    var newHeight:int = stage.stageHeight / 8;
    banner.background.height = stage.stageHeight / 8;
    banner.buttonBack.height = newHeight;
    banner.buttonBack.scaleX = banner.buttonBack.scaleY;
    banner.buttonBack.x = banner.buttonBack.y = 0;
    banner.title.height = newHeight / 2;
    banner.title.scaleX = banner.title.scaleY;
    banner.title.x = banner.buttonBack.x + banner.buttonBack.width * 1.2;
    banner.title.y = newHeight / 2;
    etc
    This might not be what you're looking for at all, but I find it works well for resizing.
    When asked to convert a fixed-size iPad app to one that dynamically resized for Android devices, we found it infeasible to completely recode the app in the time required, so we mixed dynamic resizing like above with throwing lots of objects into an empty MovieClip and scaling the MovieClip to fit the current stage size. This didn't hurt performance much, even when running graphics designed for the iPad's 2048*1536 retina display on much smaller screens.

  • How do I reduce the size of all elements in a Motion project proportionately and simultaneously?

    I have created a complex Motion project with many elements.  Does anyone know how to reduce the size of all elements proportionately and simultaneously in order to shrink this down to a corner logo? Thanks

    Sure.
    In the Layers pane,  IF all of your layers are already in a single Group (if you're really a beginner, then you probably just have the one group), all you need to do is select the Group "layer" containing your design elements and clone it (type - k) -- you'll get a new layer in a new group if it's a top level group of the project called Clone Layer.  (If you have more than one group, select all of them --- however, if there is an FCPX Placeholder-drop-zone-looking-layer with a label like Effect Source or Title Background, don't select that -- you'll need to command-click select just the layers that make up your logo design). [You can alternately select *everything* and command click the layers you do not want to include in the Clone.]
    Creating a clone of anything in no way changes that object or objects.  A clone is like a composite viewer for objects/layers -- like a tv screen is to broadcast signals...
    Uncheck the Cloned Group (or selected objects - if still selected, unchecking one will uncheck all of the selected layers) to inactivate it (this will not affect the clone visibility.)
    Select the Clone Layer.
    Use the Properties > Transform tools to scale and position the clone layer (changing the blend mode to something like hard light, overlay or similar, and adjusting the opacity makes for a nice "watermark" [corner logo]).

  • How to insert pictures without effecting the audio 1 and sound track

    I am new to Premiere elements 10 and I am having trouble when I am moving clips such as pictures into the middle of the timeline between video clips.
    When I move a picture directly to the middle of the time line it clips and separates the music I have on the soundtrack.   I found through Lynda.com and Adobe Help that if you hold down the "alt" key while inserting the new picture you will not effect the soundtrack or other tracks.   This issue I have with the alt key is now the rest of the clips in the timeline have the audio 1 track and the video 1 track offset by the duration of the picture that was inserted.  My project is over an hour long so its hard to go back and straighten this out.
    What is the best way to handle this???
    Adding extra video clips into the middle of the project works great with the alt key because the video 1 and audio 1 moves together.

    Steve,
    I did purchase the book and it has been quite helpful.  One more question on pictures.  One page 46 you talk about downsizing the pictures and unchecking frame to scale on page 48.   My computer was crashing after putting in about 1 hour of video and few hundred pictures so I was pretty interested in this suggestion.
    When I resize the pictures to 1000 x 750 and uncheck the frame to scale my pictures show up too large on the screen and crops off part of the picture.   Of course if I go to 640 x 480 it looks OK.   I am not really sure what the advantage of unchecking the frame to scale.  It seems like a fail  safe method.
    I am using a project setting DV NTSC since that matches my mini DV tapes.
    Question:
    1.   Better to resize to 640 x 480 and uncheck frame to scale?
    2.  resize to 1000 x 750 and leave the frame to scale checked?
    3. Resize to 640 x 480 and change the project setting so future pictures will not be frame to scale?
    I just want to have the system more reliable and quit crashing but still maintain the high quality.   I am using a AMD Phenom II x 4  830 processor, 2.8 G Hz, Windows 64, 6 GB RAM.
    The first option means I have to reload all my pictures. Changing the size in the same folder with Photoshop process multi files is easy, but I cannot change the frame to size without reloading everything since it was originally checked when I started the project.

  • Is there a way to edit in Imovie without the format being DV?

    So I have to give a small project to someone just to decide what parts they want in and out. I was going to use Imovie because it is easy for them to use. Problem is I don't want the file size to be too big. I don't care about quality, this is just for them to see what parts of an interview to keep. I would like to be able to import mp4's or some other compressed format and have Imovie keep it in this format and not convert it to DV. It's a difference of 2MB vs 75MB. I tried when I opened a new project to change the video format but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Tanks for the quick replies everyone! I think some of the replies that mis understood my question though. I want to actually send the Imovie file to the person. This is what I am doing
    I have 23 clips from different interviews. I want to send a Imovie file to this person so that he can put them in the order he wants the clips to go in, move them around, delete them and so on. I am just using this as a reference for the file. I am working in final cut and I am going to just use what he does in the Imovie file as a guideline of what I will be editing. In final cut you can change what the timeline video format is (jpeg, mp4, etc) so you can share edits and files without sending the full uncompressed video files. This is kinda what I want to do.
    Thanks

  • Changing Stage size at runtime

    I have been poking around and not finding any info on this.
    What I want to do is change the height of the STAGE (not a
    MovieClip) based
    on which view I'm showing the customer at a particular time.
    For instance...
    I may have a thumbnail and a detail view for a product. I
    don't need a lot
    of screen real estate to show the thumbnail view, but I'd
    like to make the
    swf taller if the user switches to the detail view.
    I don't simply want to make the swf taller by default because
    I'll have a
    ton of unused whitespace in thumbnail view, which will look
    stupid.
    I shouldn't have a problem with the JavaScript to change the
    height
    properties in the HTML tags for the Flash object, but not
    really sure if/how
    to do the other part in Flash. Everything I've seen so far
    has been
    read-only properties.
    Thanks,
    Chris.

    did you change stage size?
    how can you do this without javascript?

  • Creation of field without data element

    Hi all,
    i want to create a field SLNO without data element, i.e. by assigning direct data type NUMC.
    by doing so while activating it is giving the below message.
    "The table must be adjusted by unloading and reloading
    it in the database. This function has a long runtime and should
    not be performed while the table is being used for production."
    "If you want to start the adjustment nevertheless,
    select a processing type and choose 'Adjust'.
    Otherwise choose 'Terminate'."
    pls let me know which is better i.e. by assingning direct data type, or else can i create a data element with type as 'NUMC'.
    Regards,
    venkat

    hi venkat,
    when creating the db table in se 11 ,if u want to use predefined data type ie char,numc,date etc ... With in se14,in fields tab, click predefined type button which is placed in the first row along with cut ,delete icons.
    When u click predefinedtype button, the field named data type will be enabled and its there ready for editing.Choose the data type u need and data length etc.
    If u r creating the db for the first time, there is no need for , adjusting the db table using se14.
    But if u r trying to edit a db ,that is already been created , then make neccessary changes in the db and go to se14. There give ur edited db name, and click "activate and adjust database " button...Ensure that "save data " option button is selected.
    Note:
    If u r making any structural  changes in already existing db ,then use se14 to adjust ,save and activate the db.
    Hope the content is usefull
    please change the problem  status if its resolved .Thank you.
    thanks

  • SCN document: 'Insert Image' greyed out at a certain stage/size

    I noticed  a similar issue likeTammy has reported in discussion/thread .Cannot insert or upload an image
    After having inserted text and several images to a draft document, the 'Insert Image' icon became greyed out at a certain stage/size.
    I did some tests following document Solution for Error: Cannot Insert Images on SCN Content, but the the behavior remained the same. Only after having deleted the last inserted image in the document > Save Draft > Edit again the 'Insert Image' icon was not greyed out anymore which is argueing for a size restriction.
    The same html coding as in the document put into a blog does not grey out the ‘Insert Image’ icon. But I found out that after clicking on the ‘Insert Image’ icon > ‘From your Computer’  tab ‘Browse’ is greyed out. Strange and argueing against a size limit is, when I choose ‘Uploaded Images’ I can select images and still  insert them into the blog.
    Does someone have similar experiences / can assist.
    Thank you, Barbara

    We have a recent discussion in SCN support.
    He has same problem. Have a look into the discussion Issue with 'Insert Image' button while creating document in SCN
    I suggest to split you document into two part as part 1 and part 2.

  • Video editing & playback issues: Adobe Premiere Elements 8

    Hello all,
    I have made several attempts at transfering HD video  files from my camcorder to my PC and then editing.
    When I try to play the transferred file, it is a little choppy and then gets worse as I edit it.
    Here are my specs/config:
    System:
    HP Pavilion a6720y
    Windows Vista 64 bit
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 440
    AMD Phenon 9550 Quad Core 2.2Ghz
    6GB RAM
    640GB SATA drive, 7200 rpm
    Camera:
    Sony HDR-XR150
    Editing Software:
    Adobe Premiere Elements 8
    I copy the video files from the camcorder to the computer via USB 2.0.
    When I connect the camera directly to the TV the video plays without any issues.  So I know the AVCHD files are "good" and I suspect they are also possibly "good" on my hard drive, but just cannot be played or edited appropriately for some reason.
    One input I received was that due to the nature of AVCHD files, I should convert the video to "I-frame codec" and then edit.  Can Adobe Premiere Elements do this?
    Any other thoughts/ideas?
    Thanks for any help.

    2 - 320Gig data for Win7 swap file and video project files
    When I create a project on #2 drive, the various work files follow,
    so my boot drive is not used for the media cache folder and files

    Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
    You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
    Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
    You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
    A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
    You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
    I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
    Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing
    Steve Grisetti in the Premiere Elements forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856208 and Jim Simon in the Premiere Pro forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856433 use USB externals for editing
    A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used the eSata Dock below... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual disclaimers

  • Illustrator's font is different for some reason and hard to read, I need to change it so i can read all the tabs and file names. Like file, edit, options, type, select, effects..... swatches, layers.. every tab is in a different font that is hard to read

    Illustrator's tabs are all in a different font that I can read.
    I need to know how to change it so I can get back to a steady workflow.
    For example..
    File, edit, options, type, select,  effects, view, windows, help..... pathfinder, layers, swatches, stroke, and the file name (all the tabs)
    are all in a different font, I don't know how it got changed but now it is different.
    This is a shared computer so someone might have changes it on accident but I'm not sure.

    Many of your points are totally legitimate.
    This one, however, is not:
    …To put it another way, the design of the site seems to be geared much more towards its regular users than those the site is supposedly trying to "help"…
    The design and management of the forums for more than five years have driven literally dozens of the most valuable contributors and "regulars" away from the forums—permanently.
    The only conclusion a prudent, reasonable person can draw from this state of affairs is that Adobe consciously and deliberately want to kill these forums by attrition—without a the PR hit they would otherwise take if they suddenly just shut them down.

  • Theme Editor, changing size of all elements

    Hi all,
    I'd like to enlarge the font size of all elements in my WebDynpro ABAP application.
    I made a copy of sap_tradeshow in the stand-alone Theme Editor and set the parameter "Base Font Size" for "Text" in "Global Styles Content Area" to xx-large. The help for this parameter says that this would have the same effect as enlarging the font size in the Browser.
    Setting the parameter enlarges most of the texts and elements like buttons. Unfortunately the text in tables, listboxes and comboboxes is still small.
    Does anybody know how to change the size of these elements?
    Regards
    Frank

    Not sure what went wrong the first time I attempted to resize
    the ScrollPane elements - but on a second attempt, this all seemed
    to work fine. I had to individually set the Properties on each
    changed element to "Export in First Frame", but apart from that, It
    was easy in the end. I now have bright turquoise 40x40 pixel up and
    down arrows and thumb-bar to match!

  • Flash CC Brush Tool abruptly stops drawing when stage size is small

    When using the Brush Tool, I'm having an issue that the stroke I'm drawing will abrupty cut off at a certain point on the screen (roughly halfway down the monitor, it doesn't relate to the canvas position or any coordinates).  This seems to happen when I have the Stage size set to a smaller size (64 x 64 pixels for example).  I've been able to reproduce the same behavior on multiple files, and on both a Windows 8.1 machine and a Windows 7 machine, both using the up-to-date version of Flash CC.  Both machines are dual monitor, I'm not sure if that plays a factor in this.
    To reproduce:
    1.  Create a new FLA in Flash CC and set the stage size to 64 x 64 pixels.
    2.  Use the Brush Tool and attempt to draw from the top to the bottom of the screen (zoom level and position on the canvas does not matter, as long as your cursor is going from near the top of your monitor to the bottom of your monitor).
    3.  The stroke will abruptly cut off mid-drawing at a certain point on the screen, roughly half-way down.  You can continue to draw and move upwards and it will reappear when it crosses this barrier again.
    This does not happen if the stage size is set to something larger (640 x 480 for example).  This also does happen in Flash CS5 or CS6, and have only noticed this happening in Flash CC.
    This is happening using the mouse for drawing, and also happened when I tested it on a different PC with a Wacom tablet attached.
    Is this happening for others as well, and is there any fix for this behavior?  (aside from always using a large stage size)

    Hi All,
