  • Editing Text in Acrobat Pro 9.

I have been trying to edit text in Acrobat Pro 9 using the touchup tool. Nothing happens when I try to type text or replace existing text. I have read that the system font must match the text in the PDF in order to change the text. According to the properties the text is curier a standard Windows font. Any suggestion?

The PDF file maybe password protected. Click Secure and Remove Security.

    Thanks a million

    Hi,
As a start point, please go through the log files (Apache, Forms, CM, Database) and see if you can find any errors.
Please verify that you run the following concurrent programs on regular basis:
    - Gather Schema Statistics
    - Purge Concurrent Request and/or Manager Data
How many concurrent users you have? Verify that your database initialization parameters are set properly (as documented in the Metalink document). Have you done any changes recently (applied Application/Database/OS patches) or did any upgrade?
Can you find any improvement in the performance if you stop the concurrent manager (or any of the application components)?
If you have verified all the above and all the steps in the documents referenced in my previous reply and nothing helped, then I would suggest you log a SR and upload all the tuning reports (backend, techstack, transaction, ..etc) to Oracle support.
    Regards,
    Hussein

  • Editing Text in Acrobat Pro DC

I've followed all the instructions for editing text but when I go to select a text box the entire area is selected and the only choice is to move objects on the page (flip, left/right, etc).   I'm unable to click on the blue box to select that specific text box I need to adjust. There is no option for me to select Tools to follow the other help instructions  "If a bounding box doesn’t appear, choose Tools > Recognize Text > In This File."
I'm trying to work on a PDF that someone else created (who is on vacation, lucky) and of course the client needs it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

I don't have Acrobat DC here right now, so I can't give you step-by-step instructions for text recognition.
    But have a look at https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how-to/edit-scanned-pdf-files.html?set=acrobat--fundamenta ls--edit-pdf

  • Can't edit text in Acrobat X Pro

I can't seem to edit text properly in a recently created PDF document, using Acrobat X Pro. I went to the help file, and followed the instructions, but it isn't working right. All I need to do is replace the numeral "8" with a "7" in a paragraph. When I finally get to the point to edit the text, I can delete the "8" but when I type "7', it creates a large space instead.
The instructions said that maybe I have to do something regarding the adobe font, so I did that, was able to finally enter a "7" but it messed up the formatting of the paragraph. Surely it can't be this hard to revise one character?

    Steve,
There are definitely folks out there that have had the same problem in Lion.  Just to cover the obvious basics however ... Select the clip with the text in it (we are talking about Titles, right?). Then position your timeline vertical playback marker somewhere in that clip.  Go up to the preview window and make sure the little rectangle icon in the lower left corner is Blue (enabled) ... a little horizontal line will appear near the center of the text area with a little circle on the end.  Then go to a word in your text and double click it.  Does it select the word? Making sure again that the text clip is actually selected on the timeline, if it does not select the text then I probably cannot help you.  There are other discussions on this topic, but I really do not know for sure if there are resolutions.  FYI, I use FCP X with Lion and 16GB on a 2011 21" iMac and use text titles about 20 times a week and do not have a problem at all.  Still I know the problems others are seeing are real.  Best wishes,
    stephen

  • Edit text in Acrobat 9 issue

    HI,
I'm trying to edit text in a pdf. When I'm selecting the text with the touch up text tool it is huge! It selects a paragraph insted of one line. How can I change it to select one line of text?
    Thank you.

Normally you would just place the cursor in the text field and drag it for the text you want. Besides that, editing in Acrobat can be a real pain and is not recommended. If at all possible, you should go back to the original document and just create a new PDF.

  • Cannot Editing Text in Acrobat 8

I opened customers pdf in Acrobat 8 Mac. Went to properties and found font name and opened it. Was able to edit Optima fonts but was not able to edit any of the Avante Garde fonts. I changed the avante garde text to times and arial, and still got an error message: "All or part of the selection has no available system font. You cannot add or delete text using the currently selected font." Seems like it will only accept a few fonts and Acrobat's font list is different than my Suitcase Fusion list - even if I have them open if Suitcase.
How change I change fonts to MY fonts and EDIT them?? Thanks

Have a PDF Form created in Photoshop and converted to a PDF. Would like to edit text in the form but the TouchUp Text Tool won't work. It is as though it doesn't recognize the text. Any ideas as to how I can edit text in the form. I need to delete text, add new text and move existing text.

  • Edited PDF in photoshop and edit text in acrobat

I am trying to edit an existing PDF that has a blue backround and text on it. I think it was made in photoshop. I had to fix a logo on it to so I brought the pdf to photoshop and edited the logo. But now I can't edit the text in acrobat professional! I could before I changed the logo.
Is there something I need to do in photoshop first before I make it a pdf? Or should I just create the text in acrobat professional?
I need to know for work. Reply soon.
    Thanks

You might do better in OSX forum at http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=745

  • Acrobat X Enterprise Installation within Acrobat X Suite

    Situation:
I have a volume license to install a number of Acrobat X Suites (WIN). Since we use deployment methods and don't have the time and fun to install all packages manually , I try to deploy these products (Acrobat X pro and Photoshop) on our enterprise computers. With some initial help from the Adobe support, I learned about the existence of two deployment tools:
    1. "Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition" (AAMEE, intended to deploy the suite products) and
    2. "Adobe Customization Wizard X" (ACWX, intended to customize the Acrobat products)
Then I started with reading the corresponding manuals and I followed the installation recommendations.
    Problem(s):
    1. If I use the AAMEE tool, it ignores the Acrobat X product completely (as already written in this post in January this year).
    2. If I use the ACWX tool, it rejects my (valid) volume license key.
So, I have no more idea,
    1. How to deploy Acrobat X from an Acrobat X Suite Media DVD and a volume license key in an enterprise environment? Or
    2. How to get another (valid) license number for the Acrobat X Pro-only deployment with ACWX?
    3. How comes the post (same as above) has more than 1000 views and no solution idea or suggestion from Adobe???

You cannot install Acrobat with AAMEE. You should use a standard enterprise method such as AIP, bootstrapper, SCCM, etc. You can customize the installer and product prior to installation with the Customization Wizard. Get the admin guide here: http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobatitinfo.
Licensing is also described in the admin guide.

  • Editing Text in Acrobat 8 Professional

How come I can't edit text using OCR text recognition or touch up text tool on documents that are scanned in
and saved as pdf's? I have more success using these tools on pdfs that are saved out of Word, etc.

I think Bernd was asking 1. Formatted text and graphics, 2. Searchable Image, or 3. Searchable Image (exact) that are the 3 options in AA8. With the searchable image, you may be able to edit the text, but it will remain hidden (the screen display is an image). With formatted text and graphics there is sometimes a problem because an outline font is used that can not be used for editing. You might be able to change the font and then edit -- I have not spent a lot of time with the option.

  • After installing ios7 my ipad keyboard is very slow for texting, emailing and entering passcode.  very slow

after installing ios7 on my ipad the keyboard is very slow, delayed.  text, email and passcode.

Hi Knackerman, I was racking my brain trying to think how I did this and then I remembered that at the time because of other problems I was having with my iPad and it was under extended warranty, they offered to replace it for me.
When I went to collect new one they asked if I wanted the to download iOS7 and they replied, NO, I did not, well that was enough for me and I told them to please leave it as is.
I just ignore all the reminders I receive to download iOS7 on my phone and iPad.
I am very happy with my 6 version.
I am very sorry I am unable to help, I know how you feel, I hated it, it caused so many glitches to my otherwise perfect iPad before instalment.
Overall though, I think Apple has to shake itself up, they are getting left behind in the Samsung wake.

  • Acrobat 8 Professional being very slow

I'm having some trouble with Acrobat 8 being very slow, there's at least a 10 second lag between any mouse clicks or key presses. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and everything works fine up until i enter a digital signature, that's about when it starts slowing down. I've been using digital signatures for a while now and haven't had any problems until recently. some system changes are installation of Office 2007 and desktop search. I've told desktop search to basically only index email items, since that's the only reason i use it. Started noticing some slowing down after 2007 upgrade, but i don't have much of a choice in whether or not that is installed. has anyone else experienced this and possibly have a solution?

Hi cdjones... have you tried using Acrobat® with NOTHING else running in the background? Try this... press ctrl + Shift + esc to bring up your Task Manager. End process on every item under Your username (except Task Manager and explorer) then use Acrobat®. Notice any difference? If you do, then one or more of those applications running in the background are slowing things down.

  • Acrobat Standard X Running very slow moving text boxes

I am an IT Technician that has a user running Adobe Acrobat Standard X. He mainly does editing with PDF's adding text boxes. When moving a text box within the PDF the program freezes for 30+ seconds and goes into "Not Responding". It always comes back, but should not take this long to drag and drop a text box. I have looked through other forums and tried a couple of things to "speed up" the program a bit. I have gone through the Preferences and unchecked the Enhanced Security option, unchecked the option that does Background Downloading, and changed the Updater to notify befor downloading and installing new updates. Again these are solutions that I found within other forums. At this point I am willing to try anything that could possibly help. I would appreciate any input on this matter. Thank you

  • Vertically-aligned tables shift down when entering/editing text within the table.

    Hi all,
We have a sudden problem that is occurring, and I've done a lot of searching without finding anything close to this happening elsewhere.
If there is ever a table that is aligned vertically within a text frame, you cannot edit the text without having it shift down one line break for every letter you type, until it's bottom-aligned within the frame. You can then click "align center", and it will re-align itself. Then, if/when you need to change even one letter again inside the table, it will shift down one line.
We've tested it with two different docs on both Mac and PC, with the same problem. I've cleared my prefs on the Mac to see if that would make a difference, and it hasn't done anything.
Any thoughts here? I can't recall anything that would have changed since this started happening, but it won't leave us alone now!
    Thanks!!

Very interesting. I do lots of tables but don't vertically justify so I have never run into this. However I can confirm this behavior on a new clean test page I made, using InDesign CS5 (7.0.3) on Mac OS 10.6.6. I have no other problems with InDesign; it is running flawlessly. And no weird plug-ins or system hack software.
My test file uses my default font (Adobe Minion Pro) and the default table (Insert > Table).
It also shifts down when I delete a character in a cell. And the shift for me is more than one carriage return. I can get it back to center-aligned by top aligning and then choosing center align again.
