Effects with panel

Hi everybody
I'm trying to use a fade effect, using transitions on this
scenario, i have a panel , which have inside it a tab control,
which in turn have several tabs, with canvas as the base container,
it also has several datagrids on it and a form. What i'm trying to
do is to have a title window or another panel apearing on the top
of this one but i can't seem to find a way, because i'm fading the
panel from one state to the other where i have the second panel,
i'm using transitions with paralel but it doesn't work, when it
fades it fades the 1st panel and the 2nd on the new state and the
text that eventually is on the 1st panel doesn't fade. Can someone
tell me how to acomplish this?
thanks

Hi
Thanks for your answer, i'll try that
mean while i don't understand why can't i put a panel on top
of other, when i do this part of the one that stays on top
dissapears , is this only happening wit panels or is it with all
components? my idea was to make a window with some data and open
another with details from that data, on the top of the existing
window, can you help me on this?

    NOTE: I am using Flex Builder 3, I'm not sure if just the
    BUILDER is upgraded to 3, or Flex is upgraded as well. There
    doesn't seem to be a Flex 3 forum here or on Adobe labs. I am
    posting here hoping that this is a general Flex problem and someone
    can help me.
    I and trying to make a sub-class of Panel with a series of
    buttons at the top. As the buttons will be outside the container
    area, I chose to put them into the titleBar. using
    titleBar.addChild()
    The problem is, the buttons I place inside the titleBar do
    not get Events.
    In what I think is a related problem. If you adjust the
    "headerHeight" property to say "12" and then have controls
    (button/combo) at the top of the panel's container, the top of
    controls do not get events, but the bottom of the controls do. It
    seems that something in the Panel is blocking events at the top of
    the panel.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    I have gathered more information about this issue today. it
    seems that the issue is not the panel, but the outer container that
    I embedded it into. The effect I was trying to get was a panel with
    a highlight at the top. To do this the border alpha has to be set
    to "0" otherwise you see odd artifacts, but then the highlight can
    only apply to the background color.
    To get the effect I wanted, I embeded the panel with the
    highlight and buttons inside another panel (with the
    backgroundColor i wanted and solid border) embeding the panels is
    what caused the mouse events to go missing. Changing the outer
    Panel to a Canvas fixed the problem.
    However I still think there is a problem with Panels.
    embedding a Panel inside another Panel should not make the mouse
    events disappear. I'm just not sure where the real problem is.
    If anyone is curious, i can prepare a simple test app that
    shows the bug.

  • Flex Module issue with Panel

    Hello everyone. I have the following problem.
    In my application I have several modules and each of them have components CollapsableTitleWindow (extends Panel). After opening the window it is added to the container which is in the main application (CollapsableTitleWindowContainer). In these windows you can open another window (and so on).
    Now, what is the problem. When I change (reload) any module and I want to open a new window (sub window) with the already loaded window I get this error:
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

    Please help.
    P.S. I found a similar problem on http://www.nabble.com/Flex-Module-issue-with-Panel-td20168053.html
    ADDED: I extendes the Panel class and do something like that:
    override protected function layoutChrome(unscaledWidth:Number, unscaledHeight:Number):void
                    use namespace mx_internal;
                    if(!(mx_internal::titleBarBackground is TitleBackground)) {
                            mx_internal::titleBarBackground = new TitleBackground();
                    super.layoutChrome(unscaledWidth, unscaledHeight);
    But now i had something like that: Before After
    You can see that it loos style declaration.H

    Thanks for the anserw.
    I don't exacly understand all but i found a solution for my problem and it works.
    Could you tell me if this is ok ?
    I Add in my main app
    public function getProductWindow():ProductWindow {
        return new ProductWindow();
    And in the module i change
    From var productWindow:ProductWindow = new ProductWindow();
    To var productWindow:ProductWindow = Application.application.getProductWindow();

  • How can I get a parallax effect with Hub Control or change the background image scroll rate?

    Like the title says, I'm trying to get more of a parallax effect with a Hub Control in Windows Phone. In my current hub app, the picture has to be as wide as the entire hub, and it scrolls through the picture quickly. I'd like a way to make the background
    image scroll slower than the content on top of is.
    I've looked everywhere in the API docs, but I can't find anything saying how to do this. :(

    Hi PTK7,
    Yes, currently there is no documentation for this effect, however we can manually control the image scroll speed:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10589192/windows-8-gridview-parallax-background-image
    Also I found a sample from code center:
    https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/ParallaxBackground-A-Metro-f929e558, take a look to see if these helps.

    How do I remove old applications that I no longer have on my Mac from the "Open with" panel the appears when you use the "Open with" command? For example I have Adobe Reader 9.3.4 installed but I'm also given a choice of 2 other Reader versions, in addition to 9.3.4

    No. but you can remove duplicates by rebuilding the LaunchServices database with this one-line command run in the Terminal app. Restart after running it:
    */System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchS ervices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user*

  • Using the brilliant effect with a size oscillate.

    Hi,
    Trying to achieve a Star Trek effect with the Brilliant particle generator. It's the flash at the end of this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=8d10vQHbZQU).
    I'm trying to replicate it with the Brilliant particle and i get something strange. I added an oscillate to the scale parameter, and while it works I get some particles drifting along the y-axis? I'm not sure why it's doing this. I'm applying the oscillate to the whole group. Should I be adding it to just the particle?
    Cheers and Thanks,
    Jose

    Have you taken a look at the Dazzle filter? You may be able to recreate that effect with just the Dazzle filter and some object opacity keying plus adjustments and key framing to Dazzles Amount and Brightness parameters.

  • How to use track effects with new version of GarageBand

    In the version of GarageBand before this one, you could access different effects that you could manage and apply to the different tracks.  Each track had an area containing its set of effects that were either activated or deactivated.  With this removed, i am not sure how to add those same kind of effects.  I am aware of the new nobs that are provided in order to mix and edit trebles, bass, mid, etc., but i want to be able to add different effects such as voice transformer, flanger, chorus, speech enhancer, bit crusher, bass amp, track echo, track reverb, amplifier, etc.  I desperately need help finding out how to do this, as this was a major part of my mixing and producing with GarageBand, and without these given effects, i do not feel as comfortable using GarageBand.

    All purchases remain tied to the account used to buy them, but you can authorize iTunes to multiple accounts and put protected content from up to five on your devices. Generally best to stick to one account if possible. More so once you get to iOS devices as managing app updates over multiple devices is a chore.

  • How to create "Fisheye Effect" with Photoshop 10, on a Mac computer

    How to create "Fisheye effect" with Photoshop 10 on a Mac computer?

    One way : use the filter : correct camera distortion. Move the remove distortion slider towards left (barrel distortion)
    Or, first increase the canvas size to a square format bigger than the larger dimension of the image and play with the filter : distort, spherize.

  • Can i use After Effects with FC4?! And how?

    Hello! For a while i thought you could not use Adobe after effects with Final express...but i was wondering again if i can use it, and if i can, how do i use it with FCE?? Thanks!

    Well after AE, i can continue editing it in final cut? Or once i use it in AE, it is too late to put the sequence or scene back into FCE?
    I guess an example would be that if i just want one scene or one sequence from final cut to be used in AE, i would export that sequence as a QT movie? Then how do i put it back into Final Cut once it is done with AE?
