Edit table data through multiple forms

Hi everyone,
I have a report page with records from a table. I want to edit the records through multiple forms: one form holds half of the columns to edit, another form holds the rest.
I'm not sure how to create the connections between the pages with the forms and the report page with the record to edit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ways you could go about this:
1. Manually create the items on each page, then on the final page have your own process with the code: insert into <table> (1,2,3,4,5) values (:p1_item, :p1_item2, :p1_item3, :p2_item1, :p2_item2);
2. Have a DML process on each page, only with the columns you want to insert - of course, the items on the pages after the first form page would have to be nullable (which isn't really a good idea imo, unless of course it follows the business rules), otherwise you wouldn't be able to do the initial insert on the first form page - then after create have a branch to the next form page, passing in the primary key to the next page, so its just updating the row when you hit apply changes.

    I would not recommend touching the standard tables at all unless you are being guided by the SR. For a record to be in the standard table it should go through series of validations based on the what operation you are performing and some times datas are dependent upon the other tables, and also some times the same records are hit to so many other tables simultaneously.
    Therefore I would not recommend this brother.

    Hi,
    To display the Table in the Adobe Form you must create a WebDynpro Context.
    In WebDynpro Context, in the main node create another node like A1 with cardinality 0..n and in this node create attributes FIELD1 and FIELD2 and so on.
    Now goto method and in that method using code wizard read the node A1.
    And use the below code snippet sample in your program, i.e. code this under respective method of the webdynpro.
    *Declare the TYPES
    TYPES : BEGIN OF TY_TABLE,
    FIELD1 TYPE SOMETYPE,
    FIELD2 TYPE SOMETYPE,
    END OF TY_TABLE.
    *Define Internal Table and work area.
    DATA : IT_TABLE TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF TY_TABLE INITIAL SIZE 0.
    SELECT FIELD1 FIELD2 FROM TABLENAME INTO TABLE IT_TABLE.
    lr_node_info->bind_table( IT_TABLE ).
    And now goto Layout and give the TemplateSource and after that it asks for the interface name fill on that and select the relevant context. Now the LiveCycle Designer opens. There goto DataView pallette, there you can see the context of the webdynpro, now you simply drag and drop that table, a table is being created in the Layout Designer.

    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a Visual Studio workflow to get data from info path repeating table.
    I suggest you can submit Repeating Table to a SharePoint List and then you can create a .NET workflow to read data from the SharePoint List.

  • Unable to edit table data, but not for all tables

    I have multiple tables in a schema. For some tables, I am able make edits to table data directly, i.e., context menu Table | Open, and the Data tab. When I am able to edit, I do get a pencil icon inside the cell I am editing/typing (and am able to commit the changes). When I am not able to edit, it does nothing (no error messages, sound, or visual cue). I thought it had to do with who owns the table object, but I log in as the same owner of the affected table objects.
    Any pointers would be greatly appreciated so I am equipped when asking the DBA.

  • Materialized view on a Partitioned Table (Data through Exchange Partition)

    We have a scenario to create a MV on a Partitioned Table which get data through Exchange Partition strategy. Obviously, with exchange partition snap shot logs are not updated and FAST refreshes are not possible. Also, this partitioned table being a 450 million rows, COMPLETE refresh is not an option for us.
    I would like to know the alternatives for this approach,

    From your post it seems that you are trying to create a fast refresh view (as you are creating MV log). There are limitations on fast refresh which is documented in the oracle documentation.

    If you are not planning to do a fast refresh then as already mentioned by Solomon it is a valid approach used in multiple scenarios.

    The tables list is not static, and those are selecting through dynamic sql
    query.
    Can any body tell help me how to write the export command to export tables

    but its throws the following error
    EXP-00035: QUERY parameter valid only for table mode exports

    Hi,
    You can dynamically generate parameter file for export utility using shell script. This export parameter file can contain any table list you want every time. Then simply run the command
    $ exp parfile=myfile.txt

    iam trying  to convert the internal table data into excel format and sending it through mail by runnning the report in foreground.
    mail is going sucessfully with excel format,but iam facing the problem in the excel format of the material column as follows:
    the matrno shows the wrong format -2.63E+11  instead of displaying correct format-263215000000.
    Pls suggest the alternative process for the above mentioned problem.

    Hi Siva,
      Try to copy 263215000000 in one of the cells of excel sheet and press enter.It will automatically convert into -2.63E+11 .
      This means the default formatting of the excel sheet makes this happen.If you convert the format of the cell to "NUMBER" then u will get the required result.
      But I doubt whether or not it is possible through ABAP programming.

  • Transfer table data through DB Link

    Hi, hope somebody can help me with this one.
    I have got two oracle servers (one is v.8 and the other v.9i)and i want to transfer a table (structure + data) from the v.8 one to the other. Let4s assume that i am issuing SQL commands from the TARGET (v.9i) server. I have an DB Link already pointing to the tablespace on the source server so reading from the source table is not a problem, in fact, it works quick and nicely with commands like:
    INSERT INTO Table USING
    SELECT *
    FROM Table@DBLink_to_Remote_DB
    The problem starts when i try to transfer a table with a LONG column in its structure. It gives me an ORA-00600 Oracle Internal Error. It doesn4t look good at all. Should i assume that someone else have already tried this with no problems, and, thus, consider that this is an Oracle bug? Anyway... could i transfer this table using a DB Link at all? Any other suggestions?

    I don't think it's possible to trasfer long data through a DB link. It's an Oracle restriction.

    No, you can't change the way this built-in command works. You can either process it later on in Excel, or you would need to use a custom-made script and an Action to collect the data in the format you want in Acrobat and then export it.

  • Clear the table data in PDF form

    I am workin gon WD ABAP, where i  have a Interactive UI elelemt, and i am calling a PDF in to it.
    The PDF has a table, of which i am able to display , read  and save the data to Database.
    But after clicking on the save button , i want the table data to be cleared, which is not happening.
    I tried with binding with an empty internal table, but that gives an error "SOM Expression....."..!!
    Can any one let me know how to clear the PDF table data after clicking on some button.?

    I am not sure about PDF as never worked on it but we can clear the table on view by simply invalidating the node by which you have binded your table. try to invalidate if it helps...

  • Error in populating table data through forms

    I had one SIM REPLACEMENT Form which has a base block table PPBS_SIM_CHANGE.
    Once all the entires are entered the table gets populated.
    But some times it seen that the base table does not get populated.Also the form does not gives any error.Pl help me to find out the error.
    In the Save button the following code is written

    Why do you create a Save button in the first place? Forms already has its own Save botton.

    If you are trying to add data to a standard SAP table then you should use a FM or BAPI for that but if the table is not standard then you can use following steps but it would be better to do it using FM or BAPI.
    Do the following(without FM/BAPI):
    1. Crate a context in your view mapped to the fields of the database table.
    2. Now use this context as the data source for the form.
    3. Map the fields of the form with the attributes of the context.
    4. Now create a button on the form or on your view which has a action event handler method.
    5. In the method use code wizard to read the context attached to adobe form. By default it will create a structure containing data, which will be sufficient for adding one record at a time.
    6. Now use this structure to add data to table using SQL queries.
    Do the following for FM/BAPI integration:
    1. Create a FM/BAPI which has the functionality to add data to your SAP table.
    2. Now use service call to add the FM/BAPI fields as a context to your web dynpro component's context.
    3. Now map it with the view where the adobe form is created.
    4. Follow steps 2nd, 3rd and 4th as above.
    5. Now in your Action method use code wizard to call the method created by service call to FM/BAPI.
    This will work as required.
