Editing apex build in pages

hi all,
i have a requirement in which i want to redirect from my own created apex page to apex build in page. i am able to do that.
however how to come back to my application page again as it is not possible to edit build in apex pages.
Can anyone help me regarding this.

To set a column colour to a specific numeric value, first click on one of the columns to select it. Then go to the Graphic Inspector palette, and select "Color Fill" from the Fill dropdown menu if it is not already selected. Then, click the colored square just below the menu to bring up the Colors palette. At the top of the palette is a horizontal row of icons (if not, click the small lozenge at the upper right to reveal these icons). Choose the icon with the two horizontal sliders (the tooltip will label this "Color Sliders". This palette is where you can enter numeric values for colours, and select different colour spaces (HSB, RGB, CMYK, Grayscale). You will have to convert from hex to either percentage or 256 levels, depending on the palette, but this is relatively straightforward.

hi,
im using oravle application express. APEX
i would like to build a page with multiple forms linked to one table (orders) , the page has 4 from each one with different order_id number (depending on filtering), and if the order is prepared click yes for each order and this 'YES' should be UPDATED AND SAVED to each order number in the same table with the press of one button.
i created all the form as (sql query)
and create one update process

i dont know really if i can do that, but it appear hat it actually saving according to order_id number , but not all the time some time it saved the value as "null".
please guide me what is the correct way to do this.

I am no Apex expert, but with a situation as "complex" as yours, have you thought about creating a VIEW that joins these 7/8 tables, placing an INSTEAD OF trigger on that view to do all the business logic in the database, and base your application on the view?
This is the "thick-database" approach that has been gaining momentum of late. The idea is to put your business logic in the database wherever possible, and let the application (Form, Apex, J2EE, whatever) concentrate on UI issues,

APEX - New Installation - Pages not displaying correctly

I installed APEX 3.0.1 on my XP machine, which also has Oracle Enterprise 10.2.0.1 installed. I checked the installation log - no errors.
I performed the following to get it working via the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway:

However, when I go to the login page, the images are not displayed and when I try to use some of the other links, I repeatedly get prompted for a password for XDB.

the installation instruction isn't really clear on that, but "Embedded PL/SQL Gateway" is not supported for pre-11g databases. See http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/3.0_fsps.html#08

Requirements for building jsp pages

wht are the basic requirements for building jsp pages
or even 4 wrkin on j2ee..
new to j2ee and hv exp on j2se

It's depends what OS you have:
Windows -- IIS + Tomcat
Linux(FreeBSD) -- Apache + Tomcat (or Resin, but I prefer Tomcat);
Of couse you should have a text editor to edit *.jsp file :-)

Patrick: As always, great work! There are some areas in the Builder that definitely need some productivity enhancements. And Greasemonkey (and its CSS companion Stylish) are the ultimate "self empowerment" tools! Don't like something about a website, fire up GM and change it!
[I am sure the APEX team is paying close attention and will incorporate some of these enhancements into upcoming versions of the product]
My pet peeve is re-ordering columns on the Report Attributes page (4000:420). The up/down arrows introduced in 2.2 are a welcome enhancement over the earlier versions where every up/down incurred a page refresh, but re-ordering items in a list is a task that just has to be done via drag-and-drop! What I usually do is just fire up the Javascript shell bookmarklet http://www.squarefree.com/shell/ from the page I need and type away, loading other JS libraries as needed.

Loading up those 3 Scriptaculous libraries and making the relevant TBODY a "Sortable" is all that is needed.
Works like a charm, I can re-order the rows by dragging anywhere on the row. The visual feedback is not very intuitive (ghosting:false) but as per the Scriptaculous folks, this is a limitation with current browsers (that TABLE, TBODY, etc block elements are not able to be properly moved around the DOM). After all the dragging and dropping is done, just call that "reorder_set()" function to reset the internal array before clicking Apply Changes. Works like a charm. Yes, that reorder_set() function should be called automatically via one of the "drag stop" callback hooks provided by the Sortable object, I tried using the onUpdate but it didn't quite work.

hi friends i have been trying to find a way to redirect from list edit form to another page using javascript and jquery
i found lot of codes online but non of them are working for me.
what i need is i have to save the data in the form and after that it has to redirect to another page. it has to get the url from hyperlink field of the item.

How can you restrict what gets edited on a web page?

I have a template with only 1 editable region. It seems that publishers and writers are able to edit *anything* on the page....
What am I doing wrong?

Hard to say without seeing the template. Regions not marked as editable should only be editable in the templates. You shouldn't even be able to edit them in Dreamweaver.
Are you by chance just using include files (for navigation and such)?

How to Edit or PDF Multiple Page Tiles in CS2 doc while working in CS4?

I have to resave this file as CS2, so I need to be able to edit and PDF original Page Tiles from CS2, not convert to Artboards. There is no Edit Page tiles, only View Page Tiles. When I go to save as PDF, there is no "multiple pages" option under General as stated elsewhere, and it PDF's as one huge "artboard" even though there are multiple page "tiles". Thanks in advance!

If you want to save an editable Illustrator file for CS2 then you save as .ai not as .pdf.
You can still Show Print Tiling in the View menu. Use the Print dialogue to set up the paper size, orientation, and tiling options, then click Done.

Unable to edit one of the pages in Dreamweaver CC

I am trying to edit one of the pages of a club website thru Dreamweaver CC. I can edit other pages in the website, just not the Calendar. It shows the Logo at the top of the page and the Links on the left side of the page, but the remainder of the page is black with a line of code across the middle. If I click to Live View, it shows up fine, but I can't figure out how to edit the page.

Why is the tab being edited at the "master" page always in active state when i am selecting other tabs?

i am trying to create a basic mobile site with adobe muse. i have created a page with tabbed panels using the the tabbed panel widget and link each tab to its respective pages. let's call my tabs 1, 2 and 3. the linking are fine, but everytime i selected 2 or 3, tab 1 will also be in active state. the selected tab is with reference to the tab that is being edited at the "master" page, i.e, if i am editing tab 2 at the "master" page, tab 2 will always be active when i select tab 1 or 3.
i do not need this kind of confusion. can anyone help?

Hi,
This is an expected behavior of tabbed panel . When you add a tabbed panel in the master page by default one of the tabs is Active. So whenever you load the page, whichever tab you had selected in the Master page will always be active along with the other tab which you used as a link.
I would suggest you to use a Menu widget or a composition widget in order to avoid this.

Determine if the user is in edit mode (on the page)

My page parameters get lost every time I go into edit mode on the page. I need to know when the user is in edit mode (vs view mode) so that I can submit an event to repost the parameter back to the page. The only difference I can find between edit and view mode is the parameter: "_mode=16" gets attached to the end of the url. Yet, when I try this code:
String pageParamMode= (String)request.getParameter("_mode");
out.print("pageParamMode = " + pageParamMode + " ");
It returns null. I need a reliable way to tell which mode the user is in. Could someone please help?

Got it figured out. I can get the page url then check it for the existance of the string '_mode=16". If it exists, then we are in edit mode. Else in view mode. Here is a bit of code: 
PortletRenderRequest pReq = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST); 
String url = pReq.getRenderContext().getPageURL(); 
String mode = url.indexOf("_mode=16") > 0 ? "Edit" : "View";

Can't make comments editable on template child pages

Is there a way to make comments editable on template child pages. When making editable regions, comments are not included. I need to make comments editable on child pages. How do I do this.
