Educator's discount - Can I receive even though I'm in South Korea?

Hello! I'm a university professor in Seoul, South Korea and would like to get the English version of Captivate using the educator's discount. This educator's version is offered on the U.S. site. I don't know if they offer a similar discount for Korean educators since the Korean website is (obviously) in Korean, and I don't read Korean. Is it possible to get the educator discount using the U.S. site? I cannot use the Korean version of Captivate since I cannot read Korean.

Don't know if you are able to do this, but I would not purchase the software, considering the subscription plan they have available. You can subscribe and always have the latest updates for around 29.99 a month. I do this from Japan, and it works much better than laying out however many hundreds of dollars and having to constantly pay for the upgrades. I think they even have a yearly plan for 20 something dollars a month...even for the educators discount, the subscription likely works out cheaper.

My Mail program has gone south on Leopard on my 27-month old Macbook. I can't send, even though the server details are correct. I tried reinstalling the Mail program from the install DVD, but no go; apparently that two-year old Mail is no longer compatible with my up-to-date Leopard. I tried deleting the account (hotmail) from Mail and setting up a different account (Yahoo). After loading all the inbox two things happened: first, I still couldn't send, and second, when I closed the Mail window the whole inbox then disappeared and doesn't come back. Although I couldn't reinstall the Mail program from the install DVD, would it still be possible to reinstall the whole system from that DVD? If I do, will I lose files or will there be another problem since that DVD is now over two years old?
Thanks for any suggestions; they will be much appreciated.
P.S. I've just noticed that now I can't change the desktop picture: I go through the motions in Preferences, but the new picture doesn't appear on the desktop. Is there a systemic problem?

You are waiting for an apology to something that happened over a year ago? Really? This is why there is a manager in the store. You have a problem with an employee you speak to the manager. Just like you did on the phone. You would have gotten your apology in July 2013.

It is because when you have a problem you (customers) go running to the store and want to take up the time of the reps to fix it. Other carriers have third parties that deal with technical support and those locations are few and far between. VZW provides this directly through their stores. Also, when you subsidize a $650 and pay $200 VZW has to pay $400. Your monthly service fee doesn't begin to scratch the surface of paying that back. Not with all the money that is put into the network and its improvements.
Then over a year later you get someone on the phone who apologized and offered to waive the fee on your phone and you didn't take it? That offer won't come down the pike again.
One thing you should know is that all these employees are people and as such they sometimes come off cross. I doubt that you speak to everyone so sweetly all the time. Cut them a little slack and put this whole thing behind you after 15 months. Either upgrade with VZW or move on.

b). He wanted list of tables including Z tables that can be maintained directly thru maintenance view
Auditor will do some excerse Directly Maintained Tables (vs) Authroized users
He will come back with a list of tables for which we have to give the logs.
I tried my best to explain my requirement.
To summarise - I repeat i am looking "List of Tables that can be maintained directly - When Client has status 'not modifiable" ?

Pre email downloaded and notifications received even though disabled

I have access to a computer most days and don't need the auto download to my phone, I simply want to check my email when I am away from a computer. I have turned off the notifications under the email preferences and set the Get Mail option to Manual. Despite this, my Pre is still automatically checking my email and notifying me of new emails. While at a sprint store the tech looked at me phone and said everything was set right. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or know how to fix it?

I have the same problem, running Web OS 1.1.0. Since I picked up my phone a couple weeks ago I'd awake to find my battery almost compeltely discharged. I was about to return my phone for a Blackberry.
I've verified this is my problem:
1) Set to manual, send an email to my gmail, I get notified of the new mail even though the mail app isn't open and I haven't synchronized it.
2) With the account removed I lose less than 10% batter, previously I'd lose 70% of my battery.
I just really want Palm to acknowedge that they are working on the issue since it is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to give up my Pre, but I NEED more than a day's battery life. Especially since I'm an extremely light voice, text, and data user.

Outlook 2011 for MAC marks IMAP emails as READ soon after they are received, even though I didnt read them

I have a 2 gmail accounts configured as IMAP on outlook.
Each time I receive an email on these accounts, it will appear as UNREAD for a short while, then, after a couple of syncs, it will turn to READ, even if I do not read it, hover over it, click on it, etc...
I thought that could be a sync problem with my iphone (the same accounts are also configured as IMAP on my iphone) so I switched off the iphone. Same problem
I thought that could be a sync problem with the web interface of gmail so I logged off my accounts on my firefox web browser and exited the browser. Same problem.
I have no other device that connects to my gmail accounts neither in pop nor IMAP.
I have a third email account configured on outlook as pop, and this one works perfectly.
I made sure that Preferences > Reading > "mark mail as read only when opened in a separate window" ... is clicked...
I have also rebuilt my identity, which didn't solve the issue...
The problem happens on outlook for mac 2011 version 14.3.5 and 14.3.6 (just updated outlook to that version).
I am on MAC OS 10.6.8
This has been happening since I decided to use IMAP for my gmail accounts (I was using pop before).
It is very annoying as I regularly miss time critical emails.
Anyone who can point me to a solution or a work around will have my eternal gratitude!!

Preferences > Reading > "mark mail as read only when opened in a separate window" ... is clicked...
It is something different... maybe a bug...
I hope someone comes up with a workaround! Or at least some other threads that would help me see through... I've been stuck on this for weeks

Event finds no receiver even though object key is OK

can’t see what goes wrong here. I have a work item waiting for an event. I trigger the event for with the matching object key, but the event finds no receiver, and nothing happens.
To elaborate,
the asynchronous ‘Document review’ task has terminating events REJECT etc. from my ABAP (business) class ZCL_PROL. On the terminating events tab:
_WI_OBJECT_ID CL ABAP Class ZCL_PROL   REJECTED
I trigger the event using cl_swf_evt_event=>raise and from SWEL I see that the event has been created correctly, for the right object type and object key.
On the other hand, from SWEINST I see that the ‘Document review’ work item is registered for the event. Table entry
CL ABAP Class ZCL_PROL   REJECTED   WORKITEM 10000000000392    000000045550
The class ZCL_PROL and the object key 10000000000392 in SWEINST are identical to what I see in SWEL.
The method FIND_BY_LPOR must be fine, as the wf has proceeded to this point. And no issues to be seen in SWEQADM.
Now, what goes wrong? Why doesn’t my work item react to the event?

I actually found the issue myself.
I had
cl_swf_evt_event=>raise(
     im_objcateg        = cl_swf_evt_event=>MC_OBJCATEG_BC
     im_objtype         = mv_objtype
     im_event           = gc_rejected
     im_objkey          = mv_instid
     im_event_container = mr_event_container
Once I changed the object category to MC_OBJCATEG_CL, it started working. Clearly I had misunderstood the meaning of 'Business Class'. I changed back to regular CL, and it's fine.

Can't Login (even though password correct)

Sometimes when I make a new password and try to login, it says the password is incorrect. I've even made the password my hint to ensure I've type it correctly and it still doesn't work. I've experienced this on at least 3 occasions since OSX Yosemite.

I think you have two choices...

Or, an Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes. (May or may not work)

We are using Oracle ERP in our company which is a web based ERP system. I am using firefox to work in ERP for convinieince pf working and using internet at the same time. This requires a plugin provided by oracle oajinit.exe to be installed in Plugins it is a JAVA plugin which opens the ERP Screens. This works fine in versions prior to 3.6 version of firefox. However, after upgrading to 3.6 version the forms do not open and firefox crashes. Due to this i am not able to upgrade to the latest version else i'll have to operate the ERP in internet explorer and using firefox for browsing which i do not want. The plugin used for the ERP is "* JInitiator 1.3.1.18 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)"

Firefox 3.6 needs the Java Second Generation Plugin which comes with newer versions than 1.6.0_03 - update Java, the latest version is 1.6.0_22

So, I'm wondering if you may have signed up using a different email address, or signed up for a subscription via a Reader mobile app? For the latter, those subscriptions are handled by the app store from which you made the purchase, so Adobe wouldn't have record of those.

Can't Backup Even Though Lots of Space

I'm trying to do the initial setup of TM on my new MacPro but it keeps telling me "This backup is too large for the backup volume..." I have excluded numerous folders in TM preferences. The total included size to backup is 133GB (as calculated by TM in its preferences dialog) and I'm trying to backup to a brand new external USB drive with 465GB free. However, each time the backup tries to run it says "The backup requires 466.0GB but only 465.3GB are available."
What gives?

I want to be able to receive and send SMS messages from my skype to my friend's cell phone in Korea
When I send it they receive it, but they can't respond it back to me because it is an international text.
Is there anyway that I can buy a Korean online number when I'm living in US?
and with that number will I be able to talk and send/receive messages with my friend?

@ sberman -Hi-I have my settings as you described and I do have a text msg. plan with At&T. I'm still puzzled, however; I had the same plan with he former phone-the ancient 3Gs and with it, I was able to send/receive text, photos, etc. to non-Iphone users via WiFi as long as I was home and within distance of the connection. I did not have to have my cell data "on" in order to send/receive anything. Everything transmitted through WiFi-and did not impact my charges or cell data limits.. I know I must use the cell data ON when I'm away, but don't understand why/how I can't do the same as before I upgraded to the 5c. Admittedly, I am certainly NOT in the stratospheric league as so many phone experts here-I do make the attempt to understand, though..
I read on one of the numerous help/answer sites that apparently someone else had registered the same complaint with Apple and now has a pending lawsuit-and hoping to get class-action status on the issue. I'm fairly sure this is the same-although I cannot be 100% certain given my lack of expertise.

I can no longer receive my emails from the icloud to my mac even though it has been doing it fine since I moved to the icloud a number of weeks now. I only get my mail if I log into icloud or I get it on my phone, it is not synching to my iMac. Can someone assist please.

I tried something similar by adding a new mail account doing the apple id etc but it worked in that it would look for mail but no mail would come even though mail still goes to my phone I was loath to delete my original account just in case the new one did not work as well. So I guess I am a little stuck now.. I hope you can help me to sort it out.

Why wont an email send even though i am logged in and i can receive mail

I upgraded to an iphone6 a couple of month ago and ever since i have I've had problems with my apple mail.
i log in with my hotmail account and i receive emails thats fine but the notifications (even though they are switched on) will not notify me on a locked screen.
That is one problem.
But my main problem is that i am logged in and can receive mail yet i cannot send any mail as it comes up with a message "You cannot send your username and password may be wrong"???

I recently helped a friend with the same problem. Do you know what website the email address is from. If it is Hotmail try removing the account and be sure to choose Exchange as the account type when setting up the account again.
