Effect different after exporting?

Hi,
I am trying to apply a beat (modern rock drums No.5) to a trailer I'm making. It sounds perfect when applied but when exported into FCP it clearly skips or seems to miss a beat. I've tried it both ways - with a low res version in Soundtrack Pro itself and just saving the beat and importing it to FCP. Both have the 'broken' beat after leaving Soundtrack. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.

Okay, then. The audio file you're using has a tempo of 100 bpm, and your project has a tempo of 120 bpm. That's what's causing that "break" you're describing.
In Soundtrack Pro, open your project. Then select the Project tab in the left column and scroll to the bottom. Change the tempo from 120 to 100. Save the project, then export to FCP again. That should take care of it.

  • Trouble with photos looking different after exporting to LR5

I am new to lightroom 5.  My photos do not look the same after exporting to CD or to a photo lab for printing.  I am exporting to my hard drive before burning to CD.  Can someone help?  I am starting with RAW or CR2 files before editing.

What export settings are you using. For jpegs I always choose color space as sRGB (unless the printer requests Argb) and then I set print  size, with resolution between 240 and 300 ppi. For glossy paper I choose a high sharpening setting.
It’s also possible to print a whole batch to jpeg files using the Print Module (see image below). You can then set an output value for brightening and contrast.
This can be useful as many people using uncalibrated monitors often find prints look darker than shown on their PC. When using for the first time it’s well worthwhile doing a test batch using different settings to see which gives you the best results.

  • Why are my edited jpegs different after export?

I have a really strange problem that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere else on the web
It's kind of difficult to understand but I will explain as best I can. So my friend and I have just started a photography business and things are going great. I use a Canon Rebel T3i with either a standard, portrait or telephoto lens. I use Lightroom 5 and after I finish editing my photos, I export them and they look lovely in my folder (I have an Asus laptop and Windows 8 if that helps) however when I upload them to websites like Pixieset or Facebook, the quality of the photo looks nothing like the quality I had edited as. The effects, presets and any other adjustments made to my exported photo become extremely dull and it was like the edit was never done. Even at the highest quality, my photos still look nothing like I edited them!
And what's weirder? My friend uses the exact same program, has the exact same OS and also uses Facebook and Pixieset, along with very similar presets effects etc. and her photos look exactly like they have been edited. I don't understand what's up with that!!! And of course just my luck I am unable to insert a screen capture to show you bc it is for some reason not working. But my export settings are JPEG, sRGB, he quality is 100% and the res is 300 ppi and all photos are very cool toned and dull. I have tried different resolutions, different qualities and even different image formats and every single time I still had the exact same problem Very frustrating!! please offer any advice you can, I have tried everything!
    Thank you in advance!

I also have an ASUS laptop running Windows-8 (13") but I only use the laptop for offloading memory cards while on the road so I will need to figure a way to test this to see if it is something in the OS, the ASUS hardware or whatever. I will be heading off for the weekend so I won't be able to do this until next week but the problem is intriguing.
You said you did "another screen calibration"; was this done with hardware/software using a calorimeter or done visually using software? I am assuming you used hardware but wanted to be sure. Also, are you starting with a RAW image, doing your edits and then exporting the RAW image as a JPEG or did you start with a JPEG? In theory, it shouldn't matter but Lightroom does handle JPEG and RAW images slightly differently. Lightroom 5 is much better at handling JPEG edits non destructively than previous versions but the changes should have been baked into the files upon export.
I am not familiar with Pixieset nor am I a Facebook user but, from what I understand about how Facebook operates, there is some compression as well as stripping of metadata from the file when you post it. This shouldn't matter since the edits should have been baked into the JPEG already but I have been in IT long enough to understand that sometimes, the smallest change can have major unexpected consequences. From what you stated, this should be working but it's not. I would like to see if I can duplicate it so any additional information about your processes/workflow would be helpful.

  • Previews in LR 1.0 look different after exporting to 'file'.

Hello everyone, I'm new to LR and somewhat new to PS (PS CS3).  I'm starting to shoot mainly in NEF but have many more jpgs on file.  While editing jpg's in LR for a Quinceanera (shoot w/ D200,JPEG,sRGB working in Win XP) I've had to, on occasion, finish editing in PS CS3 (blemish removal, USM in Lab, Gaussian Blur, etc.) after saving as a PSD and returning to LR and then 'export' the file back to jpg in a different folder (on Desktop) for easy finding I notice a 'change' in appearance in additional previews that I click on (back in LR) ONLY in the Develop Module!  In Explorer and also the 'final' folder on the Desktop all images look the same (good).  As I move my mouse over thumbnails in the Filmstrip they look fine in the Navigator preview but when I select one, it also looks fine as it is 'loading' but quickly 'shifts' to dull, bland when finished (again only in Develop Module).  I've read a TechNote from Adobe stating ~'... the Library and Develop Modules use different color profiles...'??  in Preferences (LR) I have selected <PSD,ProPhoto RGB, and 16/bit>  and in Color Settings... (PS CS3) I have a Working space as (RGB) - ProPhoto RGB  and in Color Management Policies have RGB set to Off.  My long winded question is this: I this normal and/or should I set my Preferences to sRGB (in LR for PS CS3)?  Anybody have the same issues?  P.S.  I've had to close LR and then restart LR to have this 'problem' go away (no shifting in Develop).  Thanks

Big A, Thanks for replying. Just to let you know, I went into Preferences (LR) and changed my settings: PSD, sRGB, and 8/bit and also changed PS CS3 Color Settings... :RGB-Working Space to sRGB and left RGB-Color Management Policies to Off (w/ Profile Mismatches: checked for Ask When Opening) just to help remind me when I'm working w/ RAW files.
Seems to have settled the issue of different 'views' from Library to Develop Modules. Anyways it seems to make sense seeing how Ps and Lr are supposed to work together 'behind the scenes'. There must be an order of things concerning profiles/spaces (what is effective in one app stays effect in the other or maybe LR have 'authority' over Ps due to its 'design'?? Thanks for the help Antonio

  • Color different after export

OK image looks great in LR...RAW shot with 5D and edited in LR. Export to desktop, flickr, for email, ANYWHERE I export as jpeg...the color changes. Skin is orangy and yellowie and not pretty.
Here is a link to the example.

    WHAT IT GOING ON???

First, make absolutely sure you are exporting to sRGB jpeg. If you are exporting to other color spaces and you are not using color managed apps to watch the files (e.g. Firefox 2.0 is not color managed), you will see a color shift. If you are already doing that, Lee is probably right. Vert likely a bad profile. Even if it works in Aperture and other apps. This can happen because Lightroom uses the perceptual rendering intent, while most apps use the relative colorimetric intent. The difference should be almost inperceptible (pun intented), but some canned profiles and profiles generated by certain calibrators have a bad perceptual intent embedded. Also, if you are using dual monitors, make sure that they are the same or that you know what you are doing. Lightroom will usually pick up the profile from the main monitor. But when you then drag the window to another it often does not pick up on the change.

  • After Effects error: Quicktime export failed - Out of memory (-108)

I am using CS3 After Effects and have been receiving this After Effects error: Quicktime export failed - Out of memory (-108).  Can anyone help with this issue?
I am using a Mac Pro 6-Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz with 6 memory slots at 1GB DDR3 ECC at Speed 1333MHz.

Sounds like one of those many "old version of AE on new hardware" issues... You may need to fiddle with Rosetta or install it in teh first place, if you haven't already and you may also require a specific older version of Quicktime...

  • Different colors after export

I had this a time ago from Final Cut Express too.
I do have a short clip from a Canon HF100 AVCHD camcorder, that shows industries at sundown. I saturated the colors a bit to make the sundown a bit more dramatic.
When I export that clip with Quicktime conversation from within Final Cut Express I get different movies with more or less saturated colors after:
    - Photo JPEG codec gives fine saturated colors as they were in FCPE
    - H.264 codec gives much less saturated colors after export
I had that some time before as I made a simple slideshow in FCPE with photographs from Aperture and in another case with a short movie wherein I used some clips made with different apps like one came from iMove 09 and the other came from Keynote 09. In this case after export with setting for iPhone the colors in the iMovie part were OK but in the Keynote part they were less saturated and a bit to light.
What I miss is a kind of colormanagement like it is available system wide for stills.
    What do I wrong?

Well, In this case I had to export the clips for some stock footage sites were each of them do have different recommendations in which format they want the clips.
One site had the option for clips saved as .mov with codec PhotoJPEG for most compatibily on any platform, another like to have the clips not larger as 300 MB were I had to use another codec like H.264 to let the export file smaller than the limit.
The exported files had all in base the same settings:
The H.264 file was exported with compression H.264, quality 75, 25 fps, clipdimension 1920x1080 px
The PhotoJPEG with best quality in color and with the same clipdimension.
Til now, I ccan see the only difference is the kind of compression -> H.264 instead of PhotoJPEG, but with different saturated colors in final file. Why?

  • Premiere Pro CS4 Loose transition effect after exporting.

Hey everyone.  Still a little new to Pro, but have searched for an answer to this question with no luck.  I have about a 4 minute project which consists of titles, still images and video and audio.  I have 5 opening titles, each 3 seconds long.  I have set the 'dip to black' transition effect between each of them.  After exporting to media - Windows AVI, the effect is gone on just these clips.  All other transitions work great.  I am doing this on my Vista Ultimate Dual Core 1.8 GHz 32-bit PC with 3GB of RAM.  I am exporing to NTSC DV.
I did try exporting the exact same project on my work laptop.  Windows XP, 1.7GHz with 1GB of RAM and it worked just fine.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you in advance.

The glow is best done with a plugin from trapcode called Shine.  They also have an effect called sparkle which should accomplish the effect in your video example.
Shine is preetty much a standard plugin for AE or Pr.  Its a bit overused though.
    http://www.trapcode.com/products_shine.html
In fact I did a tutorial for Shine a while back.  Maybe it will help.  Though it was done on Pr ver 1; but the plugin works the same.

  • Color of video looks extremely different (photo negative) after export

After sending my footage (on my timeline) to Color, I changed the color in the Primary In, then added some Effects in the Color FX section. I added Exposure, Film Look, and Saturation. I edited each one of my clips (with the same settings as I mentioned) and then sent it back to FCP. I rendered the footage. The footage looked great in the timeline. Everything looked just as I wanted it to. But then when after exporting using Quick Time conversion, I played the video and it looked absolutely horrible. When I say horrible I mean the footage looked like a photo negative, it was not even watchable. I had other footage in the exported video that was not edited in color, and that footage was fine.
Where is this problem coming from and how do I solve it? I would really appreciate help on this issue.
Here is a link with what my footage looked like after exporting it:

  • Audio out of sync after export!

I've exported this video I've been working on several times under different conditions, no effects, no transitions, no additional media, different formats between AVI, MPEG, H.264, I've uninstalled and re-installed premier, running as administrator.  I have done everything in my known knowledge of troubleshooting to figure out why after exporting this video my audio sync is off by two seconds, nothing I've done has worked.

  • Shaky Video after export

Hello. I've posted on this before, but havent quite found my answer.
I have video with some motion in it that looks shaky when I burn it to DVD. Someone suggested that I try adding the De-Interlace filter to correct it, but that doesnt seem to be it. I can watch the video from FCE on a TV going thru my camera and it looks fine (with or without the De-interlace filter). But when I export the video as a self contained movie, then pull it in to toast, and burn a DVD, the motion looks bad on the DVD. I also tried going thru iDVD, and there it looked even worse.
This problem is new to me. I've had video with motion before and didnt have this issue.
    Any ideas????
    Thanks!

I also read your earlier posts on this topic.
From your description I'd exclude de-interlacing and the field dominance problem: you detect these issues before burning if you Print to Video or playback through the firewire connection to a interlaced TV. And you did that.
So export might be the problem. Let me however suggest a test to check if the Export process from FCE or the burning process by Toast or iDVD is the issue.
After export you could try to open the exported .mov (with Export/QuickTime Movie !) using QT Pro, open the property window (cmd-J), select the video track, open the view settings (or something alike, I have the Italian version...) and check High Quality. Then in the main window if you go through the shaky part frame by frame (right arrow) you should see how each frame looks:
    - If a frame has a comb effect (due to the fact that its 2 fields have different timing) that's not necessarily bad: what you see is interlacing, that should be correctly handled by the playback device (whether through firewire from FCE or when recorded on DVD).
    - But if frames jump back and forth, then you might have a field dominance problem.
If interlacing or field dominance is a problem, however as I said above, you should see it also when you watch the movie connected to a TV.
To cross check, in FCE you can set the canvas window to 100% (no more e no less) and repeat the frame by frame test I suggest above in QT Pro: if the behaviour is the same the problem is in the use of Toast or iDVD, if they behave differently in FCE (better) and QT (worse), then Export is the culprit.
This doesn't solve your issue, but it might help in understand it.
I hope I did not confuse your ideas...

  • In SSRS , after exporting report in excel, wrap text property for cell and freeze column for SSRS table header not working in Excel

I am working no one SSRS my table headers are freeze cangrow property is false and my report is working perfect while rendering data on RDL and i want same report after exporting in Excel also , i want my table header to be freeze and wrap text property
to work after exporting in my report in excel but its not working ,is there any solution ? any patch ? any other XML code for different rendering ?

    Hi Amol,
According to your description, you find the wrap text property and fix column is not working after exporting into Excel. Right?
In Reporting Services, when exporting to excel file, it has limitation for textbox.
Text boxes are rendered within one Excel cell. Font size, font face, decoration, and font style are the only formatting that is supported on individual text within an Excel cell.
Excel adds a default padding of approximately 3.75 points to the left and right sides of cells. If a text box’s padding settings are less than 3.75 points and is just barely wide enough to accommodate the text, the text may wrap in Excel.
In this scenario, it supposed to be wrap text unless you merge cells. If cells are merged, word-wrap does not work correctly. If any merged cells exist on a row where a text box is rendered with the
AutoSize property, autosize will not work. For the Fix Data Property, it can't be working in Excel. These are features when exporting to Excel. We can't change it because it's by design.

Exporting to Microsoft Excel (Report Builder and SSRS)
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • How can I eliminate a green rectangle showing up after exporting?

After exporting in FCP and viewing in Quicktime, a green rectangle on the right side of the Quicktime window is showing up for about 1 second at a point where there is black between two clips with fade in/out transitions. There is a slug there which I thought might have something to do with it. I tried deleting the slug but the green rectangle persists. Can anybody help me eliminate this green monster?

Nick-- Thanks so much for your reply.
    CODEC is H.264.
In Sequence Settings I have the Quicktime Video Settings Compressor set to HDV 1080i60.
After rendering and saving the sequence, I click
    File >
    Export >
Using Quicktime Conversion. After window opens to save the file
    Format: Quicktime Movie
    Use: Most Recent Settings
    I click "Options" >
Settings, I choose H.264, then click OK (the green rectangle appears regardless of quality setting (I tried 2 kinds: Best and Hight), (also, encoding doesn't matter, either. I tried Multi-pass and Single-Pass)
Click Size, choose NTSC 720 x 480 16:9 (using this just for a smaller file to FTP to show progress)
I then uncheck Sound and Prepare for Internet Streaming (no soundtrack on this yet), then click OK
    I then click Save.
As I mentioned I tried it several different ways and each time the green rectangle shows up. I am nearing the end of this project and this is really becoming a problem. I hope you can help eliminate it. If you would like to see it I can email a small few second clip that will show it.
    Thank you again--

  • Blacks turn dark grey after exporting to pdf from InDeign cs6

Exactly what the title says. The one on the right is from Indesign....the left one is after exporting (the same in preview and acrobat reader).Anyone know why this happens?

In this case it looks like the color change is because the color mangement settings are not sync'd and not a color conversion—if there was a CMYK-to-CMYK conversion on export the image wouldn't show through.
ID, Acrobat, and Preview all display some black CMYK mixes as something other than absolute black, but the preview depends on the color settings so there could be a shift if they don't match.
Different black mixes US SWOP Coated with Black Point Compensation
