Editing flash loader in captivate

hi,
i'm using captivate 5.5 and i want to edit the loader default file with an image to match our company's logo.
i don't want to build to loader from scratch (i'm not an AS3 expert), just change the current image.
it's should be the same as the progression bar currently displaying the adobe captivate just with a diffrent image (that i will change step by step).
i was wondering if there is anywhere a guide that explains how the fla of the loader is build, what each code means etc..
so i'll know what to edit where??
also, the default file is the only file loading or are there any other files attached to edit that i need to edit as well?
also, after i edit the file (a duplicated copy), how to i link it in captivate to be the loader?
thank you.
hila/

Hello Hila,
You can access the FLA files required to edit the SWF at <Installed Folder>\en_US\Gallery\Preloaders\AS3\ There is no documentation as such but it should be easier if you know how to work with Flash. This is the only file which is loading. When you modify the file and publish it as SWF, you can select this file in Preferences.
Thanks,
Vish

  • Load a Captivate movie in a Flash movie

    I'm trying to load a captivate 5.5 swf into flash, even with a simple script like:
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("captivate.swf");
    var cargar:Loader = new Loader()
    cargar.load(request);
    var mc:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
    this.addChild(mc);
    addChild(cargar);
    I get an actionscript error:
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: No se ha definido la variable pbcBtnTips_FRA.
    at Aluminum_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: No se ha definido la variable pbcBtnTips_SPA.
    at Localization/frame1()
    This seems to be happen only to non-english Captivates, ie Spanish version.
    Any ideas?

    You could pause the Captivate project when you start to preload it by using the Captivate system variables. Then when your file has been loaded 100% you could resume it again by using a different system variable.
    You can see a list of the various system variables here: http://www.cpguru.com/2009/04/28/system-variables-in-captivate-4-%e2%80%93-a-complete-list /
    The relevant variables for you would be:
    rdcmndPause = 1; (to pause the project)
    rdcmndResume = 1; (to resume playback)
    Naturally you need the instancename (where you load your Captivate movie into) infront of the variable name.
    myLoaderContainer.rdcmndPause = 1;

  • Flash animations in Captivate look choppy

    I am using Flash animations in Captivate 3. The animations
    are published to Flash Player 6 before being embedded in Captivate.
    The Captivate project is in turn published to Flash Player 9.
    The animations look good in the published Captivate SWF when
    I run the SWF directly in Flash Player. However, if I run the SWF
    in a browser (I tried both IE & Firefox, having Flash Player
    9.0.45.0), the animations look very choppy and slow. What could be
    the reason?
    Regards,
    Mohsin

    Kevin & Rick,
    Thanks for your responses. I diagnosed the problem. It did
    not have anything to do with frame rates.
    What was actually happening is that my Captivate SWF was
    1024x768 originally, but when opening it in an HTML, I was NOT
    loading it at 100% of its size. Instead, I was loading it at
    880x660 in the OBJECT tag of my HTML, which was causing the issue.
    Even when I would open the SWF directly using IE, IE would resize
    the content in order to display it completely, thereby causing the
    animations playing within to rescale. This, somehow, made them look
    choppy.
    Cheers!

  • Flash loading very slow in IE 9 with latest updates

    Dear Members
    Hello to all members myself is Kaustav Banerjee from India and I am into a manufacturing business. Recently I have developed our company's website through a professional website designing company but unfortunately I am having serious issues with Flash in IE 9.
    Let me tell you the details
    Flash version 11.1.102.55 ( The latest version )
    IE 9  version 9.0.8112.16421 ( The latest version)
    Our website  - www.ideasincrafts.com
    OS Version ( WIN 7 32 bit )
    The problem I am having is the website takes very long time to load the flash animation and when somebody opens the home page in IE 9 the user only looks at a flash placeholder with borders. Sometimes the flash loads and sometime it doesn't. Also when the user clicks on the links of the website the flash loading procedure starts again and its quite frustrating.
    The weird thing is the flash displays properly on the other browsers like Firefox and Google chrome.
    I really hope you members can guide us through this issue as the web designing company I am working with doesn't have a clue at all why this is happening.
    I am attaching the image of the problem.
    Thanks with best regards
    Kaustav Banerjee

  • Edit-flash button grayed out

    Hey, I have Dreamweaver MX2004 and Flash MX2004 normally
    installed on my computer. Although my edit-flash button is grayed
    out when i'm in the properties panel of the .swf document (who i
    added to my document with Insert >> Media >> Flash)
    http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/8024/helplr4.jpg
    I searched alot for this, but it does not seem to happen to
    anyone. Can somebody help me? Thanks.

    No, PSE 6 and later never displays an icon for a sub-category.  If you accidentally created a sub-category where a leaf keyword tag will do, change the sub-category to a keyword tag by right-clicking it, and then you'll be able to assign an icon.  But if you change the keyword tag back to a sub-category, the icon will disappear.
    None of that design seems very well thought out.

  • CS3 Web Standard SE. Can't edit Flash buttons

    I have an issue where I am unable to edit Flash buttons or
    Flash text that have been created in DW CS3.
    I am using CS4 Web Standard SE. A colleague of mine is using
    the same software and also unable to edit these.
    Until now I thought it was maybe a trial issue but have today
    activated the software. But the issue remains.

    It's not a Trial issue. It's a conscious design decision by
    Adobe announced
    in Aug 07.
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402489
    Flash buttons and Flash text have always been ill conceived
    features for
    webpages.
    Adobe recognised this by dropping them from DW CS4.
    If you still want to keep them and edit them, use DW CS3.
    However, consider using CSS styled buttons instead.

  • When importing a flash animation into captivate flash will not call external files

    Is there a way to import flash into captivate and it still be able to call external files (ie. sound, video xml)? When I import flash into captivate it will not call any external file.

    Hi all
    Wow, I was so hoping fellow Adobe Community Expert Paul Dewhurst would pop in on this thread.
    Why? Well, Paul sent me a way cool gizmo a while back that hacked the Info button. It used an external file for some of the information! So somehow Paul managed to sort what it took to insert a Flash object into Captivate and have that object extract data from an externally located file.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
    1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

  • Flash load faster

    Good morning,
    Is here any thing that I can do to compress my flash
    document in flash to load faster or is there anything that I can do
    in the html page to help my flash to load faster.
    Thank You,

    There's nothing you can do in HTML. The best method to make
    your Flash load
    faster is to externalize the content - ie all images, text,
    etc. can be
    placed externally. You can also separate your movie into
    different
    areas/swf's. Instead of having just one swf, you'd have a nav
    movie, and
    various content movies that the nav movie manages. This is
    how most pro
    level sites are created.

  • Speaking of Flash - Loading sequence question

    At my site the Flash videos -ARE- the content. I will be
    pointing a limited
    number of people at it and want it to load quickly and play
    without
    incident.
    http://www.subversive-entertainment.com/
    I've noticed that in some cases all of the <div> tags
    load and then the
    Flash loads in the background. In other cases, the
    <div> at the bottom of
    the page doesn't load until the Flash videos finish.
    Is the only sure fix to place all other content above the
    Flash video divs?
    Also, the Flash videos load, but the red 'stop' button is
    ghosted out, so
    you can't stop the download. Is there a setting to make the
    'stop' button
    available, or is that just the nature of Flash video?
    Thanks,
    TW

    Yes, loading all content before your flash div would be idea,
    if you're not
    placing them relatively.

  • Edit "Edit Property Loader..." cause an ActiveX Error

    Hello
    I have just make a fresh install of TS 3.1f1
    I have inserted a Property Loader step, and whenn I click on "Edit Property Loader..." button I get an ActiveX error:
    sCode = 0xffffbc66, Description: Unknow variable or property name 'SequenceFile'. Error accessing item 'SequenceFile'.
    Regards,
    Yannick Willener

    hi,
    Can you call the
    "\Examples\PropertyLoader\PropertyLoader.seq " and test this sequence? If you cann't run this sequence succsessfully may be you have to deinstall TS and install it again. If you run the sequence successfully than it seems that you have some problems with calling values through activeX. Check please the format of variables.

  • Drag and drop flash template in Captivate

    Hi,
    I'm having troubles inserting drag and drop exercises, generated through a Flash template, into Captivate as a swf. They sometimes work but the result is very instable. Here are two examples with the exact swf : one works fine and the other one doesn't display the buttons. The only difference is a blank slide in the second one...
    Has anyone tried this before have any idea?

    Michael
    Thanks for taking the time to check out the files.
    Here's the problem : example 1 shows OK, the buttons are visible and active. These two top buttons (circled in red) are from the embedded swf file, whereas the third one in the bottom was created in Captivate. They have the same look and feel sothat users won't notice the difference.
    Now, in example 2, these buttons from the swf file don't show. The Captivate button works fine.
    The two swf files are basically clones, nothing has been altered exept for sounds and images. The code is from the Test template that comes with Flash. They work perfectly fine while played alone, but have this behavior where embedded in Captivate.
    I have the exact same problem whatever the way I open them (Flash player, Firefox or IE 7), and my Flash player is up to date. Both the swf and the cp are AS 2.
